Crepe cake dessert with gross hershey syrup
    ANGELA S.

Hoŕrible! Bad service. Annoying phone ringing & beeping like an alarm clock the whole time. Annoying music: ONE stupid song on a repeat loop the whole time. Slow service, acted like we inconvenienced her with every request. Out of some food items, but did not tell us until too late. Lettuce wraps disintegrated in our hands. Walnut shrimp dry, hardly any sauce, shrimp mushy on inside. No strawberry sauce on crepe dessert, as advertised- it was hershey squeeze bottle sauce-gross! Crepes tasted like Styrofoam. Prices WAY too high for this shitty experience. I Will never go back. If you order take out, expect a loooong wait, cuz they let the phone ring on forever. Then, rolly polly receipt needed 4 hands to wrangle it, & NOT given fortune cookies.

    Cold soup

Food was cold. Even the soup and noodles. When we told server she was rude. Took orange chicken back put in microwave so came out soggy

    Cream cheese wontons were delicious.

This was my second time trying this place (with many years in between). The interior was nice with a great view of the wasatch mountains, but it was quite loud inside. The waiter was very attentive and brought a small complimentary salad quickly. The menu didn't have many vegetarian options and I don't do seafood. The fried rice was dry and flavorless and it took a while to get our food, table of 2.

I've been here a couple times. On my most recent visit, we were in a hurry to see a movie at a nearby theater. We asked the staff if they could accommodate, and they did--we were out within about 35 minutes. Amazing service! Sadly, the food here tends to be disappointing. It looks so good and is presented so well, but my dishes are always a bit bland (except for the egg drop soup, which is flavorful). The fried rice particularly lacks flavor. It would be one thing if these were $12, $15 meals, but at the prices they charge, I expect an amazing meal. The ambience here used to be really neat, but they built an awkward industrial sort of wall in the middle, cutting off the glass dining area on the upper floor and creating a crowded space.

Orange chicken gluten free, dinner platter and gluten free beef mandain and broccoli

We had a large party so we made a reservation for a week night in advance. We arrived on time and our table was ready with waters on it already. We looked over the menu as it was our first time eating here--- several of us are gluten free due to severe allergy and when we had questions about the items our server was really not helpful or just couldn't understand what we were asking.... We also had a hard time understanding her. My date wanted the meal that came with soup, fried shrimp and so on but he never got the rest of the meal (just the main dish) when we asked she only brought the soup but not the shrimp- we asked several times but it never arrived and we finally just said screw it. We got the orange chicken dish, the large dinner platter and beef mandain with broccoli with white rice. They just brought out a large sauce pan filled with rice to share. There wasn't any gluten free soy sauce. Overall we probably won't eat here again, we heard it was incredible but I don't think I'd go that far especially for the price and a server who struggled to get our order and even after we asked again it wasn't correct. Nice presentation (see pics) Also there were just a few parking spots that were full and this was a week night at 7:30pm

    House Lo Mein

Me and my bf came to Asian star at around 12 in the morning after I got home from my flight. This was the best Asian food I have ever had the lo mein noodles. It's a house special and was delicious. It came with your choice of protein, fried rice, eggroll and a soup for only $23. In total with drinks, we paid $40 for a full course meal that was extremely delicious. They are open until three in the morning and at first we didn't believe it, but we called to make sure the staff was amazing, they gave us water before they asked for our drinks and they helped explain what every item on the menu was answered all of our questions. The interior is super beautiful and elegant. Such a great restaurant.

We were looking for somewhere close to eat as we ended up in an impromptu rain shower while on an afternoon walk! Asian Star was just around the corner when it started to sprinkle so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! To be honest, I forgot that going out to eat on Mother's Day weekend is crazy! We had great timing as we got there just before several other groups! The wait wasn't long and everyone was friendly and had great humor! I ordered the chicken lo mein and it was exactly what I wanted! I have found that not all restaurants in Utah make lo mein the way I am used to. This was perfect! Nice and thick oily delicious noodles with the chicken cut thin so I had several pieces in each bite. My kiddo ordered Tangerine chicken with fried rice. The chicken was crispy and perfectly sauced! One of the better orange chicken dishes we have had locally! Not over spiced or too tangy. I didn't try the fried rice, but my kid had no complaints. This place hit the spot! And the staff was awesome! I am glad we got there when we did because it was packed when we left! If I had a criticism, the prices were a little steep.

Quintessential family friendly Chinese American restaurant reminiscent of the late 1990s. Not many small towns still have restaurants like this one, and on a recent Friday the place was packed. Portions are large, presentation is quite good, and the lo mein dish was perfect as far as what I look for in lo mein. The only real knock on this place is that the menu has an overwhelming amount of fried/breaded items which means that, at the end of the day, there isn't *that much* variety. Apparently Asian Star used to serve sushi; I realize it's a non-trivial ask but having that option would take the restaurant from a 4 star local spot to a 5 star local spot.

For starters, we ordered the Wor Wonton Soup. The broth was rich and hearty. The shrimps were large and plentiful. All the vegetables blended in with the flavors. I just wish the beef was a little more tender. A little marinade in baking soda would fix this. We ordered some chicken lettuce wraps. This has minced chicken, celery, bamboo shoots, and carrots. These are good by themselves but are best with hoisin sauce. I just wish the lettuce leaves were bigger. The Honey Walnut Shrimp was also good. The sauce had a nice blend of mayo, honey and lemon. It had a little too much breading for me but still tasted good. For $16.99, I wished there was a bit more shrimp. One thing I really appreciate - they GLAZE the walnuts! This is one of the few places that I actually like the sauce and they glaze the walnuts! The Crispy Beef is definitely my favorite. In fact, I think this is better than the one I get from Red Maple. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of heat. Again, I really wish they would marinate the beef in baking soda to soften it up. The last dish we ordered was the Garlic Chicken. The server forgot to put the order in for this dish and there was a rush to get it out to us. They forgot to put garlic in this dish so wee sent it back. It was perfect when it came back. This place is fast becoming our go-to-place for Chinese Food. It's was a nice surprise and I'll can't wait to try the other dishes!

Unfortunately, they are lunch special only…read moreruns Monday through Friday, so I had to get a regular sesame chicken and then because I wanted the fried rice instead of the steamed rice I had to pay an extra six dollars for that. So it would've hopefully been a $10 meal ended up being a $20 meal. Unfortunately, their sesame chicken is unlike any other place's sesame chicken I've had. Instead of a chicken that could perhaps be interchanged with orange chicken or General Tsaos, what you get is the your basic deep fried chicken pieces and then on the side is maybe a dipping sauce? Maybe you're supposed to point over? I can imagine their "honey sesame chicken" is a great differentiator menu piece, but it wasn't at all what I was looking for. And the fried rice was just OK - pretty run of the mill, and definitely not worth having to spend an additional $6 to get it. Word to the wise, if you want a typical, deep fried and sticky sesame chicken, order the orange chicken and just imagine the sesame seeds on it. All that said - the inside was very welcoming, and the service was very prompt.

They wrap them tightly in plastic wrap so nothing leaks. The food could get to us 20-30 minutes after it was packaged and it is still piping hot. This is good standard Americanized Chinese food. We've ordered everything from black bean chicken to Mongolian Beef to Moo Goo Gai Pan to Chow Mein to Orange Chicken, and it all beats your standard Panda quality by a bit.

There were two pricing tiers. Premium was 36.99 and standard was 30.99. Premium offered cuts of wagyu, shrimp paste, and leg of lamb for every 2 persons in your party. We came on a Saturday around 2:30pm and were able to still get the lunch combo deal (11-3). My bf ordered their sweet and sour chicken lunch combo and literally said it was the best sweet and sour chicken he's ever had (!!). It also only cost $11.90, which - in this economy?? - feels unheard of! I got the fried pork in soy sauce which more resembles braised pork belly with a sweet ginger soy sauce. Super super good, and the two other friends that I've brought here both liked my dish better than theirs ;) My one complaint is that it's just meat. I wish it came with some bok choy or some other veggies to help balance it out! You may also need to request a side of rice since it doesn't come with. We came again a week later because my bf was craving their sweet and sour chicken again (lol) and weirdly the Mr. Feng's menu wasn't provided, just the Noodle and Dumpling one, so we couldn't get the lunch special. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or if they're getting rid of Mr. Feng's completely and replacing it with Noodle and Dumpling? :( My bf got the sweet and sour entree and said it was still good, but the chicken wasn't as crispy. I opted for the general tso's chicken which was really yummy but also really spicy. Idk if they accidentally chopped up some spicy peppers instead of bell peppers, but I was definitely struggling, and I can handle heat! As for service, you may be waiting a while (especially at the front desk since their bell doesn't work lol). It feels like an authentic Chinese restaurant, but that being said their service is possibly more attentive than expected. The waiter we had both times was such a sweet man and was trying his best despite it being busy. My bf and I both fell in love with him, and we secretly joke that he's my bf's new best friend haha. Ambiance is honestly fairly dingy lol but you should go for their good quality food rather than their atmosphere. You'll find your utensils and napkins at the table. Next time I plan to try their egg and tomato or their fried intestines, which I saw on their noodle and dumpling menu!

The sweet and lightly mustard-tangy sauce that comes with them, combined with some sweet chili sauce, is absolute heaven.
