I'm writing this as a serious warning for U.S. customers purchasing tickets through Asiana Airlines' website. I attempted to buy a ticket from the U.S. site, but the payment page only offered China-based payment options like Alipay/WeChat Pay instead of standard U.S. cards. I completed the payment through Alipay, and the money was immediately deducted from my account. However, the Asiana website then showed "payment failed," no ticket was issued, and there was no confirmation email. This situation is extremely concerning. The airline took my money but did not deliver the ticket, leaving me to chase customer service for resolution. International travelers should not have to deal with missing payment methods, failed transactions after funds are already collected, and unclear refund processes. If you're booking from the U.S., be very cautious. Make sure you have confirmation before assuming your purchase went through. My experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and financially uncomfortable while waiting for the refund to be processed. read more

This is the worst airlines ever. I was supposed to board a flight from the Bay Area to Korea and then to Vietnam for a wedding today. I had my grandmother with me when I checked in for the flight I requested for a wheelchair. They said it was a 30 minute to an hour wait. I asked for assistance because I cannot hold all of my luggage and help my grandmother walk at the same time. They ended up refusing and said I had to take care of it myself. They made me wait on the side of the desk for a wheelchair and I was about to miss my flight so I found one randomly. I tried to walk my grandmother alone we get through security. There was an escalator going to our gate. My grandmother ends up falling on the escalator and hitting her head. we end up missing her our flight because she had to go to the hospital. I tried reaching out to Customer Service and they were not helpful. I will reach out again because they told me I would was able to rebook a flight with the same time as my old flight. However, when I tried to rebook it, all the seats were taken even when the airlines didn't tell me that it was full. I'm very upset at the way that they treat people with disabilities. Worst service and blatant disregard of responsibility by any airline of Business Class customers. As the ASIANA website complaint and customer support portal is not operational. When my wife and I were checking in to board our Business class flight from SEA to SIN on Feb 6th 2025, we asked if there is an issue with making our connection to SIN from the short layover in Seoul. The response from both the ticket agent and her apparent supervisor was "it's OK. no problem". Furthermore, while on board bringing up our concern with the apparent lead flight attendant in Business class who was confirming our connecting flight, the response was once again an assured positive "should not be a problem". Upon arrival at Seoul Incheon International Airport, not only did we land 10 minutes before the departure of our connecting flight, but there was a clearly pre-setup table at the gate with our "new" tickets to a next day flight, clearly indicating that this plan was predetermined and willfully and intentionally concealed from us. After spending a cold long night in Seoul and losing an entire day at our destination causing personal economic and schedule disruptions, we were placed on a Korean Airline flight which was coincidentally delayed due to "a late connecting flight" as announced by the flight crew. Our membership account now, 6 weeks later, shows 0 miles flown indicating an apparent attempt at erasing this incident. I used Asiana Airlines for my trip to South Korea, I love their service. I didn't know about their change in flight time during summer and winter, so I missed my flight. Btw, Noi Bai International Airport staff were rude and not helpful at all. But Asiana Airlines was able to reschedule my flight without having to pay extra for the new flight. Overall I like it and will use their airline again in the future. read more

BEWARE - no health requirements to fly Dear Asiana Airlines, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent flight experience and to seek appropriate remediation. My travel involved seats 12J and 12K, which unfortunately were located directly in front of passengers in 13J and 13K who were visibly and severely ill, including a child who was incessantly coughing and playing with the seat table. I want to be clear, this is not on the child but the parent and your associates who failed to enforce, what I believe, are basic health guidelines. Despite the expectation that individuals in such poor health would not be allowed to fly, it was evident that this was not the case. The constant noise and illness from behind made the flight highly uncomfortable, despite using headphones to block out the sound. The only relief was when this person was sound asleep. It was so bad that my spouse alerted a stewardess. That stewardess let us know that they already offered a mask. This signifies to us that they were well aware this person was very sick and allowed them to fly regardless. Here are my concerns and suggestions for improvement: 1. **Online Check-In**: I would appreciate it if online check-in were available for international passengers with passports. This would streamline the process, especially for those traveling from abroad. 2. **Seat Assignments**: When passengers pay extra for seats together, it should be standard practice to ensure those seats are assigned together. It would greatly enhance the passenger experience. 3. **Health Declarations**: I believe the health declaration process needs to be enforced more rigorously. If passengers appear to be significantly ill, appropriate actions should be taken to maintain the health and safety of all travelers. If there is no current health declaration policy, implementing one would be beneficial. 4. **Health and Safety Protocols**: Clear and enforced health protocols are essential. Knowing that the airline prioritizes health and safety would allow passengers to travel with greater confidence. Worst airline ever. The app is useless. Bought e tickets and yet can't print out your boarding passes when you can check in online. No kiosks at LAX to print the boarding passes. So now in Korea for a domestic flight to Seoul from Jeju, which was delayed to begin with. After boarding and waiting for 45 plus minutes, we had to deplane. What a nightmare! It was my first time flying with Asiana two weeks ago. I had an unplanned for ahead of time trip to Vietnam to see my grandparents and relatives in Vietnam. It's been a decade since I've been back and due to the late planning I didn't want to spend more money on a flight. So I used my Chase rewards points to book my flight to Vietnam and it was basically a free flight. For a "free" flight, I was really satisfied after coming home last week! I say "free" because I had a slight problem with my reservation in the beginning, which I'll explain later on. But for an Asian airline, I didn't think it could be this nice! In the past, I've flown with China Airlines to Vietnam and I don't recall any memorable moments with them. Asiana Airline is a Korean company and I'm impressed with their service! The flight attendants are one of the nicest and friendliest people I've experienced with on an airplane, specifically the female flight attendants. They are always smiling and happy and it's genuine too! And also really pretty and well groomed :) Their meals for the long flights are great too! Since being a Korean company you get Korean food as well! I thought the food was pretty authentic, but that's just me. Not sure if other Koreans would agree but for what you're paying for in economy, the meals are delicious! I was too lazy to take my phone out to take pics but others have posted and they were almost identical to what I ate. One meal in particular stood out to me was the bulgogi ssam. I've never had that before! One great thing with their meals is that if you don't know how to eat it, they have instruction cards to show you how! With detailed pictures and text! Another thing I was impressed with was the leg room space in Economy! From my past experiences with flying international flights, usually the middle seat of the middle section has the most legroom or if you're the first row. But on Asiana, all seats have good leg room! And they have outlets as well (for longer flights to and from SFO)! The TV screen is big enough too! Headphones, blankets, slippers, and pillows were also provided at your seat, if not they will go by and hand them out. Toothbrush, combs, and mouthwash are in the bathroom if needed. Overall, everything is great for what you're paying for in economy! If I were to actually pay for my flight, it would've still been affordable but not worth it for some because I only went for a week to Vietnam. My parents on the other hand bought their tickets way in advance and only paid around $560 RT for a 2 months trip! Also, keep in mind that there are no direct flights to Vietnam so there is a layover in Seoul, Korea. I've never been to Korea before and I hope to one day so the short layover to Seoul was really nice!! I got to take advantage of going to two different lounges at the Seoul Icheon International airport, which were also really nice! Priority pass holders FTW! There's quite a few to choose from too. I gotta say the Seoul airport was really nice and clean! One of the nicest Asian airports I've been to so far! There were plenty of signs that show you where to go if you've never been. The signs were big enough to see and colored from afar, which is great for people that are near sighted like me! The ease around the airport was easy and I never got lost. It's a pretty big airport so walking to a lounge and to your gate will be a long walk, but overall still good. There were plenty of seats and rest area as well! There was a whole floor upstairs dedicated for people to sleep/rest and meditate! I think at this point any airports that's NOT in America will beat any airport in the states. It just doesn't compare! International airports are just so much better. I'm so glad I got a layover in Seoul! Exploring a new airport is also really fun and exciting. For me at least since I'm all about new experiences :) I will definitely fly with Asiana Airlines again!! The ease of everything going smoothly and great service with this "free" flight makes me not want to fly with any other Asian airline! *Now going back to the "free", I made a silly mistake on my flight ticket to not put my middle name on my reservation. So I had to go through the long trouble of adding it with a Chase rewards rep. After a couple days, Chase updated my reservation and told me everything will be there when I check in on the day of my flight. Knowing that didn't put me at ease that it's done because I want to physically see that my middle name was added. So I checked with Asiana and reservation was not found. What Chase rewards FAILED to tell me was that they canceled my original ticket and made a new ticket. The lady I spoke with at Asiana was so helpful and made me feel confident that my flight was all set and ready to go! I always feel worried about booking through 3rd party websites cuz I've have bad experiences before. But luckily this time was good! Employees are friendly, but their response to the coronavirus is terrible. Rebookings are limited up to August 31. No refunds unless flights are cancelled. My flight was finally cancelled last week, but they ignored multiple emails requesting a refund. Phone agents have zero power, so don't waste your time. I had to file a dispute with my credit card. Hours wasted out of my day. Japanese and American airlines have all refunded their customers. Korean and Chinese Airlines are the only ones screwing their customers. I will never book another flight with a Korean airline. Shame on them, and shame on the Korean government for allowing them to embarrass their country. read more

I am not much of a traveler and this was my first International Flight since 1966. I opted for Asiana because they had a direct flight to Seoul. I figured I could do without the hassle of changing flights, especially in another country. I paid extra for the bulkhead seats. Only drawback is that you don't have a charger in the bulkhead seats. But that didn't end up mattering because there isn't any wifi. The flight to Korea they provided slippers, eye masks and earplugs. We were served a choice of water or mandarin oj throughout the flight. We had 2 meals and a snack. Everything was the same on the way back, minus the eye masks and earplugs. There are a multitude of shows, movies, music and other entertainment, but I still missed my wifi. read more

After arriving at LAX and my flight having a 12 hour layover. I attempted to either obtain my boarding pass or at least get some sort of timeline that I would be able to obtain the boarding pass. They could release the boarding pass and couldn't even tell me when the ticket counter would open to receive the boarding pass. The next morning I saw that they were open and walked up to the counter to be told that I was 15 minutes late to obtain my ticket and the "We so sorry for you" multiple times. The guy there said I wouldn't make my 11:30am flight even though it was only 9:15am. I was told that I am being labeled as a "no show" and would have to purchase another ticket to leave out on the later flight of 11:00pm. That cost me an additional $780.00. I was told that as long as I purchased a new ticket that I could continue on with my itinerary for the return flight. I arrived in Manila after my trip to board for my return flight and was told that I couldn't because I didn't use my original ticket and that if my tickets weren't in numerical order I couldn't use them to return home. They then told me I would have to purchase a new return flight costing $1,790 to be able to get back to LAX and that I would just have to deal with my travel agency to get a fractional refund. Bottom line is that Asiana is garbage and couldn't care less if what they were saying was complete trash information that leads to the customer having to spend another $2,500 on top of the original ticket purchase. Even after expressing that they were completely robbing me of my hard earned money and if the representative would have just told me that I would have an issue with my returning flight I had plenty of time to straighten it out but instead allowing me to think everything was kosher and finding out otherwise once I reached the ticket counter. I will absolutely never use Asiana again after my experience I had. I will forever know in my head that they robbed me of over$2,500 and treating me as though I should have just known everything before hand. The airplane is big and fast but it you loose your luggage it is a nightmare. I'm was a passenger from Lax to Manila international airport. One of my luggages did not come out of the conveyor. I filed a complaint in th airport. I filled up paperworks. They give me contact numbers. They will not answer. emailed them they won't respond. I used someone with influence. They looked and found the luggage they claimed. Mow they expect you to come back to the airport. If you live out Metro Manila it will cost you P5000 or more. Other airlines will deliver to your residence in a week time. Not Asiana. I'm not flying asiana airlines again. I hope readers won't experience this nightmare. SFO to Seoul (Incheon) then service to Clark Airbase (DAIA) - Comfortable coach seating with a lot of room to move, I'm 5'10 and I was able to stretch my legs out comfortably. - Better than average airline food - they served Bibimbap and even gave cute lil tubes of the red pepper sauce. Meals were served promptly and taken away when finished in a timely manner. They served wine during dinner. - Flight Attendants are very attentive and smiled all the time and very accomodating to requests. 3hour layover at Incheon airport in Korea. This is an excellent airport, beautifully laid out with very good amenities. Restaurant selection was diverse (fastfood, pastries, juicebars, local specialties) and I didn't miss the chance to eat some spicy tofu soup as I waited for my connecting flight. They don't take take any shortcuts just b/c the food is served at an airport restaurant, they served my meal on a sizzling stoneware with all the kim-chee trimmings. I paid about 8000 won or about 6 bucks US. Seoul to Clark (DAIA) via airbus. - Slightly less comfy seating but spacious enough. They served a small meal even though it was a short 3.5 hour flight to Clark airbase. This service to Clark (1.5 hours from Manila) is a huge deal b/c it allows for passengers bound for the smaller provinces of the Philippines to be closer instead of being inside the heart of busy Manila. In addition, CebuPacific even has service from Clark to Cebu (then to boracay beach). Clark is a small airport so get down and on your way speedily. ***************************************************************************** On the return trip, Clark to Incheon - 10 hour layover!!! However, instead of a long wait at the airport, check this out: Asiana offers a tour of Seoul which the a tour guide with bus picks you up and takes you around Seoul for some sight seeing, lunch and souvineer shopping, service back to Incheon OR, if you prefer: A hotel stay near Incheon with a buffet lunch and prompt service back to Incheon. I opted for the tour and visited some cool sites like the presidential palace, tomb of the kings, buddhist temples and then a bulgogi lunch at a restaurant i can't remember right now (it was good). I love Philippine Airlines, but after this experience...I will choose Asiana for the value (roughly 700 USD RT to Philippines) and the service. read more

For an airline, Asiana meets your expectations and goes beyond it. I know right, an Airline that goes beyond your expectations! This must not be true. But, thankfully, even in this economy, Asiana manages to still treat people like, well, people and not just as clients. I flew from SFO to Seoul then to Manila. Ahh, I said, I'm gonna die. But surprisingly I didn't. The flight to Seoul (the longer leg of the trip) was comfortable, and bearable As a 5'10. nearing 5'11 guy, I was able to very very comfortably stretch my legs without annoying the person in front of me. Hell, i was even able to comfortably sleep. The entertainment isn't too shabby either. Duplicity, Ghosts of Exes past, Push/star trek (dont remember), and Monsters Vs. Aliens, It was a good flight. The food.... ahh, ive never tasted such good food. yum. they served beer, wine, an array of drinks during the meal and tea and coffee after. Great service. I even asked for head ache medicine and they hand me brand named Tylenol. I found that cool. Hmm what else, what else. I dont know. the flight from Seoul to Manila was less glamorous as the SFO to Seoul one, but still good service. I really liked asiana and will most likely travel asiana when going back and forth from Manila to SFO. I never loved an airline this much! it's cheap, but they treat their clients with respect. Amazing airline. Once I brought a cheesecake on board and they refrigerated it for me without acting like it was as ridiculous of a request as it was. Their bibimbap is really good. Sometimes on the night flights from Singapore to Seoul I have had 4 seats to myself in the middle and have been able to sleep across them. I think one of the stewardesses tucked me in. The also have free eye patches and toothbrushes. I must admit I have never flown Korean Air though. The reason for this is that Asiana is a star alliance member so flying with them earns miles with United mileage plus, which is the most generous frequent flyer program, even after recent reductions in the value of miles. read more

My favorite Airline. I've flew with Asiana many times since 2013 and always had great experience with them. Check in, service, FAs, food, lounges, transit, and etc are all 5 Stars. Eva and Singapore are also 5 stars but since I signed up for Asiana Club, I fly with them more often because of miles. Service: 5* Value: 5* Food: 5* Experience: 5* Service: I recently flew with China Eastern on my recent trip, and boy oh boy how I miss all the little things that makes flying on long haul great. You know how you got it good, you become a bit spoiled. Check in: Always smooth at SFO, Incheon, Hanoi, Saigon, Bangkok. Baggage always arrive on time and early with Star Alliance Priority. Flight Attendants: Are they not one of the best well dressed FA? Tailored outfit, perfect hair, and posture. So much better than American based Airlines who tends to give senior priority on international flights and most are old and grouchy. These young FAs smile genuinely and love their job. You know when you got the new job/career, you're excited and want to be the best. Wake up in the morning, and excited to come to work. These FAs are like them *Asian Airlines* Then there are people who worked at the same place for so long that they hate their jobs. You can see in their face, and attitude. *American based airlines* Food: Food is always great. Nice cups, trays, metal utensils and etc. Economy class that doesn't feels like economy. You always have an option for Western or Korean. There's also always option for seafood and meat. Great for people like me who doesn't eat seafood. I didn't find out how important this is until my recent trip that served both seafood option! Drinks: Free beer, wine, and any other types of drinks. What's the best? Free liquor! Whiskey, Cognac, Vodka and Rum. You can order it throughout the flight even when it's not during food service. They will bring it to you with a smile and 2 packs of peanuts/snacks. I usually bring my own mini shots bottle anyways but having it available on flight is great. It helps me sleep better. Value: It is always well priced. Usually sometime cheaper than budget airlines or around the same price. It is usually always cheaper than SA, or Eva. Because of this, I find it is much better value than SA or Eva. Also, most of the flights options for SA have 2 layovers. 1 transit in Incheon and a 9 hours overnight layover in Singapore. That's why I hated flying with SA because of the horrible layover. The new direct flight SFO to Singapore will help me fly with them again. Eva has the fastest transit to Saigon and back to SFO. Asiana always have at least 9 hours layover on the way back to SFO. Which is fine because I get the use of their business lounge or I head into the city on an overnight layover. Experience: Never had a bad experience with them. My recent trip in June, we were late for the transit flight to Hanoi/Saigon. There was someone waiting right outside of the plane with our names and walked with us to the transit desk to provide us with a hotel voucher. This is the first time it had happened but it's great to know you are well taken care of when this types of situation happen. The hotel was near the airport and there was a shuttle to take us there. It was a very new, clean, room was big, and we were taken to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Amenities: Footrest, slippers, toner, tooth brush, comb, mouth wash. Seats were comfy and roomy because of their 3-3-3 seating arrangement in their 777-200ER. There's 2 flights out of SFO and sometime you get the newer plane with 10 inch TV with USB plug in and power outlet. Sometime you get their older plane and old tv with no place to charge your phone. Besides that, I'm still happy whenever I fly with them regardless of their planes. The transit from Incheon to Saigon is usually with their A321 and it's one of the newer ones. Transit to Bangkok is 777-200ER newer ones. I haven't flown in their A380 yet so I think I am going to book from LAX next time I head back to Asia. Overall: Feel great to be treated like a king who fly in Economy. Fly with them so many times that it feels like home. You know exactly what you're getting each and every time. read more

I traveled on Asiana from San Francisco, California to South Korea. I experienced poor customer service in many areas: 1. No instruction on carry-on size limit at online check-in. I had a medium sized suitcase that other airlines would let me carry on the plane. I showed the suitcase to the Asiana agent at the gate at San Francisco. She reacted in an upset tone and said "that's too big!". I agreed to check the back immediately but she kept going on saying "you'll have to check it!". Asiana blocks a few seats that I understand are for people to move there if they don't want to sit next to an emergency exit. On the flight to South Korea, a flight attendant helped move a mother to one of these seats who was tired of being next to her own loud toddlers! I guess the dad was still sitting next to the toddlers but it's really irresponsible to help one of the parents abandon their own toddler, especially if they're being loud. 3. Checking in for returning flight to San Francisco, counter agent at Busan airport said they were booking me an aisle seat but I ended up with a middle seat. 4. On flight to San Francisco, food was terrible - salad looked like it had gone bad, bread was like rubber, and pasta was crunchy. Also, it took a long time for the attendants to clean up the food trays and the bathrooms were disgusting. 5. After arriving at San Francisco, it took almost 2 hours to get luggage. Asked Asiana agents when I would get luggage several times and they just smiled and ignored me. Called customer service and manager was rude too. I will take Korean Air next time and tell people to avoid Asiana. read more

I booked my ticket on May 2022 to fly from sfo to asia. I make a mistake and need to change my connection flight from 14 hours to 3 hours. I called numerous time and no one will answer and voice message would said line is too busy and call back at another time. My first connection after waited 45 minutes and i was connected to Korea. I talked to the agent and she told me she can not help me cause i need to change it at SF office. Another long wait of 30 minutes to connected in LA, after talked to the agent and she told me i will be on the wait list for the connection flight. She told me office is closed in korea and call back again to see if they confirm. I am flying business class and i talked to Korea and now they told me Korea office is close. I told them I dont mind to call back but take for ever to connect with agent. She told me to call on the sunday. Wait time is shorter. I call on sunday and i was forward to korea again. Wait time was less then 10 minutes. After i gave her my confirmation number, she keeps saying my change is not confirm yet. I need to wait and call back to check on the status. I am flying business class and this is how they care about you. I have been trying to change a section of my flight and for over 9 days i still have not get an answer yet. I wasted numerous of hours and also got disconnected twice after wait over 30 minutes. The online is like back to 20 years ago. Can not even change your own Itenery. I have been flying for years, this is the first time an airline that has no customer service. Asiana should not sell their ticket online. After 9 days, numerous phone call with 3 different number, talked to 3 agents, and i am still hanging to wait for a change on my connection flight. read more

About two weeks after the 2013 crash at SFO, I flew Asiana for the first time to Incheon. I was really taken back by their service from the start. Right before check-in all agents bowed during a short musical interlude and began checking everyone in. My favourite things were quality of the food service and readiness to provide service, very bright and cheerful through the food and drink services. Even one of the stewards after going through customs even acknowledged me being on her flight. Never happens on a domestic airline. I will choose this airline again. read more

After countless times of riding Asiana Airlines throughout my life, because of this one incident, I will never fly anywhere with them. This occurred in July of 2013. I was leaving Incheon airport and was headed back to SFO in America. I was waiting at the gate. Turns out, our plane was going through some delays. Soon, I heard my name through the speakers. They wanted me to talk to someone in the front desk. I went up, and a kind lady said to me, "You are in seat 9C, correct? I apologize, but there was a mistake in assigning your seat on the plane. There is a man who is in the same seat as you. Is it okay if we send you to 27J? It is an aisle seat. I am very sorry for the inconvenience." My response: "What? How could this even happen? So the ticketing people assigned 2 people to 1 seat...?" Anyways, this was all very confusing to me but I understood mistakes happen so I agreed, but asked if I could cut the line (because the line to get into the plane was very long) and they said of course. I went on the plane and passed by 9C, where I saw the man. I proceeded to 27J. There was a lady with her 2 kids. I asked if this was her seat, and if I could see her ticket. Sure enough, this was her seat. My ticket looked pathetic because the front gate people had crossed off 9C and scribbled in 27J. How embarrassing. I spoke to one of the flight attendants and told her about my situation. She went outside of the plane and to the gate to talk to the other people. Some other flight attendant told me to sit in the seats that the flight attendants sit on. You know, the ones that fold down. Meanwhile, everyone was situated in their seats. It was even more embarrassing that everyone could see that I was obviously sitting in the flight attendant's seat. After a grueling 15 minutes, I started to get irritated. No one could figure out why this all happened, and I think they also couldn't figure out where to put me. So I was talking to whoever I could, then asked, "Wouldn't it just be easier to bump me up to business class? Obviously there are no seats for me, so let me sit there." I received neither a yes or a no, and they continued to scramble and talk to the gate people. Another 10 minutes later, a flight attendant approached me and told me I could go back to my original seat 9C. What the hell? I said ok... I went over, and the man was gone. The plane was literally about to roll out of Incheon, so I put my carry-on in the cubby and sat down. One lady flight attendant apologized for this whole mess. Then I asked her, "Where did the man go?" She replied, "Oh, he was moved to business class..." Done. Anger. Fumes. Steam. For the entire 10 hours back to SFO, I was heated. Why? 1. What a clumsy, stupid ticketing error. 2. I believe that because I am a college student and this man is... well, a man, they discriminated against me and moved him up to business class instead of me. An hour into the flight, we received our food. The little girl next to me splashed steak sauce on my new white pants. Breathe in... breathe out... Near the end of our flight, the same lady flight attendant approached me and started to ask personal questions. Where are you from? Why were you in Korea? Where do you go to school? What are you studying? She was trying to be nice but I could tell she was very sorry for what had happened. She then told me that the man was moved to business class because he had a lot of miles so he was able to use that to upgrade his seat. Bullshit? If he wanted to sit in business class, he could have told that to the ticketing people when he was getting his seat number. I have flown to and from Korea numerous times and I had a lot of miles as well. She said it was not because I was a student. I told her that I was for sure going to complain about this. My dad also knows people in Asiana Airlines and I was most definitely going to call him after I get off the plane. I also asked for her name, as well as the male flight attendant. The lady said next time I ride Asiana, she'll make sure that I have a good flight and this doesn't happen ever again. I told her there probably won't be a next time for me to board any Asiana airplanes. And trust me, the conversation I had with her was polite and not mean. This was my unlucky experience with Asiana Airlines. I just came back from Singapore and Korea this past December and flew with Korean Air. I was very pleased. That's all! read more

first off, you suck for changing the sfo to icn planes and vice versa from a 747 to a 777. this happened like 5yrs ago and im still pissed. but then again, starting the first of june 2006, you guys changed to a more decent hour flight, i rode the first changed 0Z 214 flight, icn to sfo. much nicer hours. the foods gotten better. actually had a somewhat edible meal on the flight back from korea this time around. was seared seabass. going against all knowledge of plane food, i ordered it. not bad actually. i didnt die. plus one. was actually seared. plus one. had flavor, plus one. the flight there however, i drank a bottle of 17yr old ballentines and dont quite remember too much....ugh damn free liquor. the flight attendants were giving me weird smiles on the way out. when i got to my sisters apt and took a shower, i found a 011 korean cell phone number written on an asiana napkin. things that make you go hmmm. ahahhaha and ramen on demand rocks. useful info, theyre a bit more expensive than say singapore, but i stuck with them cause of my boa mileage card. read more

This is actually a review of the Asiana Airline and Star Alliance Business Class Lounge at the Seoul Incheon airport. The lounge is located just outside Security station #4. I was there at about 9pm on a Sunday. First, the staff are very friendly; but that is where the positives end. The lounge is very dark inside. The lounge is large enough for probably 300+ people. Yet their hot food selection consists of two (2) dishes, both Asian in nature. Not necessarily a bad thing if you like kimchi and do not have a seafood allergy. Not to mention, the dishes remained empty for the first 40 minutes I was there. Their 'finger-food" sandwiches were uninviting. There is a station to make instant Ramyeon; there was no Ramyeon. I had to make my spirit drink in a beer mug as there were no wine or cocktail glasses on the shelf. There is a beer tap which has no drain underneath so if your beer form overflows, it does so on the floor. I cleared the dirty dishes and glasses from the small tables on either side of my chair to the counter next to the large screen TV. There the dishes sat for 45 minutes. Other tables around also remained un-cleared for at least 45 minutes. There were no newspapers or magazines on the shelves to read. I wanted to provide some input to Management so I went to the front desk where I was given a name and email. As of now, three days later, the contact has declined to respond. If you are paying for lounge access, my recommendation would be to save your money and eat at the hamburger joint out in the terminal. If I were any of the Star Alliance-associated airlines, I would be embarrassed by the association. read more

They offer direct and connecting flights to various cities in Asia and their planes are generally well-kept and comfortable. The best airline serving Korea and with good connections with Asia. Compared to US carriers the service is amazing. Check in could use some improvement but once you get onboard, it makes up for it. The food is very good and if you miss dinner service, they leave you a note saying you can order food whenever. But I have one employee who refuses to let me book him on this airline since he has a friend who was a previous employee who left on bad terms. so now he's convinced that Asiana is racist. But I do like that they are inexpensive, they have mid-day departures from SFO and Korea, and they tend to have direct flights to Korea when other airlines are sold out. They are in the Star Alliance, so they accept United miles. read more

I just flew Asiana from SFO to Seoul and had a great experience. 1. Excellent in-flight service: The attendants were just that - attentive. I loved the hot towels they gave us right after takeoff to wipe our hands with. Can't remember if other airlines do that, but it sure was nice to wipe the grime from the airport off my hands. Throughout the flight, they kept the drinks and the food coming efficiently and at regular intervals. They handed out a printed menu with a choice between two lunches which was a nice touch. We had two full meals, both of which were very good and plentiful, and two snacks, plus lots and lots of drinks. I asked for a special vegetarian meal and was not disappointed. 2. On-demand movies and TV shows. A varied and long list of recent movie blockbusters (about five of which were on my netflix list) that I could fire up all the way from takeoff to touchdown. Having the ability to pause a movie when you finally heave yourself out of the chair to go stand in line for the bathroom is fantastic. And free gaming for the kids. Last intercontinental flight I was on, you had to pay extra for that privilege. I'd been told that the seats were small but I felt that there was more legroom in this plane (777) than on 747s I'm used to flying. (It didn't hurt that there was no-one sitting next to me so I could spread out either.) There's no getting around the fact that long distance flying, especially in economy class is tiring and boring. Asiana did a great job in making the time go by quite painlessly. read more

Great when I bought the ticket but changing anything is a nightmare. Booked a web flight on Friday $630. Easy Peezy... Sunday needed to change the flight so there is a $46 change fee (fine). In addition the agent stated there was an extra $800 charge because they cannot access web fares... The flight through the agent was $1400... No leniency from teller so after 25 minutes waiting for a manager they fixed it in 5 minutes... Agent was of little use, manager was marginally better. read more

Asiana Airlines My wife and I traveled from SFO to India this Sept. Our major complaints are as follows: the food is terrible. They served beef which was like shoe leather and smelled. Even the flight attendant could not cut it, but did not offer another dinner. It seems one is offered dinner even thought the departure time warrants breakfast. The seating is poor in economy class- not enough leg room and seats are uncomfortable. . When we arrived at each stop- we could hardly walk. The flight attendants need to learn better English. We had difficulty understanding them. The pa system on all flights taken was poor. We could not hear nor understand most of the announcements. The flight attendants made a show of being friendly, but pretty much ignored any reasonable request. This may have been due to not understanding English well. read more

Generally speaking, this is a good airline. No delays and reasonably priced. The food, space, and service are all excellent on economy. Besides flight attendant and the Captain's poor English, my only other complaint is the people on the plane. Please note that flying from SF to Asia on Asiana, you get a variety of different kinds of people because S. Korea is a connecting point for many countries in Asia (such as India, Singapore, China, etc.). Certain group of people has very distinct smell (probably because of their unique spices). This is a very uncomfortable smell for me. This may be an one-time incident, but those people with very uncomfortable smell are also extremely rude. So, my overall experience was bad. No matter how great I think the airline is, I just can't give it a five star. read more

A big NO for pet owners. Wanted to book a flight to Bangkok for me and my small dog. They gave me really hard time, spoke poor English and basically just wasted my time. After all the bookings and the details they finally told me, that my dog couldn't go because of some internal regulation. Their recommendation was to just leave him here. After that they pretty much kicked me out. If you want good service and take your pet with you. Go somewhere else! If you just wanna fly cheap. I guess it can work.
