This is one of our favorite meal stops when we were in Raton. They have a nice selection, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. On one occasion when we ate there, they had a staff member patiently take time to prepare the plates for an elderly gentleman so that the gentleman did not need to get up from his table. There is a limit to their menu, but chiefly because this is a small town in a rather isolated location (even though it is on the Interstate). It is a fairly easy detour if you're coming off of the Interstate, and better than many of the fast food options. read more

I was dissatisfied. We got there and seated ourselves and the waitress got us water but we didn't know that it was only buffet and there was no dinner menu. We sat waiting for a good 10 minutes before I got up and had to find our waitress to ask what we do...she was hiding in the back of the restaurant eating ice cream...when I told her we weren't from around there and I didn't know what we were supposed to do she just said "ohh....sorry" and went back to her ice cream. The food was ok. My kids were all happy, but nothing stood out because of flavor. The vegetables were crisp and fresh so that was nice, but nothing was outstanding. If you're looking for delicious, this isn't your place. If you're looking for inexpensive to feed a bunch of hungry kids, this IS your place. read more

This little buffet is nothing fancy, no feast for the eyes--except for their food! Very tasty! Inexpensive ($8.50) and everything was flavorful and several unique things (Blueberry swirl ice cream with chocolate chips filled with caramel) Family run, friendly. Easy to find, plenty of parking. I feel like family here, the staff is always helpful, welcoming and kind. I come here often for lunch and dinner with family and friends. The food is always fresh, including their sushi rolls -- and it's pretty cool that they always have different ice cream; my favorites being the blueberry and green tea. Is it veggie friendly? Nope. Typically, Chinese buffets are a safe bet for us as we do not eat meat. Unfortunately, there are really no vegetarian/vegan options here other than steamed rice and veggie lo mein (which was good). Salad was available, but with only ranch dressing (sorry, vegans). The waitress was very kind when I asked if she could refill the lo mein as it was almost empty when we arrived; however, overall, I would not recommend this restaurant if you're looking for anything other than the classic meat-filled dishes. read more

When you travel sometimes you stay in very small towns. These towns tend to have limited amounts of choices on food to eat. We saw this restaurant and the good reviews and thought we would try it out. The place was really clean and the buffet looked amazing. It was a small buffet but the items looked very appetizing. We looked at the menu and saw they also had certain items that we liked. Ordered shrimp fried rice and combination noodles with some Asian chicken wings. They had the food ready within ten minutes and we were headed back to the hotel. The food was really good and the wings we amazing. This was a fine buffet. The amounts on the buffet line were small and fresh. The food was mostly americanized food (but that should be expected in the US and especially on a buffet), but it was well prepared americanized Chinese. There were a couple of more traditional offerings. The furnishings were worn, but the space was clean. The price was reasonable. read more

Other than the usual fast food places, many nearby places were closed so there appeared to be little variety in dining choices for the traveler. My friend and I were desperately seeking a quick meal and then to get back on the road. We passed this restaurant, in front of a strip mall, surrounded by other eating establishments that were closed or boarded up. With a deep sigh and a gulp of courage, we decided to take the plunge and parked in front of the business. We were pleasantly greeted and seated, shown the buffet, which was abundently filled with a nice variety of selections: customary salads, jello, fruit, puddings, soups and YES! sushi....good fresh sushi, nothing adventurous, but the cautious beginner try it out variety; the vegetables were freshly prepared, not canned; the entrees were the usual Chinese fare, all tasty; nice cookies, pastries and even ice cream. We were pleased, sated and continued on our way making sure to eat there again on our way back home to Texas. I now stop here every time I make the journey from Texas to Colorado, several times a year and have not been disappointed once. The last time I visited I was even offered some vegetables that had been specially prepared for a private dining party, indeed I was even invited to join in the festivities. The Chinese are most gracious hosts. I don't remember the price, it was not unreasonable, indeed I thought it was an excellent value especially for the quality of food. The owners are so friendly and they are always so excited to see us once again, even if it's been months since the last time we stopped by during our travels.
