tried the velvet matcha. it was decent, but didn't really stand out as the best matcha I've had. probably wouldn't wait in a long line just for it. there's a good amount of seating inside, but on a friday afternoon everything was taken, lots of people working and hanging out with laptops. overall, solid cafe to sit and get some work done, but not a must-visit for the drinks.
Was I influenced by tik tok? Yes. Was tik tok right? Also yes. But I'm a sucker for a cloud This place has drinks that taste as beautiful as they look. High quality coffee and matcha. I also think it's cool they have like a coffee bean sniffing station where u can smell the different beans they have. I loved the mocha cream cloud. Chocolatey and rich without being overly sweet. The strawberry matcha was also super fun.
I've been wanting to try Q speciality for the longest time so it was fun to add this to my matcha crawl list. Line gets long but ordering goes pretty quickly. I had a hard time choosing between matcha drinks so all my friends and I got different drinks to try. I was a bit nervous seeing the batch make their matcha but the matcha profile was very strong. My favorite would probably be the matcha yuzu latte or the strawberry matcha latte. The strawberry foam was a cream cheese foam so it made it so creamy. I'm mainly taking a star away is because they batch made and for a matcha latte average around $9 which is crazy for the portions. I heard great things about their coffee so I definitely need to try that next.
Ambiance: Q Specialty Coffee is a vibrantly bright coffee shop in Presidio Heights with lots of natural lighting and tables to complete work or just relax with family or friends before starting your day. The coffee bar is open with the ability to see baristas making drinks as ordered with also a display for pastries to pair with the drinks. Service: The baristas were extremely friendly and diligent on getting drinks swiftly made to order, while also being knowledgeable and helpful with questions on the menu. Wait time: Less than 10 minutes between ordering of food / drink and it being ready when going at 10am on a Sunday. Matcha: The Velvet matcha had a good matcha flavor without being overly sweet and a good balance between ice and actual drink. The matcha foam that goes on top is also not excessive while providing a more deep flavor profile that the actual drink lacks a little in. They do also have lids on a side table to allow for you to take your drink on the go with both a straw option and sip lid built into the same top. The matcha crepe cake was okay but did not really have a strong matcha taste to it and the crepes themselves were not very flavorful either. For Presidio Heights, Q Specialty Coffee is a solid tasting matcha with plenty of natural lighting and a great place to catch up with friends or colleagues while enjoying a beverage.

A great place for curated gourmet coffees, matcha and other drinks with a superb pastry selection to match. Bright clean Modern minimalist decor with tiny little round tables just big enough for a laptop and your beverage of choice. Friendly service and definitely fast service midweek, though seating can be a little tight due to everyone camping out here "working from home". :) I really just wanted something simple like the drip coffee, black, no room, but they were out! Hey.. isn't this a coffeehouse!??? lol So I went for the Mocha and a blueberry scone. The Mocha was on point but I have to say the scone had a remarkable moist and almost airy texture with plenty of blueberries. 5/5 on the scone, 4.5/5 on the mocha. The servers were all friendly and seemed to enjoy being here as much as I was! I would love to come back again anytime I am nearby, especially midweek when there aren't any lines!

The interior was nice and modern with a decent amount of seating. More suited for grab and go since the tables are quite small.
Q Specialty Coffee is poppin'! We were across the way when we noticed the cafe. My companion shared that it's a popular spot, and since my Dad wanted coffee, we chose to walk over. On a weekend afternoon, it was packed. The line was out the door, and there were no seats. The line goes by fast. You order and pay, and wait for your name to be called. Most of the people here were working while hanging out. The interior is sleek, modern, and vibey. The service by the workers was kind, and they felt bad about getting my name wrong, lol. So I was intrigued by their Yuzu Matcha Air Cream Cloud, which I got with Oat Milk. The barista warned me it would be citrusy. As a Japanese girlie obsessed with yuzu, this didn't scare me; it made me even more excited! The drink was topped with a large amount of foam. The yuzu foam was airy, citrusy, and light--you could taste it well! Upon mixing, it was nicely balanced. I was a fan. They're also known for their coffee, which is a specialty. My Dad and his friend enjoyed their coffees, noting they were strong and good. I'd love to come back to try their other matchas, seeing most customers got that. Q Specialty Coffee is a spot to try out if you're a coffee or matcha drinker. I'd come back to grab another matcha! Find them off California St. with neighborhood and metered parking nearby.

The cafe itself is very spacious and bright with plenty of seats. We ordered the coco water strawberry cloud and velvet hojicha cloud. The cloud on both drinks were very good! They were thick, creamy, and had good flavor. The hojicha tasted nutty and smooth.
Q Specialty Coffee is a super popular, trendy, modern, matcha and coffee drink store. There's usually a line out the door to order. Inside, it's modern with plenty of small, light wooden desks to work or hang out. The first time I came on the weekend, the line was so long, I left. The second time I came on a rainy Tuesday afternoon and there was only a short line inside. I ordered the strawberry matcha cloud, which was an organic matcha latte with strawberry cloud foam on top, plus crumbs of dried strawberries. The matcha was pretty good. The strawberry cloud foam was a nice touch. There was only one size and it was $8.25 plus tax. Q Specialty Coffee also serves espresso drinks, coffee, tea, hojicha lattes, and more drinks with strawberry cloud. For dessert, they have Lady M Mille crepes! They also offer sandwiches, pastries, and cookies. Female worker at the counter was pretty nice. Pretty cool coffee/matcha spot on California St. in San Francisco.
Q Specialty Coffee is a nice neighborhood addition. Very popular! Even with Starbucks and Peets here, this place is great as they have great coffee and matcha drinks. Our favorite is the Velvet Matcha Cloud. It's creamy and delicious. Not bitter as with some matcha drinks. The Mille cakes are good but we don't care for their other food, especially not the shredded steak cheese burrito which according to my hubby tasted like freezer section microwave burritos. I live for this Matcha. Plenty of street parking available in the area. I've usually gone in the morning and the line isn't bad- moves quick. You have to use the QR code to see the breakdown of the menu. My favorite is the velvet matcha. It is so creamy and has the perfect sweetness. Honestly wish I had 100 of them. Staff is friendly and their gluten free brownie is pretty good. There are some tables but they are pretty small and the place gets busy. There is not a great place to wait for drinks, so sometimes I feel like I'm in the way. They are quick though, so that is not long. Can't wait to come back! read more
We ordered the velvet matcha cloud and the yuzu air cloud matcha latte. Yuzu Air Cloud Matcha Latte: Both were quite good although I think I preferred the velvet matcha cloud more since the heavy cream is slightly less distracting than yuzu from the matcha. The yuzu air cloud matcha was unique though, all the yuzu flavor was in the cream which was not too tart and had a nice flavor to it. I also just really wanted the whipped top which was very cute. The matcha was quite good as well and one of the better ones in the City in my opinion. Lady M Crepe Cake: We also got a matcha crepe cake to share and it was really good since it's Lady M. The cake is awesome and the crepes are a really nice thinness. Overall, would come back once in a while for their drinks, since they are a little expensive, but definitely worth a try! read more

Came for the matcha!! The matcha wasn't too sweet and perfectly whisked. The yuzu matcha whip was cute and aesthetic, but a bit too much citrus for my taste. I would definitely come back to try the other flavors. read more

I ordered the velvet matcha and hojicha and both were delicious. The cream tops were nice and fluffy, not too liquidy. The matcha flavor actually came through in the drink and the hojicha was nice and nutty. The cafe itself was pretty big. Lots of seating with great big windows. The drinks came out quickly but there wasn't a large line when I ordered. read more
Q Speciality Coffee has been blowing up for their trendy, delicious matcha and for good reason! We got there on a Saturday in the early afternoon and there was barely a wait to order. Street parking was quite easy as well. I got the strawberry cloud matcha, which came out after about 5-10 minutes. Strawberry cream was perfectly sweet and rich, which paired well with the smooth and bold matcha! Servers were very friendly. Super cute coffee shop that makes amazing matcha! I typically make my own matcha at home since it's so much more cost efficient, but every once in a while I like to treat myself and try out matcha spots in the city. The ambiance is very modern and spacious. A great spot to catch up with friends when it's not too busy. I ordered the velvet matcha cloud, and it was so delicious. It's a matcha latte with matcha foam topping. I ordered it less sweet, and it was perfect for me. The matcha was smooth, robust, and earthy. I know they specialize in coffee and have a display of coffee beans and scents in the store, but honestly they really nailed it with their matcha. Will definitely come back when I want to treat myself again. read more

Worth the hype! The Velvet Matcha Cloud is soooo good. The matcha is smooth and creamy and not too sweet. My drink was $8.25, a little expensive but not outrageous for SF. The line was out the door but it moves relatively fast, the staff is very quick we waited less than 10 min after ordering our drinks. The cafe itself is busy, there's lots of seating but usually taken. read more
Added this spot to my list and finally got to visit! We were coming from sacramento so we came by around 5:10 and they close at 5:30, however the worker was super helpful as it wasn't first time. He was super friendly as well. This is for 2/25. I got the velvet matcha, yuzu matcha and pistachio crepe cake for around $31. The drinks were around $8 each which honestly is not bad at all. I love that you can adjust your sweetest. I did the velvet at 75% and tbh that was pretty sweet so I do recommend keeping their standard 50%. I got the yuzu at their normal. The only difference between these two is the "cloud" which is the cream on top. The yuzu one is so fresh and light. The flavor is very distinct but not overpowering. I always love seeing yuzu on the menu. The velvet one was creamy and smooth. As for their ambiance, the cafe is super spacious. Lots of seating and natural light. They also have coffee here!! Overall: 4.8/5 Spacious and feels open, aesthetic, can get very busy, minimalist decor. You can smell the different coffee beans near the front. I prefer more BITTERsweet matchas so I thought their matchas here are a little more on the sweet side. Drinks are served with open caps but they're still provided at the counter. Stopped by Q Specialty Coffee in SF and this place is such a solid find. The ambiance is super clean and minimal with a modern coffee lab feel. Everything looks really intentional, from the setup behind the counter to the way drinks are presented. It's bright, calm, and a nice spot to just sit and chill for a bit :)) Service was fast and the staff were really friendly. They took the time to explain a few drinks and gave good recommendations, which I always appreciate at spots like this ! Coco Wave Matcha Cloud Really refreshing. The coconut water keeps it light and slightly sweet, while the matcha cloud on top adds that creamy, earthy balance. Super smooth and easy to drink. Velvet Hojicha Cloud This one was my favorite. Deeper, more roasted flavor from the hojicha with a really creamy texture from the cloud. Less sweet, more rich and comforting. Overall, everything felt well thought out--from the drinks to the experience. Definitely a spot I'd come back to, especially if you're into matcha/hojicha drinks with a more elevated twist. read more

Been wanting to try this matcha/coffee place. I'm not a coffee drinker but this place has plenty of quality matcha and juice options. I got the strawberry matcha cloud. There was a perfect ratio of strawberry and matcha. The creamy foam top complimented the matcha well and tasted like a dessert! The coffee options are also extensive. As busy as this place gets, the staff is quick and efficient. There is seating inside and a bench outside. Parking is street parking. I would love to come back to try different flavors! read more
Q Specialty Coffee was a place I kept seeing all over TikTok and Instagram, so it was definitely on my list to try once I came back home from college. When I finally had the chance, I went with a friend and we were both really excited to see if it lived up to all the hype online. We ended up ordering the Velvet Matcha Cloud and the Velvet Hojicha Cloud, and both drinks were honestly so good. They were clearly prepared with care and crafted really well, and the texture of the drinks was incredibly smooth and creamy. The matcha and hojicha flavors were well balanced and not overpowering, which made them really enjoyable to drink. The cloud topping added such a nice creamy layer that made each sip feel rich but still light at the same time. My friend liked their drink so much that they actually went back and bought another one, which says a lot about how good it was. If I could go back, I would also love to try their Spiced Chai Espresso Cloud because I'm a big fan of chai lattes and that combination sounds really interesting. The experience and ambiance of the shop were also really memorable. The space felt very clean and aesthetically pleasing, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the design of the café. One really fun detail was the coffee smell tester, where you can smell coffee beans from different regions around the world. It was such a unique and interactive touch that made the visit feel a little more special. The staff were also incredibly nice. One of the workers even complimented me, which was honestly really sweet and made the experience feel even more welcoming. This is a place I would definitely love to come back to. But I wish that they had another location that wasn't so deep in SF, but aside from that, it's a spot I really enjoyed. Been seeing Q all over my social media and I can see why! The drinks are so unique and aesthetic that it's worth a visit! I stood in line for about 40-50 mins on a Saturday afternoon which is what I expected with all the hype. Once you order the drinks come out super fast. There is seating inside but can be hard to find with the amount of people. But it's very nice and airy inside and could be very nice to sit. I got the yuzu matcha as I've never heard of it before and it was very good! The matcha was strong and the yuzu flavor definitely came through! There are so many other drinks I want to try here so will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area! read more

Came around 1pm on a Saturday and only waited 5 minutes to order! I loved that they had coffee beans that you can smell while you wait. The inside had a decent amount of seating and a good amount of waiting area. My drink came out fairly quickly. I got the velvet matcha and it was delicious! As someone who doesn't like super sweet drinks, the default of the sweetness was perfect. read more

I stopped into Q Specialty Coffee since it's open early on a Sunday. This café has beautiful blond wood and light beige delcor. Jazz music playing in the background creating a chill ambiance! Although periodically there is a rude bell ringing sound? At the counter, I placed in my drink order with a very unfriendly cashier. The man didn't even welcome me or crack a smile when I commented about the beautiful morning. The two assistants prepared the matcha base and made the hot latte beverage. I have to say the bowl and whisk on the counters are quite aesthetically pretty. The hot matcha drink is served in cool, environmentally streamlined cup with a built in sleeve. Nice. The match itself was okay (it is a standard 50% according to the receipt). Quite light both in taste and bitterness. I asked for no foam and found ...foam on top. For the price of $7.50 plus a surcharge for oat milk, it's an expensive morning drink ($8+). Had to try their most popular drink, which is the velvet matcha cloud (matcha latte with matcha cream cloud). The cream cloud was thick and creamy, which was a huge plus! There wasn't a line when I went but the indoor seating was all taken. Would come back again to try their other drinks! read more

Such a cute spot with a bright and airy ambience that makes it the perfect place to catch up with friends, or get some work done. Every drink we ordered was honestly delicious, you can really tell they put care into the quality and flavor of each one. Their coffee is smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The matcha was creamy, and not overly sweet. Definitely some of the better matches I've had in a while. The staff was also incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Between the atmosphere, amazing drinks, and great service, this is definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm in the city! read more
Read mixed reviews about this place but the matcha with cloud foam looked unreal so of course I had to try for myself.. get the yuzu one for the cloud foam. It's good and unique with a slight yuzu citrus flavor. I liked it! Very nice ambiance. It's pricey but good, I would come back again to try their velvet matcha latte. read more

I've been seeing this place blow up on TikTok so I had to try it out. The line was out the door and wrapped around the building on a Sunday afternoon. I got the matcha cloud, and it was okay I just felt like I was expecting more of the matcha taste but it tasted more milky. read more

The line was out the door and ready to wrap around the block! It was a rather long wait, but I have to say they're specialty drinks were killer. They do a great job at presentation and flavor. When you first get to the counter, you'll see a bunch of different beans that you can smell, it'll help you decide on the type of beans you'd like them to use if you're getting a standard drip or espresso drink. I think that this was one of the cooler things I've seen a coffee shop too. Their drinks are very easy to finish in two minutes, you have to pace yourself or else you'll be back in that line! read more

I had one of the strawberry matcha drinks with a cinnamon roll. I appreciated that they asked if I wanted the cinnamon roll warmed up which I said yes to. I'm not the biggest fan of matcha but this was good and the strawberry flavor helped it out. The cinnamon roll was good and had a healthy amount of icing. The aesthetic was nice. My husband and I came on a Friday morning around 8 am. Luckily no wait! A month ago we drove by in the afternoon and the line was out the door. We ordered the velvet matcha and dripped coffee. The matcha was great, perfectly sweet and perfectly velvety like they said. The creaminess and the foam top was delicious. My husband enjoyed his coffee as well. Many of the tables were full, some people working out of their laptops and some chit chatting enjoying morning coffee and breakfast. We didn't get to try the baked goods. Seems like the store allowed dogs? I saw 3 people with their dogs. Unfortunately one of the dogs threw up in the coffee store. It ate its owners slice of cake (whole) without chewing and threw it all up. I'm not sure why the lady wasn't watching her dog seems a bit irresponsible. read more

Expected a long line on a Saturday morning, and it took us about 20 minutes to get to the front of the line at around 11:15AM. I am always on the hunt for a place that can do good matcha and coffee in the city, in addition to scoping out potential coworking spots... The Yuzu Matcha Air Cloud was balanced and delicious. The foam/cream on top wasn't heavy at all and had a nice, subtle yuzu flavor that only added to the depth of the drink when mixed into the quality matcha. As someone that enjoys certain fruity flavors with matcha (esp. mango), I'm pleasantly surprised that yuzu worked so well here. If you have some time to spare on the weekend, check this place out. I would love to return on a not-as-busy (hopefully) weekday to sir down, read, or get some work done because the space was nice and beautiful, but way too hectic and overstimulating on a busy Saturday morning. read more

Nice and clean, great aesthetics :) There was a line when I went, but not too bad. They have an area where you can smell different types of coffee beans, which was neat! I tried the velvet matcha and it was good! Make sure to give it a good stir at the bottom so the sweetness is more balanced throughout the drink. No issue with street parking when I went. read more
