    Smash Burger with Nori Fries
    Kyle M.

Went for happy hour with a friend. We had the spirited away and mango sticky rice cocktails which were both good but the mango sticky rice was the favorite of the two for taste and presentation. I ordered the Smash Burger and they got the Chicken Katsu Sandwich, we also had the Pork & Chicken Gyoza's. The Nori Fries came included with the burger and sandwich and were crisp, well-seasoned, and delicious. My Smash Burger was solid and came with a lot of toppings and sauce. We both were surprised by how massive the Chicken Katsu was (partially pictured behind the mountain of fries). We also liked the gyoza's, especially the dipping sauce that came with it. The service was good and we got our drinks/food quickly. They even provided small hand towels and boxed up our leftovers. Definitely one of the best happy hour menus in downtown Cleveland. I could see myself coming back soon.

Great service and vibes! Shayla was our server and she was amazing and attentive! Would come back!!

We ate here last night with a group of 8, and we were so impressed! We had a hard time finding a place to even seat 8 people at 6:30 on a Friday night (we did make reservations) much less provide a menu that could please that many people with different dietary issues (Vegan/Gluten Free, etc), but Sora not only met our needs it exceeded our expectations. First of all, the place is beautiful. You will want to stand and stare a minute when you first arrive, from the cherry blossoms overhead to the gorgeous art painted on the walls. We were welcomed immediately and seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and efficient, again this was no small task with a bit group at a very busy time. She made great recommendations and we started with several appetizers for the table: Crab rangoon Mozzarella stick, Goyza, and crunchy rice with avocado. They were all good and cooked to perfection, but the Crab Rangoon Mozzarella sticks were show stoppers. This is fun fusion at its finest, and everyone agreed we could have just lived on those. We had to put in sushi orders early as there was a bit of a backup with the kitchen, but our server did a great job of keeping us informed about the timing and made all the entrees work out so people getting hot dishes got them at the same time as people who ordered cold dishes. I had the sora roll which is another great fashion dish with a simple tempura shrimp and avocado roll upscaled by adding thin slices of wagyu beef, spicy mayo and dark sweet soy. I loved the combo. My wife had the peking duck and said it was fantastic with a good bit of flavor and a hint of kick, cooked to perfection so it didn't get dry. My son had the mushroom risotto which he said was very flavorful, and carried a bit of asian spiciness. Other people at the table had sushi, the katsu chicken, and the crab fried rice. No one was disappointed! Finally my wife and I split the smoked creme brûlée and all I can say is, you should save room for dessert because this was a fantastic spin on a classic! The only thing I would note is that it's not a quiet restaurant. Do not expect to have a hushed or private conversation here, but even with the big group I could still hear everyone, so it's not like it's ear splitting or anything. Honestly, every part of this experience impressed me and I would love to go back next time I'm in town.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner experience. So much to, in fact, that I came back again during my trip to have the crispy rice again! I enjoy that the location is easily walkable within downtown and the wait staff was very kind.

THE GOOD Crab Rangoon mozzarella sticks!!!! Wowza I am definitely going back there for those alone The crab fried rice- delicious, rich The ambiance- it is very aesthetic THE BAD Service/ management. one server had half the restaurant as her section, with 5 ish food runners, she was running around like crazy. While I felt bad for her I also was starving! I didn't even get an order for food in until an hour plus after I was sat and didn't get the food until an hour after that, it was a big yikes The management did give me a gift card but I honestly would rather they just staffed better. the sushi- really disappointed, especially after all the great reputation. the pricing- quite high, especially for the amount of sushi received. OVERALL I guess I will be back to use my gift card, probably on takeout, for the crab Rangoon mozzarella sticks

We were excited to try this sushi and fusion spot after looking at the menu before going in. We tried a number of dishes. This place is very beautiful inside, and some dishes were great. Good bites: Spider Roll, Crispy Rice, Karaage Chicken. Crab Rangoon served mozzarella stick style is good, but very rich. If there was a different sauce with some acid, it would be even better. The horchata inspired tea was delicious. But unlike most Asian places, they served 2 pots instead of having us share. It made room on the table extra tight. I love crudo, and here they have 3 options. Sadly, the yellowtail crudo was very fishy and the sauce on it is as well. The way it is plated is unappetizing. After one bite, we had to send it back. That unfortunately steered us away from ordering any other fresh sushi. A table near us also sent their fresh salmon sushi back. The manager took half off of that dish. We finished with a poached pear. Again, plated in an awkward way, it was served in a deep bowl with a lot of the poaching liquid and charred lemons. Then they put the ice cream that comes with it in the same bowl. The result was watered down ice cream around the pear. There are crunchy bits added for texture that also end up getting soft in all the liquid. I was appreciative of a fresh bite of fruit after the heavier meal, but it was not the best end. Good service, okay sushi, pretty place to eat, but plating, table management, and flavors could be improved for a better experience.

Sora was awesome!!! My boyfriend and I came here on a Monday night without a reservation for our anniversary dinner, and we were seated almost immediately. Our servers were very kind and patient, explaining the entire menu when we told them it was our first time here, and gave us several recommendations. We ended up getting the toro crudo, crab rangoon mozzarella sticks, and two omakases (sushi and sashimi). We also tried their drinks - I got the Sakura (which was a very refreshing, non-alcoholic drink), while my boyfriend got one of the draft beers. Our food came out relatively quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by everything! The crab rangoon mozzarella sticks were crispy, flakey, and flavorful, and the toro crudo was extremely light and fresh -- the perfect appetizers. Our omakase platters were plated beautifully and were so, so delicious; the fish was fresh, cut well, and paired well with the various toppings the chefs put on top. I also love that they had fresh wasabi (which wasn't too spicy)! While it is a bit pricey, I think the quality of all the ingredients made the experience worth it. Overall, I'd definitely come back!! Note: The restaurant can be a little hard to find, but it is on the ground floor of a hotel building, right next to a parking structure (which is a little pricey, but less so than valet). To get to the parking structure, you just need to drive through the one-way street and past the valet area, and the entrance to the parking garage will be on the right side.

This place is an Asian fusion sushi steakhouse. And with that combination, you'd think part of the menu would suffer, but it doesn't. Every single thing I ate was simply amazing. Appetizers, entrées, and sushi were all perfect. The restaurant is a jumping place. A little loud at times, but we had a large table. Sitting at the bar is also a treat to watch the chefs work. The service was fantastic, even with a big table. This place is not to be missed if you are in Cleveland.

Disappointing portion and texture - noodles were very sticky I had to separate them with chopsticks and fork
    Mazen H.

The vegetables were fresh and the flavor was decent, but the portion was much smaller than expected. The ramen noodles were clumped together into a sticky mass underneath the vegetables and had to be separated with chopsticks before they could be eaten. It felt more like a small lunch portion than a dinner entrée. Unfortunately it didn't match the photos I'd seen online.

The ambience is amazing and service is great beautiful place to take someone for a first date like I did myself me and my boyfriend very much. Enjoyed the time here and Josh is an amazing Bartender five stars all day!!

I had been wanting to try Sora for a while and was happy when a friend decided this would be our dinner location before a concert. Cute atmosphere and friendly wait staff. For starters we had crab Rangoon fried mozzarella. I thought it was a creative and tasty twist on the classic. After our apps one of the chefs actually came by the table and I asked what he would recommend. He spoke very highly of the pork belly, so I went with it and I enjoyed it. It was both sweet and savory, but not too salty. The dessert was really good. The kid and me loves anything peanut butter and jelly, so a dessert with this flavorings was a no brainer. I think it may have been seasonal, but it was delicious.

Went for Mario night. Food was good. There was only 2 set ups for gaming which was disappointing. Servers were really nice. Princess peach cupcake was dry and taste more like a carrot cake.

First, I got one of their cocktails, which had the consistency of cough syrup and tasted strongly of liquor. Most of their cocktails were made with cheap liquor (think Bacardi) which turned me off, especially for an upscale restaurant. The Gomakase undoubtedly had great quality ingredients; some of the darker pieces were absolutely delicious. We LOVED the eel and the fatty tuna. However, the rice on every piece was undercooked and a little crunchy, and I feel that poorly cooked rice is a deadly sin in Asian cuisine. It definitely texturally detracted from the experience. Overall, I feel that Goma is more geared towards an opulent tourist population rather than trying to stick to Japanese authenticity. I think for the price we paid, we could have gotten something better.

Although you can hear every single conversation around you, it isn't a bother. Suggestion, play some cool Asian fusion music to enhance the experience. Our servers left something to be desired. I wanted to communicate with her, but wearing an outdoor winter vest and her disconnected behavior canceled that attempt. Tyler was our server who we barely saw. I had to ask his name, and thats a pet peeve to start. He never cleared our bread and butter dishes ...also annoying to have dirty dishes in front of me...especially after I pushed them to the edge ... a clear indication to take it away. Now the food. My corn chicken chowder was served hot and creamy. Loved it. I have been lucky enough to eat at some amazing restaurants in North America and throughout Europe…read more I really wanted to leave a great review for this local restaurant... I really wanted to. Since a number of our friends have been to this establishment and left great reviews, I really wanted to do the same. I really wanted to. However, I'm struggling to do so. It started with our table not being ready yet, no worries there, we understand. The host took us to a lovely little alcove and sat the four of us down and we were quickly approached by the Sommelier. This establishment obviously takes their wine very seriously, almost to the point of being pretentious. But not all of us are wine drinkers. Due to an allergy to sulfites. When we looked at the list of available mixed drinks, nothing really appealed... So my wife asked for a simple vodka and tonic. She was informed that that was not one of the "APPROVED" drinks that they offered. What !?! They have vodka, they have tonic... Why can't we get what we want? When my friend requested an IPA he was informed that IPAs don't pair well with the food offerings, consequently, they do not have that option. Frankly, shouldn't that be HIS decision what he feels pairs with HIS palette and not the restaurants? Just a bit pretentious. Did I mention I really wanted to write a great review? So we sucked it up and ordered two glasses of overpriced white wine ($18 for a glass of mediocre wine) and two of the "approved" drinks offered. At this point, I'd like to state that the service we received other than the initial pretension exhibited by the wine Sommelier, was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and well trained and the support staff made sure that our water glasses were filled. Thankfully, I can leave a great review with regards to them. Now to the food... the dumpling sampler was delicious. The four of us ordered the ribs, the duck, the beef and I ordered the Dan Dan noodles. Honestly, almost all of the dishes were deliciously prepared, albeit a bit modest on the quantity of food presented. Our waiter initially suggested that these could be shared... I'm not sure how we would do that with the smaller plates offered as entrées. My noodles, however, came out as a solid chunk of over microwaved noodles, the kind that you get if you forget to take your Costco ramen out of the microwave in time. It was a solid block of dried out noodles. I was about to call our waiter over and ask that they give it another shot. When out of the corner of my eye I saw my wife giving me "the look", don't make it a thing her eyes said to me. So I took my chopsticks and pried the noodles apart, and tried to mix them with the sauce as best as I could. So to summarize; *A little too pretentious on the whole drink thing. I think they're trying too hard. *Service was great *Three out of four entrees were a success * $17 for a mixed drink is pricey but doable, $18 for mediocre wine not so much. As I mentioned, I really wanted to leave a good review... sadly other than the waiter and the support staff I find it difficult to do. Thank you

When we got sat, it took around 15 minutes for a server to greet us and when she did, the energy shifted. I understand people have bad days but the tip percentage is decided upon the quality of service. A bitter attitude and a lack of attention is not the usual expectation when dining out. When our appetizer arrived, disappointed accompanied it. The Bang Bang Shrimp has always been a crowd favorite; this time around it was burnt yet soggy pieces of shrimp. The sauce was enveloped by the taste of frying oil, causing the flavor to be bitter. By the time our entrees arrived, morale was at an all time low but the first bite of my roll made up for it. The Ichiban roll is unique- asparagus with spicy salmon and yellow tail may sound bizarre but it works. I've come to the conclusion that Sakana is purely a sushi restaurant. I have never been displeased by the quality and flavor of the sushi. Henceforth I will be ordering off the sushi menu and I recommend you do the same.
