When I came into the store during their half price sale, I found the prices to be inflated. One example is Stickley Harvey Ellis 26 inch table. If you go to Stickley.com the list price is 2977 when you look on the list price given by MUELLER they inflate that price by 56% and have it marked as $5299.99. There are laws in Illinois that protect consumers from prices that are inflated to deceive if customers into believing they're getting a greater discount on a sale According to Illinois administrative code retail advertisement rule title 14 sub section 470.240 this prohibits, false or deceptive advertisement and pricing practices. Even though the sales person, Clark, stated there was a state law prohibiting them from inflating the list price they do it anyway. I absolutely understand why people want to support local businesses, but buyers beware. If there's something you're interested in check out the prices from the manufacturer be certain that you're not falling to deceptive advertisement practices like I almost got caught in today. When I pointed this out to the sales person, he stated well they need to make money too. Mueller do better. read more

Mueller Furniture had always been a highly respected local business. However, "Honest John" (Founder - 1927), Roland, Les and Lynwood Mueller, former owners of Mueller Furniture, must be quite disturbed to learn how poorly the business is being operated by Mark Mueller. ​We have heard of numerous complaints about poor customer service and employee dissatisfaction since Mark took over the business in 2022. We experienced extremely poor customer service recently when we purchased an expensive sofa and love seat from Mueller Furniture which was determined to be "defective" by one of Mark's own employees after it was delivered to our home. Mark, however, personally refused to accept return of the defective furniture and issue a refund. We now have to purchase other furniture for our home after we donate the defective Mueller furniture to a charity. ​We recommend that no one purchase furniture from Mueller Furniture. read more

Tom was knowledgeable of their products, professional and easy to work with. Really appreciated his interactions. Exceptional service, great quality furniture, our salesperson Deanne was outstanding. We did go to the Fairview Heights location. She made it so easy and made us feel right at home. We purchased a light recliner and a sofa. Bought on Monday, delivered on. Saturday, even hauled off the old stuff, couldn't have been simpler. We are quite pleased with our quality pieces. Parking is limited on the side of the store. They have a packed showroom and an overflow/scratch and dent in the basement. We were looking for Flexsteel reclining sofa and loveseat: they have quite a large selection. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their products. If they don't have what you want in stock they can order it for you. We ended up finding a better sale at another area store that specializes in leather. Still a good shopping experience. read more

Furniture is 3 times than other places and the when buying be careful. Ordered a dining room set with a solid table. We had to wait for 4 weeks to receive the wrong table. They sent a table with the wrong top that had 2 leaves. They said that was because they gave us compensation because we did our homework and found a cheaper price elsewhere. The leaves on the table did not have the aprons to match the table. When we asked they said we would need to spend hundreds more to correct their mistake. I could go on but you get the point. Not worth your time or aggrevation to pay twice or more of a more reliable business. read more

We purchased these couches April 24th didn't get delivered till June, no biggie since everything is on back order from COVID. Got them the first week of June, the day after we got them we called mueller to come and fix our couches. We had looked over them the night we got them and noticed they were poorly stitched together big gaps in the framing AND in the cushions, we didn't hear anything for 2 weeks and we call back and they say nothing was put in the system that nothing was ever reported! So they finally put the notes in after the second call, it took them 2 weeks to send someone out to just LOOK at them then a month to pick up the couches to repair the siding and all the stitching. They had them for about 4 weeks! No update at all I finally call Oct 10th and ask for an update and there was no notes about when it will be ready, someone named Lisa calls me Oct 12th to let me know they'll be getting delivered Monday Oct 17th didn't hear anything till 2pm when I called to find out when they'll be delivered Lisa says their truck broke down and had to reschedule delivery for Oct 19th. POOR communication with this company they don't call to update or even know what's going on themselves. So we finally get our couches back after waiting forever to get them fixed the day we received them and delivered, not only do they look like a poor job of "fixing" them but they're dirty literally looks like they could've done this in 2 days instead of 4 weeks. We paid 5K for couches that were handled poorly, put together by an amateur and kept in storage till they decided to set up delivery. No one from the store is any help at all their communication or horrendous, we were putting so much faith into this store because a lot of people recommended Mueller saying the furniture is pricey but will last and is well built. And so far I'm agreeing on the pricey part only, I really regret getting anything from this store because I had high expectations that you get what you pay for and with the price we paid we should've gotten what we actually were looking forward to, we would've been better off going to Weekends only and getting something cheaper and put together better than from Mueller. I call after couches were delivered and the sales manager told the person that answered the phone (sales manager didn't even talk to me himself) he told her to tell me they'd send my info to a Mark and it'll be his decision if we can restock our couches because at this point I don't even want them no more we've paid into them already and don't forget a 20% restocking fee lol I wouldn't recommend this place at all!! Oh yeah and they STILL have to fix all the cushions the delivery guys even asked if they got fixed and I told them nope and he said "didn't we take these like a month ago" and I said yes but this is how they handle their business. read more

The loveseat in my entertainment room is ready for retirement. It definitely has seen better days and needs to go away. I've periodically heard the radio commercials for Mueller Furniture on Y-98 and thought I'd give them a visit. I was totally impressed with the variety of selection and the affordability of price. Kay my sales associate was knowledgeable of the merchandise and offered several suggestions to meet my needs. She was totally professional. She helped me find two items that fit my needs and budget. However, after completing my Labor Day shopping, I put the retirement of the loveseat off for a couple more months. Recently bought a new house and purchased a bedroom set from these folks. It was definitely not cheap (I bought an Amish set) but if you want something quality, hand built that'll last you forever I'd definitely recommend Mueller. I'm sure they have other, more budget friendly options, but I bought from them because I wanted Amish furniture and they have a good selection. Alex was my salesperson and he was cool, no complaints there. Bedroom set looks great and the delivery guys were nice and did what they came to do. Furniture is solid oak and heavy as f*** so don't try to move on your own, especially if you have wood floors. Learned my lesson on that. Anyhow, No issues here. We visited the new location in Ellisville, MO. The sales representative didn't introduce himself or welcome us into the brand new location. We knew what model of chair we were looking for including the fabric number. He went to check availability and returned saying he had one in leather. That wasnt what we wanted. He didn't offer any pricing or inquire of the quanity of furniture we were inquiring. about. We had to ask for the price for the specifications we wanted. We had to ask if they priced matched competitors and he we do but he would have to check on the price we quoted. He barely came down from the original price he quoted and stated we would have to drive to Bellville, IL to pick it up; not coming close to the competitors price. Our goal was to keep our business local. Over all the experience was dry and they didn't seem eager for business. read more

While the sales process was quite good, you're gonna be waiting a while if you have a problem. We purchased a Flexsteel sofa that the springs broke off of their welds. 3 springs actually. Regular use, no kids to jump up and down on the furniture. We spent the considerably higher price for Flexsteel for the reputation and the lifetime frame warranty. This all started back in 2020 so when we called and left a couple messages with manager but covid must have really screwed them up because no one ever got back to us. Flash forward to 2023 and I was able to go into the store. Spoke with the manager, he took my information and we set up a visit to the house for them to make a report on the damage and figure out what needed to be ordered for the repair. We were charged a service fee for this visit which I find ridiculous since this is all supposed to be a warranty situation. We were told that in a few weeks they would reach out and give us a timeline for the repair. Well that was in March. Since then we've called them 3 times for an update. Mueller called back each time....first to tell us that the parts were backordered. Then 2 months later​ to tell us it would be 3-4 weeks then 4 weeks later to say that "It will be longer, we just don't know how long." Perfect. So the couch of course is getting worse and worse causing the cushions to fail faster and faster.....which we are being forced to pay for the replacement of ourselves. Flexsteel won't work with you directly so you have to deal with the location you buy it from. Sales part was fine....service after the sale is nearly nonexistent. Never again Mueller and we're telling anyone and everyone to not even bother walking in your doors. Maybe by the end of the year we'll have a solution to report.....maybe. read more

I just rolled into Chesterfield, MO and was told by a friend to check out Mueller's. Although it's a good 35 minute drive I decided to have some trust and check it out. I was not disappointed. Rebekah greeted me with open arms and showed me around to all the different areas for the things I was looking for. I needed furniture within the next three days delivered and as long as I was okay with taking a floor model they promised to get it to me two days later (which they did). The prices were great and Mueller's is very good with haggling and throwing in perks. I ended up getting three bedroom sets, a dining room table, kitchen table and living room set delivered to me in two days. The delivery guys were great and polite and stayed in contact with me so that I knew the precise time that they would arrive (perfect for those who need to do errands in the interim). I will definitely go back to Mueller's for more furniture in the future! read more

She explained I could pick my wood and stain. The dresser alone was $4777.00. When I said this was more than I wanted to spend; she told me perhaps I would be happier at weekends only. A 5-Star review is not high enough! They deserve a 10 on a scale of 1-5 --- I found myself in a tough situation... a Flexsteel sofa that I had purchased less than a year ago was damaged. The local furniture store I purchased it from in Collinsville had closed up business. I wasn't sure what to do... I called Mueller and they immediately began working on a solution for me! I called on a Monday by Wednesday they had someone at my house looking at the sofa - they took it that day to begin repair. Two weeks later everything was done - and rebuilt better than the original!! Delivery took place the next day and the sofa looks amazing!! The best thing was they did this at no charge to me at all - they were able to get Flexsteel to warranty everything. Even though I didn't purchase my furniture from Mueller they went above and beyond to help me.... I now have a new furniture store when the time comes to buy anything else!! It saddens me to write such a poor review, but I feel compelled to share my experience with others looking to invest in new furniture as the holiday season approaches. I too have a house full of some substantial pieces of furniture from Mueller furniture - currently 2 entertainment centers, a kitchen dinette set, a large coffee table, sofa table, 2 end tables, an entryway table, several accessories, a sofa and chair and a half. My last 3 purchases are where my trouble began and were never resolved. I purchased a couch and leather chair because I loved the style, it was comfortable, and it matched my decor perfectly. I loved it. Within less then a year, all cushions were broken down. I thought no biggie, I needed to run up to the store and purchase a new entertainment center for another room, and this is under warranty. I was sure I would be taken care of, especially since I am a repeat customer. Silly me for assuming. The store ended up sending out their "repair team" to look at my couch and chair. The repair team, after inspection, informed me I bought poor quality furniture, and this was normal wear and tear. I have never worn out a coach in my life, so this was a first. It was also a first to learn that such a substantial purchase made at this store was considered "poor quality/low end". This description wasn't part of the sales process, and I didnt realize this store was considered low end and lesser quality. Well, several weeks later my new cushion inserts arrived. The "repair team" moved the foam around in the back cushions, inserted the new foam inserts to the seat cushions, and educated me in caring for furniture by rotating cushions (ok, duh). They warned me though, "....you will have the same experience, because you purchased poor quality furniture". Ugh! Well, they were right. The cushions broke down again. Within 2 years of purchase, I had a living room full of furniture that is unable to be used. I still do. When I asked for a partial credit (something) towards "better quality furniture", I was refused. I spoke to the manager, the owner and nothing else was done to fix the sofa and chair either. No one ever checked the frame. So today, when friends and family come to visit, we pull in chairs from the kitchen so folks don't feel like they are sitting on the floor, or need help getting out of the couch or chair as they are nearly sitting on the ground. In the middle of this, I was naive enough to have purchased an entertainment center here, while waiting for my new cushions The unit I purchased was light cherry, they delivered dark cherry. Not what I purchased. When the new unit came, it was damaged and needed touch up from the "repair team". They touched it up with the wrong color, and the streaks are visible today. So, long story short, I loved shopping here for many years and was surprised that this local business didn't try to make any of the above issues right. Upon providing feedback at all levels, I was consistently treated as if I did something wrong for doing so, i.e., I bought poor furniture, I didn't specify I wanted light cherry vs. dark cherry stain after I paid for the light cherry corner entertainment unit. I offered solutions vs. the folks that should have been offering them. So, with that said, I am the customer that tried to let the owner fix the situation, to no avail. I will still be shopping local, and will be shopping Peerless in FVH or Home Furniture in Collinsville for my new living room set this month. Just like I did when I purchased a new dining set and side board last year, which arrived just as I ordered and is perfectly in tact a year later. The time frame for ordering parts for furniture purchased originally from Mueller furniture is ridiculous, and customer follow up is even worse. The excuse given is "You know it is Amish Furniture ." The piece was ordered in early June, but not paid for until mid-June. When originally ordered we were given the same line and told: "it could take 10 - 12 weeks, but we will try to expedite the order." No calls from Mueller to update on the status, no contact of any kind. The sales person that took the order originally, suggested that the particular table usually came with two leaves, but had no thoughts as to why the one we bought only came with one leaf. I've used Mueller Furniture for years. The selection is great and the sales staff doesn't pressure you at all. They're just really, really helpful. I've been to other stores and the staff truly doesn't know what they're talking about. Not at Mueller's. Excellent products too. I have Amish pieces that are gorgeous, and a cedar lined cherry finished bedroom suite. The location is easy to get to and really charming since they remodeled it with Flexsteel showroom. The staff seemed to friendly and eager to help. We ordered furniture from a catalog and were surprised by what we received. The power recliner rocker does not have buttons on the side like the sofa. We had told the salesman what we wanted with buttons on the side and was told yes it had the buttons on the side to operate the chair. WRONG, it has a cord like a lift chair. Customer Service from Mr. Mueller is non existant. After being told items were in stock then oops when it's time for delivery they had to be ordered. A month later furniture was delivered smelling like cigarette smoke. Once I had them aired out the Flexsteel recliners were very uncomfortable and the cushions extremely hard. After a week I called to complain about the cushions, wrinkles, and the chair not staying in full recline. A week later the service men came and looked and said they would get back to me. That I was too short to keep the chair in full recline. After not hearing anything I left several messages for Mr. Mueller who never called me back. Finally he answered the phone and treated me like dirt. Honestly I have dealt with alot of companies in the past and have never been treated so terrible. Bottom line I spent alot of money for furniture I can't use. Hopefully Flexsteel will realize Mr. Mueller does not represent their company very well. If you care about service after the sale take your business elsewhere I know I will never set foot in the store again. Mr. Mueller you should be ashamed of the way you talked to me. We purchased almost $7000.00 worth of furniture from Mueller Furniture. Two of the five pieces purchased turned out to be damaged. The first piece, a buffet and hutch, was dented in two places and the doors were not lined up correctly. The delivery person told me that it looked as if it had been damaged in shipment. They took it back the same day they delivered it, repaired it and returned to me. Upon inspection I noticed more dents in the wood. The second piece in question is a leather love seat. When my husband went to sit in it he could tell that it was very unstable. The store came back out and found that the chair was indeed broken. A wood block underneath the couch that held it together was broken in half. The store took the broken half the love seat back to the store leaving me with half a loveseat and two sharp metal rods exposed. After explaining my situation to some people, I realized that it was not unreasonable to ask for my furniture to be replaced with undamaged items, as opposed to repaired. I did not purchase scratch and dent furniture. I called the company and asked to speak with the lady who sold us the furniture (she has not called since I have been having this trouble), she was busy so the person who answered the phone asked if he could help. I told him that we would like to have our furniture replaced with undamaged pieces. He immediately refused and sounded mad at me. He told me that they were doing everything to repair my furniture and that I was being unreasonable. I acknowledged that yes, they were trying to repair it, but I did not buy damaged furniture that was in need of repair and again stated that I wanted undamaged as opposed to repaired furniture. He stated that this is the "nature of the furniture business", "everything gets damaged". I said fine then I would like to have a discount on my furniture due to the damage and time spent trying to get my furniture repaired. At this point he got more upset, refused to give me any form of discount, told me that there was "no way to please me", so "here is what I am going to do, I am going to come and take your furniture and refund your money. How does that sound?" (Lynwood Mueller). The store came and picked up my furniture today and on the way out the door my husband noticed another big dent on the bottom of the hutch.
