In A Nutshell: -Jackie's Diner is the type of mom & pop diner you think of when you want to enjoy great food w/ great service at a great price in small town USA. -Located off Highway 29 in Gloversville in Upstate New York, you will find this gem. -I ordered, "The Route Twenty Niner" breakfast which consisted of 3 eggs, home fries, corned beef hash & toast for only $9.50! -If you look at their menu you will see many affordable prices like we went back in time before inflation. -The corned beef hash was so darn good, I highly recommend it. Overall, the service is really top-notch here, so friendly w/ much needed humor in today's world. I love Jackie's Diner!!!

A solid dive with a decent diner menu. Best I can figure is the people complaining are high maintenance city slickers. It's a diner.... Friendly staff and good food.

Hard and chewy pancakes undercooked Hashbrowns.

Absolute garbage! we thought we'd give it a second chance a year later, but that was a mistake. Nothing was prepared properly eggs were undercooked as well as the hashbrowns both swimming in grease. Pancakes were tougher than my tires but not as tasty. Avoid this please.

These are the fries I was served. Smelled of nasty old fryer oil. Like seriously?? Wtf is wrong with this place? Wtf is wrong with the "chef" to plate this and what's up with the waitress to even serve this to me?? You can not ignore the smell of that and then to ask if I wanted a box? Yea. OK. This place is shit people. Just don't waste your money. They can't even make fries. Also, the breaded mushrooms were disgusting and frozen obviously, their mash must be from a box, turkey dinner was just bad... like the best thing was the store bought chips people. Don't waste your money here. This place should be shut down if this is the garbage they put out. *picture included*

two plates of breakfast food

We visited Jackie's Diner twice while we were vacationing at a nearby ADK town. The first meal I had (pictured) was perfect. I asked for blueberry pancakes with 2 eggs over medium, bacon and potatoes. Husband had a cheese omelet. Delish. No complaints at all. Went back a few days later, got the same exact order and you'd think we were at a totally different place. They forgot to add the blueberries, some of my bacon was still rubbery/pink and the potatoes were cut so large they were undercooked as well. I told our waitress (who was wonderful btw) and asked for some blueberries on the side. To my dismay, they were not fresh blueberries. I received very small pea-sized frozen ones with almost no taste. Pass. Kind of surprised she'd even considering serving them as acceptable but maybe that's just me. Apparently "Steven" was the cook that day and that was his third mistake already (as overheard by the waitstaff discussing the issue I made them aware of) . My husband had the same omelet and said it was fine but his potatoes were undercooked as well. If I were to rate Jackie's based in our first experience, it would be totally different than if I rated it purely in the 2nd. All in all, it really comes down to who's behind the griddle that day I guess. Besides the food inconsistencies, the waitstaff is attentive and considerate (I was not charged for the blueberries) and the atmosphere is small town, laid back and welcoming. I'd go back and give them another chance if we're back in the area again but Steven needs more training.

Stop and eat here!!! You can't beat the price and the food is excellent! The service is friendly and efficient. The WiFi is free. The dining areas are large and comfortable.

The Bacon grilled cheese is incredible!

Fantastic food! The service for lunch has been very slow, even thou there isn't very many people there to eat. It takes forever to get your check and pay once so you can get back to work. But the food has been incredibly good!

The Broadalbin Diner is a cozy hometown restaurant located in the former Cafe In The Village,…read moreserving breakfast and lunch. They opened in this space a few years ago after one of the the former ownership passed away. In 2023, the place was temporarily closed and remodeled after water damage from the space above the diner. The space has two sections with booths and tables, gumball machines & Broadalbin Diner shirts for sale in front, and there is an ATM conveniently in the back since it's currently cash only. The breakfast offerings including the usual suspects include egg dishes, omelets, scramblers/skillets, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, sausage gravy & biscuits, and breakfast sides. The lunch offerings include hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, burgers, wraps, soup, salads, chicken tenders, and a kids menu. The prices here seem fair. I stopped by the Broadalbin Diner for lunch recently around noontime. The place was moderately busy and it was seat yourself. I found an open table, which was promptly wiped down and given a menu. I requested an ice water and placed my order for the Mushroom Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($10.59 plus tax) with homemade chips & dill pickle spear and a Side of "Homemade" Corned Beef Hash ($6.99 plus tax). The food came out together in short order. The sandwich was big which had a tender grilled chicken breast topped with melted Swiss cheese & sauteed mushrooms, green lettuce & tomato slices on a soft thick Kaiser bun, mayo on the side. The homemade potato chips were definitely very good. The corned beef hash was not much of a portion, which was grilled browned and crisp outside with very small potato cubes & mushed corned beef which seemed like the canned version, just doctored up and grilled firm. After I was done, I was given the check which was $18.99 with tax and before tip. I really enjoyed the homemade potato chips with the tasted grilled chicken sandwich. The corned beef hash was pretty standard though. The service was prompt and I was able to enjoy my food in peace as the dining room was still quite busy.
