This tiny, hidden gift to the ramen world is not to be overlooked. To date, this is my favorite place for authentic, Japanese ramen. (Disclaimer: I am not Japanese but I REALLY love their ramen!) I highly recommend any of the ramen dishes (yep. I've tried them all.) Just make sure you order it with their incredible, homemade tonkatsu broth! The pork or seafood are the tastiest selections by far. Portion size is excellent. Sometimes I "try" to save half for another meal but that broth..... I think three stars is a gift, but they seem like very nice people and I wish them well. My friend has been telling me this is his "go to" Chinese place in town for many months, and I've seen some decent reviews online. I headed there on Wednesday to give it a try. I called ahead and placed the order, and I was very pleased to see it was ready for me when I arrived. As a bonus, they give you a reusable shopping bag around the brown bag for extra support. I also like that the sauce packets and fortune cookies are out in the open for one to bag as many as you need. I've never seen that before, that's a nice touch. Overall, the food was OK at best. It wasn't as good as my go to, which is Yummy taste. The general Tso chicken was like little chicken nuggets, had no red peppers in it at all, and one sad little piece of broccoli at the bottom. It was not prepared Szechuan style as requested, and was much more sweet than spicy. No heat at all, actually. That may have been a communication gap on the phone, however. My wife had the clear soup and was pleased. I thought the hibachi fried rice was a bit disappointing. The barbecue spareribs were OK, but not as good as others I've had in town and the sauce was way too sweet. I would go back, but this is in no way my go to for Chinese. read more

Giving them a five to try to offset the one star review. When a place opens at least for the first month you have to give them a little bit of wiggle room and benefit of the doubt. That being said I think this place is a solid four for their portion size, boba tea selection and being the only Chinese food game in that little area. The service was friendly and as I said you get a lot for the money. The online ordering is also a plus and all in all the experience was pretty good. Food was definitely edible and tasty (got the sweet and sour chicken and lo mein). So a solid four but definitely check them out. Though everyone is entitled to their opinion you gotta help the little guy out.. unfairly low scores within such a short period of time of them being open I think is a little unfair to the business. read more

I went to Asian Express on Routh 18i and Racetrack road and had egg drop soup and shrimp fried rice. I had a short wait of about 10 minutes as the dishes are all made fresh to order. I got it to go and I have to say that the soup was outstanding as was also the shrimp fried rice. I use to live around here but now I iive in Michigan. After all the buzz about this new, local Chinese food place - we had to check it out. And I am so glad, because it did not disappoint! We ordered all of our usuals to truly get a comparison and the thing that stood out most to me was how flavorful everything was. Chinese food is always good but often just tastes...greasy. The spring rolls tasted garlicky, you could really taste pineapple in the sweet and sour sauce, and the chicken and broccoli sauce was really good too. My son wanted chicken lo mein, and it tasted fishy. As far as I know, it's not supposed to taste like that. A chef friend of mine says, they're most likely reusing oil when frying up the stuff. The very first order from them was just not a good experience. They sent 1 item completely wrong and it was cold. The shrimp toast was very greasy and the chicken lomein had a foul taste that tasted like hose water. Their prices are more expensive than similar restaurants in the area. read more
