One of the best massages I have ever had! And I get a lot of massages. Mary was amazing!Pressure was deep the entire 90 minutes. Where many massage therapists lose their energy 2/3 of the way in, not Mary. She is a powerhouse. Very knowledgeable and she listened to my body. I went in with a very sore and stiff body from moving house the day before. I left feeling more relaxed and able to walk without limping. I felt even better the next day. We went for a couple's massage based on the reviews I saw when I did a Google search... 47 reviews, all 5 star! Mary promptly greeted me. She tried to convince me to do separate massages in separate rooms because those beds are supposedly more comfortable as they are heated. But I explicitly had requested in my online booking that I had read that in a review that someone went in for a couple's massage but they put them in separate rooms. I wanted to make sure we were allowed to be together for a "couples massage"! Unfortunately, one of us did not have a good experience. Tiffany massaged me and although it really hurt sometimes , I could have told her to soften it up but I chose to let her go that deep. I'm not quite sure what type of massages we got. My boyfriend on the other hand, was gravely disappointed throughout the whole experience... So much that we ended up cutting our hour and a half to one hour, but truly he was ready to leave within the first 20 minutes. He tried to stick it out but just was done after an hr. He said it felt like she was just rubbing his skin, not massaging deep. He also said that she went so fast, and had to ask twice to slow it down so it would be more relaxing. He felt like it didn't allow him to enjoy it and relax on top of not feeling any deep massage. For him we specifically wanted the deep tissue massage when they asked who would like that at the very beginning. There is a bit of a language barrier too which made it hard to understand some of what was being said. But, they were both nice and she apologized for not being able to meet his standards. We have had several massages previously... never has he been dissatisfied with any others. His favorite place (so far) is Relax and Wellness Massage on SE 123rd in Vancouver. read more

I called at 11:30 and was able to get an appointment for 1:00 the same day. Which was very great. I was promptly greeted by Mary and taken back to the massage room. I went there three weeks ago based on the yelp reviews that were very positive. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I thought I was going to get a deep tissue massage. I truly don't know what the heck it was overall. I thought they were supposed to be certified massage therapists, but I find it very hard to believe this lady was. A deep tissue massage doesn't involve walking on your back. Not only did I leave in worse shape than when I came in, I ended up with vertigo and a pounding headache later that night. Also, like another person posted, I've never had a $5 surcharge for using my credit card. Most places charge a buck or two. Needless to say I won't be returning. read more

I found this place with a search on Yelp... of course. I chose it because they were very close to my office, and had an immediate opening. The massage itself was great and I was greeted quickly and taken to the room. The hot towel wipedown after finishing the backside of your body was a plus, too. They want you to prepay when you arrive which is a bit odd, but I just assumed being a small shop in a small complex maybe they have had trouble with people in the past. The room not being carpeted did not bother me at all, and the music was gentle and relaxing. They also have a punch card, 10 visits and the 11th is free. I only took a star away because when I was finished getting dressed and came out of the room the girl asked me for money again, and there was a huge language issue at that time. I explained that I had paid beforehand, and finally someone else came out and spoke to us both and told me to go ahead and they would see me next time. I offered to use the translator I have on my phone so I could understand what it was she wanted, but she said no, it was fine. All in all, I will try them again. read more

As a portlander, it seems massage is a big issue - yet you can't get just a simple relaxing massage without paying twice what it is worth. I think all Massage in Oregon requires a license or something, maybe that jacks the prices up and makes everyone Uppity about it. I found that if I drive over to Vancouver, I can get a nice, quiet, warm massage at Asian Wellness without all the extra expense! I was very happy - it was 1/2 the cost and exactly what I wanted/expected. I took one star because I like carpeted rooms, it makes the room feel warmer, but the rest of the experience was just what I wanted! read more

I have had years of massage, from Chinese massage to sports massage and Mary at Asian Wellness Spa was is my new favorite. She really paid attention to the spots in my body that needed the most relief. I had hip surgery this last year and my glutes and hamstrings are always so tight that it gives me major low back pain. She relieved it by using technique in my sacrum and back of my hips. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be going back. The price is very affordable as well. read more

Went in for a one hour massage $60. No one there knew English well so there was no communication. So after the massage they would not let me leave. They kept pointing at my wallet saying tip. So I offered the only cash I had which was $10 so total of $70 but they said"not good enough" and told me to go get more cash.... I am never going back and wouldn't recommend. read more
