So glad we were able to finally visit Asian Village in the Northtown Mall! This place was huge! Plenty of seating and multiple restaurants to choose from! All the restaurants on the bottom floor are fast casual, no need for wait staff. We went with ramen and rice bowls today. The ramen was super tasty, well done for sure. The pork belly rice bowl was good, but could have used more flavor and heat. The cake roll and coffee from 85°C was the best thing we had today, super delicious! There's also a huge Asian grocery store in the mall, with an abundance of unique Asian foods and desserts. We will definitely be going back here to try one of the many places to eat!

I was thrilled when Northtown mall announced Asia Village will be occupying the old Herberger building. We chose to go during the weekdays, to avoid the large crowd. When you walk in, you'll see the grocery store on the left, escalator ahead to go upstairs, and food court on the right. So many restaurants to choose from. Vietnamese, Korean, ramen, fried chicken, and a bakery. I see more restaurants coming soon as well. We checked out the upstairs and saw the hot pot/kbbq restaurant, beauty lab, and kids zone. Very family friendly space. I can vision more businesses opening kiosk upstairs. Down the hallway on the first floor is the entrance to the mall. We purchased some food to eat and walked around the grocery store. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

We came during opening weekend, so it was pretty busy and had a great atmosphere! I am absolutely thrilled that this has opened up on this side of town. The Asia Mall in Eden Prairie is super far for us, so having this over in the Blaine neighborhood on the north side of the Twin Cities is amazing. We shopped around the market and everything is very reasonably priced, especially the fresh food. We also tried the bakery, got some bubble tea and just had a blast walking around :) The entire space is so bright, open, and beautiful! We can't wait to come back again soon!

Came here after work on a weekday, after the soft opening. Parking lot looked busy (haven't seen so many cars here even when it was a store) but didn't feel super packed inside. I came here for the 85 Celsius bakery. They were pretty picked over by 3pm, but I was still able to find some things to buy. Many places open for businesses with food that looks amazing. Will have to come back to try then all. So excited for this place to succeed. It looks clean and modern. I hope it stays that way and draws more businesses to revitalize the area.

Asia Village in Blaine has finally opened for business! This place is connected to the Northtown Mall and features a large Asian grocery and an assortment of Asian shops and restaurants. The main area is laid out similar to a mall food court, but you won't find generic chain food here (there's no Panda Express). It's more like a food hall featuring spots such as ramen, pho, an Asian cafe/bakery, and a lot more. It has the first OneZo boba in Minnesota, a Taiwanese company that's known for making all their boba from scratch every day. I had their Taro Coconut milk tea with Ube boba and it was one of the best bubble tea's I've ever had. It also has an ODAY Creamery, a local company doing Asian-inspired ice cream. The other side of the building is a large supermarket of foods and sauces imported from Asia. The focus was definitely on items from Japan, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea. I was able to pick up bags of Japanese kit kats and Chinese oreos along with items like authentic soy sauce that was made in Japan. This is a great addition to the area for anybody looking to pick up specialty ingredients. Overall it's pretty much everything I'd hoped it would be when I'd heard they were building it last year, and I'm sure I'll be back many times now that it's open for business.

Spice and Smoke is an all you can eat hotpot spot with reasonable prices! $5 extra for both hotpot and KBBQ. Canned drinks are included and staff was overall so kind. They have a sauce bar as well as a good variety of appetizers/fruit/ice cream. Will definitely become our next go to hot pot place!

They have a lot of Asian snack items like rice crackers, candy, and bakery goods from local Asian (Chinese and Korean bakeries in town). Produce is fresh from local farms and they even carry organic. They now even have a fresh fish market which has gotten to be top notch. Everything is labeled and fresh and I know what I'm getting. No need to travel all the way to Coastal Foods (Minnesota's fresh fish market) for fresh fish. I only make the trip to Coastal Foods these days when I'm making sushi or a sashimi meal and I need sushi grade fish. Sun Foods does not carry sushi grade fish, but their fish is clearly labeled now and fresh. No more mysteries like when they first opened. They also have a nice deli section too for good pre-made hot food. I am very happy with the big improvement that I usually am happy and satisfied with my Asian Grocery shopping at this grocery store. Hooray for Sun Foods!

To my surprise, next day I found out they charged my credit card twice of my purchase amount. I have never seen such incident before. I called the store the next day. A lady answered my call but then she refused to resolve this problem. She asked me to return to the store to talk to them in person. I told her I am unable to do that as I don't live in the area. Then she said "it is your money and you need to take care of the problem". I argued that I have print-out receipt and you should be able to find out the charges in your system and fix it. It is the store's fault to charge me twice anyway. Well, she hanged up on me before I finished. This is very rude customer service, and very unprofessional.

It's a grocery store with a butcher shop and then the deli counter in the back of the market. There was a line of about 6 people and after we lined up, more people waiting. The person ordering ahead of me was telling me that he was getting the whole fried tilapia and plantains, which was his favorite. Not gonna lie, sure did look good! We ordered the red okra stew, collard greens, and goat soup. They offer regular and large sizes and your choice of fufu or rice. Also ordered the fried plantains and a meat pie. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. He let us know which ones contained peanuts (my son has a peanut allergy) and which ones were considered spicy (goat stew) but since I love spicy foods, I didn't mind. My review of the food: -Red Okra with fish and fufu: delicious, greasy, and flavorful. Be careful because the fish was a big chunk and still had bones. -Collard greens with meat and fufu: I think meat was chicken. Our favorite dish of all of them. Flavorful, greasy, and delicious. -Goat Stew and rice: so full of meat (with bones). The Goat chunks remind me of pork belly (fatty, chewy, flavorful). This stew was spicy. Strong goat flavor. Had habanero peppers. -plantains: they gave us so much! Starchy and sweet. Yummy -meat pie: was just ok. Felt a little dry. Overall good experience. Food was so flavorful and full of spices. A little more greasier than how I normally like to eat but the grease also helped with eating the fufu. Total bill was about $60. Was enough food to feed about 5-6 people. No seating area. Everything is packaged for to-go orders.

Finally the employees, the grocery side and restaurant are very clean. I'll not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Keep up guys for your business and making the community happy.

I got the kimbap, sundubu-jjigae (spicy tofu stew with seafood), and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). The kimbap is the best thing there is, and they also sell this to go at the register (I've had this multiple times and I think it's the best kimbap I've had). Despite being mostly veggies, the kimbap is deep in flavor and very scrumptious. The sundubu-jjigae was a hidden gem for me. I didn't think I would like tofu stew but holy clam this soup had so much umami from the seafood. The broth was not watered down at all and was full of flavor, and the seafood was plentiful and went perfectly with the rice. The only downside to this dish were the banchans, which were overall a bit underwhelming, especially the beansprouts. The seafood pancake was also just okay. It was thick and filled with seafood, but despite eating this right when it was finished cooking, it just wasn't as crispy as I would have liked (a good example of really good seafood pancake is at K-bop near the U of M). Overall, I enjoyed the food here and would definitely like to try some of their other dishes there!

I think the prices for the dishes are reasonable priced and the food is great. The seating is a little bit limited and it's mostly self service since you find your seat after you get your food and clean up your table after you are done. Highly recommend checking out for yummy Korean food and doing some Asian grocery shopping afterwards.
