Pleasant lady on phone/at the counter. Food was still hot when we got home. We were very happy with the mixed vegetable combo with shrimp, and dumplings. We enjoyed the chef's special Phoenix & Dragon and the nice big piece of bok choy it came with. Our Crab Rangoon didn't have much filling, and the dough alone wasn't appealing. On the bright side, it saved a lot of calories to eat just the centers. The shrimp rolls were good. Broccoli was a bit too well done in the mixed vegetables, and Dragon and Phoenix. Might order steamed broccoli separately next time. Appreciated the generous amount of small shrimp in the Shrimp Lo mein. Tons of good food overall - enough for lunch the next day. read more

Great chow indeed. The absolute BEST pork fried rice. Ordered the Szechuan Triple Delight (spelling who gives a sh*t) was really tasty. I'm giving these guys 5 stars for the food quality, not the restaurant seating. Food was hot when it got home, the meats were all fresh, not a bit of "old" taste in anything. Veggies were crispy. Wasn't loaded up with celery and carrots (no thank you). Service was fast, and the employees very very polite. I'm glad I finally found a decent Chinese place not too far away because Buckingham is a wasteland of good restaurants unless you like Wawa. Highest recommendation. Go there and be confident you'll get great food. Definitely going back to try something else. read more

Delicious food! Their lomein beats everybody's! Love the fried cheese won tons to dip in the brown sauce. We haven't had a meal we didn't like! We have had so many, these are just a few: beef and broccoli, chicken and broccoli, General Tso, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Sesame Chicken, you can substitute the rice for lomein for $1.00 more. Beef lomein had a ton of beef in it. We have ordered here for many years! The pork egg rolls with the hot yellow mustard and sweet packets are delicious. First time customer and last time customer. Food smelled weird, looked weird and tasted BAD. Sesame chicken has no sesame but did include dark overcooked broccoli. Won Tons in soup were all dark brown on the inside. Other items would be ok if they were just bland, but instead of bland they tasted bad. We ate small amount and decided it was not worth the unpleasantness of trying to eat it and threw it in the trash. Everything left an very unpleasant aftertaste. For a Chinese take out place, this place is really great! For about the last 12 years, we never go anywhere else for fast Chinese takeout! I tried to take the recommendations from the Northampton fb page but boy did they disappoint!! We ordered chicken and broccoli, beef with garlic, lo mein, generals, dumplings, crab Rangoon and some treasure item (I don't remember the exact name) cost: 92$ And the food was so bland, the chicken and broccoli tasted like water was added to it to make the sauce cover it. The generals tasted like it does when you heat it up the next day in the microwave. The beef are garlic was nothing but spice from the red peppers. I like spicy but I like flavorful spicy this was bland. Dumplings were ok, prob bc they were frozen but not the best have had and the crab Rangoon will never be good from anywhere once you have eaten them at duck sauce in newtown. I wouldn't recommend any of the items we purchased. Can't speak on anything else but I'll never find out. read more

I've lived in Richboro 12 years and China Chef has never disappointed us. As a neighborhood Chinese take-out restaurant, the dishes are always fresh and done very well. Best Shrimp Ho Fun I've had. 3.5 Stars if I could give that, so I will round up. New to the area. Tried an Egg Roll and Hot and Sour Soup. Egg Roll was standard issue American Chinese. Good flavor. Soup was Good to above average. Fried noodles that come with the soup are the fresher wide type that I like. Not the thin hard ones that seem to come out of a bag. Overall, good Chinese if I need a fix. A bit pricey for what it is, but not crazy. Lunch specials at $6 but does not come with an egg roll or soup. read more

China Chef in the Richboro Shopping Center is an average Chinese/American house that caters mostly to the take away crowd. There are a half dozen or so tables, but the atmosphere is rather dreary, and not conducive to a comfortable meal. The management is friendly and helpful. My recent experience had me opening my bag of goodies at home for a first look. My order of Fried Dumplings was not the crisp, browned dough pocket I envisioned, but rather a soggy, fried only on one side, unattractive package. I had to refry them to bring them back to life. I also remixed the dipping sauce to add more heat as the one that came with the dumplings was mostly vinegar with little taste of ginger or chili pepper. The Egg Foo Young was thick and loaded with veggies, pork and egg, but left too long in the wok. The surface was too dark brown, but the taste wasn't as bad as the look. The Brown Sauce was good, and there was more than needed to cover the 3 pancakes. Orange Chicken was plentiful; enough for at least 3 helpings. The breading was a bit soggy; again not the crunch I was looking for. The taste was about right, but the texture was off in the same way the dumplings were. Overall, this was an average meal with too many shortcomings to have China Chef join my short list of China joints recommended for a fast meal. The search continues. read more

I really like the setup for safe takeout. We enjoy combo meals and moo sho pork here. Hot and sour soup is excellent . Portions are plentiful and I usually get two meals out of a combo meal which is your choice of entree pork fried rice and an egg roll . Our favorites are Szechuan chicken or shrimp , General Chicken, chicken and broccoli, Moo Sho Pork, and Beef . Never had a bad meal since they opened and highly recommend for takeout. read more

I stopped here after a doctor appointment as I'm currently reviewing all Chinese places in the area for the best. This one was below average. I ordered general tso chicken combination with white rice and an egg roll and some crispy noodles. I asked for extra spicy and ordered it right there at the counter. I didn't wait long and it came to about $10. When I opened it at home it was presented nicely. Unfortunately the chicken was below par. Didn't seem like quality chicken and the breading seemed soggy not crisp. The rice was decent and the egg roll was average or slightly above average. The crispy noodles weren't great and only gave a couple per bag. The biggest disappointment was the chicken itself. While it was spicy, it wasn't crispy and tender. read more

I had lunch at China Chef today. Their food is cheap and good. I was taken back when my teenage son asked for a glass of water. The woman behind the counter informed us that they do not provide tap water and pointed to a display cooler of bottled water. I thought all restaurants in Bucks County, PA were required to provide tap water if asked? read more

I would STRONGLY reco this restaurant. The food is ALWAYS soooooo good!!! Generally we get take out (General Tso's combo & chicken always has just the right crunch). It comes w/ a large portion which is always piping hot, two egg rolls and fortune cookies. Two huge meals (which make 4 meals total) for $17 & that's with delivery! Very satisfied all around w/ quality, delivery (which is always twice as fast as a pizza delivery which is much closer) pricing and customer service. My man always says how 'nice those guys are there' each time we get take out. I finally had to share to help others know this is such a GO TO! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! called in for delivery and the first thing the guy said on the phone was "make sure you pick up phone because the driver cannot wait long". you do not start a conversation with your customer at that manner. we are paying you and ordering food. it wasn't a pleasant experience and its been happening for quite a while now. they have an attitude when they talk to you on the phone. mind you, we work at a medical facility.. I also asked to split the payment to two cards since we ordered with a couple of people, and he said that there was a minimum of $10 to pay with card. Our total was $30 and I told him to split it in half but refuses and acts like he just doesn't want to do it. STOP BEING LAZY and do your job.
