How have I not discovered this market sooner?!! This Asian market is literally and perfectly named "Asian Market". Haha. I stopped by for a quick grab of some kimbop (Korean sushi that has things like pickled veggies), but somehow walked out with a bag of Asian chips, mochi, ice cream, drinks, candy, and SIX rolls of kimbop! Yes, SIX!!! I came for 4, but ended up buying extras because they cost only $2 each and were warm and freshly made. (The Asian in me can't resist a good deal!) The owner was the cashier, and he said they have been there for 40 years. What a great mom and pop store: huge variety, excellent prices, and they have fresh kimbop! Staying in Marina while visiting. Glad we found this Asian Market even though where we're from there's hundreds of Asian markets. The store owner was super friendly. Enjoyed walking through it but our home Asian store prices were a lot better. We saw the $2 Kimbap and decided to buy some for lunch. Love this place every time I drive down from San Jose. If you want to order a lot for the kimbap or gimbap, make sure to call ahead so they can prep it for you (would give them 2+ hours in advance). This place is cute and has a lot of things that most stores do not have. But the customer service just sucks... There was two guys that worked there and the customers we were waiting in line about six of us and instead of helping us the employees were just gradually touching things on the shelves. Such a friendly helpful crew of staff. I've been learning to cook Korean food for about a year now. I live I Salinas and couldn't find the products I needed having to go through Amazon for my products. My son told me about this store because he loves the kimbap they sell. They had everything I needed and more. I am so happy to have found this treasure of a store. And the prices were about 60 percent less than I paid on Amazon. I often dream about this place since I live in the south bay now and you have to come in the morning because if you go in the afternoon it's all sold out. One of the best Asian/Korean markets in the Monterey area. Although they aren't as big as an H-mart, they carry almost every Korean cuisine essentials. I like their sushi. Freshly made. They even post up the time they make it. Their sushi ingredients is a little different from the Korean market sushi because they don't have some ingredients which is still good and delicious. I never have a grocery list when I come into this place but somehow always end up getting everything I want. Love the homemade kimchi (pickled napa cabbage) here and the bim bap (sushi rolls), that's what I usually come in for. I've gotten the danmuji (Korean pickled daikon) before and I like that as well. All of their pre packaged food is always fresh as they sell out pretty fast. The prices here are very affordable and everything has been labeled with an orange price tag which is important to me. I don't have to guess how much something is or worse be worried about being charged extra when I get to the front. The atmosphere is great because it's usually pretty relaxed and quite here and everyone is minding their own business. I never feel uncomfortable! I always take my time and the owners let me do so. However, I've had several questions before and the owners have always been willing to help when they're needed. The shelves are always well stocked and the market has always been clean.
