    Salad with ginger dressing
    Deirdre C.

I was out with my 12 year old niece for the day. She picked this restaurant when I asked her where she's like to go for lunch. So this is where we went! It's very nice inside. My niece told me was redone recently. We sat in a booth and the person who waited on us was very nice. I enjoyed a salad with ginger dressing (I love that dressing!) and sushi and my niece had General Tso chicken. She loved it and was happy she had leftovers.

We were very happy to find out that the owner who sold our favorite, Chinese and Japanese restaurant had reopened at a new location! They are now in Richboro and we were welcomed into the beautiful new restaurant by Bruce like old friends, which is how he greeted many other former regulars as well. Service was wonderful as usual and the food was as good as always. Everyone is given a pot of tea and crispy noodles. Two of us had Sesame Chicken and the other had General Tso's Chicken. We were pretty hungry by the time we received our food so I didn't take photos of our entrees. Sorry!

Asian Palace replaced Hong Kong Gourmet in the Richboro Shopping Center a couple of years ago. Same management, but definitely a positive makeover in the dining room and restrooms. The place looks sleek and Asian modern. The cuisine is also significantly improved, with use of higher quality ingredients that appear to have not been frozen before wokking. Beef, chicken, shrimp and flounder were tender and well realized. Our Salt & Pepper Fish was quite tasty and interestingly crisp and flavorful with good peppery finish. Similarly the Beef & Chicken in Orange Sauce was mildly sweet with green and red pepper picking up the amber sauce well. Maybe too much reliance on broccoli to fill the platter, but that is really a matter of cosmetics. Where the kitchen fell short was with their spicier dishes allegedly from the Szechuan recipe book. We found the Garlic Shrimp and Szechuan Chicken to have almost identical tastes, with both too light on the actual garlic and chile pepper content. We searched in vain for garlic cloves in the former and small red chiles or black star pepper in the later. Pretty to behold, but disappointing in realization. Service was friendly and well carried out. While overall a decent meal, the real issue comes from being a fusion house, and trying to be all things to all people. Far better to do only what you can do well without compromise. This palace was not prepared to deliver on true Szechuan cuisine, nor even a strong garlic dish. Better not to offer what you really can't deliver. 3.5 STARS PS. The Egg Rolls were excellent.

We have known Bruce ever since we moved into the Huntingdon Valley area in 2005. At that time he and his brother owned Asian Taste in the Justa Farm Shopping Center. Since the sale of Asian Taste, we were hoping that he would open up again in another spot. A chance meeting led to us being informed that he was opening up in an existing restaurant in Richboro. We eager to again dine on the dishes for which his Asian Taste was known for. Since reopening Sept15, 2023, we visited that weekend, and ordered our favorite dishes. We recognized a few of the staff from Asian Taste, and were warmly greeted. Our order consisted of Salt and Pepper Flounder Filets, Honey Walnut Shrimp and Chinese Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. The filets were crispy tender slices of flounder coated in a salt and fragrant pepper tossed with bits of onions and jalapeños. The Honey Walnut Shrimp is a sizeable mound of huge crispy prawns fried in a delicate coating, drizzled in a tangy sweet creamy sauce. The Eggplant was tossed with onions along with green and red peppers in a savory garlic brown gravy. All dishes ready were scrumptious and oh-so filling. The menu is quite extensive and we look forward to trying new dishes.

And that's a good thing because competition for tables is already stiff. Get a reservation (you have to call) or be ready to wait in line. The decor is excellent. Not fancy by any means, but FUN. It's like someone raided an Otaku gift shop. There are toys, t-shirts, and a zillion things to delight and catch your eye. Tables are separated by bamboo screens, so each is lovely and private-ish. Service is solid, and the staff have a lot to keep up with. Be patient. But let's talk about the food! I have eaten a lot of sushi in my life and I am not kidding when I say this is some of the best. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted like it had been out of the ocean for mere moments. We had pork-wasabi shumai and the hamachi jalapeno for appetizers and both were fantastic--the hamachi was probably my favorite thing across the board. We also shared a Sushi deluxe dinner, as well as a Musashi and a Tuna roll (I cannot remember what they called it but it was belly tuna and spicy tuna together and it was to die for). Everything was perfect; I have nothing negative at all to say. 10/10, no notes. So if you find yourself near Bensalem, get yourself there. You will NOT be disappointed.

I have…read morebeen to many hibachi restaurants and felt "been there done that" too many times but 3 BFF's picked it and I went with the flow. Besides I am a local and have never been to this one and was looking foward to it. Based on the Yelp reviews I wasn't expecting much and lowered my expectations. But I have to say...in spite of the negative reviews, I was surprisingly impressed! We were seated at the Hibachi Table which seats 10. I ordered a sushi roll platter and hot sake. Everyone else ordered the habachi. I was squeamish when the chef put tons of butter on the fried rice and mixed veggies. A bit too much for my liking and was actually glad I stuck with the sushi rolls only. The chef did a few entertaining tricks as expected which is always fun to see. Portions were huge. I could not believe how many scallops were put on the ladie's plate next to me. The grilled shrimp looked incredible. But the standout was the steak. I tasted my friend's steak and it was Impressively tender and excellent. Seasoned perfectly. It was a Wednesday night and the place was doing a decent amount of business...not all tables full and once the animated group in the middle hibachi table left the place, got a lot quieter. But I understand it gets quite busy on a weekend night and is very loud. I like that my sushi roll platter came with both the miso soup and the salad. Many places now-a-days make you choose one or the other. I like both. My miso soup needed to be sent back as I like "hot" soup...it was luke warm. Once it was heated I thought it was delicious. The hot sake was very smooth tasting. It was a good house sake. The restaurant is larger than what you see from the street. It is located in a strange spot. It is across the parking lot from McGerks. There are a few business in the same small strip including a golf place. I can see people forgetting about it. ( I for one forget it is there). I do have one negative but not deducting a star. The staff was "not" engaging nor friendly. They were effecient and did their jobs however zero personality! For a local place they need to step it up in my humble opinion. After all it is a hospitality business. I almost felt like a habachi factory...too mechanical which is the main reason to add personality. (Hopefully this will be helpful feedback for the restaurant.) I am on the fence with 4 stars but the 4 of us had such a fun night and everything else was right on. Btw...there is a large front area for dining without habachi. I would go back for the sushi and I do recommend the hibachi. It is fun and the food was way better than most.

The chef offered us four smallish tasting bites of fish and rice. A very nice start. We started with some Sashimi. Maguro, hamachi and salmon. It was quite good and fairly large pieces. The quality of the fish was very high. Next we got a few rolls - Mini sumo, eel lover and out of control. They were excellent and large rolls. Total $121. We tipped the chef generously. First, I didn't realize until I googled afterwards, they failed 14 FOOD INSPECTION VIOLATIONS in 2025, I wish I had found that out before going. They've raised the prices SO MUCH, in some cases 30-45%. It's easy to tell because they just used a marker to write over the old prices on the menu?! You can see where the ramens went up $4-9 dollars per bowl! And if you build your own it's worse, they're charging $1.50 for a tablespoon of green onions on your bowl!??? They've lost their minds. We also ordered the "crispy chicken" for the ramen, and I have to say I did not know a piece of chicken could be pounded this flat. If you held it up you'd be able to see through it. I added a photo, there can't be more than 1/3 of a chicken breast pounded so flat it's unrecognizable as meat. Also we were both absolutely CONVINCED they're watering down the soy sauce. I've had Asian all over the world, I've been traveling and eating in Japan since 2005...I have never seen any soy sauce this watery, thin, and transparent. Absolutely pathetic. So disappointing to see this place hike up the prices and fall off in quality. The nickel and dime-ing, cut corners, and failed inspections are unacceptable.
