my mom and i have tried the best italian food in each city we visit, and this one makes our list…read more this quaint ristorante is just a block or two from washington square. there's outside seating and a small amount indoors. the woman with dark hair at the front was very kind in taking our orders and was very helpful. we opted for a simple salsa parmigiano (cacio e pepe) and black pepper (added freshly ground after pictures) with a rigatoni and a pappardelle. they don't lie when they say everything is homemade. none of the pastas are dried or store bought. both were cooked to perfection and were fresh dough. the rigatoni gives a good bite and sticks to the sauce is it was intended for, but the pappardelle was such a better texture and for me, the flavor as well! it was a tough decision! the sauce is warm, cheesy and delicious while the pepper cuts through and makes such a simple dish all the better. thank you for a lovely dinner. we definitely recommend trying them out as it's on our list of favorites!!

Had to check this place out after seeing how busy it was, and it lived up to the hype…read more You order at the counter and grab the first open table, so don't expect table service. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but it fills up quickly. I ordered the Rigatoni with pesto, and the fresh pasta was delicious. My friends got the fettuccine bolognese, and it was a great choice! We all enjoyed our meals. If you're looking for authentic, fresh pasta at a reasonable price, I'd suggest checking out this spot.

It's been a little over a year since my first time trying B&C, and things have definitely changed…read moresince then--in a good way! I definitely feel like the team implementing the 7:45AM start time to line up has helped a lot. Not only is it better for the neighbors, but it also makes the whole experience feel a lot less chaotic compared to showing up super early and scrambling to get in line. Everything feels much calmer and organized now. As for the pastries: To be honest, it really depends on what you like. I'm one that gravitates towards pretty much anything with meat and chocolate. Because of that, most of their savory/meaty and creamy pastries are always a must for me. They're super flaky, flavorful and decadent. You can really tell how much time and effort they put into making everything as high quality as possible, especially since you can see them making everything from the window while waiting in line. All in all, I think there's been a lot of improvement over the past year with some trial and error. Their pastries have always been delicious and I personally think it's worth the wait. I recommend getting to the area closer to 7:45AM so you have a better chance of being towards the front of the line. If not, it's still better to come before opening, I just wouldn't recommend getting there right before they open. By then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything you want since they do run out depending on how many people are there.

    Delicious, definitely not hype and it was worth the 1:15 min wait…read more - Short rib 5/5 - Brown butter cornbread 5/5 - Peach cobbler 5/5 - Pistachio cookie 5/5 - S'mores 3/5 - Strawberry cookie 3/5

The owner welcomed us as we walked in and it's a very nice spice and tea place on the second floor…read moreof Pier 39. We looked at the honey and the spices. The owner came over and introduced us to the jars that are all around the shop. You can open these jars to smell whatever spice or tea to get a feel for what you would be purchasing. If I remember correctly, the owner and his girlfriend blend it themselves. We purchased some flavored salts, and cranberry apple jam honey. They also had samples of a white strawberry tea that was amazing. This store is great and the service from the owner was fantastic from a details end. I appreciated what they were doing and definitely will be back when we venture out to Pier 39 again.

The store is very large, and there was so much to look at and smell. We were greeted by the owners, who were very helpful in showing us their store and products. We went to pier 39 just to walk around, and ended up having the best experience while there. We ended up getting a bourbon bacon salt, a honey spoon, and got a free tuna rub! The store was so clean and well organized. I love that the spices/herbs/salta/sugars all had jars that you could open and smell for reference. The candles are also noteworthy! They smelled fantastic and I might just have to make my way back for some! Overall, Andrew, Mauricio, Blair, and Ian made the experience excellent! If you're walking through the pier, definitely stop into the business and give them look and purchase!!

Loooooove this store - small but mighty! There is so much to see & buy - from sauce to fresh pasta…read moreto a copy of The Pizza Bible (my husband has a signed copy!) The whole ambiance of the store is such a vibe - my husband and I love it. Even down to the music being played. It passes the vibe-check as the kids say. lol. I've been in for their soft serve & cannolis - both so yums! You can never go wrong with soft serve! You can choose from either a cone or cup & they have a bunch of toppings - even the olive oil & sea salt which I have heard AMAZING things about but I am a plain-girly so I opted for a plain soft serve on a cone. EDIT: GET THE OLIVE OIL & SEA SALT SOFT SERVE - ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG, it's LIFE CHANGING! I would never think the combo works but it freakin' works! lol. TRY IT, you won't regret it! If you go here & don't get a cannoli, did you actually go here? Just asking. Cannoli choices: Plain, Pistachio, Chocolate Chips & Rainbow Sprinkles. My go-to is Chocolate Chips, it never fails! A great thing about their cannolis is that they make 'em after you order! Fresh & hot off the presses! They also have coffee but I have never tried it BUT it gives me a reason to come back!

This food truck is about a 15 minute walk from Aquarium of the Bay. We got here at around 1:30 PM,…read moreordered, and got our food within 15 minutes. It gets really hot, but thankfully there were quite a few benches with seating that had umbrellas to provide shading. Each bench also had malt vinegar (a must), ketchup, and salt. Fast casual eatery. What we got: - Fully loaded fries - super saucy! The menu says it has garlic, melted cheddar, and homemade Baja sauce. Definitely tangy and easily shareable amongst 3-4 people. - Fish only - comes with two pieces of fried fish and tartar sauce. This was pretty good and not too bad of a portion. We split it and ate one each. Good batter to fish ratio! Got our fish and chips cravings satisfied for sure! Bonus points for the pun, the Codmother is actually hilarious and definitely won me over. Would totally come back for more if I'm ever visiting San Francisco again!

This hidden food truck is serving up some of the best Fish & Chips in San Francisco!!…read more The awesome part is that they have their own little area, offering up some tables for dining giving it a nice chill vibe. You order up at the window, or they also have a kiosk if they're very busy where you can place your order. First round, I went with the fish and chips. It took about 15 minutes to be ready which was not bad at all (It's made to order as it should be) and took a seat to enjoy. First off, that fish comes out piping hot!! It's also quite a large portion of fish which is much appreciated. Now flavor wise, the cod is absolutely delicious. Perfectly fried and flaky! It comes with tartar sauce which goes so well with the fish! Well it was so good the first time, we went back the next day and got more of the fried cod and also got some of the fried calamari. And WOAH.... Okay, that calamari was amazing!! First off, the batter itself is so well seasoned! If that's not enough, it's served with their homemade chipotle sauce which is so so good. It has a little spicy tangy flavor that goes so well with the calamari! It quickly became one of my favorites.
