I previously wrote a really good review about Ashley furniture mostly because Vivian was AMAZING as a sales person. I still very much believe that. However since the process went out of Vivian's hands it has been a nightmare. The customer service after has been awful. Ashley Furniture "corporate" who does the delivery service is the worst and the store has zero control over the process after you buy. The corporate reps stated that the managers at this store were misinformed, should know better, and were liars. Do yourself a favor and don't get in the middle of this store vs corporate disconnect. I've never experienced worse customer service. Trust me, it was so bad that I canceled my $4k+ sale. My advice: hire more people like Vivian and hire less of your awful corporate customer service delivery people. read more

I ordered my furniture on February 24, 2021. I was told my wait would be 8 to 12 weeks (not ideal, but okay). My estimated delivery date was April 25, 2021. That date came and went. Finally I called the beginning of June. I was told that they still do not have all of my furniture (I ordered complete bedroom sets for my children, a bed frame for myself, and a couch and loveseat), obviously a substantial order. I finally get a delivery date and it got changed. Another date is set, the delivery was confirmed with a tome frame was set for between 9am and 1 pm. At 1:30 I still have no furniture, so I called. They should be there shortly they finish the stop before me and are about 20 minutes away. At 2:35 I got a call telling me my delivery was canceled, the driver got sick. I arranged the delivery when I could be off from work. I am told I would get a call to reschedule shortly it should be Saturday. Nope no phone call. I called today because nobody called me. I get told the earliest I can get my furniture is now July 13. What does this mean? I must take off another day in order to get my furniture. 5 months of no furniture is unacceptable!!!! I am very unhappy with my experiences with Ashley's. There was a lack of communication as well as an attitude of nonchalance regarding my time, money and lack of beds for my children. I was at Ashley on December 27th 2019 . I order a new bedroom set Dresser,mirror, chest and a TV stand.I had already pick out what we wanted a month before ,we spoke to a wonderful on floor sales manger James A. went over all we wanted we said we plan on coming back to order,he gave us his card and we went on our way. Now to 12-27-19 walk in was attack as soon as we went in told Jeffrey Fields the salesperson we already know what we want and are working with James A. he told us he was out and he would help we had a quote on the card from James and Jeffrey then told us he could not give us that price and then told us to he would go to his manager Lamont . He instead went to his computer and came back told us a different price higher of course we told him we will let him know if we needed any more help and thank him . He never left us alone my husband told him to walk away at least 10 times we finley had to raise our voice to please leave us alone. I went straight to the store manager Lamont he then took care of everything and told Jeffery to give us the price we had been quoted and fill out the paperwork I told Lamont that I did not want him to receive the commission that I wanted James A. to get it . Now today we Just got our last piece of furniture it is February 29th ,2002.From the order and delivery it was a nightmare. They came to deliver 1-25-20 I had to turn to pieces away because of damage and the back of the TV stand was soaked from rain.It only went down from there . I tried to contact Haddy who is the district manager left massages ,was told Lamont and James are no longer working at the store in Wilmington DE. I had to keep calling I never got a phone call from anyone. I will never recommended Ashley furniture nor go back. Let me also say my house ids furnished from Ashley I will tell everyone who tells me how nice I got it from Raymour and Flanigan furniture. I HATE them. Their customer service is poor. My couch has been delayed over 4 times and the only reason I know that is because I had to call them. I spoke with someone on the 8th of october and she said she would call me back that day and NEVER did. I called and spoke with the manager in duty and expressed my concerns all she said is "ok, come get a refund." EXTREMELY disappointed. read more

UPDATE: after getting a response on here that my message would be passed along to management NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME. I reached out yesterday to RAE who informed me she is no longer the manager but she would pass my message along . I still have not received the refund for the couch I was accidentally charged for , it's been over a month and I still have not gotten it. My complaint to the BBB was finally answered but it was very apparent who ever responded didn't look into anything at all. They said the couch was picked up . THAT'S IT, nothing about the money I'm owed. I even attached the receipt that showed the amount I was supposed to be refunded that was signed by RAE. I keep trying to call the store but no one will answer. This entire situation has been a horrible nightmare. I bought this couch right after I lost my baby hoping something would take my mind off the pain , but now every time I even look at that couch I'm reminded that all it has brought me is anger. No one should have to harass a store for their money back when it wasn't my fault. The sales woman put an extra piece of furniture on the order and I've been dealing with the ramifications of this ordeal for over two months. I will start off positive, Orlando was amazing salesmen! He helped me pick out the furniture I wanted. He didn't pressure me and offered the best deals right away. I did change my order a few times due to the space in my current apartment. The manager was very helpful and gave me the same discounts. I did have to change my order a second time and the other manager James seemed helpful at first, gave me the same discounts. Fast forward to 6/5 I finally get the confirmation for my order and its incorrect. I call the store and was advised everything will arrive correctly today which it did not. I feel the manager mislead me and lied, which I do not appreciate!!! I spent a lot of money in this store and now I have to order new furniture due to misinformation. I do not recommend this store. I want to give 0 rating. But if you do shop here, ALWAYS look online and compare the prices online to the store prices. This store scams you. They list the price of a dining room table at $1000 or more, then cross it off and put it as half price to make you think you are getting a great deal. I bought a table and chairs at Ashley furniture in 4130 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. The cost in the store was one price. I went home that night and the cost online was $150 less. I scheduled with James for delivery on Monday, Sept 30. On Friday, Sept 27,I received texts that the furniture would be delivered Sat. Sept 28. I called Ashley store and cancelled and said I never agreed to Sept 28. I was told that Ashley doesn't deliver on Mondays so she was not sure how Sept 30 was agreed on. I called Ashley store twice on Friday, in the day and at night to cancel. I rescheduled. On Sat, Sept 28, I got a text that the furniture was 10 minutes away. I was not home. I called Ashley store and there was no note in the system that I had cancelled for Sept 28 delivery. I don't know why as I called twice on Sept 27. I know people make mistakes but this was one that wasn't fixed even after 2 calls I made to confirm my cancellation. read more

The service of this store is the worst. I went in with my family to look around. When I asked if they had a book or catalog where we can see more options, the sales lady suggested we look online rather than showing us some options based on our description. That was fine enough, but I ended up see a set of Coffee tables I liked, but didn't want to buy that day (this was during Labor Day sale). The sales person told me that if I don't buy it today only, the price will go up because the labor day sale will end. I was still not sure about it and was discussing with my family when she again reiterated that the price will most likely go up if I call back 2 days later. I ended up buying the tables and agreed to pick them up a few weeks later at the warehouse. 2 days later, I check online and was surprise to see the items I purchased were actually $80 LOWER than what I paid during the "labor day sale." I called the store back and spoke to the same sales lady who informed me that once you purchase something, they don't adjust the price. I pushed, so she put me on hold and came back and told me the manager agreed to send me a gift card for the difference I paid and she would mail it that day. 1 month later, I never received said gift card, so I called the store again. The lady who picked up informed me that the previous sales lady I had worked with was no longer working with the store, the manager at that time (4 weeks prior?!) was also not working there, and there is nothing noted in my invoice, so they cannot do anything. She went and apparently spoke to the new manager as well who said there is nothing they can do (didn't take the 10 mins to get on the phone to speak to me in person either). I sent an email online to customer service and was given a generic response. I would not recommend anyone shop here. In addition to the above mentioned incident here are some other things noted from the experience: Once you place the order, you cannot changed your mind, they charge a restocking fee. I want to note that the tables which I bought from here have fluctuated multiple times in price since the first time I bought them. For example, 7 days ago they were $400, today they are $339 (and 3 weeks back they had been $300). Seems like they pick numbers out of a hat to determine pricing. I bought over 10K of furniture from Raymour and Flannigan and have to say their customer service and quality of furniture is excellent and I highly recommend them. They will schedule deliveries in advance, deliver within the week, take back the furniture if you don't like the way it looks in your home, the sales rep worked with us closely and was super helpful, etc. Basically they are everything that Ashley's is not. read more

I should have been the ideal customer - I knew what I wanted, and wanted to buy it today. I found it quickly and talked with a salesperson. I asked if there was any negotiation room on the price; he went to check and returned 10-15 minutes later. I asked another question and he went to check with the manager again; another 15 minutes. While I was waiting and waiting, I had time to go on my phone. At Ashley Furniture online, I was able to get the exact same item $50 cheaper. If the managers think that the "car salesman" "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" approach is making people buy or think that they are getting a special deal, they are wrong. Your delay is costing the store sales and money. Your duplicitiousness is disappointing and dishonest. You should be able to match the online price at the very least. Worst place to deal with. If I could give negative star and would have done it. Placed an order for sofa and loveseat in May 2019 and paid it through their store credit card. After so many delays in delivery, finally they cancelled my order because of product non - availability. Now the problem is they are not removing pending charges from credit card even after 2 months. When I call or email they are not responding properly. Already made many visits to the store and the manager will not be available when I go there. I've contacted corporate who can't help because this is a franchise location, they sent an email to the district or regional manger Chip who hasn't gotten back to me. I've called the store well over two dozen times and the manger refuses to return or answer my calls. The delivery men left when they found out pieces were missing and they also scuffed the piece while putting it together. Back in October of 2019, my wife and I purchased a large sectional for our basement that was in the process of being remodeled. Our salesman, Hector, did a very nice job helping us find the perfect sectional. Unfortunately when the basement was completed (November) we realized the couch was no longer going to fit the area. We spoke with Hector over the phone and he even measured the floor model to confirm the dimensions. Since the couch was not delivered yet, Hector suggested some other options for the same sectional and long story short, we are very very happy with our purchase AND it was still delivered on the same day! My wife and I just bought a house in Philadelphia and purchased 2 sofas and agreed to a $250 delivery and set up charge. The driver's said even before they took the second sofa off the truck that it wouldn't fit and never made an attempt to do so. The only way they would try is if we signed a waiver as they would probably be damaging the walls and ceiling. We obviously didn't want that to happen so they left. Ashley is now trying to charge a 40% restocking fee! Do business with them at your own peril. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! On 3/30/19 I purchased the Tyler Creek dining set with 6 chairs which came with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty, but also purchased a 5 year extended protection plan. We took delivery in late April 2019. In September 2019 we saw that multiple chairs had peeling finishes and cracked wood as well as the veneer finish on the table top peeling away. We called the service number and they told us to call GBS (the protection plan company) which we did. GBS dispatched a technician who told me that the cracked chairs and peeling finish were manufacturing defects and would require replacement and said that I would be hearing back from GBS in a few days. Two weeks later, after not hearing back, I called GBS and was told that since the technician determined that the issues were a manufacturer's defect, they could no longer assist me. I called Ashley Homestore and spoke to someone who had me submit photos by email for review which I did. Again after not hearing back from them, I called again, had to resubmit the same photos to Courtney at Ashley which I did again. I finally received an email from Courtney stating that they had reviewed the photos and determined that it was not a manufacturer's defect and she directed me to call GBS. I asked for a manager to speak to at this point because I informed Courtney that GBS would not help as they determined that it WAS a manufacturer's defect. After a few days, I got a phone call from Shelby at Ashley Homestore who told me that my issues were not covered under their warrantee as the warrantee only cover mechanical issues (which is in direct contradiction to the warrantee card attached to the furniture which clearly states that finishes and wood issues are covered for 1 year). After multiple calls and emails, after multiple submissions of photos, after a technician was dispatched, saw the damage and determined first hand that the issues are manufacturing issues, no one at Ashley will help. I tried calling Ashley's corporate number and was told that since Delaware is a franchise state, that corporate has no say in how they handle anything. I am now left with a damaged table and chairs (that are only 8 months old) that are supposedly still under warrantee, a paid for extended protection plan that won't fix the issues, and I am out the money for both with neither the warrantee company (GBS) nor Ashley Furniture willing to either make good on repairs or refund my money. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would! The sales person started off great but when I got home I realized they ordered the wrong mattress so I called and they said they'd fix it and email me a new invoice, which I never got. Then they call me a couple days later that the item I wanted is not available and should not have been on the floor and offer to give me a similar mattress at the same cost I already paid for my trouble even if it was a little more. Still felt ok about the experience at this point. I picked out a new mattress, never got a real invoice for the new one but was promised the order be placed when the manager or whoever came in. Over the next 7 days I called many times trying to get information and both the sales person and store manager gave me the run around and said they'd call back or do this or that and never did. Mind you, I paid 'cash' (personal card didn't finance) so they had my money already. Finally I showed up after 10 days and the sales person spotted me in the parking lot getting my kids out of the car and... this is where it gets good... he literally booked it to his car, got in, and drove off! Later the assistant manager (Scott - first helpful person I dealt with in days, shame he works at Ashley because he seems like a good guy) called the store manager who was off and I overheard them talking that he couldn't find James. I said that's because James flew the coup when he saw me. Job abandonment much?! anyway, Scott finally said look the mattress you wanted was clearance and the comparable type of mattress is not and we can't give to you at basically an 80% discount. Obviously, I thought I was getting a fantastic deal so that's why I even stuck it out that long and I told him that. I said so basically everyone gave me the run around to avoid telling the truth, that a mistake was made?! He said point blank, YES. Needless to say I took a full refund and went elsewhere! Buyer beware! These people running a complete you know what show here and don't have a clue about customer service. EDIT: See that generic 'oh, we're sorry below'... Yeah, I emailed them in the midst of all this on 8/22/18 and have yet to hear anything a few weeks later. It's definitely a dead end inbox so don't even waste your time. read more

I'm only giving one star because that is the only way to post- it should be a negative 5 stars- avoid this place at all cost! Purchased a bedroom set and they have broken commitment after commitment for three going on four weeks and still no furniture. The stall tactics are the only thing they have mastered. They never return phone calls as promised, I always had to initiate contact with them. Staff are unprofessional and after nearly 4 weeks of nothing but broken promises we requested a refund. We will see if the refund is processed since that seems to be our last resort. They also won't give you a confirmation code that it was canceled or refunded and will not provide a receipt. read more

Store has a good selection of furniture and we found the bedroom group we loved, but they LIE about their sale. For Memorial Day they advertise 50% off and free delivery. They are not offering 50% off their prices listed but off their HIGH prices they put out for the sale. Then to get the free delivery you have to spend over $1200.00. This is not listed anywhere but they point out the small print on the bottom of SOME TAGS "see employee for info". Even after that my partner and I found the bedroom we loved and then we were told we would to wait 4 weeks and then you will get a call to set up delivery that could take up to another 2 weeks. Scott our salesman said this was due to they have been so busy from the holiday sale. We were the only two people in the HOT store. We were told by a lady working there the air is broken and they dont know when it will be fixed. We decided to leave and after looking on line we found the prices on their own web page were less than their advertised 50% off sale. We called the store and they said they could honor the web prices but we would have to pay the delivery fee due to "they are not offering free delivery online" I asked to speak to a manager and Scott said he was the manager so i asked to speak to his boss. Scott said he would tell us the same thing, that if we match internet prices then we have to match it item for item, fee for fee. After giving the store 2 chances to earn our sale they seem they dont care if they sell to us or not. This is definitely not a complaint about Ashley Furniture as a whole, this is a complaint about this specific franchise on Concord Pike. My boyfriend and I spent a great deal of money on a couch, and are being treated terribly. You can usually solve a problem with speaking to a manager, not here. We bought a brand new $400 chair from this store and it came with pink stains on it. (Hint there's not supposed to be any pink on this chair). I was hoping the store would simply offer to send someone to clean it, but they wanted to charge us for a cleaning even though the chair was brand new. Salesmen just wants to sell / promise free lamps(which are yet to be delivered) never takes care of the order for months. It took us many phone calls to many different numbers to get answers for our furniture delivery dates. they sent in floor chairs(we had paid for brand new). They had issues with our server (none of the stores in US had that piece of furniture left) they had 1 available which we accepted to take since the dining table was already delivered but that server ended up from floor too with rust on cabinet frames. no body was ready to take ownership of all this mess including the manager/salesman/customer service/warehouse people. I have truly learned my lesson... I was one of those people that was swept off my feet with very low prices for a set of furniture. If you're just going to look at it then that's well and good but if you're actually going to use it then I'm sorry to say, they are not going to last. The photo below is a recliner, and the bottom half has been covered because of how hideous it now looks with all the peeling. The other photo is a chair from a dining table set, I also had to cover the other seats with fabric because of peeling. I have a couch that is now supported with an inch thick of particle board if not, you'd sink lower than the coffee table. I have 2 other chairs that are also sunken and needs extra cushions to make you feel comfortable. These were all Ashley purchases! The first year was great, but as a piece of investment (although not as expensive as other brands, it was still a good chunk of hard earned money) you expect them to be around for a while with proper care. Not these ones, they are just poorly made, it just looks pretty. Also, be careful with the smooth talking sales people, they'll say it's leather, it's top of the line, it's this and it's that... you're really not getting a great deal out of it if it starts breaking down after a year. Definitely no more Ashley Furniture for us!!! read more

My fiance and I were looking to furnish our living room, so we asked our friends and were recommended to ashley furniture. The initial service was great because we were about to spend some money. We went ahead and made a purchase on November 19th 2017. We were told our order would be delivered 7 to 9 weeks. Nine weeks went by but received nothing.... so, I called to find out where my couch was but no one would give a straight answer. It took a week to hear from the manager. Her explanation was my order fell through the cracks and mind you, I followed up during the 7 to 9 weeks and was told my order was received and and to expect it. ANOTHER nine weeks went by and I still didn't have a couch. The manager then told me it will take another 9 weeks for me to get my couch. So, I now have to wait 18 weeks all together to receive my couch. On the day of delivery we find out they had ordered the wrong couch. I called the store again to speak to someone about it and got hold of the manager who then told me to call her on during the week. She gave the day to call... and when I called, i was told she didn't work that day which seemed odd because she was the one who gave me the date. I managed to get hold of her to Express my frustration and disappointment. I held my tongue and didn't use profanity but she hung up on me. It felt like they were giving the couch to me for free and I was bothering them by asking them where my couch was. I had every right to ask where my couch was since I paid a hefty sum for it. It then took another four more weeks to get the couch I ordered 5 months ago. We received our couch on March 24th 2018. The couch wasn't custom. We went with what was available.... and still get screwed. There was no accountability. No one followed up or even apologized. I WILL NEVER SHOP OR RECOMMEND ASHLEY FURNITURE AGAIN! Service is horrible. Never again. The manager, her name was Deena, told my fiance whenever I called to check on the couch, "she wanted to drive her head through a wall." Deena was rude and made us feel like it was our fault. Shame on her. No professionalism. This is my first review ever, because I feel it is necessary to make people/ higher ups in this company aware of deena and the stores neglect.
