I do think the food is better than that of most coffee shops, but I don't actually eat the food often. I've found the service to be good and for the staff to be friendly, but they only have one register, so the line may be a bit long if they are busy. It can be a bit loud, it it's a pleasant place to sit and drink coffee. The Well will normally have three pour over choices that are from their limited time offered beans. They see very fruity and flavorful, and I really enjoy that kind of coffee. They make them right where you can see them do it, and It's fun to watch the process. I've often come to try the pour over only to later buy a bag of beans for home. When you do, you get a free 12 ounce drip coffee. However, to be honest, the drip offerings seem rather mediocre to me. I would not go there to buy the batch drip coffee. I do know they have a good cappuccino, though. I debated lowering the rating when I thought about their main medium roast blend on drip - Confluence. They had a blend of Ethiopian and Kenyan beans, and it was some of the best coffee I ever had. Now, they've rotated to a blend of beans from Ethiopia and New Guinea. I bought a bag thinking it would be similar to what I had before, but it just wasn't anywhere near as good, unless you brew it as espresso. However, it's really the pour over that I drink here, so I'm keeping the eating at five stars.

It's a calming environment from the clean blue hues throughout the store to the live plants all around. The inviting space is great for a small meeting amongst colleagues or friends, but can also provide a cozy study corner. The house espresso is smooth and balanced. The most unique seasonal coffee menu item is the fygge newton - I order mine with almond milk which is perfectly sweet and nutty.

It's in a small shopping center at the north limits of the Crieve Hall neighborhood. You can normally find a parking spot in the lot or if you know someone in the neighborhood, walking is an option too. Walk in and order at the counter. Be sure to check the available bagels that day AND any specials, especially the cinnamon bun special. Every time I have been, the staff has been extremely helpful as you navigate the choices. (note - there is a separate window outside to pickup online orders, delivery orders etc. so that helps with inside congestion). There is almost always a line but it moves quickly. On my last visit, they had just completed the March Madness bracket and were featuring the Cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese- $1. As I said, always check the special! They will feature some interesting coffees, bagels varieties and let's talk about the Cinnamon Roll. The first time I sampled the Cinnamon Roll special it was a blueberry pancake version, imagine an amazing cinnamon roll(yes, it's sweet but not overly and has great flavor), with blueberries and cream on top! The only downside is they are very large, but that means you get one to share with your people. Their bagels are really good! You can eat them plain or get some spread for them. (note that bulk bagel orders are not sliced). They also have breakfast sandwiches. To top it off, this has the feel of a real neighborhood spot. Plenty of folks greeting each other, friends connecting, families gathering. Indoor seating with books for the wee folks and some outdoor tables too. I understand they have another location but this is original CHBCO. Definitely worth checking it out!

I ordered the Cuban (very sweet and delicious) and the Fig & Pig bagel with arugula, bacon and fig jam. It was absolutely delicious. My coworker ordered an Americano and the Autumn Brie-ze. They also have Cafe Beverages like Coffes, Mimosas, Fresh Squeezed O.J. and Lemonade. There is plenty of free parking. The staff are friendly and the food comes out quickly. They also have Seasonal Beverages and some Seasonal Food items. It's definitely a good option instead of fast food places. The shopping center they are located in offers plenty of free parking. Surface parking is nearby and a garage is right behind Maple Street. The indoor dining room is large and a patio offers more seating. We've never had an issue getting a table here. The biscuits here are good. They are much better biscuits than another business in the area with biscuit in the name. I enjoy the Retro Breakfast with the tasty hash brown. The veggie gravy has a nice flavor. Overall, the food is good for a faster, casual option. The coffee here is decent too. They offer both brewed options and a variety of sweet lattes. I'd love to see them add some lighter menu options. My husband loves to eat here and I would be more agreeable to it if it didn't doom me to all high calorie options. I appreciate that calorie counts are on the menu board to help with this. Maple Street is a good option if you're in this area looking for a casual daytime option.

Compared to other places in Nashville, the Matcha I had was was perfect with the taste and texture (it held up with it's savory umami flavor without being too watered down/ too much milk).
