I was having a lot of back and hip pain recently (I'm 57 and have arthritis). I recently moved from Los Angeles where I got Thai/deep tissue combo massage every other week so I was looking for the same here. I found Castle Spa and was not disappointed! My appointment was with Jaimie and I got a Thai massage for my first appointment, it was amazing! I could tell she had a lot of experience and had a natural talent. I will definitely be back but my only problem was the price. I'm used to paying $50 for an hour and $75 for 90 minutes. Very unprofessional, my sister got me a Groupon for Mother's Day so I called to book a massage. The first time they canceled on me because one of their masseuse was sick. The second time I called she said she would call me back and didn't so I had to call again to schedule then I scheduled a massage and when I got there, the lady was arguing with me saying that I had a no-show last time so she charged me $25 for no reason when they rescheduled on me due to no therapist having availability because they were sick when I got there at 11:30. That was my appointment time. She sat there and argue with me for 20 minutes before I even went back to the room and told me that she had somebody there at 12:30. I'm just literally standing there telling her whatever I'll pay the $25 and I wanted to get back in there then she called her boss and was saying that I had a attitude which wouldn't you? 20 minutes of my massage is being wasted arguing with you and now you're telling me you have to charge me a no-show fee because I never called back last time when they never called me anyway it was a terrible first experience the other reviews with them saying the lady didn't ask me what my problem areas were is true she didn't talk to me or ask me where or what I wanted. She did crawl on top of the table, which was really weird and Like knee walked my back. I just didn't like the whole experience. I got there arguing with them from the beginning and my massage was cut short by 20 minutes. Terrible experience. Will never go back. read more

there was very little communication with the therapist. She didn't ask if I had any problem areas or pain, and then she began to pull and twist my joints in ways that they didn't go. I said, ouch and asked her to go easier, and I got very little response other than a chuckle She did a good job on my neck, but she definitely left me very sore and with residual low back pain from over figure is pulling and stretching Unless you're prepared for that, don't go for a Thai massage. read more

Don't think it's normal that the lady crawls up on the table and gets on top of your back? Also no questions before the massage to find out any problem areas and the masseuse did not speak English to tell her anything. Might want to warn people of the "style" of massage you're getting. read more

I went here with a Groupon for a couple's massage. My partner had never had a non-licensed massage or Thai massage, I've had both non-licensed massage and traditional Thai massage (in Thailand, I'm half-Thai sooo...). Very easy to find parking. The interior of the place is very nice. Relaxing music is a little loud, but the lighting and decor are very relaxing. We filled out our forms, mine very detailed because I knew what I was getting into, and her almost blank - which may account for her experience. We had two different masseuses, I'd say mine was more competent. She could feel the side that was tenser and worked that side accordingly, my partner said her masseuse just did a general rub, no special time spent on "knots" or problem areas. The aromatherapy was very light, which we appreciated. Some aromatherapy makes you leave smelling very strong, not this place! We were both nicely moisturized, but not strongly scented. Oh man, the hot stones though. My masseuse was, again, knowledgable and rubbed the stones on her hands before applying her hands to me (to cool the stones). When the stones were still hot, but not uncomfortable, my masseuse massaged the stones as is typical. HOWEVER, my partner said her masseuse just placed the hot stone directly onto her skin which elicited a yelp of pain. When the masseuse tried placing a second stone she had to tell her to stop, they were too hot. As I speak some Thai, I could hear my masseuse telling the other that the stones were too hot and to cool them some more. I was torn between a 2 and a 4-star. My masseuse gets a 4, however my partner got the 2-star treatment. I have to go with 3-stars due to the inconsistency between the staff. read more

Just left after a 90 minutes massage. I asked for a deep tissue and boy did it get one. Pam did an amazing job! I have a VERY tight upper back area. She made sure to work it hard in a way that knew she was making it better. She literally put her whole body into it. My daughter and I have both been suffering from stress and needed a good massage and that is exactly what we got. It was my daughter's first massage and she was a little nervous but got over it quickly when she laid down on the heated massage table. First visit this am,Wow. Place is very clean and well appointed. I went for a foot massage and I got that and more. She massaged my shoulders while my feet were soaking in the warm water with rose petals in it. The lounge chair was very comfortable and she gave me a very soft blanket to put over me while she massaged my feet and legs. I have had a few massages and I can tell she really knows what she is doing. Hit all the bad spots that was causing cramps and then used hot rocks as well. I made another appointment as I left. Amy is a miracle worker. I have a bulging disc in my lower back. Couldn't bend, sit, stand or roll over in bed without massive pain. I could barely sit in a car & needed help to get in. I certainly didn't think I should try driving. I had gone to the chiropractor 3 times in a week. Only had a little relief. Decided to try a 30 minute massage. I called all my normal places and no one had anything available. So I called Castle Spa & Massage. OH MY GOSH, what a RELIEF! Amy is a miracle worker. She was able to get me bending, sitting, standing, just about EVERYTHING by the time I left. Feel very little pain for the rest of the day. Next afternoon I was in pain again. I went to Amy again for another 30 minute massage. Same thing. So much relief. Today I woke with some pain left in my tailbone area. Went to Amy for an hour massage. Decided to go totally nude (I'm not one to do this). I just let myself relax in Amy's care, and she was incredible. Pressed a little too hard in a couple areas for my liking, but I said nothing because her touch was so therapeutic. I walk out feeling so much better. I can't wait to see my chiropractor today. This is a very difficult review to write as this was my first massage I've ever gotten so I have nothing to compare to. My husband surprised me with a couples hour massage that he had purchased off of groupon. I was extremely nervous and didn't know what to expect. Upon arriving we were greeted right away and given forms to fill out to show what type of massage we were looking for (pressure, deep tissue/relaxing etc.) After we completed those we were brought back to our room. It was pretty cold considering you aren't wearing any clothes my husband said the same thing. They first started off with no oil really pulling and applying pressure to loosen things up. Then we received oil and hot rocks. They were pretty hot but she made sure to cool them down a bit before applying them to my skin. As she went over some areas the medium pressure was perfect but some areas did hurt quite a bit, I wanted to have to full experience so I didn't say anything as i knew it was probably good to loosen myself up. She check in with me very frequently to make sure I was comfortable. It was nice at the end they also rubbed you down with a warm towel to remove all the excess oil. Overall the experience was good, like I said before I have never received a massage before so I don't have much to compare to but my husband who has received many massages usually at massage envy enjoyed his, he did mention it was a very different technique than his previous ones and said for sure a thai massage. He also mentioned that the previous places he had been to were more "fancy" which is also how I had pictured it. Today I am, VERY sore which is probably my own fault for asking for medium pressure and never having had a massage before. I don't know that I would come back as I want to experience a different kind next time but the prices did seem very reasonable and the staff were very nice and friendly. read more
