They also have live music on certain evenings which is really nice. There is often a wait for a table. Service varies a lot! Sometimes it is awesome and other times really lacking. The food also varies. My husband loves the tri-tip sandwich, but they often run out of tri-tip, and it can be delicious or dry and tough. I gave up on tri-tip because of the lack of consistency. I really like the brisket burrito. It's even better than the meat plates. And the brisket in general is really good. The sides are pretty good but none of us are crazy about the fries. They also have a kids menu which is nice. And if you save room for dessert, as simple as it is, the hot fudge sundae is a favorite. Over all I would recommend this place. It's a relaxing place to chill, have a meal and a beer, listen to some music or watch a game on the tv, and let the kids run and play so they aren't bored.

Heard about this place from Gareth Eats and Marvelous Muncher, they did not lead me astray! My wife and kid can be pretty picky. For the amount of food we ordered, we would usually have leftover, but we finished the whole thing! * 2 lbs of chicken - so juicy, great taste, especially with that BBQ sauce. My wife usually complains that BBQ is so salty, or too vinegary, not this time. She loved it! * Mac and cheese - Creamy! Cheesy! Good! * Coleslaw - fresh, I think there's a light vinaigrette. I usually like mayo on mine, but I can see how this pairs better with the rest of the food. * Potato Salad - solid, not too salty as well. Just right! * Beans and Rice - I think I should've gone large on this one. So good! * Peach Cobbler - legit. Warm. Peachy. Cobblery. * Sweet Potato Pie - I was surprised, because I usually am not a fan of sweet potato. Tasty, not too sweet! Mr. Coop checked in with us once in a while to make sure we're all good, stopped by and gave me a sample of the bacon. Sweet, real tasty! I'm excited to come back and try the ribs and brisket! Smelled so good coming in!

They have around 4 giant tables inside, so you may have to ask someone if you wanna join them to eat there inside. I had the following below: *Pork Ribs: 3/5 - The ribs were just rough. There wasnt enough flavor and honestly i had to keep drowning in bbq sauce to enjoy them. *Beef Brisket: 5/5 - Honestly the star of the show. So juicy, so tender, literally falls apart. The bbq sauce is a sweet yet tangy flavor and really complemented the combination well. *Pulled Pork: 4/5 - Solid pulled pork. Juicy and soft, spreads apart easily. With the bbq sauce compliments it very well. *Mac N Cheese: 4/5 - Its cheesy, less creamy. It's a solid mac n cheese but I have had better elsewhere or even homemade. This was their packaged meal deal and honestly for $103 it's pretty pricey. This was 3lbs of meat and 2 large sides. I wanted to try a bit of everything just to say I tried it. Overall I would just come back to this spot for the brisket. I think a brisket sandwich would've been better. It's a solid spot.

Pioneer Bbq smokes their meats with white oak which gives their meats a smoky flavor without the bitter aftertaste. Pork baby back ribs were tender and had a smoky aroma and flavor from the white oak.  Dry rub gave the ribs a bit of sweetness from the brown sugar and some spice from the black pepper.  Very tasty. Prime beef brisket was tender and juicy.  Peppercorn based dry rub and the smoky flavor combined with the high quality beef into some delicious brisket. Staff was nice and efficient.  I'll miss this place Chef Hanis created.  I was told I could get the same Texas style bbq at a sister restaurant Del's Hideout which employs the same Executive Chef Tim Eylens.  It was back in 2011 I first sampled Chef Hanis food at Carnitas Snack Shack.  Best carnitas I ever had.  It's been since 2023 when I last saw Chef Hanis at the now closed Carbon Bbq.  I hope he is doing well. https://www.hungryones.com/2023/08/carbon-bbq/ To absent friends, lost loves, old gods, and the season of mists; and may each and every one of us always give the devil his due. The other day, I got the tri tip sandwich with chimichurri. The order came up quickly. I live a couple of blocks away. By the time I was home, the sandwich was cold. Not lukewarm, not tepid, but cold. But the REALLY disturbing thing was the bun/bread. It fell apart, into large chunks, the minute I opened the paper wrap up. A sandwich has two major components, BREAD and the filler. Can't you have decent fresh bread? This seems to be a challenge lately for the Grand Ole BBQ. A couple of months ago, I got the hot links, and they were served on the most run of the mill, grocery store quality, HAMBURGER bun. LINKS, folks, should be on a hot dog shaped bun, not cut up into small pieces and placed on a cheap, round, bun. I can't decide if this is hipsters, serving food and doing it their way, with whatever happens to be available at the moment, or if this is management saying "we don't care about your expectations." It isn't novel, to put links on a hamburger bun, it doesn't make it artsy, or unique, it makes it look like an afterthought. So does try-tip on a bun that wasn't. And the chimichurri- driest, almost oil-free chimichurri I've ever had, I had to add oil, at home, to be able to spread it. Good chimichurri isn't difficult, I make it all of the time. Make an effort people. Restaurant are closing. Disregarding your customer is one quicker way to meet that end.

She knows her stuff-knows how to ask the right questions so that you get what you really want. For instance, I was on the fence about having biscuits and gravy but I asked if the gravy was really peppery. She offered to get me a small taste and although it was delicious, I've been a little under the weather so I decided I didn't want anything really heavy. Instead I ordered the 3 egg scramble with their smoked ham and added cheese-it was really good and a huge serving including their potatoes and English muffin. I'll probably be able to make two more meals from this serving! My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and asked which potatoes they would be able to make the most crispy as we both like our potatoes crispy. She suggested the hash browns and even asked if he wanted them crispy on both sides which was a great way to get them the way he wanted. Those kinds of gestures really make the difference when you're dining out. The eggs Benedict and the hash browns were delicious, btw. :) Camryn had a great personality too-very friendly, bright and quick. She did a great job of checking in on all of her tables. When we go back I hope we are lucky enough to have Camryn serve us again but all of the servers seemed very friendly as well. Great job, Izzy's and Camryn!
