I had a wonderful experience shopping with Jude this evening, although our adventure did not start when I decided to finally come into the store , it started earlier in the morning on the phone. I have been searching online for a specific recliner; my husband has wanted one forever. We also needed a matching couch with style but comfort. I called numerous stores as I wanted to come in and test it out before purchasing. Ashleys is the only store who had this specific collection piece on the floor, I had been searching for. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and connected with Jude as I had requested, very pleasurable and genuine to speak with in person as he was on the phone. Jude showed me the recliner I had been searching for , it was quite the disappointed based on color. I was shocked! It was greyer than brown, not really brown at all but earth toned grey. Jude jumped on his iPad and within moments matched me with the perfect set. Better then the one I fell in love with before . I am not one to purchase furniture without actually trying it out, but I read all the reviews, loved this color , price and with the excitement and anticipation of a new recliner for my husband I jumped on this DEAL. Purchased a new mattress and frame (nearly 2K). Along with two pillows that were way overpriced (my fault). I decided to return one of the unopened pillows that was still factory sealed. I was later told that I could not be refunded, however, I could be issued a $300 in store credit. Shame on me for not asking about the refund policy. I should have read through the receipt before signing, yet their printer was not working at the time of purchase so I was not able to do so. I will never shop here again. It took twenty minutes to pick up an order I was told was waiting at the back door for me because no one answered the back door bell (they claim it never rang all the times I rung it.) I even called the phone number for my sales rep and talked to her and told her I was outside waiting. But she didn't tell anyone And I still waited another ten minutes after talking to her. And then they cancelled my delivery because the salesperson put down a number I told her was phone calls only and not the number I told her they can text, even though she told me she changed it. We purchased a loveseat in August. The store never called to tell us it was in, we had to call them to set up the delivery date. On the delivery date no phone calls, nothing they never showed. I had to call them back to reschedule it my, phone number and address was confirmed twice. Today was the second delivery day, no phone calls no messages nothing and again they never delivered it. We had to call the store again and they had my phone number wrong when it had already been verified three times. This store is so incompetent zero customer service!!! Worst shopping experience I ever had. One star is too much for them. Placed order 6 months ago. Got several texts to schedule my delivery but the delivery never came. Called their call center at least 7 times. They would schedule the delivery and the delivery would never happen. Called 3 times to just cancel the order. They say a manager has to call me and they never call. I feel like they intentionally ripped me off and I will never get the furniture or my money back. Currently looking at legal actions. I would gladly dump $5,000 or more to see justice against them. Why not, I am already out $2,000. We knew it would take a while due to Covid, but that is not the issue. If I could give this company zero stars I would. We went into the store in early September to order a new mattress and adjustable base. We specifically asked before purchasing how long it would take for delivery and were assured that it should only take 2-3 weeks and that the items were in stock. We set a delivery date for 9/22 on that date and we were pretty happy with the situation. We used the store credit we received from the purchase to buy a pillow which was supposed to be delivered within a week. We took off work and waited for delivery on 9/22. The delivery never occurred and we received no phone call letting us know that the delivery was delayed. We contacted customer service and they assured us that the deliver would take place on 9/27. Everyone is dealing with delays due to COVID and staffing shortages so we understood and planned on taking 9/27 off work for delivery. Again, we waited for delivery on 9/27 and the delivery did not occur and we also received no notice that the delivery was delayed. The following day my spouse went into Ashley Homestore to figure out what was going on. They were apologetic and indicated the item was not in stock and scheduled a new delivery date for 10/19. Again, we were patient with the situation as we understand that most companies are having supply chain issues. We were hopeful this time as we received communication regarding our delivery dates a few days before and sent confirmations that we were going to be home that day. We again took the day off work on 10/19 and waited for the delivery. We called midway through our delivery window to confirm that the mattress would be delivered and we were told by their customer service that the delivery had been cancelled for 10/19, would not occur, and that we needed to go to the Ashley Homestore to see what was going on. We went to the Ashley Homestore and the sales person looked up the order, they indicated that they were unsure why the mattress was delivered prior, but indicated that mattress was taken off of the truck in Chicago for an unspecified reason. They were unable to resolve the issue because at the time there was no manager working at the store. They assured us they would send an expedited email to corporate and their management to address our issue and that we would have a response within three (3) hours. We received no response from their corporate and management. Later that day before closing we went into the store and cancelled the order requesting a full refund. They instructed us that we would have to return the pillow we ordered with the credit from the purchase. Only problem is we never actually received the pillow from the initial order. Needless to say we were disappointed with this experience as it cost us three (3) days of work and multiple trips to the store. We had broken down, removed, and sold our other bed frame prior to 9/22 so we have been sleeping on cots and twin mattresses for the past month or so. My spouse is 30 weeks pregnant so this has not been the most ideal situation. Accurate and timely communication from Ashley Homestore could have helped us avoid this situation. The good news is that we ultimately ordered a really nice mattress from Mattress Firm and have had a great experience thus far. Should have went with them in the first place. read more

So disappointing! The associates at the store were really nice and helpful, the experience at the store was great. Unfortunately, their products are trash and their post-sale customer service is TERRIBLE! We ordered a sofa and a coffee table set. The day after the sofa arrived the tufting came undone (no one had even sat on it yet. we're remodeling our second home, so no one is living in it). We had to call SIX times to get someone to help us and they said there was nothing the could do and that they would file a ticket with the "repairs" department and we'd just have to wait for them to call. We've been patiently waiting and are yet to hear a word from them. And then, our coffee table set was supposed to arrive a week ago and we still haven't received it. I called today to check the status of the order and found out that they pushed the delivery date out 3 WEEKS without notifying us. Such a terrible experience! Don't go to Ashley Furniture. My husband and I went into Ashely Furniture in Woodhaven, Mi and ordered a living room set. We were told it would be available for delivery on September 14, 2022. We told the salesperson that we cannot have deliveries during the week so she told us she set it up for Saturday September 17, 2022. No one contacted us regarding delivery. My husband called and was told the furniture is not available yet and it will be a few weeks. He was also told that we cannot have it delivered on a weekend. If we cancel we will be charged 10%. I purchased a table and 6 stools in January 2020. My salesman strongly suggested I purchase the insurance ($190.00) because of the stools. He said the stools covered everything. on Christmas Day 2022 my son notice that the welding was broken on one of the stools. I called the insurance they said frames aren't covered. I went to the Ashley store they were very nice but also said it wasn't covered and that my salesman was new. I'm very disappointed that Ashley does not stand behind their furniture. I received a call the recliners I ordered won't be ready til who knows when since each person has given me a different date! I was given a delivery date for my couch and then was told that evening the date was changed and they don't have my couch either! Ashley Furniture customer service and upper management: Date: Jun 30, 2019 On Friday Jun 28, 2019 I visited your Woodhaven MI location located at 19820 West Rd, Woodhaven MI . I dealt with xxxx ales agent. I am HIGHLY upset with his customer service. When he was looking up a price for me. He pulled up the web cam on his laptop and was taking photos of me with him in the photo. This is NOT PROFESSIONAL. I asked him why, he denied it. But I heard the camera click and seen it appear on his screen. He said to me oh no I'm not. I then told him I was a professional photographer and am very aware how they work and the sound they make. The screen came up and it focused right on both of us. Once I told him that he turned a very bright red color in his face. Why is he taking potential customers photos? As proof he talked to them etc to make quota? If I had kids with me I would have went off on him for taking photos of me and my family. I want to know what the exact purpose this serves. I could not get out of there fast enough, this has been bugging me ever since. I find this type of activity very shady and extremely unprofessional. I ordered bar stools from the Woodhaven store, when delivered the cushion was not attached to one of the frames, they other chair only had 1 screw holding the cushion to the chair. I called customer service (that was a joke) was told they would order screws, it would be 7 to 10, and once I received the screws to call and they would call me back within 48 hours to schedule a service call. I decided this was already to much! Visited the store to ask if they could take them back!! No returns allowed! The customer service is horrible, they tell you that their supervisor is in a meeting and the manager did not come in today! But you will get a call back 3 hours!! I have been in the customer service business for 40 years, and never heard of a company with this poor service! Horrible customer service-rude-abrupt. I ordered TV stand and towers. We picked them up from Farmington Hills and the next day set them up. I called before they were out of the box because they were damaged. I was told someone would contact me within 24 hours--- it's been 1 week still NOTHING. I contacted my salesperson- who lied and said I see you picked it up in the 5th- there's nothing she could do but had me contact the Cust service --- who hung up on me! Cust Service was RUDe and said "we have no return policy". I was floored and said, you've got to be kidding me," and this rude .trained" person hung up on me the. Sent the call to 'rate your service today'. The Woodhaven store manager said she'd try to apply for an exchange on merchandise--- said she'd get back with....... If there was an option for zero stars that's what they'd be receiving. I ordered only a bed frame with a headboard and two small side tables on August 11, 2020. They were supposed to be delivered on September 1st. When I purchased the furniture I was told I'd receive a text with 3 different delivery time options and to chose one. I didn't receive any call, email or text on September 1st or prior to chose a delivery time. I tried calling the Woodhaven, MI location to get clarity on my order and they informed me it would now be September 15th. That day came but no furniture. I tried calling the Woodhaven store but their phones were saying they were still closed, even though the website stated they opened at 10 AM. I tried calling up until 12 PM and their phones still said they were closed. I had to call the Westland store to get answers on when my furniture would be delivered and she said now its the 24th. When I finally got a hold of someone at the Woodhaven store I told a woman to leave a message on a managers desk and I wanted a call back by the end of the day. No one ever called me, I emailed corporate and no one ever emailed me back. After not getting my order delivered on September 24th and not being able to get a hold of anyone no matter how I try to contact them, I then went to the Woodhaven location, spoke with a manager who told me she promised my furniture would be delivered October 1st. That day came, still no furniture. I tried calling the store well within their hours, of course the machine said they were closed. I called Customer Service and was on hold for 45 minutes to be hung up on. I then went to the store to cancel my order and whomever the female manager was that day didn't take any accountability for their phones not working, no one getting back with me, my furniture not being delivered, being strung along and having my delivery days change on me every single time their re scheduled ON THEIR END. I told her to cancel my order that I can't afford to keep changing my work schedule because they can't get their services right. I was told within 7-10 days a refund would come back on my credit card and its now been 13 days and still no refund. I tried calling the store today, on October 14th to find out where my return is and of course the machine said they are closed. But they aren't. I called the Warren store and got re directed to a customer service rep where I sat on hold for 32 minutes for her to tell me I need to contact the store. It's really laughable how this company operates their business. There is no way they can claim they are the #1 furniture store in the world. When I was in the store canceling my order there were two others customers having problems just like I was. The reviews online are trash. Family members and friends said this company was trash. I wish I had read the reviews before I shopped here! We ordered four dressers and two bed frames that we were assured, were in stock and would be delivered by December 14. This was a Christmas gift for my children and we emptied out their rooms in preparation for having this furniture delivered. It never showed up and they don't answer their phone so you can't call anyone. We had to go down there twice and they told us the dressers would be delivered first. Three of the four dressers were delivered but now they're saying the fourth isn't in stock and won't be in until the 27th. They're saying now that it's going to be delivered with the bed frames on the 27th. They also told us someone would get back to us to confirm it but we haven't heard from anyone. Also, everyone we speak to tells us they are the manager. I don't know how many managers they have in the store?? We asked for the name of the general manager of the store and were told that his name is Jesse Turner and we asked for his email address but he never responded to the emails we sent him. Paid hundreds of dollars for warranty on my mattress for stains and other sorts to call to get my free cover replacement just to be told it's from another outside company who is also horrible as well. My boyfriend and i ordered a sectional for $1000 and paid in full in the store. We were told it would be delivered on the date we chose, however when we called customer service they said we would not be receiving our couch for another 2-4 weeks and the sales rep should have communicated that with is. Alyssa was very rude to us when we went in the store. we waited in customer service line for what seemed like an hour while alyssa was on her lunch break. obviously we weren't first in line, some poor woman was waiting since noon to speak to her. we got there at 3. she was on her lunch break from noon to 3 o'clock it seemed. such a joke. then she comes out and deals with her people all the while the phones are ringing off the hook. a man behind the counter was LITERALLY playing games on the computer and letting it go to voice mail. i had to call corporate and they told me woodhaven ashley's was privately owned which to me says "we can do what we want when we want for however long we want" clearly..Alyssa B was so rude when it was our turn and told us a date just to get us out of the store. apparently November we will be getting our items...but we'll see. read more

Do not buy furniture from here. They are not up front about anything! First of all, your furniture will not be delivered by Ashley. They use a contractor. When my furniture was delivered the hardware was missing. I was told by the delivery person he would return the next day and put my furniture together and if I noted this on the delivery ticket it would be fine. This was a complete lie. When it became clear he would not return, I contacted Ashley. They said they could get the hardware in 3 weeks!! 3 weeks for 28 screws! To top it all off, when we received the screws there were only 14. Again customer service said it would take at least 2 weeks for the screws. I was not allowed to speak to anyone in a supervisory position. I spent hours on the phone with customer service. I even went back to the store ( there were no customers in the store hmm wonder why? ) and asked them to take the floor sample apart, give me the hardware , and then Ashley could wait for them. I knew they wouldn't do it but I wanted to see if they had any solutions. She said she would credit my delivery charge. I highly doubt this will happen. We bought the rest of our furnishings from Ethan Allen and Gardner White. No problems with them at all. Awesome customer service. On time delivery. read more

I made my purchase on July 21st 2020 at the Woodhaven Mi store. They said delivery on 6 to 8 weeks. At the end of August I got a text letting me know my order was almost ready. Now on the 14th of September, I hadn't received any updates so I went to the store and staff offered me a refund of delivery charges and asked to wait another 2 weeks with the promise of delivery. Waited the 2 extra weeks (Sept 28) and then received a call stating my furniture ITS READY!! so lets schedule delivery. So now its ready but had to schedule delivery yet for another week later. So now were in Oct 7th the promised day has arrived but guess what, I received yet another call stating only one piece of the furniture was ready and now i have to wait another 2 weeks for delivery. At this point we are beyond fed up and upset with this people but we said ok well wait. Oct 21st finally came by and nobody called or text so I tried calling them to no avail since apparently their phone lines are as useless as their service. Now I go back to the store trying to again resolve this issue and find out what's happening. First i was met by this dude wearing like a white coat looking like some mad scientist and when i explained to him my problem he simply handed me over to Nick who now tells me they only had 2 pieces ready (after 3 months of my order) and i had the option to get those 2 pieces deliver in November 7 or wait for the full set until December 11. I asked to speak with his manager, whos name was Alyssa but i had to wait for her to stuff her mouth with her McDonalds meal before she came to me still chugging her drink and well once again after explaining the problem she didn't seem to be concerned once bit. She simply said since we already refunded you some charges there's nothing else i can do so you can either wait till December or cancel your order. At this point i cant just believe this level of mediocrity and they simply offer no sense of urgency to help me. So I told her go ahead and cancel it and refund me my money and thank you for nothing. Selection is alright. But I paid $150.00 for them to install my kitchen table set. On top of the $890 I dropped for my kitchen set. UPS dropped off two huge and really heavy boxes two days after I ordered it when the date was suppose to be a week. So I didn't even have time to get my old table out. But they only dropped off the chairs. The table came 4 day's later. I was told it was full install so these big boxes sat in my living room until the table got here. I weigh 100 pounds so I wasn't able to move them myself. The guys came today and dropped a bomb saying they only install the table. THE EASIEST PART! I am VERY upset over this. $150 to spend 10 minutes putting a table together! I will never buy from this place again. Now I have to buy a whole drill set and put all 4 chairs together. Or pay someone else to do it AGAIN. Nowhere on the website did it say it only does the table and if it did I could have $150 extra dollars right now for my living room set. I would give them a zero if that was possible. This store doesn't deliver, literally. I bought furniture on January 10, and it has now been delayed again until march 6. This is not a custom order! I have been trying to cancel my order for three days but there is a cancellation clause in the contract so that even if it is their fault that you are canceling(like the fact that they don't have your furniture) you have to pay them ten percent. This particular store must have some kind of script for dealing with people who want to cancel because I talked to at least four different people who used the exact same wording to tell me that they would start the cancellation process and have a manager call me back. That was three days and nine calls ago and I still haven't talked to a manager. And don't bother calling the guest response team, because they can't do anything, each individual store makes their own rules. I guess I will be going through with my order because I don't want to give them hundreds of dollars for absolutely nothing but I hope nobody else had to deal with them! Awful company! read more

I have very mixed feelings for Ashley Furniture. The purchasing process was great, the prices were great, and the shopping experience as well. Our furniture quality is nice and I am happy with the products. BUT the delivery and customer services is a NIGHTMARE. God forbid you have any problems because you will not get help. Our delivery was set between 12-3 and when it didn't show up we called, they let us know it was on its way with no other explanation. We called back at 5 and were told it was still on its way and we were stop 9 and they didn't know where they were at. On call 3 at 6:30 we were told that the distribution center was supposed to call and let us know they'd be late. After waiting an entire day they finally showed at 8:00 PM. The customer service rep was extremely rude and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. there was no sort of apology whatsoever. I sent an email to customer service that day and saw no response. I sent another one two days later and got an email back saying to call the number i'd been calling. We filed multiple complaints being told someone would contact us.. nobody ever did. A month later I finally demanded to speak to a supervisor who offered a $100 refund. Everyone involved was rude and irritated. I will never purchase from Ashley Furniture again because of the major customer service problems. read more
