my mom and i have tried the best italian food in each city we visit, and this one makes our list…read more this quaint ristorante is just a block or two from washington square. there's outside seating and a small amount indoors. the woman with dark hair at the front was very kind in taking our orders and was very helpful. we opted for a simple salsa parmigiano (cacio e pepe) and black pepper (added freshly ground after pictures) with a rigatoni and a pappardelle. they don't lie when they say everything is homemade. none of the pastas are dried or store bought. both were cooked to perfection and were fresh dough. the rigatoni gives a good bite and sticks to the sauce is it was intended for, but the pappardelle was such a better texture and for me, the flavor as well! it was a tough decision! the sauce is warm, cheesy and delicious while the pepper cuts through and makes such a simple dish all the better. thank you for a lovely dinner. we definitely recommend trying them out as it's on our list of favorites!!

They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but it fills up quickly. I ordered the Rigatoni with pesto, and the fresh pasta was delicious. My friends got the fettuccine bolognese, and it was a great choice! We all enjoyed our meals. If you're looking for authentic, fresh pasta at a reasonable price, I'd suggest checking out this spot.

Their flagship store on Washington St. (https://www.yelp.com/biz/dai-lee-food-san-francisco?osq=dai+lee). After downsizing amidst the great world changes in 2020, they have filled many vacant retail store spaces on Washington as well as Pacific. The original posting for this was just a few doors downhill where they replaced a produce and grocery store. Like their competitor who took over the Asia Garden Restaurant, this group now occupies the former location of the popular Hong Kong Teahouse. As you can see from the photos, it is indeed on a supermarket scale size wise, with spacious aisles and walkways, unlike the original store. Snacks, instant noodles, and dry goods for Asian cooking are what they are known for. They have a refrigerated section with drinks and perishable foods and freezers with dumplings and meals too. If you want to avoid a claustrophobic and typical (not in a good way) crowded shopping environment, you will find this store more enjoyable than the Washington store. Just don't come here on an empty stomach. *** Recent reviews are the result of my recent increase in home cooking vs eating out.

WOW! WOW! WOW! What a great experience last week…read more Was looking for a little something special for Valentine's Day and didn't have a clue. I passed by this Italian specialty food shop and decided to go in. Once I walked in I was greeted by the nicest woman, Julie (or was it Julia sorry), asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I told my V-Day dilemma and she embraced it. She started by going over cheeses and meats and telling me how to make a romantic charcuterie platter. It was awesome!!!!! Then we talked wines and man does she know her Italian wines! I spent probably about almost an hour there and enjoyed every minute. At the end I left with a beautiful wheel of La Tur (and if you don't know what it is go in and find out!!!) and a bottle of prosecco. I will definitely be going back and hopefully Julie/Julia will be working. Good job considering how crazy things are. Thank you!

They have a lot of options in stock here, so I loaded up on spicy chili crisp, chiu chow style chili crisp oil, and some mala red oil chili sauce by the classic Lee Kum Kee brand. I also bought a bag of chewy 陈皮糖 chénpí táng that I saw next to the cash register while I was at it. Altogether after the 3% credit card fee, my total came to $18.08. Such a bargain, I will be back.

Luckily my other half happen to find a parking spot right in front of Golden Way. I had plans to go to the other store, I went last time but this works out perfect. The jumbo dried shrimp right in front of store caught my eyes. Stopped by real quick and got everything I needed, wish I could grab more but I had to limit myself since I didn't bring an extra luggagge. Golden Way, a great name, Lets go shop the Golden Way, reminds me of a store here at Chinatown, although very small cramped store it's very organized. Owner does a great job at storing everything and making use of all the spaces. Lots of Asian products here but no fresh produce or frozen products . Credit cards accepted as well, which is great! I ended up using my credit card for my entire purchase since usually cash is preferred in Chinatown. My co-worker wanted a specific soy sauce but no luck in finding it. What did I end up buying here at Golden Way, a LB of jumbo dried shrimp ( I think it was $24. or 25. lb) dried salted fish, dried scallops, long rice noods, pickled veggies, siracha, sauces, condensed milk, preserved eggs. Why on some of the products, Prices actually lower here. The only thing I wish Golden Way does is have prices on some of products, I had to ask how much?! The owner is nice & patient with me. I will be back again! I can't wait to use all those goodies, it made it safely back to Oahu.
