Stopped in for a lunch special and a sushi roll. Umm let's start with the food. The lunch special comes with an entree, rice, soup or salad. I ordered the general tso chicken. Chicken was good 8/10 super fresh and crunchy. No complaints Rice was 4/10. Not cooked to order and lacked flavor of the typical Asian rice you normally see. Soup or salad? 0/10 because I didn't receive either. When I ask the server about either. He replied. "Oh I thought you didn't want it" excuse me sir I've never met you before. You don't know what I want and plus I paid my money for one or the other. So that in itself is out of line. To got tempura shrimp roll. That usually consist of shrimp rice and nori. And sometimes cucumber. This monstrosity consisted of a baby shrimp piece cucumber rice nori and imitation crab???? And iceberg lettuce? That is insane. They added all of those extra things to skimp out on the shrimp so that is a never buy again dish. The decor could be updated but the environment was your typical run of the mill mom and pop place so no shame. Service 1/10 this man didn't even offer the soup or salad. All in all. First time here. At first, we were a little worried when we arrived, because the parking lot was empty at 9:00 on a Saturday night. We are big sushi eaters, and are always looking to try a new place. It's not a "fancy" Asian restaurant, but quaint and clean. We were greeted and seated right away, and our server was very polite. The menus, table and booth were clean. Nothing sticky, thank goodness. Nice and quiet also. It's nice to be able to hear each other talk for a change. The prices are very fair for the portion size, and the food came out fast. We ordered raw sushi and hot food. The sushi was well made, and fish cut properly-not paper thin like other places tend to do. Good sized, proper portions. The ponzu sauce was really good, and I am picky about that, not too tart or too sweet. The hot dish was the human style Chicken and shrimp, which was just right. Not too spicy, and picture perfect. It definitely had NOT sat under a heat lamp, and was extremely fresh and very delicious! The sushi entree came with soup and we chose the hot and sour. Now, that is one of my most favorite soups, and they got it right. Best hot and sour soup I have ever had. In all, we give it 5 stars all the way around. I do not know why this place wasn't packed on a Saturday night. We are from Tyler, and they have some great Asian restaurants there-this one absolutely would make it in Tyler and that says a lot. I'd move to Nagadoches just to eat at Asian City. Stopped in while passing through town based on the reviews, and weren't let down. TG for Yelp. I had the steak hibachi luncheon and my friend got the chicken and broccoli. (This comes with a side of soup - we both had the wonton). No complaints about the food - its quality and the amount of each dish, the service, the ambience and most of all the fantastic taste. The owner was very interesting - having moved here many years ago from southern China with a stop first somewhere else in the US. You can tell that the family is very hardworking and customer-oriented. The restaurant business is a difficult one to make a living by. I/we'll be back. read more

I'm not sure why there are not more reviews. Probably because there aren't many cars in the parking lot that's why I passed by many times. I found out a lot of people order take out as there was 15 to go orders while we ate. The staff is definitely authentic and the food is great. The hibachi was absolutely fantastic way better then I expected. The kids loved the chicken and beef Lo main. We tried multiple sushi rolls; The pink lady and Philadelphia were great almost buttery! Not a ton of rice and more authentic then anything else I've found in the area. The staff was polite and attentive and prices super reasonable. Definitely worth a try. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff! They were out of regular chopsticks but they were able to still give me some deconstructed kids chopsticks so I wasn't eating my sushi with a fork or my hands alone. I came in about 12:40 on a Monday for lunch and there were only a few other people there so seating was quick and easy. I started with the wonton soup which was very good. It had a large wonton in it that practically filled the bowl and the broth was flavorful. For rolls I ordered the Golden Roll and an Alaska Roll with cream cheese added. The Golden Roll was very good, the mango was sweet and the tempura shrimp fresh made. The only thing I would change is I would ask for the sauce to be drizzled on the top instead of the whole roll being soaked in it. I think that with a bit less sauce the roll would shine a bit more in the flavor department. This Roll made me very glad that they were able to find chopsticks for me! The Alaska Roll was perfect. The salmon was fresh and clean tasting. The cream cheese and avocado balanced well with it, and the rice was perfectly sticky. All in all I can say I will come here again.
