They charge a 200 dollar fee just to come out. They came because my external button on my gas fireplace was not working. We decided to install a remote starter on gas fireplace. I ordered the part that he needed. It happened to be half the cost of his quote for the part. I called them when I got the part to schedule an install. We scheduled for the next day. They didn't show up and called to reschedule for next day. This happened three times!! So finally I said I would find someone else. I have used ashtree in the past for my chimney cleaning and they were wonderful. I contacted them for a dryer vent cleaning. They were fast in responding and getting new an appointment for Thursday afternoon. My appointment came and they messaged to reschedule. We rescheduled for Friday afternoon. I texted, called, and messaged on Facebook between 2:10-4pm. I finally got a text right before 5pm letting me know what had happened and that they could reschedule me again to Saturday at 11. The company partially installed a fireplace insert but never hooked it up to a venting system, making it unusable. We couldn't get a hold of Robert for months. I dislike having to give a bad review to a local business as I like supporting our community. However, I have had a really negative experience with Ashtree. Five weeks ago, after a flood through my chimney, I paid Robert, the owner, to put a cap in the chimney. He took the money. He has not installed the cap and will not return my money. He is very difficult to communicate with as his voice mailbox is always full. When you call his number, his message says to text him for promptg response. He does not respond to texts. He finally texted me last week that he has the cap and that it would be installed this weekend. He was to call me to schedule. It is now Sunday afternoon. He has not called or texted, nor has he responded to my text asking him when he was going to install it. I tried phoning again but his mailbox was full once more. I had plans for today that I cancelled because I did not know if he would show up or not. I am planning to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and to small claims court. He needs to do the job or return my money, I don't care which. He is not doing either. All I can say is that if you plan to do business with him, Buyer Beware! read more

I'm not happy with Ashtree Ac & Chimney. Robert missed several appointments and never completed the chimney repair he was hired to do . I also found out that that I could have received the same repair work for less than half of what Robert charged me. If you use Ashtree, I recommend you ask that the estimate list labor and products separately so you see what you are actually paying for the product and what you are being charged for labor. Ashtree adds a huge markup to the products many of which can be purchased from Amazon for much less. I also recommend you get a second opinion from another company like Lint Sweep in Clovis. I contacted Ashtree AC company to fix my AC. They came the next day which I appreciated very much. Considering how busy they were. They tested what they needed to test and they told me that the Compressor was failing and it needed to be replaced. They advised me to contact the house contractor because it was still under warranty. I told him That It would take a while for them To investigate and we were not in the position of waiting and see if they could cover the cost of not. So I told him to replace everything. He told me he was going to figure prices and make some calls and so he answer me very quick with all the details of the things he needed and the prices. He changed the unit and the coil for a very reasonable price. After installing it he encounter some issues and it took some time but at the end he finished and now we have the new unit working and I hope it last us for a long while. God willing. Very nice people. Friendly and comprehensive. I will call them back again when the time comes so they can do our maintenance. Other company gave us a 2 Week appointment to come and check. Initially I was very impressed which was why when my insert could not be repaired I bought a new one from and agreed to have Ashtree install it. Ashtree's subcontractor came out to install it and walked off the job when he didn't have a tall enough ladder. Now a week later I've been told no one will come finish for at least another week. What was supposed to be a 1 to 2 day job has now become a 2+ week job. Ashtree and there subcontractor are now both putting me in the middle with both of them refusing responsibility for the job or the mess they have both created. Apparently Ashtree does not realize they are in fact legally responsible for subcontractors they hire. The worst part of the situation is neither Ashtree, nor the subcontractor care enough about customer service to even put up a tarp to help stop cold from coming into my house despite my repeated requests that someone come out and do so. I'm not angry about a glitch in finishing my job, rather I'm hurt that the owner of Ashtree, and the subcontractor can't be bothered to stop trying to blow responsibility back off onto each other and be responsible for the discomfort they have caused me by there lack of planning long enough for either one of them to even come out to my home and put a tarp up and ease the cold from coming into my home while I wait for them to finish the job. Before you consider hiring this company I would ask myself, does putting up a tarp seem like such a big request to ease the suffering your lack of planning has caused your customer? read more

I cannot speak highly enough of Robert who came out to troubleshoot my fireplace the night before Thanksgiving. We are in the process of selling our home and I needed someone to come out right away when the remote was not working to turn on the fireplace and we had replaced all the batteries I thought. It was after 7:00 p.m. the night before Thanksgiving I called Robert and he offered to come right away to help. I knew that I could not sleep until this was resolved since the house is closing very soon. We got to talking and I also wanted my AC serviced. We talked some more and I inquired about servicing my dryer vent. We spoke over the phone for a least 23 minutes! And I wasn't even a client yet. He wasn't quick to get me off the phone like some companies. He educated me and we discussed chimneys, AC units, and dryer vents. When it was time for my service.. Job and Ivan showed up. We're in the pandemic so they wore masks which was very much appreciated and wore boot covers inside my home. They serviced my chimney and educated me. They serviced my AC and educated me. They did a very thorough job along with teaching me about the systems. They did not service my dryer vent since I didn't need it so they did not up sale me like most companies. Charged me 189.00 to service my pellet stove , came out told me he really didn't know what was wrong and it might be the control board , he wanted to replace a bunch of things said it would probably cost about 900.00. He left and it still didn't work and we were out 189.00 for nothing . A few weeks later I decided to call quadratic myself , turns out there is a reset button press that and it resets everything , now it works great and I didn't have to replace a thing . I am searching for a reliable and reputable chimney sweep because my old chimney sweep has since retired; his fee was reasonable and he did a good job. I figured I had better look for a replacement since winter is right around the corner and it will probably take weeks, perhaps a month, to find someone new to clean my wood stove. I left messages with 8 companies requesting an estimate, expecting to hear back from, if I'm lucky, maybe three. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call back from six in a matter of four hours...on a Saturday...WOW! So I almost went with the first call back, who also happened to be the cheapest, was knowledgeable, and had several good reviews on Yelp. He said he could clean my stove next week...WOW again! Well, I decided to wait to see what other estimates I would get. One company was ridiculously high and now has a big ol' X across his name. Robert from Ashtree AC & Chimney left me a message with the cost and an offer to come TOMORROW!! On a SUNDAY??? WOW again. I called him back and was immediately impressed with his knowledge of servicing wood stoves and his professional demeanor. Over the phone he determined that my wood stove is in need of a new door gasket and the thorough cleaning. Robert graciously offered to assist me in ordering the necessary part from the stove manufacturer. If all goes well, I think I found me a new chimney sweep that might outperform anyone in the Fresno area. Boy, did I luck out...WOW.
