The great thing is it's big (for a Trader Joe's) with plenty of room to move around. The parking lot is "big" as well. However it's shared with other places so it fills quickly. Parking is a nightmare. Why are people so aggressive?! The people driving and walking, lol. Workers are nice and helpful at Trader Joe's. It's everything I'd expect from Trader Joe's. We picked up some stuff for an impromptu charcuterie board and quality is amazing! We were blown away at the quality. I've converted my bf over to Trader Joe's. I enjoy the fresh produce, the salmon is always good, they have goat milk and the wide selection of lunch meats without nitrates .... My family also enjoys the frozen foods, mini pizza, quiche, orange chicken, Cuban bowls, taquitos, frozen brown rice, and their vanilla ice cream is so rich, dense and flavorful , I just can't say enough about how much we enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's. And usually the trader Joe's people are always a friendliest. I think I stumbled in on a racist trader Joe's. I am of African descent and so was my friend. We waited for like 5 minutes and no one asked to assist us in the lines. Someone always asked to assist you in the lines at trader Joe's. I love this location! Parking lot it easy to find and usually always plentiful. What I also love is that it's walking distance to a lot of other great things so you can technically walk here before or after dinner, lunch, etc. To me it's a bigger store so they always have a great selection and variety of items. I now have to stop at a Trader Joe's in every town that I am in. Whether it's for one or two snacks to survive a trip or to see what's new for the week. To tell you that everything was in stock from the November new items was shocking. Sadly, I couldn't grab anything large because I flew into town. By the time I got to my Trader Joe's at home, they were out of the stuffing popcorn. This is a very cute Trader Joe's that is conveniently located walking distance from many of the hotels in Monterey. It's also so close to many coffee shops. I am at a loss for words at how grateful I am for what this team had done for me! I'm from out of town and was so excited to see my favorite grocery store up the street from my hotel. I went in to buy a few items and when I got to the register the transaction wouldn't go through. I left and had them hold my items, and had to call my bank and found out they were having issues and that I would not be able to use my debit card until the issue was fixed. I called them and told them what had happened and to just put my items back and one of the team members told me they would cover it for me! With inflation crazy right now it is nice to have a place to shop where I can buy nearly a weeks worth of food for under $100! Granted, I am only feeding one person, me, duh, lol, but it is refreshing. As a person living on their own, it is excellent to know I can provide for myself economically. I live near a Lucky's and the cost of groceries has gone up so much that what I used to be able to buy for $60-$70 easily goes over $100. Now, Trader Joe's maintains good quality, low cost, delicous food. This location has a parking lot that is a pain in the...well, you get it...but if you are patient and or go early you can avoid a hassle. I always enter this parking lot slowly and with patience. Only a few times I decided to NOT shop because the parking lot was a mess. The inside of this store is always clean and organized and stocked very well. Of course I have my favorites, as everyone does, especially the chicken breakfast sausage. For the most part, Trader Joe's is not your normal grocery. They carry a lot of products you can't find elsewhere. I enjoy shopping at these stores, because of the fresh produce, bread selections, condiments, liquors, and their brand name products. So while vacationing in Monterey, we made a point of visiting a nearby TJ's to stock up on a few snacks and bottled water to have during our daily touristy outings. This place was extremely busy with a small, congested parking lot that almost made us change our minds about shopping here. But in the nick of time, we managed to make the stressful turn into the lot and discover a spot to park in. It was a bit of a shopping challenge maneuvering the crowds of determined shoppers, but the guy at the register was pleasant and made checking out a smooth and less stressful event than I expected. I stopped by this Trader Joe's twice during my latest visit to Monterey since it was close to where I was staying. The parking lot at this shopping center seems to be crowed all the time, but that didn't matter to me since I walked over there. The inside of the store was neat and tidy during both visits. This store is slightly differently organized from the one back home, but still easy to figure out where to find things. I love how each of these stores have their own personal touches, such as the "Welcome to Monterey" sign painted on the wall near the check out area. Lines to check out weren't bad at all, very short wait. And the people working here were super nice, as is typical of Trader Joe's. read more

The location was ideal during our stay in Monterey. The two of us were within a 2 minute walking distance from the shopping center. There seems to be less parking available after 10 AM, so keep that in mind. There appears to be many busy employees and some aisles seem to get more congested. On our first visit on Wednesday afternoon, we bought an almond Danish looking pastry. It was perfect with coffee. On Friday morning, we returned to make our own 6 pack of adult beverages. As always I've amassed another collection of goodies from Trader Joe's! They currently have Sweet Sugar Pumpkins (which make the best pies!) for $1.99 each. They is a plentiful selection of fall delectables and a brewfully epic pumpkin ale! This isn't my favorite time of year so I'll be bringing home some of the positive side of saying; "farewell" to summer via Autumnal delights. Not Service Animal friendly. My dog is a fully trained service animal. She is NOT required to wear a service animal vest. The past month every time I go in I am stopped and told pets are not allowed in the store. Every time I politely explain she is not a pet, she is MY SERVICE ANIMAL. Equivalent to a medical device. I have never made a scene or been disrespectful but I no longer feel welcomed at Trader Joe's. read more

Rumor has it that TJ's is going to build in Marina. I hope so, as that's closer to where I live. In the meantime, I continue to shop here on a regular basis. It's almost like a demolition derby, jockeying for a parking spot. I have a handicap pass, so I can get lucky and score a spot in front. Not always, but most times. I used to shop at the PG Store a few times a week, since it was just minutes from my job (I'm now retired). So, Monterey it is. I find the staff is always helpful if you need something. This TJ's can get pretty crowded, though. There are so many items that I buy here, on a regular basis. Their prices are hard to beat. My only negative comment is that TJ parking is always a nightmare. Let's hope the Marina location is better-- if and when it ever opens! read more

They're always so nice here and the cashiers informed they have some new dessert cookies you can leave in your mug! I can't wait to try them next time because I ended up purchasing a total of three ginger bread men cookies! I purchased two of their mini beautiful poinsettias and omg I love Trader Joe's for that too their flowers are always so fresh and at wonderful prices! This store has great prices and great food both name brands and store brands alike. It's a busy place with an exceptionally busy parking lot. Don't go if you're in a rush. They have an extensive cheese selection, breads in every flavor/style, and prices that can't be beat. The only downside is it's hard to get help, employees WILL help you, but it'd be nice if they were more readily available-they're so busy they really don't have time to stop and help if you have a question. read more
