Really great massage but poorly run business. I got the 90-minute full body massage, and it was one of the best massages of my life (strong pressure, thorough and really worked out my knots). It was a strange massage environment/ business, but I only dinged them one star because the quality of the service (massage) was so high and cheap. They refused to accept the Yelp special ($50 for 90-minute massage even though they acknowledged it when we first came in). They claimed that the special was only good Monday-Thursday and that they didn't put the ad on yelp, someone else did. Throughout the massage, the masseuses would converse with each other through the curtains in Chinese constantly. The traffic and noise from outside sounded like the cars were in the massage "room" right next to you, you can hear all the details of how other people enjoyed their massage as they check out with the cashier, and you can hear exactly how much your neighbor is enjoying (or surviving) their massage. It's a little hard to relax with all the noise. To cap it all off, some disgruntled customer came in and loudly complained that they never called her back for her appointment, sent her a text instead (that went to her spam), and demanded a free massage. Not their fault this lady chose to complain in their venue but it just added to the cacophony of noise that filled my ears for 90-minutes. There is a definitely a language barrier which was fine for me since I didn't need anything specific -- but if you need or want something specialized, you may have difficulty communicating that to the masseuse. read more

I was looking for a 1 hour foot massage - which includes head/neck/shoulders. I had a special request, as I'd recently been injured and did not want any hard pressure on a specific portion of my back (believe it or not, this $25/1-hr foot is almost a full body treatment -reflexology!) James understood and was fantastic - a true professional. This treatment only cost me $25, but it could have easily been $85 - or more! (depending on the place and if you're getting organic cold pressed micro-managed oils & lotions, ha!) I always tip generously and moreso on top if I believe the service was above & beyond, so I gave $10 on top of the $25. And please, I don't throw money around; I ain't no millionaire. I have given this place a few attempts as I live near by. However, it really depends on who you get as a masseuse and I have had some pretty bad ones. I get massages a lot and it seems they do not know how to give a relaxing massage here. Also, the tables are pretty uncomfortable and the head rest gives me a headache. The massage itself was not great but wasn't bad. We walked in for our 3:30 couples massage appointment on time. They look a little confused and say it'll be another 10 mins and honestly no big deal I understand. Then they start to walk us to two different rooms and we explain we are getting a couple's massage and they say there is nothing else, so we go to the first room and the second to last room. About 10 mins into the massage the staff in the center start to have a full on conversation from cubicle to cubicle out loud, then a male masseuse walks into my room and takes over for my female masseuse without telling me anything , they also continue the conversation for a bit before she leaves the room. At this point I'm kinda annoyed but I'm trying to just relax and enjoy the massage so I didn't say anything. I finish the massage pay for the two of us tip the guy ($5) for my massage and wait for my wife's massage to end (wondering why our massages are ending at different times if we started together) then another lady comes and says the guy massaging me was strong and gave me a hard massage so I should tip him more. I told her actually it was a soft massage but that's not the reason I only tipped 5, it's because the place was loud and not courteous, I started with a female and all of the sudden a man walks in and the two masseuses were having a conversation on top of me while I was faced down. Then she tells me next time don't come on the weekend, come during the week. PS: when my wife finished she told me that a female masseuse showed her in but once she had her clothes off a man walked in and tried to start her massage (even though we had asked for a female) to give them the benefit of doubt maybe they thought that when a male/female couple asks for at least one female masseuse they want..... No they are just unorganized and unprofessional. At best your experience here is gonna be a toss up. I think this place is great. I wish I had come here all the times I went to 5 star spas expecting 5 star massages after paying an arm and a leg. For what it is, a simple small family run place that keeps its prices highly affordable, the massages are excellent. I like strong deep tissue so for these therapists to get the spots correctly and treat the tissues is more than one can get many times at high end massage places. And I've tried other places on the street all more expensive and completely unworthy compared to this place. I'm not sure why the bad reviews. To each their own but my most recent massages were at sports club equinox west la and Burke Williams Santa Monica other than here. I also came here throughout my pregnancy last year for foot massages as well as going to Burke Williams and this place they were life savors for me with all the leg pain and swelling I had in the end of the pregnancy. The only reason I give this place 2 stars is because of their poor customer service. I was told to wait twenty minutes and waited and as soon as it was my turn another man walked in. They asked us what massages we wanted and I said I would like the 30 minute foot massage. The man said he wanted the more expensive 1 hr full body massage. They told me they no longer had time to see me and that was that. Luckily there's yelp for situations like this, so instead of getting angry I left and decided to write this review.
