Ordered the "Dinner for three." First time eating here in quite some time. Overall, very underwhelming. Food was edible but quite bland and many items were unfortunately overcooked. Despite the shortcomings in flavor, the portion size was comparable for the price and on par with expectations. Interaction with staff was minimal but polite and food was prepared for the time I requested. No options to eat in, only take out. Overall if you're really craving quick Asian food and aren't too particular, go for it. Otherwise I'd recommend elsewhere. read more

So thankful to have Chinese for dinner on Christmas! Our service was very friendly, time estimate was accurate and we got our food fresh and hot. Prices could be lowered for the quality of food we got, which speaks volumes as it was already lower than what I usually spend in a nice Chinese American dinner. The menu should be shortened so the cooks can focus on refining more flavorful enjoyable dishes. I stuck with basic favorites airing on the side of caution since I was not ordering from a restaurant I'd eaten at before. We had chicken lo mein, 3/10 I couldn't tell the difference from the sprouts and the noodles just due to overcooking and everything was so mild but with that said nothing tasted bad, I just couldn't taste much besides chicken and oil. Pork fried rice, 3/10 it was very dry and bland. We still had some white rice clumped together in the order. Spring Rolls, 4/10. Over cooked on the outside very soggy and oily on the inside. Beef Teriyaki, 3/10 the meat was cooked correctly but little to no flavor for my favorite meat on a stick. Crab Rangoon 4/10 could have gotten a 7/10 if they put more than a tbsp of filling in the wonton, or even just made smaller crab rangoons had they cut the extra wonton around the edge. read more

From best in the area to worst in the past 5 years ! What happened ?! I keep giving them chances and it just gets worse. Today the duck sauce was bad. Like very old . Bad tasting . No flavor in the food but higher prices . You can't eat there but you should leave money in the tip bowl but charge extra for an extra duck sauce . Absolutely awful! Everything is overly sweet, including the hot and sour soup (which also had an "off" fishy taste). My shu pork was overcooked to mush, burnt when they reheated it and swimming in oil. General TSO chicken just a boatload of mushy fried chicken chunks bathed in some syrupy sauce. Portions are big, probably because they figure the folks up around here just care about getting their guts lined. So it's off to Portland if you want decent Chinese. read more

Got the family meal for 4. The kung pow beef doesn't have any meat, the pork lo mein is overcooked and like mush. I had added a Roast Pork wonton soup, no flavor at all. Its like the place everything in water and served it. It was even cold. I not going to try anything else. This Chinese is so amazing. The crab rangoons are delicious! We usually get a pu pu platter. The duck sauce is literally drinkable. I would dip everything in it. I didn't realize that outside of certain New England states you can't get that delicious golden colored duck sauce. The pork fried rice and pork lomein are our go to's, everytime. The beef with broccoli is my husbands favorite and we usually get two orders. The broccoli is always fresh and the meat is so good and tender. We really haven't had anything on the menu we didn't care for. Each time we've placed an order there's a good size wait. We don't mind as I prefer to get Chinese from a busy spot as I find that the food is more fresh with a quicker turn around. If you're in the area, ORDER! We've never dined in but they do have a small dining area. They package everything very neatly when you order takeout. We can't wait to get back to Maine for an Asia Eatery fix. read more

The people are nice in here but the food-- total no go. My parents lived in China and we grew up with a Chinese community and friends in California so having grown up with legit Chinese food we have a soft spot for good Chinese. Stopped here to try it out to see if it could somewhat fulfill a craving. Ordered kungpao chicken and general tsos tofu. To be honest was not expecting anything amazing, I don't have super high standards when it comes to asian food in this area but oh my goodness it was bad. The kungpao chicken was not even kungpao chicken, just tasted like chicken with celery and peppers with a handful of peanuts sprinkled on top. The General tsos tofu sauce was horrible, basically just a sugar sauce on tofu and perhaps the most disappointing-- the rice wasn't even cooked properly (undercooked). All this for $24... like I said I didn't have high standards but come on. To be honest I've had better at Panda Express. No plans to return and don't recommend for people looking for food to fulfill that craving. read more

We decided to give Asia Eatery a second chance. I called in our order. They asked for a phone number and said the food would be ready in about 25 minutes. Didn't receive a call, and so went in to ask. They said they didn't have a phone number, but pointed to a bag of cold food on the counter. Overcooked egg rolls and the first time I ever ordered sweet and sour chicken and got breaded chicken fingers and extra duck sauce for dipping. LOVE Asia Eatery! Dinner combo portions are immense on their own AND they come with pork fried or white rice and an appetizer; leftovers are good for at least two other meals. I'm a HUGE fan of the Cashew Chicken, Kung Po Chicken Szechuan Style, and the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. I always order with no MSG and get white rice, which I mix in with the leftovers to prevent any sort of next-day dried-out rice situation. My BF loves the Triple Delight with Garlic Sauce with PFR and an egg roll. A few suggestions: 1. Don't order if you're super hungry and in a rush. Good things come to those who wait, and when they say 15-20 minutes, you should probably add an extra 10 minute cushion. It's worth the wait. Just plan ahead, and order earlier than you might normally. 2. Dinner rush starts getting crazy busy around 4:45 and lasts until 6:30 or 7:00 (at least). As I said above, order earlier than you might normally. 3. This place gets MAD PACKED on New Year's Eve. Order HOURS before you want to eat. So. Good! You don't want to be sitting across the street at Mickey D's (or at the car wash next door), eyeballing everyone else jockeying for the handful of parking spots out front or walking out with their freighted boxes of Chinese food while you continue to wait for your order to be ready. Trust me. Been there, done that. Bring a book or go for a ride and check out the holiday lights. And then do it again. It's a small family-owned restaurant and they're working non-stop to make sure everyone gets their order before the New Year. Practice patience. And then practice some more. Enjoy!! read more

From best in town to worst. Was amazing fresh food with homemade thick ducksauce that you could see the applesauce in it. Prices where great and portions were over sized. The dishes looked like they was from the dollar store but that gave it a cooking from home kinda vibe. But that was a few years ago. Today I ordered pork fried rice, chicken fingers, crab rangoons and orange chicken. Pork fried rice was burnt (smelled burnt, tasted burnt and we dug around and found charred rice chunks the size of your thumb mixed threw out.) This is the second time in in a row with a month between orders that this has happened. Chicken fingers were over cooked ( reheated to many times) crab rangoons wasn't anything special like they use to be. But was cooked perfect. Orange chicken was okay the size of the chicken pieces have gotten smaller from when they first open but still tasted good. My rice was also burnt that it came with. But the two side chicken fingers was slightly better then the side order of fingers we got. Ducksauce is a total different recipe the when they first open. Pure liquid. Still tast alright. Groan! Belch! Groan! OK, we came for takeout on New Year's eve. So did about 10,000 other people... we ordered at 6 and were told it would be 45 minutes. It actually took about an hour and 45 minutes, but the wait was worth it, and I'm sure the people in the kitchen were just working their tails off. We got fried wontons, shrimp fried rice, house fried rice, kung pao chicken and kung pao scallops. The food was piping hot and *abundant*. Their sweet and sour sauce tasted different than the standard Chinese fare, but it was good just the same. I plan on coming back here again to eat in on another occasion when they aren't so swamped. read more

I always get the orange chicken and never spicy they always make sure my order is just what I ask for and are very patient because I am such a picky eater. Mother ordered there for my birthday got the wrong order for $47 the we called to let them know then they chared us $37 for the right order then my brother showed up and order wasnt ready they said unaware we were picking it up. Then they messed that order up leaving something out then they charged $18 to add it. We then called while he was there in discust and they then showed him attitude when they brought the food out very bad birthday dinner they lost our business my advice check order or go somewhere else read more

We love the Asian Eatery. We have tried the other Chinese restaurants around this area, but we like this the best. Love the Lo Mein, Chicken Chow Mein, Egg Rolls, and especially the dumplings. They also deliver, very good service, pleasant staff. We have moved here from Worcester, MA, where the Chinese food was exceptional. I have always loved going to Asia Eatery. I was born and raised in this area but moved to Texas a few years ago, yet everytime I visited family up in Maine I always stopped to get food from this restaurant. I even made sure my husband HAD to try it. Well recently I came to visit again and I called for a delivery for lunch. The woman on the phone was very rude and told me I couldn't do delivery. When I asked why she told me it was because the delivery person was out delivering. I couldn't understand why on earth that would mean I still couldn't place an order for delivery. Ive never heard of a place refusing to take a delivery order just because the delivery guy was out delivering. I mean isn't that was he's supposed to be doing? But either way I asked herwhen I ccould place a delivery order and she responded very rudely "i don't know." Guess the costumer service has gone since I was last here.
