I don't think they have the corn last time I was there. It is a definite you have to try it. My default here has always been the K-pop fries, but I've ventured out and tried the rice dish. It was great. I would definitely order it again when I'm doing takeout. They traveled really well which is something I always look for in Carrie out items. The guy at the counter was nice. I haven't been here in a while. When I walked in it looked the same. I had takeout but it would have been fine eating there. You can always find a spot to sit. Okay...I'll admit it's been a while since the last time I ate at Bumblebees, but hear me out: I haven't been able to get it out of my mind the last few months. What you get at Bumblebees is, in my opinion, a rare and odd fusion of foods that loosely fall into the realm of Bulgogi and Primanti Brothers (think fries plus bulgogi). The interior is appropriately dive-y. The service isn't surprising or especially fast (I recall it being respectable), but...that unique combination is only akin to having chili Mac (chili over spaghetti) from Hard times in DC. So...it's in that vein of highly flavored meat over a base starch that is cooked in such a way as to carry the flavor and not hamper it...every time I drive by, I wish my family liked spicy things more - it's totally worth it!! read more

First impression, this location is located in a plaza that is difficult to enter if on State Street. The building is rundown and does need a renovation as stated in previous reviews. However, the food was adequate and tasteful. We tried the beef bulgogi k-pop fries, beef bulgogi bowl, and beef bulgogi noodle bowl. For fast Korean food, the food sufficed the taste buds. You order through an iPad. Customer service is at a bare minimum, but it didn't bother us. The gentleman (front counter, cook, and server all in one) doesn't have much to say, but I went for the food more than the customer service of this place. If you want a decent Korean flavored meal and don't care about the rest, then this is your spot. read more

I need to preface this by saying that this is the best food I had in the area, without question. The portions were big for the price and absolutely packed with flavor. It's delicious and just the perfect spice level to make the sweet sauce more dynamic. The chicken tenders were a little dry but that complimented the amazing sauce. There's no real interaction with the single employee-- the cook-- but that was part of the charm just like the dated look of the restaurant. After hearing great things about Bumblebees, I was excited to finally try it out. I placed an online order for K-Pop fries and it was a super easy process. Upon arrival they were making my fries and I didn't have to wait long at all. I had the spicy pork on my k-pop fries and they were very good! Definitely a nice combination of flavors. They have other menu options that sounded pretty solid but I would probably return for the fries themselves. Service was friendly and the inside of the restaurant was clean and organized. Yummy yummy yummy! This place is what comforting Korean food really is. The menu is small and decadent, and everything is absolutely delicious. It's not meant to be a fancy restaurant. In town for meetings with a hankering for something off the beaten path a quick consultation with Yelp gave me the incentive to spin on over to Midvale to experience Bumblebees. I'm so glad that I did. My colleague and I shared an order of their K-Prop Fries. Oh my! To call them 'loaded' is almost an understatement. Get them with beef and you will not be sorry (or leave hungry). For me, I had to dive in for the K-Noodles. Delicious, plenty of variety over those wonderful noodles. You will be impressed. My colleague opted for the Korean Tacos, one chicken, one pork. He reported good, but not the best. Pretty standard fare as I would've encouraged him to be more adventurous. You know, when in Rome and all.... Note, the beverage selection is not expansive; basically soft drinks and water. For this good food a nice bottle of Hite would have made it the perfect meal. My father and I decided to take a fun trip to Salt Lake City for skiing. After a long day of skiing some great food is just what we needed. This was the closest place to our airbnb in Midvale. We decided to try it out and man was it great. The food is tasty and looks appealing. I ordered their signature "K-Pop Fries" (Korean style loaded fries. Who knew that K Pop was more than just Korean pop music? I learned recently, that it is more. So much more. My son and I wandered in to Bumblebee's BBQ & Grill, not fully knowing what to expect, but having growling bellies. After a short review of the menu, we saw a few items that looked good, and ordered the chicken strips and a beef bulgogi sandwich. The nice young man at the register made us feel so welcome. He was genuinely friendly and happy that we were there. He's the kind of guy that I would have loved to invite to join us for a meal and a chat. Really, he was that friendly. But I refrained-you know, COVID and the fact that he was, well, working at the moment. Anyway, we sat in the dining area and waited for our food, which was ready in just a few minutes. The ambience is more like a diner than a Korean BBQ joint-super casual, cozy and a bit small. I like it. Our food was very flavorful. My son, who is a picky eater that prefers more traditional food, devoured his chicken. He said it was different than he expected (I guarantee he had breaded chicken strips in mind), but he would have ordered even more. My sandwich was also good, although it had some ingredients that I would probably prefer to leave off. I admit, I'm probably just as picky as the kid. The menu does not go into much detail about what is on the food, but I'm certain the Nice Guy would tell me if I asked. I'll do that next time. Overall, I can see why this place has such a following. Since my dad dubbed me the "French Fry kid" as a child, I still claim some street cred when it comes to french fries. So let me take you in a KPop journey. You'll get a basket full so it's a meal. Yet, you may still crave more after you've devoured them all. The fries are thicker but not as thick as steak fries. They have some skin on which gives them a nice crunch, but they don't stay crunchy with all the toppings. BUT I promise they are not grossly soggy either. They are topped with the Koren house sauce, bulgogi beef (or three other options) and green onions. They are so addictive. I can't even put words to all of the flavors and textures, you just have to try them! Super fast service. Employees were nice. It was empty on a Saturday at 11:30. I'm disappointed because I got my beloved k-pop fries and they didn't have green onion. I went back in and asked for some and they said they didn't have any. The onions are essential for cutting the richness of the meat and Mayo and fries. Definitely not as good. A lot has happened since my original review of Bumblebee's. For one, they've blown up and become very popular. The K-Pop fries alone have a cult following, and I have--on more than one occasion--been here with someone who has never tried the place and insisted they order them so that I could snag a few for myself. Since the original review, they've opened a food truck, and then a second location, this one in West Valley. It's a growing enterprise, based on great word of mouth and good food. Tonight, as I considered where I might go to support a local business during this crazy COVID-19 moment in history, I thought of them. I have long admired the beautiful family behind Bumblebee's and appreciate their sincerity and earnest desire to make the best food for the best price. Happily, they're doing takeout and delivery right now. Takeout was a breeze. You can order on Yelp via GrubHub, or just call in. I did the latter, and paid over the phone. Then when I arrived, it was a simple job to open the door, grab my food, and get home. All while staying very safely distance from anyone. And the burger I got? Well, you already know. The Mr. Kim is overflowing with fresh kimchi, cheese, a fried egg, that soft bun, lettuce and tomatoes. I forgot to say "no onion" but that's on me. I also ate the Mrs. Pa burger for the first time and it was also a real treat, and less messy. Takeout victory! It was good to see them still open during the coronavirus quarantine, and you can add their takeout (or delivery) to your list of good ideas. I was hoping for better. We had the fries with Bulgogi Beef, Noodles with Bulgogi Chicken, and Rice with Pork. The rice was our favorite dish. A bit disappointed with the fries, they weee on the soggy side. It would be great if they switched to a Krinkle-cut fry instead of the homestyle fries they are currently using. The Bulgogi beef tasted nothing like KBBQ, it was mostly fat chunks and tasted unseasoned. Fries were ultra soggy, and when asked for spicy it was nonexistent. If you are looking for authentic tasting KBBQ Bulgogi stay far away from this place because it tastes nothing like it whatsoever. Very disappointed, considering the high price. Got the bibimbop with spicy chicken and bulgogi for my first visit and was very pleasantly surprised at the true Korean flavors and loved that things weren't too sweet as some can be. Such a good fast but staying with traditional Korean flavors spot. I know they've got quite the following on their fries too so maybe next time I'll be adding that to my order. Prices are very reasonable too for their dishes too. I think take out is the way to go, but will definitely be swinging by for a cookingless dinner! read more

HOLY K-Krazy! OK, we all know that korean food is amazing, and korean-american fusion CAN be amazing, although some dishes can frighten as well. This place lands mostly on the amazing scale. I put this on my bucket list early this year, and finally got around to it, and am very glad i did. There were a whole bunch of menu items i wanted to try, which doesn't happen very often. Here is a run down on what i got THIS time, although a return trip is definitely in the works. KPOP fries: 5 stars out of 5. I Got mine with bulgogi (of course), and if you would have told me a couple of years ago, i would like something better than carne asada fries, i would have called the authorities in to lock you up as a dangerous madman. YES, they are that good with all the sauces and stuff that you need a fork to eat and a bulldozer to shovel towards your fork. Portions are very nice for the price. I can see why they put this place on the map. Kimchi rice balls: 5 stars out of 5. I am a sucker for deep fried kimchi balls and these are really really good. the sauce on top makes these bajillion calorie treats move into exponential factor counting, but they TASTE so good! Yangstar wings: 5 stars out of 5, but i wish i could give it higher. Spinal tap dial goes to 11 why not my five scale going to a 6? the complete surprise and last minute add to the order becomes the star of the show. crispy, sticky and freaking huge cut wings had me licking the paper in the container (in the privacy of my own vehicle thank you), writing this review makes me want some! Kastu chicken sandwich: 3 out of 5. nothing to write home about here, although the cutlet was crispy and tasty, the delivery on the soggy bun and toppings brought it down. having consumed enough calories to power a rocket to the moon, i came away grateful for mom and pop shops with creative cooking, nice manners, and a homey feel. they even have an a-town menu for your boring vanilla friend, when you are jonesing for some fusion, and they are trying to block your vibe.
