After overcoming a cold that had me laid up with minimal appetite the past several days, I had a craving for something stir fried. I researched what was in the area I was going to be running errands and discovered Asian Garden. I looked at their menu online and noticed some items that caught my attention including Ho Fun, Vegetarian Proteins, and some Malaysian dishes. Upon my arrival, no patrons were in the parking lot or in the restaurant. Dining in is not an option as the threshold to the dining area is blocked by a table. I was greeted and ordered the Char Kuey Teow. I was told it would be ready in about 10 minutes so I stood in the foyer and waited. On the table where orders are placed are signage informing customers that actual prices differ from what's printed on the menu and that use of a card for payment incurs a 4% charge. I appreciated the transparency. My food came out and I rushed home to eat. I really enjoyed the dish. Stir fried wide noodles with shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts, onion and scallions in a savory and spicy sauce. I devoured it in its entirety and savored the lingering flavor on my palette. I will definitely return to try some of the other items on the menu that caught my interest based on the cook of what I ordered today. As a reflect on my experience, part of me feels sad. It seems like it's just a couple running the operation and maybe that's why they don't have the dining room open to the public because of the workload it would create for them. Although I was only there for a short period of time, I am curious about the volume of business they are bringing in. I feel if others could experience what I experienced today with the food alone that they could be a more popular establishment. Part of me wishes they had at least someone else on their team who was younger and had more energy to operate the front of house because I would have preferred to dine in then get take out today. I had this presented to me when it was dinner time and boy oh boy was I excited. A new chinese restaurant that had vegetarian (vegan) options in Lancaster county! That alone put me in a great mood. The food, delicious. Not over sauced like some places. I ate the mock chicken with broccoli and enjoyed every single bite. The veggies were crunchy and fresh, nothing soggy at all. Done perfectly. I looked over their menu and can not wait to try every vegetarian item on the menu. I was told the meat is also tasty, but I couldn't tell you. The food is quite good, for the most part. Fresh ingredients are the key. The quality of the food is on par with the other Asian restaurants in the area, though Asian Garden focuses on Chinese food as opposed to a more pan-Asian approach down the road apiece. Servings are generous and prices are very reasonable. Item for item, I think Asian Gardens prices are the winner. There are a one or two items I plan to avoid in the future and the fried won ton tops the list. I'm used to fried won tons that are crisp and delicate. I was surprised to find these to be thick and doughy. I'm not saying the fried won ton was bad, just not to my taste. On the other hand, I thought the fried dumplings were excellent. Ambiance has a "cafeteria" flavor. Nothing to write home about. We'll certainly come back for take-out. They're easy to find, centrally located with ample parking off the street. Burger king could make better Chinese than this place, upon leaving i was stabbed in the parking lot and robbed. I always choose Asian Garden when I want Chinese food. Whenever my friend comes into town from Virginia we always have Asian Garden. We went to order two times in May and remembered they close at 8:00 PM. We refused to order from another Chinese restaurant. Thursday, May 9th we were at Longenecker's in Manheim and were tempted to try the restaurant there, instead we waited until we got back to Lititz. I waited until they opened at 11:00 and placed an order. I picked the order up at 11:19. His food was awesome as always. I was extremely disappointed with mine. The chicken was dried out. It was obviously left over from the previous day. I was unable to eat any of the chicken. The pieces were tiny and just greasy breading. If they were not prepared to start serving chicken first thing that morning, I would have understood and ordered something else. I will not give up on them and will order again in the future. read more

For a small town in central Pennsylvania, this really isn't a bad Asian restaurant. The owners are humble and helpful. The food is freshly prepared. I ordered the hot and sour soup and found it odd that it contained an extremely large amount of celery, which I picked out. Otherwise the flavor was traditional and the tofu was generous. I also ordered the shrimp with string beans which was prepared in a spicy sweet sauce. I guess I would have preferred the savory sauce, but it was a very pretty dish. The shrimps and green beans were cooked perfectly. It does seem odd that a full size entree only includes one cup of rice, as shown in the picture. Generally Chinese restaurants offer a much larger serving of rice in a covered dish, however a lot does go to waste. It is a no frills restaurant with about 6 booths, and it was very cold in there last night at about 7 PM. I never took off my coat while I dined solo. But for $14 plus tip, I brought home enough food for another meal. This is my second meal here, and it is close to my hotel, so I will be back! read more

After seeing the rave reviews both on Google and yelp, we decided we needed to try this place. I was absolutely not disappointed! This is the best Chinese I've found in the area. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I got Mongolian Beef and it's the best one I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered General chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice. Both were delicious. We also ordered crab rangoons and two spring rolls. The crab puffs were full and not skimpy empty. We were wondering why there is never anyone in the parking lot with such rave reviews, turns out that the service is so quick that we probably always miss customers as we drive by. I don't know what Central PA Yelpers are thinking when they rate this place so highly. Really - have any of you 4- and 5-star raters ever tried a Chinese restaurant in an area where Chinese people actually eat at Chinese restaurants?? My first tip-offs should have been the Lipton tea and the fried noodles served with duck sauce that tasted like the can from which it came. We overlooked these signals due to hunger and ordered Pork Lo Mein and Chicken Curry, which was a featured item on the menu. The Pork Lo Mein was pretty much tasteless despite being served in a puddle of light soy sauce. The Chicken Curry had an orange powdery residue from the curry mix which hadn't been fully mixed in. The ingredients were not up to the quality I'd expect to find in a decent local grocery store. Just a couple of bites was all it took to be left with a poor aftertaste in my mouth that wouldn't go away until my next meal. To her credit, our server (and maybe part owner?) could see something was wrong when we stopped eating right away. We told her the food wasn't to our liking as nicely as we could, and she said don't worry about the bill. You could tell she felt bad for our experience, she was nothing but nice about it all so we of course felt bad for her and the restaurant in general. We tipped and made as graceful an exist as we could. I don't know why the food was so bad, but we would have left before ordering had it not been for all the glowing reviews on Yelp. This is not the first time we've been burned from Yelp reviews in this area having a higher opinion of a restaurant than is warranted, but this was one of the largest disconnects we've experienced to date. Seriously, I wish we could rate Yelp in Central PA, because if we could we'd be inclined to warn folks to stay off the site. I hadn't been in this place in years, but after seeing positive reviews on Google and yelp about the new ownership, I figured it was worth another try. I won't lie, I went in skeptical but hopeful, because they have a monopoly on Chinese takeout. Mojo is good no doubt, but not quite what most people are looking for in Chinese takeout, and for most of Lititz it's a little further out. This place is a five minute round-trip from my house as opposed to a 25 minute round-trip. I dined in, and the ambience is slightly better than I remember it from four years ago, but still pretty much a hole in the wall. I think from here out I'll be getting takeout from this place. Food was all great! Really good fried rice, vegetables that had clearly not been frozen. Chicken was good, freshly fried and decent sauce. Pleasant clean and a great place for carry out. We sampled the pork fried rice, Gen Tso's, shrimp & snow peas, Lo Mein, egg rolls and the surprise-Malasian chicken curry. All of it was lovely! It was completely packages, all extras included ready to go without spilling in the car. And we got a free sweet n sour chicken with a coupon from the menu. My only very minor critique is the chicken in the curry was cut thin, but odd so it had a few tiny pieces of gristle. Minor issue since the flavor was so good, chicken & potatoes in a curry. Since June, I had take out at least a half dozen times and have not been disappointed. We've eaten their shrimp & chicken dishes, noodles, hot & sour soup, chicken teriyaki and cold sesame noodle. Great feature is nothing is loaded with oil. (The other local Chinese restaurant, which closed temporarily and is reopen under a different name, typically served food high in oil content. The Chinese food is very good. I definately recommend ordering from here over other nearby Asian restaurants in Lititz. After moving here from NJ, I was so disappointed there were not any good Chinese takeout places. The choices were limited, food was below average, and they were overpriced. However, thank goodness Asia Garden is here now! The food is good. The prices are reasonable. And they deliver! We will order from here at least once every other week. read more

So good, and better every time! We have eaten from Asian Garden ten or more times now, and are delighted with it. When we moved from Lancaster to Lititz, we lost our favorite takeout place, 88 Chinese Takeout. When Asian Garden opened, we hoped we had found a suitable replacement, and we're thrilled with it. Finally, we have high quality staples at reasonable prices here in Lititz. Our orders are often ready at remarkable speed, even sometimes 10 minutes or less. The vegetables have always been fresh and of high quality, and meat and seafood portions are generous in the noodle dishes. The fried foods are never overly greasy and the takeout containers are durable and well sealed. There are even a few different special freebies added to meals above a certian size, which has made it very efficient to feed small groups with Asian Garden takeout. My favorite dish here is the Malaysian Char Kuey Teow noodles with the Po Piah appetizer rolls. They're just that little bit something extra beyond the normal American style Chow Mein and Spring Roll that all takeout places have. But the less fancy General Tso's Chicken my wife had tonight was still so good that we both had to stop ourselves from continuing to eat after we were full. It was a great meal, fast and hot at the end of a long day. I really can't say enough good things about Asian Garden. A coworker recomended it to me after the previous resteraunt at this location closed, and I'm so glad to have tried it. We plan to keep coming back! read more

A wet carton in walk-in cooler is being used to store lettuce heads rather than a durable, smooth easily cleanable container. Onion container in walk-in cooler was not clean to sight and touch. There are no paper towels at the hand-wash sink in men's bathroom. In kitchen, an accumulation of dirt and food debris especially under equipment. The person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection. Mechanical ware-washing equipment does not have a manufacturer data plate with operation specifications. Kitchen hand-washing sink is very slow to drain, indicating a clog. Plumbing not maintained in good repair: water is continuously leaking from kitchen hand-washing sink faucet; repeat violation. An open carton is being used to throw away food debris and trash which is not durable, cleanable, leak proof and rodent and insect resistant. Operator is doing her own pest control with unknown chemicals, rather than a person who is a certified applicator. Hand-washing sinks and toilets in both bathrooms are not being cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We decided to get Chinese food for dinner tonight in the town over since we don't really enjoy the options in our area. I normally don't write reviews for Chinese take out places. Chinese take out is Chinese take out. They are nothing really special because they all have similar menus. After hearing reviews and news about the previous owner of this restaurant. I just want to stay clear of this place, and had always ate Mojo and KanPai. It's a lazy day today and i just want someone to deliver my dinner tonight, so I gave in and decided to give Asian Garden a tried. Food was delivered within 20 minutes! WOW! Let me tell you..I was shocked when we opened our bags. There was so much food! I had general tso chicken and hot and sour soup. The general tso chicken was definitely different, but different in a good way. it was WHITE MEAT and also NOT heavy battered in flour like other places (for profit). I probably request sauce on the side next time. I also had the sweet and sour pork. The pork was not dry and freezer burnt like other places either. My family had to agree that is it definitely more flavorful then other Chinese restaurants in the area. Best of all, it is cheaper too. Very surprised. The building isn't very nice and the new owners just opened less than a month ago. The food was outstanding!!! The buffet is very small, but everything on it was healthier and much better quality then a typical Chinese Buffet. The owner talked to us and she said that she knows that her buffet is small so she will add whatever we want if we don't see something that we wanted to try. The general Tso's chicken was chunks of white meat. very lightly breaded. Not soaked it batter and over fried like we are used to getting. They did not have appetizers on the buffet like eggrolls or crab Rangoon. The owner said she would add them if we wanted them. She just said that those items don't keep well and she doesn't like to keep "dairy" on a buffet because it is not good to have that sitting out (when referring to the crab Rangoon).
