a white styrofoam container filled with vegetables and meat
    Rodney W.

Stopped by Asian Chao for dinner near my daughter's volleyball practice. We're not allowed inside the school where she practices during COVID-19 so parents have to find something to do for two hours. So this is part of what I did during my two hours. I was hungry and I needed to visit T-Mobile at Summit Mall. I figured I would stop by one of the fast food stands in the mall for dinner. Based on what was available, this seemed like a decent option. I requested spicy bourbon chicken with a side of veggies. When I opened the styrofoam container, it was more like veggies with a side of chicken. And she tried to get me to buy double meat, but the only time I do that is at Jimmy Johns. Anyway, the grub was tasty, if not a bit watery. It was kind of late and the food looked like it had been sitting there for a while. Maybe I'll try a different food stand next time. The mall had nearly no people in it.

I had to go into the mall to get measured for a suit and decided to check out the food court for lunch. The food court is pretty small and doesn't have many options, but I was in a mood for Asian food. The first thing I noticed was how rude the employees were. It seemed as if they were pushing me to get through the line as fast as possible which was weird to me since I had no one behind me and a few customers in from of me. I went with the two option combo. Selected the fried rice, general tao's chicken and spices but on chicken. I haven't eaten mall food in a while so I was expecting it to taste as good as I remembered it. I unfortunately was disappointed.

Everything was delicious, the crab rangoons were our favorite. Sushi was good but nothing to go crazy over. The only thing I would mention is everything did have a distinct flavor profile. The chicken hibachi had this strong flavor and was not your traditional hibachi. Not sure of its what they cook with or use but it was on everything. Not a bad taste, just very strong. Service was lovely and I'd love to come back to try different dishes

I was going over to a friend's for a movie night, and she recommended ordering from here, and what a terrific recommendation! She ended up ordering a bunch of things for us to share. We shared the cold sesame noodles, Crab Rangoons, mini rolls, peanut avocado sushi, and vegetable lo mein. Everything was seriously so delicious and fresh-tasting. I was especially impressed with the cold sesame noodles and peanut avocado sushi. These were items I wouldn't normally order, but they tasted great with a strong peanut butter flavor. I mentioned this place to my husband, and we plan on ordering here the next time we're craving Chinese!

I assured my husband it was good back when I was in college. So we went, we both got Mongolian beef lunch specials. He got egg rolls and I got egg drop soup. We both also got the dynamite shrimp. Harmless enough really. Almost within hours we both had intense sulfur heartburn and gas. That went on all day, nothing we had could stop it. Then today came and we both have some intense food poisoning. We only have one bathroom so you can imagine how fun this is when both of us are living in there. Neither one of us could go to work today, we're both incredibly sick. I'm laying in bed right now with sharp stomach pains typing this up. It was my husbands first time and probably his last, he's sworn off it forever. We're so sick right now. Beware I suppose, this is biblical in terms of agony. Edit: Spoke with the manager on today ( 4.19.26 ) and she essentially said it was our fault for getting sick. "We serve this all day and no one else got sick" Fantastic, don't go there. We got deathly ill for four days. Partner has Asthma and constantly throwing up made breathing painful due to sore muscles. Clearly the customer willingly got sick and did this to themselves. We won't be back. Edit 2 We got ahold of the original manager ( I won't post her name ) and she issued a refund. My partner voiced displeasure in being accused of making ourselves sick and this manager just brushed it off in agreement with her assistant. So what I'm understanding is both of these managers suck. Glad we got our money back, this place is terrible. We have to head back to the Apple Store soon and I can't wait to flip this place off as we leave.

For appetizers, we tried their egg rolls, and they might honestly be in the top ten egg rolls I have ever had--paired with the old-school hot mustard and duck sauce, they absolutely did the trick. I also tried the coconut shrimp soup; it was flavorful, creamy, and a very unique dish that I had never seen before. My wife ordered the Kani roll and the Rainbow roll, both of which featured incredibly fresh ingredients and beautifully balanced flavors. For my main course, I went with the General Tso's chicken, which was perfectly crispy and wonderfully flavored. If you're looking for an elegant date night spot to feast on upscale Asian fare, this is the perfect place.

Our only hiccup was the reservation I made through yelp wasn't picked up by them. They had no idea we were coming in....so we sat and waited looking like losers who "drop in" with 5 people like we own the place. Rather embarrassing and it was noted on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Oh well... It's ok. We will return but will call to make reservations next time.

Photos and reviews of this place are scarce so I just went in on a wing and a prayer to pick up my chicken pad thai to go order, which was ready about 20 minutes after I called it in. For only $9.75, I was given a pretty good size portion of my noodle-y craving with plenty of Jalapeño, peanut crumbles, and a scattering of bean sprouts. I took the peppers off, of course, and dug in. While I wish there were more bean sprouts (and any other vegetable associated with pad thai), I enjoyed the sugary sweetness of the sauce and the salty flavor added from msg and the peanuts. The sauce isn't as sweet as other pad thai I have gotten in the past, which I am not sure if I like more or less haha. The chicken is what brought the dish down... the strips of chicken were truly nothing special. The lady working the counter provided good service, despite how busy the place was with to-go orders. She offered to staple my paper bag with the food and kindly allowed me to take lots of sauce packets and plastic silverware. It took me a year to finally order something from Mr. Chengs, but I am happy I finally did and enjoyed my lunch! I try not to eat portions as large as they give for lunch but I ate this all up!
