Avoid this place like the plague! Told me $100 diagnostics, ended up being $200. Claimed they identified the issue with my oil pressure gauge that was fluctuating and also a slow oil leak they supposedly fixed. $1200 later, the oil pressure gauge in my truck was still fluctuating and oil is still leaking. Nothing was actually fixed. Went in a week later to talk with them about the persistent issues and how they weren't resolved, asking them if I had to pay for another diagnostics test (since I just had one done with them a week earlier) They couldn't give me a straight answer then he got defensive, and just started being rude. Horrible customer service and transparency. Do yourself and your wallet a favor a go elsewhere. read more

Avoid Aspen Auto! my car stopped shifting out of low gear and Aspen Auto was the closest mechanic from where I was. They charged me $350 for a diagnostic, I wasn't told that the price of which did not go toward the repair. Then gave the car a transmission service ($453.25) that didn't fix the transmission. Then they said they believed the alternator was the problem, that they wanted $587 to fix. That, incidentally, wasn't caught by the disgnostic. The manager when questioned about the repair was rude, argumentative, and condescending. I then took it to my regular mechanic, Autoworks in Aurora, who gave me a free disgnostic after I told them the problems I had at Aspen Auto. In all transparency, I must clarify that their regular diagnostic is usually $160 dollars which does go toward the repair. They said the failing alternator interferes with the transmission control unit, and should have been checked first. Their charge for an alternator and installation was $440. $147 cheaper than Aspen Auto. read more

I only leave negative reviews if it's absolutely necessary and to warn others. Mitch failed to give me a total estimate for repairs and misrepresented the total price I would be paying out of pocket. On the phone the day before pickup, he made it sound like the total for the two services was going to be $786. Upon arrival to pick up my vehicle he unexpectedly charged $1500. He never mentioned the TOTAL estimated price for a water pump replacement and transmission fluid flush costing $1500 verbally on ANY of the times we talked on the phone or on any document signed by me for approval. He claimed over the phone that he was itemizing those services yet never gave me the true total of $1500. When I arrived and he told me the total price for the first time, he condescendingly asked me if I had a problem with the math. Finally they held my car ransom and made me pay $1500 and told me "corporate will look into the phone calls." Furthermore, Kelley blue book states that the average fluid flush for an Audi is $150-400 after doing more of my own research, so their prices are scammy in the first place. Seems like this place's business model is taking advantage of people that don't know about their options and overcharging. We will see what corporate says but I'm ready to also take this to the better business bureau and potentially small claims. They will not be able to produce proof for a total quote given to me and that is probably because Mitch knew I would've said no to a more that 100% price increase. Update: "costs and scope were clearly discussed." What a deflective answer when addressing whether or not a total estimate was given verbally or in writing. I was on a road trip and spent a few days in Colorado Springs. I found Aspen Auto Clinic near me and stopped in to get an oil change and an inspection on the car before heading down the road again. The whole experience was great. The service advisors were really friendly and knew what they were doing. The waiting room was clean and a great place to hang out for a while. The big thing is that they also found out that I had a leaking water pump which could have lead to a time out on the side of the road in the desert on my way home. And even worse when they went to replace the water pump we found out that my timing belt had never been changed and I had 150,000 miles on the car. Timing belt failure could have left me looking for a new engine. It was a bit more than I was expecting to pay that day but I am really glad I did. Thanks Aspen! read more

It was obvious he was irritated with just having to talk to me. After 4 other companies gave me run around, wouldn't quote price, told me I had to leave car there for day , pay for diagnostics, Aspen was upfront , told me it could be A, B or C and cost of each. They got my car in , fixed quickly , inexpensively, stuck to the price even though the part was more. read more

Editing my review for clarity and information - as time has gone on, I'm feeling less and less confident in the work that was done to the vehicle and after what I felt to be a very passive aggressive call from Juan - this is just not the shop for me. At first it seemed great, everything was working fine but shortly after the car was finished I noticed a horrible grinding noise in the back of the car. I had to take it in to get it looked at and apparently when they were working on it a panel got loose and started grinding on another component. **EDIT** I was told by Juan that what I'm saying here is untrue and that it was a bad drum head. There's definitely a possibility that I misunderstood - however that's how I remember things happening. The communication with the shop was an issue. At first they said the car would be done by Wednesday - come Wednesday towards the end of the day I haven't heard anything so I had to call and ask. Turns out that it was actually going to be done Thursday. Thursday comes around and again, I hear nothing and have to call, was told the car would be done Friday. Friday rolls around and I still. hear. nothing. I call and they say it'll be fixed that day. It wasn't until after hours that it was complete. Then when I pick up my car, they informed me that what I thought was a really important component that needed to be replaced actually hadn't been replaced because of rust. Somehow my bill was around the same amount of money initially quoted to me and I was not informed they wouldn't be preforming the service until I went to pick up my car. Then the drumhead thing. Fast forward to now several months later my brakes are still squeaking. At first I thought the squeaking was from the brake replacement but it's persisted. I now have to go back a third time - which I will be going somewhere else to have it checked out. We spent almost 4k on repairs and I'm really not happy having to go back so many times on something that should've been done correctly the first time. Also they reached out asking how things were via text and I immediately responded about the brakes. I heard NOTHING and ended up having to call, don't really understand how you're going to send a text and I immediately respond that there are issues then I don't hear anything. Juan was really quick to get back to me about this review however, that call definitely confirmed that this is just not the shop for me. read more

Went in in Jan 2024 with a 20 yo vehicle to see if I could consider using them for my other vehicles. Just asked for an oil change. Advisor came out and recommended $4000 in other repairs; everything from a $50 lightbulb, to a $600 fluid flush, to a $1700 suspension repair, among others. Took the vehicle to another shop for a second opinion and lo and behold was given a completely different answer. Light bulb was $4, fluid flush was $250 and I'd replaced the suspension parts in question 3 months before. They were all good. In the end, It cost me $350 for everything on their list that had to be done. Don't get anything done at Aspen unless you've gotten a second quote from another reputable shop. read more

I was to say this place is great for a couple reasons, but one occurred today. I called looking for maintenance records and spoke with Mitch (I believe). I told him I moved to a new state and this new mechanic wants to do all these things to the Jeep, but I was sure they had done some of it (I Of course I didn't remember). He told me they have a new records system and would get back with me later, I though, oh man, this is going to be a pain. No, it wasn't. Mitch came through gloriously. An hour or so I got several emails with all my records. I'm just thankful they not only do good work, but they guarantee their work (and yes, I've brought the Jeep back with the same mechanical complaint and they were happy to fix it without any trouble), and they didn't brush me off knowing I just wanted records and would likely not be back (sorry). I just wish they were in my state, I trust them. Another tidbit that I should mention, when I was moving across the country this summer, I was nervous during the trip because I had just replaced my clutch and it didn't feel the same. I called them up thinking I could get stranded or something. And the office person (I want to say Michael) gave me his personal line and said to call if I had any trouble after hours and he'll call (and pay for a tow truck). And he also provided me with the national number to get the clutch looked at free because of the guarantee , since it didn't seem right by my standards. I guess I'm saying they are great because they really try to keep a vehicle safe and a customer happy, regardless if they will return. (And I hate mentioning issues with their work, but nothing is perfect and the guarantee makes up for anything that might need another look). Ok, I'm done. read more

Ryan is rude he will not let you get a word in edge wise. In the past I would have given positive review on this company but lately their quality of service and customer relations has gone downhill fast. I am a car guy I know how to diagnose problems and can typically do it with ease and out diagnose the technician. I just can't always work on the car due to epilepsy and when calling in to get a quote and giving the exact problem and all the underwriter can do is talk over the client. That's a problem. I will be taking my cars elsewhere from now on. There are other shops that offer the same 3/36k warranty. I only kept going to them out of a professional relationship that had been established and with a couple of calls and one employee is no longer in good standing. read more

I take my vehicle here for normal maintenance and any repairs needed. The staff is consistently professional, courteous, and most of all they are transparent in the way in which they conduct business. They always make an effort to go above and beyond, regardless if you are getting a ride in the shuttle, offering you water, or the way they treat you when it is time to do business. As close as it is to my job, it makes it extremely easy to drop it off and get a ride in the shuttle or ride my bike to work. As of now, AAC will definitely keep my business! read more

Update April 2018: I can no longer recommend Aspen Auto Clinic. There are at least three other options around it. I would try those instead. I took my wife's car in for annual service. I get it back and there is a liquid leaking from the front. They say to bring back. Tow the car in. The washer fluid reservoir is now leaking. They insist they were no where near it during the service. They couldn't have broken it and "this happens in Colorado". I have lived here for thirty years and had a dozen cars (many old) and not one has had a washer fluid reservoir go bad, suddenly or otherwise. They want $350 for it. No discount. No splitting it. No admitting of anything. Just pay it. So sorry. I'm out of town so I had no choice. My wife needed her car. Basically they don't want my several years and many thousands of dollars in business. Unfortunately I will now have to look for another place. Normally dealing with mechanics is never fun. It always seems like you never really understand what is happening and seem to get shafted somehow. Not with Aspen Auto Clinic. They were upfront and detailed about what they were doing, why, and alternatives. They even figured out how to maintain it so I could avoid the issue in the future. Brandon showed me his shop floor and was very proud of how clean it was. I have been looking for a good mechanic and had tried another one on Jordan near Aspen auto. This place really knows what they are doing. They focus on the customer. This is the way to gain repeat clients. Great place. Update from January 2017: been going here for several years now. Date is 1-2-2016 and I have a warning light on my BMW. My usual repair shop in the area is closed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Apsen Imports shows that they are open today from 8-5. I called them twice and nobody answers the phone. Also there is no recording confirming their hours for today and to top it off their answering machine won't accept new messages. this shop is a complete JOKE!!! everyone there is clueless and do not know what they are talking about!!! they were mentioned on website of company "best hybrid batteries" as an approved installer of their reconditioned hybrid batteries. when i called the shop and inquired about how much it would cost to install a battery, they just told me to bring the car in for diagnosis. After diagnosing my car, they told me i would have to buy a battery from them and they will not install any battery that came from outside, even though they were mentioned as approved installer on website of "best hybrid batteries"!!! The price they quoted me for their supplied battery was extremely high!!! A woman who claims to be the manager called me saying even though they normally do not install outside supplied battery, they will do it for me just this time, like they are doing me a huge favor. They also told me that one of the check engine light codes regarding the ABS system is not related to the bad battery. At the end i installed the battery myself and the check engine code for ABS did go away permanently so they misdiagnosed that too!!! the entire facility looks literally like a waste dump, kinda scary looking and i had hard time finding this place the first time because it did not even look like an autoshop. i cannot comment on the quality of their work because i never allowed it. read more

My sons VW Touareg broke down. The warrantee just expired and we are relatively new to Greenwood Village I did a search, Aspen popped up as a euro service center so I contacted them. They were great had a tow truck out quickly. I received a prompt text the next business day, to confirm a $350ish diagnostic. This should have been the first warning sign. We were leaving for vacation that Thursday and it was Tuesday. I was in a rush, was trading his car in, and explained this. I agreed. Not word Tuesday. I called Wednesday and they were nice enough assured me they working on it and would call me back that day. No call so Thursday I call again and same story again no call. We went on the trip and nothing the whole trip. Came home finally received a diagnosis today now 2 weeks later. Simple problem needs a new fuel pump module. This is a 10 min job to diagnosis OBD2 scan tool maybe 30. I called them out and they doubled down. They had the rear seats out running tests. BS I owned a shop and told them that. Quote was over $400 more than the dealership plus the bogus fees. Would not tell me the shop rate! Pure rip off avoid. Getting the job done for half the parts cost and over 1k less than the original quote. Don't waste you're money. read more

I hate to be 'that guy' when leaving these reviews but I left Aspen never to return b/c I found the shop to be unscrupulous. Originally tried them on a Groupon and it went ok. Brought my Acura in weeks later for a brake job and was quoted $790. Yikes! Was told some mumbojumbo about why both front calipers needing replacing b/c the left one was malfunctioning and if you're going to do one you should do both, blah, yadda, blah. I know just enough about cars to be dangerous & so said, "I don't have the $ right now, please put the car back together." Rolled out of there and went straight to our regular shop where the job was done (front pads with machined rotors) for $200. Not a fan. read more

If you need any type of work done on your car this is the best auto shop in Denver. I've had my fair share of being lied to and over charged for small maintenance on my car, but they are honest and helpful! I've been coming to Aspen for almost 2 years now, with 3 different cars- Camry, Altima and a Rabbit. Unfortunately each visit has been progressively less satisfying within the last year. They pride themselves on being an import shop, but do work on Japanese and American cars too. Their previous manager left, and now I feel the female-equality has decreased, as well as the general attentiveness to customers and the speed of service too. No one responds to the online appointment scheduler anymore, and it always seems to take more than 1 call to get a hold of them. I may be back, if I don't find anyone better by my next service. read more

We bought an older used BMW and took it here for problems with the drivers side door and window. Initially, I was pretty unfriendly and waiting to be lied to. However, they went out of their way to assist us. It WAS pricey but they give a terrific warranty and have better prices than most! Sadly you can't trust them. I want to like these guys, I do, but I'm not even sure I would trust them with an oil change after my experience. I went in with a VW Mark IV TDI manual transmission that is getting hard to put into gear. They recommended transmission fluid, saying the last guy that did it probably didn't use the right stuff. If I had called the dealer first, that would have been my first red flag. The transmission fluid has never been changed, because it is a closed system and the dealer doesn't recommend it. After quite a bit of research, nobody would seem to recommend it for my symptoms, and the it seems the best candidate is to flush and refill the brake fluid, since the brake and (hydraulic) clutch use the same fluid. I proposed that they should try to replace that as well. Instead of taking my money, they said that there is no reason to do so since my clutch isn't hydraulic DESPITE VISIBLY BEING CONNECTED TO THE BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR with the slave cylinder bleed valve clearly visible under the clutch linkages. The report said they checked the linkages, but now I can't be sure they actually did because it seems they might have noticed this fact. On top of $200 down the drain and a recommendation that I should rebuild the transmission, it seems they added motor oil for no apparent reason, which is frightening because I have no guarantee they used the very specific oil my TDI requires, and despite the warning on the engine not to overfill or risk damaging the catalytic converter. Either they forgot to screw the cap all the way down, or there is now so much oil in there that it's sloshing out the top. Now I suppose I'm headed to the dealer since they seem to be the only ones I can trust. read more

I had a major problem with my 2007 Nissan Xterra. Nissan lost a class-action lawsuit concerning faulty radiators that leaked coolant into the transmission, basically wrecking the car. Of course, I was a few thousand miles over the 100,000 mile warranty limit to neither Nissan USA nor Boulder Nissan would repair it. I took it to Aspen Auto Clinic and they got all the fluid out of my transmission before it was permanently damaged. They saved my Xterra so it will hopefully drive for another 100,000 miles. The staff was extremely friendly, especially the guy at the desk (sorry can't remember his name), they finished promptly and gave me a full run-down of ways to keep my car running. The folks at Aspen knew my situation and working with their team and their suppliers found ways to trim the costs down, make the repairs and keep me moving. The repair was a part they did not have. they got me a rental car next door and we were off to home. My car was repaired in 2 days and they took care of everything.
