The ginger lemon tea: I asked several times does it have caffeine in it. One employee said no and the other said check the menus. Upon checking the menu, it did not say. They still could not provide me with an answer as to if it had caffeine. After making my tea and pastry I waited an additional ten minutes for my matcha, the person making it was socializing, checking out a new item for their bathroom and leisurely making my matcha. After about 8 minutes he finally looked at me and asked was I waiting for something. Matcha: the matcha was not great, it had a cleaning solution taste to it. That's pretty much all I can say. Coffee cake: the coffee cake was good but it didn't say anything about having a filling in it. And it was filled with some brown filling. And I'm not a fan of fillings in pastries.

It's in a small shopping center at the north limits of the Crieve Hall neighborhood. You can normally find a parking spot in the lot or if you know someone in the neighborhood, walking is an option too. Walk in and order at the counter. Be sure to check the available bagels that day AND any specials, especially the cinnamon bun special. Every time I have been, the staff has been extremely helpful as you navigate the choices. (note - there is a separate window outside to pickup online orders, delivery orders etc. so that helps with inside congestion). There is almost always a line but it moves quickly. On my last visit, they had just completed the March Madness bracket and were featuring the Cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese- $1. As I said, always check the special! They will feature some interesting coffees, bagels varieties and let's talk about the Cinnamon Roll. The first time I sampled the Cinnamon Roll special it was a blueberry pancake version, imagine an amazing cinnamon roll(yes, it's sweet but not overly and has great flavor), with blueberries and cream on top! The only downside is they are very large, but that means you get one to share with your people. Their bagels are really good! You can eat them plain or get some spread for them. (note that bulk bagel orders are not sliced). They also have breakfast sandwiches. To top it off, this has the feel of a real neighborhood spot. Plenty of folks greeting each other, friends connecting, families gathering. Indoor seating with books for the wee folks and some outdoor tables too. Almost always packed, even right before closing. I've done delivery a couple of times before finally showing up in person. (And now regret I ever did delivery. Pickup is easy and the fees are not worth it.) Menu is tight and purposeful: banh mi, pho, rice noodle bowls, a handful of appetizers, all inexpensive. The boba and fruit teas are an influencer's dream: colorful, instagrammable, with lots of interesting flavors to choose from. But the real draw here is the made-fresh-daily mochi donuts, and the flavor lineup leans decidedly international: taro glaze, Dubai chocolate, strawberry pocky, pistachio. My personal favorite is actually the plain sugar (maximum chewy mochi mouthfeel), but the fancier ones hold up, too. Miles better than what the nearby chain Asian bakeries are doing, and I have eaten at a lot of those. All that said, the actual food is not an afterthought. The tofu banh mi ($8.95) has become a genuine addiction, on what tastes like real, homemade French bread. Ordered on their website, ready in 15 minutes, waiting at the counter 2 minutes after I walked in. The 1 friction point: the space gets crowded enough that navigating to the counter for pickup is a little awkward. Parking is easy (massive shared lot), staff is warm and fast. Would be in very regular rotation if it weren't slightly out of my way, and it's well worth the effort.
