I've been here a few times but never for happy hour. I think this is one of the best happy hour offers I've seen! Lots of food options (full-size entrees) for great deal prices, and an assortment of drink offers. We had the Spirited Away (very sweet) and Mango Sticky Rice (also very sweet) cocktails with our dinner. While the spirited away was a little too sweet for me, the mango sticky rice was so good and hit the spot. You could definitely taste the sweet rice flavor, and the drink was beautifully crafted. Our food came in huge proportions. I think the fries were my favorite though because the furikake seasoning gave it a special taste. I think they were some of the best fries I've had in a while, honestly. Hosts and servers were great and the food came out very fast. Went for happy hour with a friend. We had the spirited away and mango sticky rice cocktails which were both good but the mango sticky rice was the favorite of the two for taste and presentation. I ordered the Smash Burger and they got the Chicken Katsu Sandwich, we also had the Pork & Chicken Gyoza's. The Nori Fries came included with the burger and sandwich and were crisp, well-seasoned, and delicious. My Smash Burger was solid and came with a lot of toppings and sauce. We both were surprised by how massive the Chicken Katsu was (partially pictured behind the mountain of fries). We also liked the gyoza's, especially the dipping sauce that came with it. The service was good and we got our drinks/food quickly. They even provided small hand towels and boxed up our leftovers. Definitely one of the best happy hour menus in downtown Cleveland. We ate here last night with a group of 8, and we were so impressed! We had a hard time finding a place to even seat 8 people at 6:30 on a Friday night (we did make reservations) much less provide a menu that could please that many people with different dietary issues (Vegan/Gluten Free, etc), but Sora not only met our needs it exceeded our expectations. First of all, the place is beautiful. You will want to stand and stare a minute when you first arrive, from the cherry blossoms overhead to the gorgeous art painted on the walls. We were welcomed immediately and seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and efficient, again this was no small task with a bit group at a very busy time. She made great recommendations and we started with several appetizers for the table: Crab rangoon Mozzarella stick, Goyza, and crunchy rice with avocado. They were all good and cooked to perfection, but the Crab Rangoon Mozzarella sticks were show stoppers. This is fun fusion at its finest, and everyone agreed we could have just lived on those. We had to put in sushi orders early as there was a bit of a backup with the kitchen, but our server did a great job of keeping us informed about the timing and made all the entrees work out so people getting hot dishes got them at the same time as people who ordered cold dishes. I had the sora roll which is another great fashion dish with a simple tempura shrimp and avocado roll upscaled by adding thin slices of wagyu beef, spicy mayo and dark sweet soy. I loved the combo. My wife had the peking duck and said it was fantastic with a good bit of flavor and a hint of kick, cooked to perfection so it didn't get dry. My son had the mushroom risotto which he said was very flavorful, and carried a bit of asian spiciness. Other people at the table had sushi, the katsu chicken, and the crab fried rice. No one was disappointed! Finally my wife and I split the smoked creme brûlée and all I can say is, you should save room for dessert because this was a fantastic spin on a classic! The only thing I would note is that it's not a quiet restaurant. Do not expect to have a hushed or private conversation here, but even with the big group I could still hear everyone, so it's not like it's ear splitting or anything. We were excited to try this sushi and fusion spot after looking at the menu before going in. We tried a number of dishes. This place is very beautiful inside, and some dishes were great. Good bites: Spider Roll, Crispy Rice, Karaage Chicken. Crab Rangoon served mozzarella stick style is good, but very rich. If there was a different sauce with some acid, it would be even better. The horchata inspired tea was delicious. But unlike most Asian places, they served 2 pots instead of having us share. It made room on the table extra tight. I love crudo, and here they have 3 options. Sadly, the yellowtail crudo was very fishy and the sauce on it is as well. The way it is plated is unappetizing. After one bite, we had to send it back. That unfortunately steered us away from ordering any other fresh sushi. A table near us also sent their fresh salmon sushi back. The manager took half off of that dish. We finished with a poached pear. Again, plated in an awkward way, it was served in a deep bowl with a lot of the poaching liquid and charred lemons. Then they put the ice cream that comes with it in the same bowl. The result was watered down ice cream around the pear. There are crunchy bits added for texture that also end up getting soft in all the liquid. I was appreciative of a fresh bite of fruit after the heavier meal, but it was not the best end. Sora was awesome!!! My boyfriend and I came here on a Monday night without a reservation for our anniversary dinner, and we were seated almost immediately. Our servers were very kind and patient, explaining the entire menu when we told them it was our first time here, and gave us several recommendations. We ended up getting the toro crudo, crab rangoon mozzarella sticks, and two omakases (sushi and sashimi). We also tried their drinks - I got the Sakura (which was a very refreshing, non-alcoholic drink), while my boyfriend got one of the draft beers. Our food came out relatively quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by everything! The crab rangoon mozzarella sticks were crispy, flakey, and flavorful, and the toro crudo was extremely light and fresh -- the perfect appetizers. Our omakase platters were plated beautifully and were so, so delicious; the fish was fresh, cut well, and paired well with the various toppings the chefs put on top. I also love that they had fresh wasabi (which wasn't too spicy)! While it is a bit pricey, I think the quality of all the ingredients made the experience worth it. Overall, I'd definitely come back!! Note: The restaurant can be a little hard to find, but it is on the ground floor of a hotel building, right next to a parking structure (which is a little pricey, but less so than valet). After our apps one of the chefs actually came by the table and I asked what he would recommend. He spoke very highly of the pork belly, so I went with it and I enjoyed it. It was both sweet and savory, but not too salty. The dessert was really good. The kid and me loves anything peanut butter and jelly, so a dessert with this flavorings was a no brainer. We had a very late dinner here before heading over to the Flats, and luckily they were able to seat us without a reservation. The inside decor is super cute and fancy, it almost feels like a club in there, except thankfully the music wasn't blaring. We were seated at a table in the back room, so it was a bit more secluded and quiet which was nice (the umbrellas on the ceiling decor was super cute as well). Staff member was quick to come around, but then it was a bit harder to flag them down since we were away from the regular dining area. They serve nigiri, sushi rolls, sashimi options, as well a mix of Japanese fusion entree items including a wagyu burger and a katsu sandwich. The drinks were really tasty and I really enjoyed the flying nimbus drink. The chef's choice sashimi platter came with 21 pieces at $85, which is a decent price, though I wished the waitress had explained what each piece of fish was -- we kind of guessed based on what we know (and it wasn't written on the menu either). We also got a few nigiris including the yellowtail, scallop and tuna. The scallop was my favorite, followed by yellowtail then tuna. Good size sashimi though not the cheapest sushi option. All in all, we enjoyed the ambiance and the drinks, the food was good but not mind-blowing or super special that you couldn't get elsewhere. Its location near the Flats may be a deciding favor though. I would come back again and try more of their huge drinks menu and maybe order a special roll that others have mentioned in their reviews. When we walked in we were kindly welcomed and everyone was so kind to us - the decoration inside is also so well done (definitely an insta worthy spot)! I was in Cleveland with my girlfriend and some friends this past weekend for Tyler, The Creator. We decided to go to Sora for our pre-concert meal, and they did not disappoint. We made a reservation thru Open Table, and it could not have gone smoother. The staff genuinely cared that we had a positive experience. Their air conditioning was out, and we got a call over an hour before our reservation informing us of that. The restaurant itself was so cool, the floral decoration made the place pop.
