    Glass noodles stir fry

Had Really authentic and spicy korean glass noodle stir fry at Korea restaurant, tucked around the U of M campus. The vibe of the place was campus like, nothing too fancy, but really considerate service by the staff. The food came quick and food also came with quite a few sides of kimchi, spiced cumcumbers, fish cakes and rice to have as sides. Portions were huge and price was quite nominal.

I have been coming to this restaurant for about 15 years. It has never disappointed me once. The environment is cozy and family friendly. It is small and kind of old, so it's not the best for hosting a party or treat a new friend. But if you want some authentic Korean food by yourself, with your family or close friends, this is THE PLACE! All the dishes in my pictures are amazing! They offer unlimited side dishes and which are also great! Anything on the menu is super good! The service is very nice! They seem like from the same family!

We are really not having any luck finding an open spot by the university of Minnesota at all. We are finding out this was a bad weekend and week to come here. Closed for the 4th of July weekend. :(

Super quick service, I took a party of 15 there and we all got our food within 15 mins of ordering. The food was all fantastic! First time trying Korean food and I will definitely be returning for more! Parking is small but you can likely score a spot or you go between lunch and dinner times. The restaurant itself is pretty small but service is quick so if you have to wait it'll probably be a 20 min wait? The vibe is authentic.

Wow!!! Delicious authentic Korean food! Great service and homey atmosphere. Loved the pork bulgogi and spicy tofu soup!!! Yummy!! Shout out to the new owner and their manager for excellent food and service!

Cute little restaurant. We ordered the kimchi stew, japchae and grilled mackerel and of course Qalbi. Qalbi is my favorite! Very well seasoned and simply delicious. The japchae was tasty as well but I was missing the beef in it. That's how I always had it in the past but it was still pretty good without the egg and meat. The kimchi stew was so spicy yet I couldn't stop eating it. Very interesting flavor with the fermented cabbage. The dishes were served with a cup of rice for each of us and little dishes of kimchi and sprouts. Grilled mackerel had some bones in it so I was worried about my son eating it. But it was still tasty. And our bill totalled to be around $100.

I have been to this place when it was all the fashion decoration. They renovated the place kept it simple which makes it easy to clean there is parking in front of it for eight cars or so. Service was quick and the rice was crunchy at the bottom of my meal which made it really good. The sauce was not too spicy. And then greens were fresh and tasty. I've been here a few times in the past and I never regretted coming here. I'll come back again. I am relatively new to Korean food but it's definitely good here: so forgive me if I don't use names of dishes.

The food was good, service was fast, and price was average. I've eaten here a few times and there's only one thing I would change is their closing time. For a restaurant, 8:00 PM closing is way too early, especially on the weekends.

Hidden gem of a Korean restaurant in Minneapolis! Their food is authentic and very flavorful. If you're new to Korean food, you can't go wrong trying the galbi or spicy pork. We love the bibimbap and spice seafood noodle, too. Highly recommend to anyone.

It appears that the restaurant was recently remodeled as my experience did not look like the older pictures posted. The dining area is small and looks like it can only sit maybe 6 parties of no more than 4 people. There were paper menus and table service, unlike older pictures that showed ordering off of a menu board and then sitting down with a number. The small space was not cramped but we sat by very noisy diners. The service was fine- not terrible but not great, but the food is the star here! My friend and I ordered the beef bibimbap bowl, spicy rice cakes, seafood pancake and pork bulgogi. I tried everything but the pork and everything was better than I expected! The spicy rice cakes were so chewy and perfectly flavorful, they're the best I've had so far in the cities! I could sit down and eat 2 plates of these haha! I took the majority of the seafood pancake home and was able to eat it cold for the leftovers the next day ( I didn't want to reheat seafood) and it was still good! This is a pretty quick service-sit down, eat and then leave type of joint. I am definitely coming back for the rice cakes and to try a few more things off the menu when I'm craving some comfort Korean food.

    Seafood Pancake. The best!!!!

We also split a happy hour burger and each had a hand roll - they serve it fancy with a plastic sheet above the seaweed to avoid sogginess (didn't catch a pic of this but presentation was very nice!) The showstopper was the local vanilla ice cream with sesame oil (a nice twist on the olive oil on ice cream trend) and Maldon sea salt flakes. Truly such a simple yet exquisite dessert. Service: we sat at the bar and service was friendly and attentive. Our bartender/servers let us know about the happy hour and suggested a great grapefruit NA drink. The food is mostly good, although there is something missing still that could make this restaurant truly one of the best in the state. Still, it's a great night out, especially if you like Korean and/or Chinese food. Here's a rundown: The food: First and foremost, Minari has special menus to meet many dietary restrictions. Not just symbols on one menu, but different menus depending on your restrictions. That's amazing. We ordered off of the Dairy Free (DF) menu, which does include a lot of their dishes from the regular menu. The Szechuan Ribs were my favorite, they are exquisite. The KFC wings are good too, although they could have used a bit more sauce (I am used to Korean-style wings being pretty saucy). The pork jowl was good but did not have quite enough gojuchang flavor. The accompaniments that came with it were awesome, especially the sauces. The bonchon need some work; I would love to see more traditional bonchon, ours had a couple "fusion" type dishes that were a little too contemporary for us. The drinks: The Minari Old Fashioned was AWESOME, a great drink (and the rice cracker was great too). Highly recommend this. The service was some of the best in the metro. From entering (where the host stand will make sure you have appropriate menu(s)), to the server, who was perfectly attentive and very knowledgeable about every dish, including dietary issues, to the complimentary tea and birthday sparkling wine, I can't say enough about the service here. The only weird thing is the dim sum, I would actually just put the dim sum dishes on the menu and bring them out on demand. The ambiance was really nice, and the bathrooms were clean. The final thing I would say is that I think that Minari could benefit from making their Korean dishes a little bit more traditional...as I mentioned earlier, small touches like making the wings a bit "saucier," more gojuchang flavor on the dishes that feature it, and more traditional bonchon would all be great. Still, this is a phenomenal place to dine/drink in NE Minneapolis, and if you like Korean and Chinese food, you will not be disappointed!

I have had Korean BBQ here before as well and honestly I thought it was pretty decent. I ordered the bibimbap and it was very sloppily made with not enough ingredients. I used a good amount of gochujang for flavor which was normal but even the vegetables included in the original bowl were very plain. The japchae was pretty good as the vermicelli noodles were very flavorful. I would've preferred to see some more bell pepper pieces in it, though. My partner got the salmon roe nigiri, the agedashi tofu, and the soft tofu stew. They thought those dishes were pretty good. The agedashi tofu specifically, however, was a bit too soft in terms of its outer skin. I don't think this establishment would be one that I'd choose to visit if I am to bring friends to either Korean or Japanese food places in the Twin Cities, and it seems like others agree according to their reviews.

Plenty of tables available and lots of parking on the street. The place was pretty full by the time we left. The restaurant is huge with a good ambiance. Clean and not too loud. If you opt for AYCE, you mark your choices on a sheet of paper. You're given some marinated tofu, broccoli, tofu, kimchi, sprouts, greens to begin with. We ordered beef bulgogi, spicy pork, pork belly, and brisket. I probably could have done without the brisket or pork belly. Brisket dried out super fast and the pork belly was a little too fatty. Also ordered gyoza, fried rice, black bean noodles, seaweed salad, and a shrimp tempura roll. All were delicious, but we ended up with far too much food for just two people. At the end we were given ice cream. It was individually wrapped so we took it to go since we were so full. I'd definitely return again in the future!

Cozy Hmong-American restaurant with French-influenced pastries? Count me in! I literally updated my destination to this restaurant while in the uber and decided to grab a bit of food before heading to my hotel. I had no reservation, but arriving a little after 1 pm on a Monday had no wait for a bar seat. It's such a cozy, homey restaurant with light wood, light brick, natural light, few plants inside and a very casual patio with picnic tables outside. I could see this place being a tough reservation during peak times. I hadn't eaten all day and was extremely hungry. I opted for the king crab omelette with red curry beurre blanc. I got a side of sticky rice to make it slightly heartier since I was so hungry and got some pastries to go, since I was in a bit of a time crunch to make it to my hotel and take some work calls. Service was incredibly friendly and fast. My server really did Minneapolis proud, chatted with me about my trip, gave me other great goodie recommendations to fill out my dining for the week, and overall really made the visit special. The crab omelette was unreal. Simultaneously fresh, light, but with a hint of kick and richness from the red curry beurre blanc. Excellent flavor combo. I got the crab Rangoon danish and the coconut pandas croissant to go and ate them for breakfast the next day and they were still so light and fresh with unreal flavor combos. The pandan was my favorite and I tend to be a savory over sweet pastry girl. This place is deserving of all of its hype and more. I honestly really wanted to go back and asked if I could try to sneak in a reservation to come again for later in the week, but sadly they are when I was free the rest of the time I was in town.
