I went there in 2016 to have teeth extracted and dentures. I was extremely happy with the service as well as the dentures. in the 8 years I wore them, they never broke, I dropped them countless times. Fast forward to 12/31/24 when I walked out with new dentures. in March I dropped the bottom denture, breaking it. They made me a new dentures from and did not charge me. Now on 10/13, I was eating a piece of roast beef and the replacement denture broke in the same exact location as the first one. I went back, they repaired my denture charging me $149.00 to glue it back together. I tried expressing my frustration with the dentist, he was simply getting to frustrated with me, so I walked out. My concern is the 2 bottom dentures breaking for different reasons but in the same exact spot. The dentist tells me they will probably break again and all he could offer me was a hard reline and that may not work. so I bargained in good faith with Aspen, paying over $3000.00 for new dentures and the bottome one is going to keep breaking. What is wrong with this picture? I will never go back there again. Now I have to go to a different dental office to have a new bottom denture made. this place is absolutely horrendous. the office lady at the location is cold and not helpful. the office staff and the call center gives conflicting instructions and just blame each other. they do not know what they are doing and cannot keep track of appointments, leaving the patients to waste their time and to suffer through pain for weeks. after reading through other reviews here and on Google it appears that it was a good thing that they erroneously canceled my appointment because it seems like they are legally or possibly illegally extorting people for their money with unnecessary treatments and what sounds like fake charges on top of that. I would go to literally any other dentist besides Aspen dental. you might think they will get you in quicker or be more convenient but read these reviews, you'll wind up getting pushed out for weeks due to errors, there are reports that they force people to have other treatments before they will agree to do what the person came there for, even if they are in extreme pain, and the staff does not care in the least. don't believe anything they say. I hope some of these patients that have left reviews sue this place and I hope they get rid of the cold unhelpful lady that works the counter. If you care about your teeth don't go here. The oral hygienist recommend a deep cleaning and said "nobody's losing any teeth on my watch". She didn't finish the deep cleaning and said their internet service was down but she'd call me to schedule the next phase of cleaning...she never did. A few months later I was having pain with the teeth she cleaned so I went to a real dentist and found out I had to have 2 teeth pulled because they went bad. I paid Aspen dental over $1000 and still lost teeth. When I went there to tell Aspen dental what happened the office manager got a big smile on her face....heartless! I was treated terribly by one hygienist after I informed her of my extreme dental anxiety. From there I was treated like garbage. Nothing was explained to me and they basically told me to get out after my appointment was completed. The woman that identified herself as the office manager was so rude I literally couldn't believe the way she was speaking to me and treating me. I thought it was a fluke and tried calling the next day and the terrible treatment continued. Amsterdam Aspen dental is the McDonalds of dentist. Obviously they don't pay well because they don't have very nice employees. Terrible customer service and terrible patient care. Don't go here. On the bright side they take welfare and speak Spanish. I went there out of desperation since they were the first available and earliest appointment I could make though it was over 2 hrs away. I read the current reviews after appointment was made and thought, only negative ($&@%*) what am I getting into. Nonetheless a need is a must. So I went. No emails were sent to confirm or verify when and where the location is. But I'm resourceful...so as I arrive they were expecting me and took care of me immediately. Tho the work couldn't be done there they made sure to work wi me and get me to where I needed to be the very next day (As a slip in) and closer to home. Everyone there was friendl, welcoming and helpful. Half your experience is always your responsibility and attitude with ppl. Be kind, respectful and don't sweat the small stuff. For my routine semi annual visits , I find the staff very pleasant in providing this essential service. Any question is answered with knowledgable professional approach and a pleasant explanation. Absolutely horrible. Called for my son for an emergency situation, they told us on the phone they would apply a coupon so today's visit would be free and any appointments after that could be billed. We rushed down there for them to tell us that they don't apply those coupons and it would be $250 upfront and if the dentist did anything it would be another $500 on top of that. The people in the Amsterdam office were very rude. This is the 2nd time this office has done this. We were desperate and hoping to get some help. I do NOT recommend this practice. $1500 to clean my teeth. Then they want $17,000 to build a bridge. Want to pull 4 teeth to do this. Every time I got a new estimate, I got charged again for a tooth brush. I only got 1 toothbrush. It was pretty expensive. I didn't need to keep paying for it again and again. There was no quick fix to the loose tooth. They kept rescheduling me. When I told them I didn't have $17,000 to do the work they wanted to do, they started trying to Renegotiate for different work. All they wanted me to do was sign the paper so could get paid. Told me insurance wouldn't pay for any of it. Don't believe those commercials. Their going to rob you blind and I didn't see any free toothbrushes. This place is horrible!!! This place is such a scam. They insisted I had terrible gingivitis and needed a special cleaning before the normal cleaning. They swore my insurance would cover it, they did not. I called Aspen to clear up the charges and they told me they'd call me back in a few days. Never did. Just found out they sent the bill to a collections agency! Ok i called to schedule a cleaning and to eatablish as a new patient. X-rays taken, doctor comes in to review and look at films and discuss. I wait, nothing is said, i have my back to them. Then i hear a woman's voice telling me i am done. when i questioned about the cleaning, she said "oh you will have to make another appointment for that". She never introduced herself and i never got her name. When i went to book the appointment, they wanted to charge me 250 for a "special gingivitis cleaning", which my insurance didn't cover. I declined and said i want the regular cleaning that my insurance does cover. "Nope, sorry, can't do that". I was so pissed, i left, called my old dentist and scheduled a cleaning. I called them back and the woman who answered tried to compare the special cleaning with open heart surgery. Basically, do as i say because we know what is best and you have no options. Then the witch used her "i am more powerful than you" card and said it would take 3-5 business days for her to send me the e-mail of the xrays. Seriously, stay away from this place! The staff is not nice or professional, and they want you to pay out of pocket for the more expensive procedures they offer. They all need customer service classes! I should have listened to my husband when he said if there's a commercial out there it's because business is bad. I strongly feel the goal Aspen Dental has is to have you pay for services that is not covered by your dental plan. Example 37 bucks for a fluoride rinse and 74 bucks for antibiotic shot to prevent periodontal disease. And prior to having work done there is requirement of 60% of cost to work. I had three fillings, each time I went there was a different dentist. Not going back ever again, will find a different dental office that is more concern with critical work and work is performed by one dentist. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Went in for free exam & xrays so I could get a cleaning soon. Terrible attitude from the indian hygeinest woman and indian doctor. As she's 'measuring' my gums she can clearly see the discomfort she's causing but doesn't pause to ask if I'm ok, clearly annoyed by patients with anxiety at the dentist. "Dr" tells me my tooth needs to be pulled & hygeinest wants to charge $1200 to clean my teeth since she claims my gums are that bad. He wants to get right to the conversation about the money for the tooth pull and how can am I going to afford it without dental insurance? Went to another dentist, walked in asking for an appt for a cleaning & explained what happened at Aspen, had Aspen fax over some paperwork, & scheduled an app for a normal cleaning quoted at $160. Go anywhere else! Most of my issues could have been easily remedied but like other bad reviews weren't because of the black haired receptionist (I believe her name is Raina but she wouldn't identify herself). They don't allow negative reviews on their website so you have to go to yelp or google. After having 2 teeth extracted my prescriptions were never sent to the pharmacy and my sutures came out within 4 hours. I contacted the office and was told instantly without a pause to check, they would try to send them through and the dentist was busy and would call me back, he didn't. I contacted them again at the end of the day and was told the same, and again wasn't contacted. I called again the minute they opened the next day and again, too busy. When I asked how he could be too busy the moment they opened Raina went back and forth between "he's just getting in, and "he's in the middle of surgery". When I asked how this was possible the minute they opened she told me "not to get an attitude with her". I insisted on speaking with him and was finally put on hold and talked to him. He said come right in. When I arrived I told Raina that I didn't appreciate they way I was talked to, and never got my prescription, at which point she became confrontational, and said she had no idea who I had talked to 30 minutes prior. When I pointed out that there were only 3 receptionists, she then told me that I could not raise my voice or complain about my service in their office or I would be removed! The dentist called me in and the receptionist followed me to the exam room, without scrubs or washing her hands (disgusting), and stood over me continuing to provoke me until I asked her to leave(she came back 30 seconds later, and I had to ask again!) Not exactly a healing environment. Most of the workers their are nice to your face, but the fact that so many reviews mention her specifically and no one there cares enough to do anything about it shows their total lack of concern for your health and experience. They close at 1 on Fridays, and completely on the weekends, so you have to go the ER if you have a problem then. I HAVE SINCE FOUND A DENTIST 1 MILE AWAY THAT CHARGES 1/4 OF THE PRICE, AND IS KIND AND FRIENDLY. I have nothing but regret for my stupidity of going here. My son and I were horsing around when I ended up getting kneed to the chin, breaking my tooth. In a huge amount of pain, I was relieved when Aspen Dental was able to see me the next day. They took x-rays that night and explained to me that a root canal would be my best option then cap the tooth. Again, I was relieved when they said they could get me in the next day! I woke up with my face completely swollen, the dentist did not prescribe me an antibiotic even thought I told him how much pain I was in. He did give me a low grade pain reliever that did absolutely nothing. I went in for my appointment and that's when A DIFFERENT dentist told me that she wouldn't be able to work on me today because of the infection and my x-rays showed my canal was curved. "The x-rays that were taken last night? Why didn't the dentist last night tell me there might be a problem because of my curved canal?" The female dentist refused to say anything about that and then told me I would have to go to the specialist TWO WEEKS LATER! I ended up going to the ER just to get a shot so my cheek would reduce in swelling, and I am looking up a different dentist to go to. read more

My wife had some pain and I got her the appointment to Aspen dental in Amsterdam NY. During the said appointment she had her X-ray done and a dental exam. The dentist took a lot of time after the exam writing notes and afterword informed her that they will have to do a root canal, when asked about another option extraction was decided as she was not willing to have another root canal due to bad experience with a root canal that she said was done at their Albany location which resulted in permanent Puss cells. We were shortly moved to the schedule counter where the girl pulled a cost analysis on replacing the older crowns and cleaning and root canal. Apparently the reason of the visit was ignored. I brought that back into focus and informed her lets start with extraction and cleaning. We were asked to pay 60% off what the insurance will not cover before a schedule can be made. We payed 100% of both the cleaning and extraction. Once we were given the itemized cost I asked why it was so high and she informed me that it was due to extensive cleaning, my kids have the same cleaning done every six months and the insurance covers 100% of it. As we further looked into the bill we realized that they have added a oral B electric brush. I asked why first I was told that it was below the $ 179.00 that the stores were charging then upon more probing she said it was a prescription. If it was a prescription why were we not given the option to buy it from them and or from outside?. The more we thought about it more it felt that they are padding the bill, they are more concerned about having a steady stream of income . I have started the process of reporting these issues to the office of professional discipline NY, AG's office NY and NY state dental Licensing board. read more

Operated more like dirty car dealership than a customer service establishment. A few members of the staff are ok, but both of the dentists that I have experienced here have the used car salesman vibe with sub-par bedside manner. I had a root-canal procedure done between this location and the Aspen in Niskayuna. They botched the procedure which after 2 months I ended up with the most intense pain you can imagine. Aspen gave me a re-treatment, which did take away the pain. However, I was told that my tooth had a temporary fill and that I would have to come back in one year time to get it permanently filled. When I went to Aspen a year later as recommended to get the permanent filling, I saw another dentist who told me that I already had a permanent filling. So now I'm stuck with what amounts to about 4000$ out of my own pocket for half a tooth that constantly collects food. I'm afraid to push this issue any further at this location because I get charged over 120$ every time I so much as walk through the door. I highly recommend going somewhere else, you deserve much better! read more

The experience at Aspen Dental was HORRIBLE from the start. I called to schedule a teeth cleaning and exam and get that all set up. They call me the evening before my appointment and tell me they can't actually do the cleaning, just the x-rays and exam by the Dr. because the hygenist is now unavailable. I agree to keep the appointment because I have been having all over tooth pain all week. I walk into the office several minutes early, fill out the paperwork. They are unable to find my insurance information, and they also claim they have no record of this in the system from my previous visit (odd?). The x-ray technician takes me in for routine x-rays. I ask her to remind me when the last time I had x-rays done was, she has no idea and looks it up in the system, tells me two years ago. I ask her how frequently routine x-rays are recommended, she has no idea, leaves to ask the dentist. When she returns, she says yes two years, but my insurance won't allow full mouth x-rays at this time, that I will need to come in for another visit for full x-rays, that she is just taking preliminary x-rays now (this is extremely odd because I was just told they can't even find my insurance information!). She takes me into a room where I wait for an hour and a half for the dentist! He finally walks into the office with an assistant, clearly hassled and being short and rude to the assistant. He proceeds to examine my teeth, says nothing. While examining my teeth an assistant walks in and confirms that they still can't find my insurance information, but not to worry because this appointment will only cost $19.99 if I don't provide the insurance information. Another assistant walks in and has a conversation with the dentist about telling some other woman who is 15 minutes late to just stay home. The dentist is extremely rude and unkind to the assistant which makes me very uncomfortable. He finishes with my exam and I have to ASK him what the issues seem to be, he remarks, "you have cavities all over." (very unprofessional). He then leads me out of the office and takes me to the check-out counter where they proceed to tell me I owe $200 plus for the visit. A total waste of multiple hours of my life, I will never go back to this office. read more
