Whenever I go to my camp in Caroga I always get takeout from Asian Delight. The lady that takes your order is a gem. My go to is the pineapple chicken these days. Always very fresh and tasty. Egg drop soup is a little on the light side, but that's probably better for you. I've had other options and they were all good. The only issue for now is that in just 1 month everything on the menu has gone way up. The pineapple chicken was $15.50 and now it's $19.55. That's a huge jump in a very short time. (Yep I keep menus and receipts) I know the cost of food has gone up but that's way too much. Reviewing the menu it seems many of the large size food choices have gone up about $5. WOW! So I will be experimenting at home and will learn to make pineapple chicken myself. No msg to worry about! read more

We were served reheated scallops. If you have ever eaten scallops you know when they are not freshly cooked, they get super rubbery. My husband got steel wool In his food, like you would scrub a pot out with and they tried to say he put it in there. read more

We've ordered delivery from here numerous times and the food is always delicious and you get a lot for your money. Today I finally came in to sit and eat and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The woman working here (I'm assuming owner as well) is so sweet. She has a grin ear to ear that really makes you feel welcome. On top of that she's speedy quick. My favorite thing about this place is that they're not like most Chinese restaurants around here. They have more Thai options which are seriously lacking around here. I typically get the curry, which I'm incredibly picky about, and they never disappoint! It's flavorful, perfectly spicy (my mouth isn't on fire) and has tons of stuff in it. One thing I miss about the west coast is Thai food so finding this place that serves it and serves it well... is such a blessing! Gloversville is a wonderful city with many great offerings. Thai food, however, is not something that you find in abundance here. So, I was cautiously optimistic when I heard about that Asian Delight offers Asian fusion cuisine. Frequently, "Asian fusion" means a restaurant that does Chinese well and attempts to make Japanese, Laotian, Thai, or other cusines with less than stellar results. Well, I ordered the Green Curry Chicken and it did not disappoint. It had just the right amount of spice (a solid two glasses of water) and the green peppers and beans were crisp, yet tender. Additionally, the service was very friendly, the restaurant was very gorgeous, and our meals arrived lightening fast, taking only about 15 minutes to arrive. I only have two small criticisms. First, of course, is a complaint I have of almost all Asian restaurants. MORE RICE!! I like a fairly high rice-to-entree ratio, so when I get a good, hearty portion of chicken, beans, and peppers, as I did here, I hope for more than just one ice cream scoop of rice. Also, with the green curry being as good as it was, I'd like to see more than four or five Thai options on the menu, especially my favorite Thai dish, Massaman chicken. But, if you're not heading to Asian Delight for some Thai, you should be set for a great meal... just order an extra side of rice. read more

Stopped by this place a couple days ago. It was clean which is one of the things I totally look for in a place I'm going to eat at. The staff and service was friendly too. The egg rolls were good and the chow mein was super tasty and not super greasy. My partner had the mushroom chicken and seemed to really enjoy it. Overall, the price and food are good and the portions are big. I would definitely eat at here again if I'm ever in the area. read more

It pains me to write this review. For many years we loved having Asian Delight on Thursday night, delivery or often take out. But for the past two months every thing we have ordered or picked up has been off. From flat out delivering the wrong food to delivering very flat versions of what we normally had enjoyed. Tonight was the final straw- the soup we ordered was only 3/4 full, and literally consisted of a few raw vegetables and a few shrimp. We poured it out and lamented at how far this once great oasis in a desert of Asian food had become. The chef specials were soggy and cold when delivered, flavorless and poorly cooked. Thursday night was a tradition for us ordering from you, but you abandoned us. We are now going to look elsewhere. This was once an awesome restaurant- we stick with it for months to turn around. I am a truck driver, and with limited options for delivery, I called these guys. I asked if they had changed the recipes for the Crab Rangoon or the Lo Mein within the last 15 years, and they said no. Now, granted, I should have asked how long that person who answered the phone has been working there, and requested someone a little more knowledgeable answer that question, but that is my fault. I've been eating americanized chinese cuisine (ACC) for as long as I can remember, and been using chopsticks for just as long, so I know good ACC when I eat it. I forgot to request chopsticks, but that doesn't mean it's the end of the world, though they also forgot to give me plastic silverware, so it's a good thing i had some in my truck. The crab rangoon used the new recipe, which I really do not care for, it's a bit too acidic for my taste, and the fried rice has obviously been sitting in their warmer for a few hours. The spring roll that came with the combination dinner was fantastic, as was the sesame chicken. Overall, I would be willing to try them again if I am in the area, and would hope to remember to request chopsticks... I feel dirty eating it with a fork and spoon. My suggestions would be to please remember silverware, it's not easy eating rice with your fingers! read more

I love Asian Delight! It is nice to have a restaurant that makes a wide variety of Asian food, not just Chinese. They do all the standard Chinese dishes like General Tso's Chicken and Lo Mein but they also make great Thai food as well. I have only ordered 2 things from them and that is all I ever get. 99% of the time I get the Tofu Pad Thai. Oh my gosh so good! The portion is HUGE and is only about $8.00. It is 2 meals. The noodles, veg, tofu, and peanut dish is amazing. It also comes with an egg roll and freshly made fried rice. They are so nice and always call us by name when we eat there. The Thai Iced Tea is lovely. It has the nice warm spicy taste that I love so much. So, go, try it, enjoy it, and make your tummy happy! read more

We used to be regular customers of this restaurant. We try to support local business , but this is just not fair. They are still using their old menus but have doubled their prices which they do not post on their website so you expect to pay $20 for an order and find out you pay 30+ Some single items have increased by six dollars which would be fine if they posted current prices on their menus and website and you knew before ordering . We were also disappointed in the quality of the food which has deteriorated and the portions of Crispy noodles were minute. With all the other takeout Chinese that are so much better in the area I don't see how this place will survive read more

Not your run-of-the-mill strip mall Chinese joint. All of the Americanized Chinese standbys are great(fresh ingredients!), but they also do some Thai dishes very well too! Pleasant, clean atmosphere if you choose to dine in, and the owners and the rest of the staff are fantastic. We are lucky to have them in our quaint little city! read more

They used to get a 5-star rating from me because the woman is so nice and always remembers people and we love the general tsos tofu. But it seems like all the years of me ordering it with no egg, someone should've told me the tofu is coated in egg before it's fried?? They're keeping the second star because I'm glad they offer a vegetarian option, but they're down from 5 stars because I've been lied to for almost 10 years now. I'm really upset about it because literally everything I ordered, I'd say "no egg, no egg, no egg." There's a trend there!! I've since moved and finally found somewhere that's general tsos tofu was like Asian delights. The second time I had it and said "no egg," the guy told me the tofu was coated in egg. And this is the ONLY other place I've ever been that has it like Asian Delight's... and I can see patterns. the food was 3.5 stars but they are waaaay over priced, so that knocked em down to two stars. I've had the food here a few times. The General Tso's chicken was pretty decent, the pieces of meat were bigger than I'm used to and the sauce was very good, not as sweet at a lot of places. The breading was crisp but something seemed a little off about it. the pork fried rice wasn't very good in my opinion, but the eggrolls were great. I also tried the beef satay, and while the meat was pretty dry, I liked the peanut dipping sauce. The ribs were ok, the meat was more tender than a lot of places and the sauce was pretty good, but again it was $11 for 6 ribs, too much. One thing that was fairly priced was the pint of sweet and sour chicken, but it wasn't very good, the texture seemed a little off and the sauce wasn't very flavorful. My least favorite thing was the Mango Chicken. I've never had mango chicken, but I like mango and I like chicken, so it sounded right up my alley. it wasn't. Maybe it was my fault for expecting something else, but I paid $12 for a big plate of vegetables with some mango chunks thrown in with some strips of chicken that seemed like they were boiled. I guess this would have been good if you were on a diet, but damn it I wanted breaded chicken in a mango sauce! So yeah, you'll get an ok meal here depending on what you order, but your wallet won't be thanking out. read more
