We understand the cost of everything has increased but are very disappointed in our orders from Asian Sakae yesterday. The 'large' portions were very small and the containers weren't even filled. I ordered orange chicken, asked for very, very spicy. It was mild at best, included about 10 moderate sized pieces of chicken and 3 pieces of broccoli. My husband ordered chicken fried rice with pineapple, again asked it be very spicy which it wasn't. Had about 5 pieces of pineapple and the fried rice was greasy. We wonder how many companies are using the 'scarcity of food supplies' to hike the prices. The first time I went I ate inside. The service was terrible. We brought our own wine which they took to open, and broke the bottle, did not take off any of our bill. The sushi was good, the service was terrible. The second time, I ordered online and got delivered. The delivery was fast, the food was excellent...I got Chinese this time. Wonderful service! I go here a couple of times a month but I wish I could go more! Sushi is amazing and the Thai food like the drunken noodles and panang curry is to die for! Favorite sushi rolls are the Maryland roll, Westminster roll, Black Dragon roll, and Sweet Mamba roll. Lo mein, crab rangoons, soups, and all their salads are great as well. I have become a regular at Asian Sakae because the sushi and Asian cuisine is just that good. The staff is amazing. They are always so nice and friendly when you walk in. The do everything they can to make your dining experience the best it can possibly be. The restaurant is always hoping. It is always busy and I take that as a good sign. My friends and I wanted Chinese food, but we needed a place that would deliver to McDaniel College. Based on Yelp reviews, we decided to order from Asian Sakae, and we were pretty pleased. The option to order online made it easy for the three of us to choose what we wanted without having to place an awkward phone call. The ordering software was easy to use and it showed an itemized list of what we were getting on the side of the screen. Conveniently, we were also able to get the food delivered to Rouzer Hall. We ordered mostly Chinese food, and it was pretty good. (Forbidden City in Westminster has better food, but they don't deliver.) We had no major complaints about the taste or quality of the food. The prices were also very reasonable, and we were happy that delivery to the college was free. (And if you're not dependent on delivery, if you use the online software, you can get 10% off if you pick up your order at the restaurant.) Overall, my friends and I were very pleased with the food, prices, online ordering, and deliver. Asian Sakae's menu is huge, so we'll definitely be ordering again! read more

Listen, just do not get delivery from this place ever. They do put a disclaimer on their webpage about slow delivery, I am well aware. However, the other night, I waited for nearly 2 hours before I had to call THEM to inquire where my order was, and was met with the answer that it hadn't been made yet. It is about 9:45pm at this point, and their solution to this is to ask if I am willing to wait another 45 minutes to get my food. After waiting 2. Freakin. Hours. WTF? If you cannot handle both in-store orders, call-ins and online-delivery, it's time to reevaluate and remove one. Can't deliver? Then don't, plain and simple. While I'm at it, avoid anything on the menu that is not sushi, thai or most of the apps. Their chinese and teryaki dishes are overpriced and disappointing, but everything else is still very tasty. We got an Alaska Roll and a Maryland Crab Roll. The rolls were just OK. Skimpy on the avocado on both. The Maryland Crab Roll had Old Bay or something similar in it. Poor food quality. Had to send back Teriyaki it was extremely salty. Upcharged for things that were less on the menu. Didn't have the ingredients for the sushi that was ordered and tried to serve it with alternative ingredients. I was pretty disappointed in my service here - my food took a full hour to be served. No one mentioned anything about why, until about 45 minutes in (after my friend had been served) when I asked what was happening with my order. They explained that they needed a special oven for mine and the oven wasn't working. The menu never indicated that my sushi would come out warm, and I wish I would have known earlier - I would have rather been told and given the opportunity to change my order. I ended up buning the roof of my mouth really badly when my food finally came, because the dish cooled unevenly. read more

Sushi that delivers in Westminster. What more do you want ? Sure it's not the greatest sushi but it's pretty darn good and i love that they offer more than just sushi. My only real gripe is the restaurant itself. It seems dated and rundown. So I say stick with carry out and you can't go wrong. Prices are reasonable but we usually spend around $70 for five special rolls which is a tad pricey. But hey as long as they deliver I'm gonna keep supporting Asian sakae ! read more

Really great sushi and awesome crispy beef! I only give it 4/5 stars because they person I always speak to when placing my order (sounds like a young man) is always super rude and condescending. One time I was trying to explain that I did not receive my receipt and he was talking to me all slow and exaggerated like "there....should....be....threeeee....receipts" and every other time I ask a question he answers it like a pretentious brat. Been eating here since they opened because I can get sushi while hubby gets Chinese. Recently picked up an order of sashimi and half of it went in the garbage. There are not a whole lot of sushi options in Westminster. But now that Asian Sakae is open, you need look no further. The sushi is top notch. We prefer to sit at the sushi bar. Every time you sit at the bar, you are treated to a FREE plate of sushi. We have been in and ordered a single roll, just to nibble on, and they still put up a plate of something different for us. Another nice perk is that they don't have an alcohol license, but you are allowed to bring your own. There is a liquor store right next door, also we will grab a 6 pack of Tsingtao or a bottle of wine, and have a nice fairly inexpensive dinner, because we aren't paying restaurant prices for wine. The employees and owners are very friendly. We can not recommend this place enough. read more

Just got back from our first visit, after excellent reviews from several friends. Great place. We will definitely be going back! Friends have said - and we agree - this place is a hidden gem. One woman - a foodie who lives in DC - said this place is better than even some of the high-end sushi places in DC. After tonight, I believe it! Positives: -Great, truly excellent sushi at very reasonable prices. -Friendly sushi chef offered us samples of a new roll he's working on (it was delicious but spicy!!) -Thai curry was also great, just the right level of spicy, and came out hot. -Appetizers were good - crunchy crab things (can't remember the name) especially. -Huge menu with lots of choices, plenty of vegetarian options (eg, sushi made with sweet potato tempura) and options for the non-sushi eater. -Desserts were awesome - mango mochi with ice cream in the center, fried donuts with sugar, fried banana with sesame and honey. -They thoughtfully brought extra portions of dishes we were splitting (enough to make the numbers work out), generally made us feel very welcome. -Fairly quiet; clean, modern interior with some nice Japanese elements. Other notes: -For now, they don't have a liquor license. They allow BYOB though. -A bit of delay with some sushi dishes coming out, so not all the food came at once -- but this worked out well because we all sampled each other's dishes. They are all fresh-fresh-fresh. -The restaurant is in a strip mall (between Giant and Staples/Party City) and the interior doesn't completely obscure that. (That is, it doesn't feel like a super-upscale place.) But the decor is nice, very clean and inviting, and it has a very friendly atmosphere. Everything we had was delicious and we ended up getting second helpings of some things. Very, very kind people, and plenty of options of vegetarians, slightly fewer options for vegans (which I am, but in a pinch when I just don't have time to get dinner, I'm occasionally compromising). They don't use MSG! And delivery is prompt to boot. My favorites are as follows: Vegetable udon (but it uses chicken broth, so not quite vegan), any veg sushi with brown rice, esp. avocado or cucumber (which are technically fruits. And yes they'll make anything with brown rice!), inari with brown rice, and mochi, which is rice outer but milk ice cream inner. I've only had delivery, so I couldn't speak to dining in, but this place is definitely on my repeat list! read more

This is the best sushi place in Westminster! Although, don't judge a book by it's cover. It's located in a shopping center and the inside is a dive, but the sushi is amazing!! I'm not even slightly exaggerating, my whole meal didn't even contain chicken, it was all onion and i don't even eat onion, i usually just pick it out because at other Chinese places there's so much chicken in meals i don't mind picking out a few pieces of onion. I was actually in shock when i saw my meal. Idk if i got unlucky or they just save on chicken and give you a whole bunch of onion and vegetables to fill up the plate but i will never come here again. read more
