Checked out I Que BBQ and overall it was a solid experience. I went with the dry rub ribs and got the sauce on the side -- ribs were on point, super flavorful and cooked right. Honestly, I originally pulled up for the banana pudding and it did not disappoint. Definitely a highlight and worth getting if you go. Only downside for me was the sides. The potato salad just wasn't it -- potatoes were kinda undercooked and not really my style. This is one of my favorite BBQ spots in San Diego! I love that it's family owned and if you aFalcons fan or a fan of Atlanta, You definitely need to go visit! My go to is their beef ribs, only served on Sundays. They are super meaty and perfectly seasoned. I'm usually not a big fan of potatoes salad but theirs is so good and goes so well worth the baked beans! Parking was notably challenging, requiring a wait to secure a space. Although this may be related to being Mother's Day, it is important to be aware of the difficulty in finding parking. Upon entering the establishment, the owner promptly attended to me, taking my order and answering my questions regarding the collard greens and baked beans. I ordered the beef ribs, which are only available on Sundays and served with a Carolina-style barbecue sauce, along with a side of potato salad, collard greens, a slice of pistachio cake, and peach cobbler. Overall, the quality of the food was satisfactory. The ribs possessed a pleasant smoky flavor and adequate meat content. In my opinion, the potato salad could benefit from the addition of relish, garlic powder, and onion powder. The collard greens would be improved with crushed red peppers and a touch of salt. Amazing! I'm so glad Yelp suggested this place. Easy parking, welcoming environment and delicious food! Porsha greeted us and explained the menu. Came to try this I QUE BBQ . Upon entering we were greeted right away by all the staff, it's such a very welcoming place. I went straight to get a table and let my husband order for us. He ordered the following . *BEEF RIBS *BURNT END *HOT LINKS *PORK RIBS *BRISKET *Sides of POTATO SALAD, CORN BREAD, BAKED BEANS, MAC & CHEESE, and 3 waters. All the meats we tried were all tender and delicious. We were given 2 different sauces, one smokey sauce and one Tangy & sweet sauce. I was so impressed with their Ribs, so tender and delicious. I think we either got a good batch or that's just how their ribs are there, 'coz we had very Big ones! I also enjoyed their Corn bread, we were the last one who ordered it for the day and they were near closing time so we got their last Corn bread and the last one was a big Chuck of Cornbread ! But I hope they also have Jalapeno Cornbread. 5 minutes to closing time a man went around the tables and gave everyone their dessert, I guess instead of throwing them they give it away so it doesn't go to waste. This is the best bbq in town - seriously. It's got that home-cooked flavor. Ribs are tender and meaty and the brisket is A+...smoky and falling apart. My partner and I ordered takeout from here today and they were quick and friendly! We placed an order on the phone for two sandwiches and it was only about a ten minute wait. Sandwiches come with chips automatically, but I highly recommend upgrading to the fries! Their fries are crinkle cut and very crispy on the outside yet not dry on the inside. They're well seasoned too. What we ordered: The SWAT burger- it was a fairly large burger, and it was cooked nicely. Not too dry or anything. I was stranded in San Diego and had to pull over in this plaza due to engine problems of my vehicle. I proceed to go to Denny's and they denied me to be able to plug up my charger to charge my phone. My phone in this situation was at zero as they kicked me out even me stating I will sit and eat if i can change my phone. They establishment denied me as a customer. I will never support Denny's in San Diego ever again. After being denied at Denny's i walks further down the way to this restaurant. The food smells so delicious. I want to buy some good old barbecue, but my mind was in a frustrating position to try to get power to my phone. This company and employees were so nice and allowed me to charge up my phone to 40% and I was able to contact my boss to be able to come and get me down the way, they also allow me to sit in their restaurant as I was completely out their way this restaurant and employees working in this restaurant gets 10 stars times two for their customer service, for their compassion to someone who traveling from Vegas to San Diego. Checking out "I-Que BBQ" for the first time. First off, parking is at a premium, probably because I-Que BBQ close at 3 p.m on Sundays. Atmosphere: good vibes, lots of T.V.'s, lots of tables and seating. Customers coming in, and customers going out. I recommend this business because I noticed that "I-Que BBQ" has several accolades, awards, and acknowledgments. I also want'a say that we normally hear about Texas BBQ, North Carolina BBQ, Memphis BBQ, or Kansas City BBQ. Today, I was made aware that I-Que BBQ" is a Atlanta Georgia BBQ. I never had Atlanta Georgia BBQ before. Giving credit, respect, and props to the owners of "I-Que BBQ". Know that the beef ribs, burned ends, greens, and baked beans that we ordered had flavor. The meal was filling and very satisfying. On top of that, the homemade seasonal dessert, really hit the spot. I've driven by this place 100 times (read great reviews on Yelp) and always thought about stopping but last night the line at Chef John's was out the door so we headed down to try this place... it was definitely a "God shot." We got the "kinfolk" family meal with brisket, coleslaw and cornbread. We eat BBQ all over the world and this place is one of the best on the planet if not the best!! The brisket was smoked to perfection and fork tender, the slaw was also amazing (we are slaw lovers), and the cornbread was warm and out of this world! I can't wait to go back and try all the other items they offer like the burnt ends, mac n cheese, greens... oh and they had some amazing looking desserts which we would have tried if we hadn't already placed an order for pick up at cold stone. We've been driving past "I Que BBQ" for years, but this is the first time we stopped and went inside. We chuckled at one of the signs on the door that said "When we run out, we out". This is a very casual, small, family-style restaurant. Inside, there are a few long tables with plenty of seating and 3 large screens for the sports enthusiasts. Absolutly fine for family dining. My husband and I arrived at 5pm on a Friday night, we were greeted by Tyrone (owner?), as well as 2 guests who were dining-in that night with their baby. The guests were telling us that we are going to absolutely love this BBQ! We were ordering for take out this evening. We ordered from the Mixed Meats Meal menu: choice of 2 meats, 2 sides, 2 rolls. Based on the young dining-in couple's recommendation, and Tyrone's top seller, we ordered the Burnt Ends and also the Chopped Chicken; our 2 side choices were: Mac n' Cheese and the Collard Greens. My husband was eyeing all the homemade sweets, and chose a slice of pistachio cake. When we got home and opened our box, we were very surprised at the large serving of food staring back at us. We both said "wow"! The burnt ends was our favorite of the 2 meats, but that's not to say that the chicken wasn't great too... both meats were sauced nicely, tender and delicious!!! The mac and cheese was creamy and very cheesy, yummy! The collard greens were tender, as good as my homemade greens, with just enough tanginess. We also had a choice of sauces for the chopped chicken and I chose the Spicy BBQ Mustard, this was fantastic, with just enough spice "kick" on the back end. The pistachio cake was excellent, very moist and flavorful! We are excited that our stomachs are happily full, and still have some leftovers for tomorrow. Honestly the entire meal was a 5! I vowed to give them a try. Holy cow! I have just found my new favorite local BBQ spot. I was thrilled when I entered and was greeted by a waft of great smoke. It didn't take long to decide what I wanted. Their menu is right on the counter in easy to read large print. Perfect for an old 4-eyed grandpa. I always judge a smokehouse on their brisket. If they can get that right the rest is all gravy on the goose. I wanted to try another protein and was pleased to see the Mixed Meats Special. 2 meets / 2 sides / 2 rolls. Perfect! I got the brisket, St, Louis style ribs with collard greens and mac n' cheese. The brisket was perfection, the ribs competition worthy, the mac n' cheese had to be made at grandmas and the greens were the best I've had anywhere. My wife ordered the brisket burnt end sandwich which came with a side and drink included. Super tender and full of flavor. Everything was so good I was tempted to give the owner a big old hug. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I will be telling all of my friends and encourage anyone within 50 to make the trip here. read more
