Shrimp Avocado Roll Spicy Crunch Shrimp Roll Spicy Crunch Tuna Roll
    Paul S.

Had a lunch to go order and they were super knowledgeable on the phone to explain some unique rolls. The lunch special was ready very quick and I didn't have to wait. The Sweetheart roll was very good, shrimp tempura topped with spicy tuna and crunch (not too spicy if you don't like spice). Tuna roll was very good the pieces are a little small but I don't mind because they're easier to eat. Spicy crunch salmon roll was a nice twist on a normal spicy tuna roll, the added crunch was very good. I tried the Salmon Skin roll and it was crispy salmon skin inside the roll with Salmon (super unique, I've never heard of this before). Shrimp avocado was very fresh and again pieces weren't too big. Spicy shrimp crunch roll was very good and the crunch again was a great touch and distinctive. Spicy tuna crunch roll again was very good with the added crunch. The lunch rolls were all a little smaller than traditional rolls but the Specialty roll was larger pieces. Overall great place to try out. They have many seats at the sushi bar and tables for in-house dining. Enjoy! I would definitely return.

Place is ok. Service could be better. Front staff is young and it feels like a teenage clique at the front door. Food is okay. We got a salad and some rainbow rolls. Ambiance is good. We placed a pickup order, but I did notice the place was clean.

Three and a half stars. Small parking lot in front; small space inside, cozy. Very friendly young woman my waitress very affable and accommodating served me a very good mug of hot green tea. Ordered pork katsu bento box: fairly standard fare (preceded by a small green salad and miso soup). Tasty, above average (thus the extra half star). Difficult to imagine going back for the food, but excellent service.

I stopped by on a whim for an early dinner after forgetting the restaurant we planned to go to was closed that day. I have always planned to try Ichiban as I live close by and happy to say I would return! The sushi was flavorful and fresh but I found the basic rolls to be on the small compared to other sushi restaurants. Service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant is on the smaller side and when I left the parking lot was pretty full so I can see it being difficult at prime dinner time to get a spot

    Electric Roll

I'm from out of town and was visiting family when I was recommended this place for dinner. It doesn't seem all that from outside but once you walk in, the vibe is completely calm and relaxing with nice mood lighting. I was not expecting the variety offered and was very satisfied with the freshness to everything given here. I had the Electric Roll and it was divine; similar to the lemon salmon I always order at home in Vegas. Our waitress was very attentive and was clearing our table periodically, which is always nice. Can't wait to come back for their lunch specials!

This is a nice little restaurant on Rt 46 in Ledgewood. On a Saturday evening, this place was crowded with what looked like lots of takeout orders. I have to admit that I'm a bit of a novice with sushi and Japanese cooking, but I thought the dishes were all tasty. We started off by getting California and Philadelphia rolls for the table. These were very good. The chefs prepare everything fresh in the kitchen right in front of you, which is interesting to watch. For meals, my wife had the steak hibachi, I had chicken tempura, and my stepson had the Mexican roll. I thought mine was ok, but the others really enjoyed what they had. If you're a fan of sushi, this is a solid choice in the area.

    Tonkotsu Ramen

Small place but who needs big when you serve good food. Waitress was attentive and let me know they didn't have the seafood ramen but shared her recommendation of tonkotsu ramen instead. I went for that and the foxy lady roll. Both were delicious. Sorry no pic of the foxy lady roll I scarfed it down before I remembered to take a pic.

Spicy Salmon Roll and the Gentleman's Roll

We've been to Ichiban Sushi twice. Fresh tasty edamame and sushi. I really enjoyed the Gentleman's Roll with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber wrapped in the green color soy paper. Delicate flavors and beautiful presentation. We tried the vegetable yaki soba and chicken yaki soba this time as well. Both were delicious but could've used a few more veggies. Service is good. It's a busy place, lots of takeout orders so it's not super fast. The booths are the best place to sit. We were at a table and it was a bit chilly there with the door opening up a number of times. Might do takeout next time.

Very good sushi, never been disappointed. They get busy so there can be a wait for takeout but it's worth it.

Large rolls to justify the cost, even though it's not crazy expensive. Good variety of special rolls.

One highlight was the Pickle Me roll (Shrimp Tempura, pickle, and spicy salmon). Had never had pickle inside a sushi roll before, but it was excellent - we ordered a second one! Everything was excellent though - the Beauty and the Beast Roll (spicy tuna topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, and wasabi mayo), the Denville King Roll (spicy lobster, mango, avocado, and sweet chili sauce), and the BBQ squid were also favorites. Fairly reasonably priced and great quality for an all you can eat. We'll definitely be returning. Would recommend reservations for busy times as there was ~30 minute wait on Saturday.

This used to be one of my favorite all you can eat sushi spots, and I honestly recommended it to a lot of people. I hadn't been back in about a year, but since it's always packed, I assumed the quality was still the same. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The biggest issue was the freshness. The sushi tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier instead of being made fresh to order. The fish lacked that fresh, clean flavor I remembered, and the texture just wasn't right. The sashimi slices were surprisingly tiny compared to what they used to serve, and both the eel and the albacore tuna tasted old, which was really disappointing. On top of that, the portions were noticeably smaller across several dishes. I don't mind smaller portions at an all you can eat restaurant if the quality is there, but this time neither the quality nor the freshness met the standard I remembered. I'm not sure if management or the kitchen has changed, but the experience was completely different from what it used to be. I truly hope this was just an off day because this restaurant was once one of my favorites. Sadly, based on this visit, I can't say I'd rush back.

The place is a simpler local eatery, so decor wasn't exactly a designed by some of the best New York interior decorators, but it was pleasant and very calm.
