Wish I'd read the reviews before booking online. I showed up promptly for my appointment right on time, using vacation time to do so. I received an email from the company stating that my appointment was confirmed and that I would receive scheduled service at noon today. It's noon. There's nobody at the office and the door is locked. A couple other patients with appointments also encountered the locked door. Confirming an appointment and then not being open at the confirmed time without contacting the patient to let them know is unforgivable. A company that cannot get the basics right certainly cannot be trusted to get the sophisticated work of dental care right. I recommend saving yourself time and frustration. Their web site is also offline (see photo); this feels more like a fly by night operation and I think I dodged a bullet after reading the reviews. First thing I'd like to say is I wish I had followed the advice of those that gave honest one star reviews and chose a different dentist. On a scale of 1-10 I rate them a "0". I booked an emergency appointment due to being in severe pain. I waited 45minutes after arrival to be seen. Unknown to me I had to do a "new patient" exam and my pain and concern wouldn't be resolved at my emergency appointment. A complete waste of time. The office feels like the 1980's & lacks the presence of modern sanitation precautions. For example, the x-ray cover up that they lay on you was filthy and worn out and the exam room was dirty and the chair didn't have any type of plastic on it. In every room I felt like I came behind the next persons germs. Also the office was very dim the exam room was dim and no extra light was used during my physical exam with the doctor. It took 30 min just for x-rays because the initial assistant assigned to me was so inexperienced she didn't know how to place the plates in my mouth and acted like she was scared to touch ppl so another assistant had to take over. That second assistant entered the room without even speaking and carried a nice nasty attitude throughout my visit as if she was irritated. Dr. Bautista is very inexperienced, lacks beside manners, empathy, and the skill set to address all dentistry issues with the best possible care. Instead of focusing on resolving my pain - once she confirmed the source was a root canal she focused on a cleaning instead of focusing on at least repairing my filing on the opposite side so that I can not have pain on that side. She is concerned about making the max dollar off every patient. She insisted on doing a full cleaning before my root canal & fillings instead of just doing a localized cleaning of the area that needed the work and scheduling a cleaning for after the holes in my teeth were sealed. Crazy thing about it she wasn't even doing the work to fix my issue but wanted to put me in more pain with a cleaning on a mouth with the nerve exposed. Shame on her! After I refused she got angry and rude. Made a scene tellling her staff she'd make an exception to only provide services that I need but I'm the only patient she's doing that for. Told them to add a localized cleaning instead of a full one. It was at that moment I fully lost trust in the doctor & in Aspens ability to service my needs. I put my coat on and got up outta there while the assistant was typing on the computer like Madea in Diary of a Mad Black Woman. This place was the worst dental office experience I've ever had. They need to know that attitude matters, it's not always what you say but rather how you say it, when ppl are in pain the worst thing you can do is leave the pain unaddressed &/or to cause more pain, and lastly an emergency dentist visit is just that and patients should leave with the emergency resolve just the same as going to the perfect room at a hospital! An emergency visit is not for a comprehensive exam but to address the tooth or teeth that's cause pain & to FIX IT! If patients want an exam they'll book it. Shame on y'all for being so piss poor! About 10 years ago, didn't have insurance, I went in because I thought I was losing a filling. They did X-rays and than examined my teeth. what I thought was a bad filling was excess tarter. THan they told me I had 4 cavities that needed filling. they said they could help with financing. I left and didn't schedule. I went there for just a cleaning. They said I needed a different type of cleaning (I was okay with) when I sat down to look at what I would owe it was over 2k. They added a ton of stuff to the bill. Including my wisdom teeth pulled. I never paid it ...the next day I called the office and got transferred to the corporation office where I spoke to a different lady and she told me they added extras on there like a $200 tooth brush.... I just needed my teeth cleaned! Nothing else. Every where else was booked out so I got the cleaning and only paid $70 ish compared to the 2k they were trying to have me do.. Aspen Dental what a Nightmare. Unless you like wasting your time, this is your place. I made an appointment got a barrage of text messages and emails, confirmed my appointment at least four times twice online and twice by phone. I left work early to make my appointment get a message on my way saying they needed to reschedule acting like I hadn't confirmed yet. Hit the clinic I made my appointment at and confirmed several times only to be told that my appointment was at another location which I would have never scheduled, not by a long shot and couldn't be seen. VERY unprofessional! Went here the beginning of the year for Invisaligns for 1 tooth to be fixed. First appt I was told I would only have 9 weeks worth of trays. Got home looked in the box I had 12 weeks worth of trays. Completed the 12 weeks and my front tooth was still not as I wanted. Had to come back to get an additional 7 weeks worth of trays. So In total of 19 weeks worth of trays to push ONEEEE tooth back to align with my other front tooth. Aspen Called me and told me I had a past due bill- they billed me for the refinement when they weren't supposed to. (That was taken care of) I had to also get 6 fillings. 2 at one appointment and another 4 at another appt. All for a month or so later for 1 of the clear caps to come off. Now I have to deal with being poked in the gums all over again which is very painful btw. I've paid a total of 5,100 OUT OF POCKET. No insurance. For this to be one of the most difficult/ misinformed experiences I've ever had with a dental office. read more

I wish I had read reviews before I went to Aspen Dental on Capital ave in Brookfield. What a terrible experience they weren't even honest about most things. I'm 74 years old and got an upper denture from them. I thought after 15 years or so of my original one it was about time. The first set about eight months and so after I received them I felt a slight crack in the roof of my mouth they were shot! Of course they blamed the crack on me. They made up some crap about the way my bite actually caused it! REALLY !!! Didn't they design them according to my actual bite in the first place? So they made me pay another $250 to get another denture even though they already had the 3-D pattern. All they had to do was put in the program and spend about 50 cents on plastic. Now my second denture hasn't even lasted as long as the the first pair. So now I don't know what to do?!? Should I just give up and go somewhere count my loses and go where I will be treated properly and receive the product I originally paid for or should I return and battle them for another one? I went to Aspen hoping they could save a tooth that broke. not only did they not save the tooth, they wrote up a complete care plan including upper dentures. I get very stressed during dental appointments. a tech took my blood pressure and it was 170/120. dentist never commented on that. I asked if I would be put under anesthesia but they don't do that. at this point my stress level is going thru the roof. the next person I had to talk to was the money person. she showed me my detailed care plan and I had to put $7,000 down. remember, I only went in for a chipped tooth. will not go back. have sent them emails demanding the balance of my money back. total silence on their part. my stress level is crazy right now. Avoid this place like the plague! I go to another dental clinic, where I got a temporary crown a week before Christmas 2024. On Christmas Eve the temporary crown started to fall off. My dentists office was closed until Jan 2, 2025, so I went to Aspen to have a dentist there reattach it on Dec 26. Huge mistake! They gave me a ton of x-rays, which they insisted I needed. Then they left me sitting in the chair exam for a long time. Instead of the dentist coming in, the hygienist came in. She was very authoritarian, disrespectful, & unfriendly. She immediately told me I needed a deep cleaning. I just had a cleaning 3 weeks ago at my dentists office & I told her so. Then she said I had so much bone loss, I needed a deep cleaning & she was surprised my dental office didn't tell me that. I said I've been getting my teeth cleaned every 6 months for many years. None of the other hygienists told me that. I take very good care of my teeth. I don't have periodontal disease or gingivitis, yet she wanted to subject me to this painful & expensive procedure. I told her I floss everyday. She said, "that isn't good enough." I said, "I'm in my 60's. Maybe that's why I have "bone loss" issues." She then said, "Oh, no there are people in their 90's with less bone loss than you." Then she hinted I have osteoporosis. I see my Internal medicine doctor every year for a complete physical. I don't have osteoporosis. She said "we're going to have to keep an eye on this" when I told her I just had a teeth cleaning. I think of my dentists & doctors as part of my care team, where we work together. I refuse to go to someone who acts like my teeth & body is something they own. There are a lot of dentists in this area. I don't have to put up with being treated this way. Btw, the dentist was a nice young man. I bet he's a new dentist. He reattached the crown, but he said it would fall off again. I believe he did his best, but the crown did fall off a day later. I bet that dentist doesn't stay at Aspen for long. I've had great success at Aspen Dental Brookfield, WI. I do always verify my insurance and procedures before accepting a charge with all my healthcare professionals. Is Aspen program dentistry? They are a franchise and this one is owned by a capable dentist and the main dentist at this location is fantastic. Aspen Dental Brookfield has state of the art equipment. Sometimes they are training new employees, but the doctor is very professional, and patient, when she trains, and doesn't compromise the patient. Every patient needs to be their own advocate. Do not, I repeat, do not go here for any services! To begin, I hadn't been to the dentist in eight years. I chose Aspen Dental because it was close to work. I went for my first visit, and was very surprised that I had no cavities. When I came back for my cleaning six months later, big surprise they found multiple cavities. Over the years they have tried to sell me products I didn't need. For example, they try to sell me a mouthguard to use at night for $1500 when I could easily buy one at Walmart for much cheaper. I had to have a root canal and a crown on a lower tooth. I went in to get the temporary crown and a mold for the permanent crown. Add an appointment that should've taking an hour took three hours. At one point they dropped the temporary crown on the floor. Instead of making a new one, they cleaned it and put it back in my mouth. Most recently I wanted to have my teeth clean and x-rays done. They didn't have time for my x-ray so I had to book another appointment. At that appointment they took x-rays and couldn't determine which tooth was causing the issue. They tried nothing to find out what was going on and wanted to send me to another business that could've cost thousands of dollars. This was more than enough to make me decide to leave. Even prior to my appointment, I was as advised that my appointment was at 2:30. I called back to verify my time and was then told, come now because no matter what, you're going to wait about an hour or longer. why advise me of an appointed time and then say we're backed up for an hour or two?! Then, I was informed most likely the dentist will only do an assessment and I was informed the "call center " overbooked the location. When it came time to pay my bill, they told me THEY DON'T ACCEPT CARE CREDIT. Now I have to see a new dentist and pay both bills because they LIED TO ME about accepting Care Credit. 2. Front desk personnel are rude and act like they don't have time for you and your questions. 3. I was getting an implant done and needed dentures while healing for the implant placement. The dentures are absolute garbage quality and broke less than 3 weeks after I started using it. Got it fixed and a different part of it broke 5 months later. If I could leave a negative number I would. People are rude, they charge too much, and don't help their patients. My BF had all his top teeth pulled (when only half needed to be pulled). Then gave no pain meds, no direction for after care, and no support. This happened two weeks ago and he has bone/tooth fragments coming out of his gums. His denchers don't fit right and they won't fix them. And his top jaw he has no feeling. After the surgery they told us as we were walking out that they had to charge us an extra hundred dollars... which ended up being almost an extra $400. This place is such a joke. There's a reason they have so many appointments available! So many things wrong, but I don't want to make it too long. I scheduled it for me and my family within a 1-hour difference. Show up, they only took 1 out of 3 of us, but they said only 2 of us even had the appointments, but I have an email confirmation for the 3rd person. One of us was paying out of pocket and they were the only person taken. If you delve further, Aspen Dental has very bad reviews and only care about the money, more than others. My family and I have been going to this Aspen for the last couple of years. Even since our first experience with the receptionist and front desk personnel, we weren't impressed with the friendliness or even the professionalism. I do appreciate that every time we've gone the hygienists have been authentically nice, friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable. They're great. The dentist we saw was pleasant, perhaps superficially, but affable nonetheless. Visits leave my family with a figurative bad taste in our mouths because of the poor interaction with the receptionist and the impression that Aspen repeatedly tries to up-sale us on services and charge for services that we neither request nor receive. Beware that meeting with the sales manager entails of, mostly, a sales pitch reminiscent of a car dealership salesman. Those meetings left us feeling yucky. In fact, my family faithfully and regularly used to attend our 6 month dental appointments but have trailed off in these last couple years because this location is our provider and unsavory. Here's how my visit on August 23, 2013 went: Walked in behind another client. I waited patiently behind him as he signed in on the clipboard placed on the front desk where the receptionist, Amy, was sitting. As the man in front of me finished, and I began to sign in, I noticed she made no effort to break eye contact with the computer monitor in front of her or even mutter any sort of greeting or acknowledgement that we were there and standing directly in front of her. I had a seat and waited a few minutes before she called my name and had me walk up to the desk. She flatly stated that I owed a balance of $37 for a fluoride treatment while implying she wanted payment immediately. Caught off guard, I tried calling my mom to see if she could've been possibly referring to a previous visit or if fluoride was even desirable. Unable to reach mom, I concluded that Amy was referring to a charge for the current day's visit. I decided against the fluoride treatment and informed Amy. I was soon called back. My sister, who was there with me, walked up to the desk to confirm that I would not be receiving the treatment, that nothing was owed from a previous visit, and that I did not incur a charge. Snidely, Amy told her that it was noted in my chart. A few days ago, I received a bill for the same fluoride treatment I declined. The phone conversation, again with Amy, was unpleasant and she seemed to not believe that I was unjustly charged until she got my file and saw for herself. It was condescending. I wish they understood that the experience at the front desk makes the first and last impressions, and their impressions are poor. That being said, we won't be returning this location or going to any other Aspen Dental because of the business model. Bottom line: they seem very oriented towards getting money out of patients. First off, my roommate recommended Aspen Dental. I am not a fan of corporate medical businesses. Their main concern would always be money and not the patient's needs. I have not been to the dentist in a while..quite a few years -- blame it on my lack of health insurance. So when I finally got insurance, I went to get a complete check-up. My first (and last) visit to Aspen Dental consisted of x-ray photos taken of my mouth and applying for a credit card. The "dentist" (a bit young to be a dentist) looked at my x-rays and took a look at my mouth and said I needed periodontal gum therapy for ALL FOUR QUADRANTS of my mouth. Granted I haven't been to the dentist since high school, I didn't think I took bad care of my teeth. The worst I was expecting was maybe a few cavities and a deep cleanse. He proceeded to usher me into the "business office" and the "office manager" promptly drafted up a breakdown of my consultation and the cost needed to get everything done. I was looking at a $2,149.00 treatment plan!!!!! This is the first time I had gone to the dentist without my mom (shows you how long ago I was at the dentist!) and I figured this is just protocol. The sales..I mean "office" manager gave me some spiel about breaking down the cost into affordable monthly payments. WOW! I thought they were so nice! Who could afford to cough up $2,000 for dental treatments? Somehow somewhere I signed myself up for "CareCredit"?? I had no idea what it was and I blame my roommate for not telling me ahead of time that Aspen Dental gives this sales pitch to everyone!! I signed on a dotted line and was handed a pile of papers explaining how "beneficial" CareCredit was -- no interest for the first 18 months with affordable monthly payments of $48 for the entire procedure (which included the periodontal, cleaning and wisdom tooth extraction). Honestly, I am not one to sign up for things on the spot but the office manager made it seem like THIS IS A NEED, A MUST HAVE -- that he's doing ME a favor-- WOW I feel duped. Call me naive but Aspen Dental should not be selling us a scam! Long story short--I went to a periodontal SPECIALIST in Wauwatosa for a second opinion. I do not need periodontal therapy for ANY QUADRANTS!! Take that, Aspen Dental! It's just absurd to me that a medical office would try to make money off their patients by selling periodontal therapy to every one of them! My first visit did not even involve the "doctor" measuring the space between my gum and tooth (which tells you if you need periodontal)... Honestly - if you are looking for a dentist, don't go to ASPEN DENTAL. They will take your money before they even look at your teeth! They are business-minded, not patient minded. I am having big dental decay & severe pain, after a long wait of 2 & 1/2 weeks finally I got the appointment today (6/16/2015) @ 7PM. I was very happy that finally I could get rid of the decayed tooth and/or start the treatment for the pain relief. However, to my horror when I reached the clinic (@ 06:55 PM) I get a rude response from the lady sitting at the front desk, she said that we are closing now, when asked why, she said due to some issue they have cancelled all the appointments, I was at least expecting as a courtsey some apology & I should have been notified by you about the cancellation of the appointment well in advanced, I came home early from the office cancelled my important office meetings, drove 10 miles from home to Aspen Dental Clinic and I get such a response, it has caused me a lot of mental pain on top of my dental pain. I should have given zero stars. I went here three years ago. They wouldn't clean my teeth till the took a bunch of X-rays and made me watch a video for selling me a cancer screen. Then before they would clean my teeth the dentist came in and poked around in my mouth and said you have 11 cavities. I'll have the salesperson come in and run through the costs with you. They were exorbitant. I said I would like a copy of my X-rays please. I'll go to my old dentist out of town. Since I was there six months ago with no cavities. X-ray printer is broken. Well, my experience at this location was nice. The receptionist was nice as well as the dentist. I've visited once before and like it, so I wanted to continue with Aspen. Well---needless to say, my last visit will be my LAST visit. I came in to get my teeth cleaned. Afterwards, the dentist informed me that I had TWO cavities and that I needed to make arrangements to come in an get them filled. I was surprised to hear about cavities when I don't eat sugary stuff hardly ever, and I never had two cavities in my childhood total, and I know I ate candy as a kid. When I was whisked away to the 'financial' person, something just didn't sit right with me. She sounded like a salesperson when explaining how soon I needed to come in and get the fillings. I left there feeling so uneasy I decided not to go with their recommendation and seek a second opinion. Glad I did. I went to another dentist--never told them about the supposed 'cavities' and guess what? This dentist congratulated me on my healthy teeth and reported NO cavities. So I'm trying to figure out where did the two cavities go? Did they heal themselves? I am more than disappointed to realize that a dental office wants to intentionally cheat people. I've got a mouth full of dental work and have worked with MANY orthodontists, oral surgeons, dentists and hygienists over the last 30 years. The entire team at this location has consistently gone above and beyond in every aspect of my care. The front desk reps are always cheerful and helpful, the patient care coordinators are extremely knowledgeable and proactive and the dentists and hygienists are gentle and kind. During every procedure, I've been made comfortable, had the process explained before or during and have had excellent results. My previous dentists used outdated methods and technology and were very aggressive when performing work. The total opposite is true of this team and I value their commitment to providing such excellent care. I'm honestly stunned to see so many negative reviews here as I have not had a single personal experience that has made me even the tiniest bit unhappy. I had my first trip to Aspen Dental today and was not happy with my service at all! The ladies up front were very nice and professional however I had to wait about 20 minutes past my appointment time. I was then taken back and had my x Rays done. That took at least 15 minutes. I was then taken back to a dirty exam area, where I sat there in silence while the women entered all my information. 20 minutes later a very young "dental hygienist" came into the room and proceeded to measure my gum pockets. She then stated that my gums are not in the best shape... I've never had an issue with swollen gums before so I wasn't sure where she was getting that information. Then she said the Dentist would be right in. ANOTHER 20 minutes later the dentist came in, and said that I had all these cavities and that a crown I had done a few years ago needed to be replaced... Now I know all about teeth and the gums. I do dentals on animals a few times a week. I saw just a few cavities that I had but no other issues. She then brought in some financial guy to tell me about my treatment plan. After he entered all the charges to have my fillings done it came out to $2,400. Are you kidding me?! My crown didn't even cost that much. He said that I would have to come up with 60% of that at the time of the appointment. I told him there was no way that was possible. He then said there are 3rd party lenders I can look into for a payment plan. I told him that I was not getting a loan to pay for fillings. What a joke!!! Wow. I wish I would've read and trusted the majority of reviews on this location of Aspen Dental before wasting 2+ years as a client here. The reception staff has time and again needed to cancel, reschedule or just flat out can't find (deletes) my appointments when I have clear email confirmations as proof of the appointment I've made 6 mths earlier. I specifically chose Aspen Dental because of their available 'late hours' so I wouldn't have to take off work in the day to make it to a cleaning or appointment but as it turns out, this location only has one hygienist currently (according to the receptionist) so they continually try to reschedule or move your appointment to an earlier time in the day to fit their staffing schedule. My recent appointment for Dec 11 was cancelled by their staff, and the next available appointment they said they could find for me is now May 30th! 5 mths wait for a cleaning that they cancelled and I had booked for 6 mths already? The lack of profesionalism and/or training at the front desk is clear- they don't seem to know how to look up times, book and keep appointments efficiently. The dentist and hygenist here are pretty nice but I can't handle the constant confusion and mix ups with simply booking an appointment. They're also kind of pushy in your first few appointments with trying to sell you things and make you watch a mouth cancer screening video as well. This may be an Aspen Dental corporate thing though so I'm not sure if it's just done at this location or not. read more

This place is Terrible...avoid this place like the plaque ...After getting my first upper denture made here, the two front teeth feel out while eating, within a week of each other. I asked, if they would make me a new denture because I certainly didn't feel comfortable with the workmanship. So, they agreed, I was happy, then the second pair was made...they looked great, the fit wasn't as good as the first denture so Aspen told me they would do a soft line and made an appointment for a hardline in 2 weeks....in the meantime while chewing with my second upper denture is was cutting that little piece of skin under my upper lip, so I called Aspen and told them that I wanted to pick up my first denture they made because it was more comfortable for chewing, until I could get back in for my appointment to have the second denture adjusted properly.....so Aspen Dental in the meantime took my new denture and through it out....They told me they don't keep anything there....I said, not even my newly made denture that they just made for me? Aspen said that because I picked up the first denture that they threw out my second denture they just made.....I couldn't believe they were that irresponsible and unprofessional to assume I was going to keep the first denture knowing 2 teeth fell out within a few weeks of wearing them...after I made it VERY CLEAR that this was just until they could adjust my newly made denture to make it comfortable, instead they threw them in the garage.....Who does that? They have terrible communication skills there and obviously didn't listen to the conversation...telling them this was just until my other denture was adjusted because I did have an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks...Aspen called to make sure I was coming in for my denture two days before my appointment and confirmed it with them twice..once online and once by phone...Aspen dental lost my denture and just don't want to own up to it....that's what I truly believe. This was my first experience with a fast food approach to Dentistry. I had no idea i would need to work with a used car salesman just to get my teeth cleaned. Based on a change in insurance I needed to find a new dentist with limited options. I chose Aspen Dental based on the proximity to my office. When I called to make an appointment for a cleaning I was told that I needed a full dental exam first, as I was a new patient. I was given a date almost a month out and I asked multiple times to schedule the cleaning at the same time so I wouldn't have to wait so long. I was told that this was not possible and I couldn't make the cleaning appointment until I came in for my exam. I should have known better. Exam day finally came and I must say I was completely comfortable with the receptionist, x ray technician, hygienist and dentist, except that while I was waiting for the hygienist they showed me a video of a girl who died from oral cancer at 27 and they tried to sell me some cancer test for $70. I asked if my insurance covered it and they had no idea. The moment I declined, off went the video. Once I was done with the dentist who told me I had one cavity and a cracked tooth from many years ago I was told it was time to see Dave. I had no idea who Dave was, since I had just seen the dentist. Now came the sales pitch. Dave was apparently the office manager, although I never saw any type of credentials displaying Dave's qualifications. Dave was definitely the closer, no dental experience I'm sure. So I sit down and Dave says "So I see you have a cavity and that cracked tooth, what would you say if I told you we could take care of those today?" He actually said that. I told Dave that I was sorry but just needed to get back to work and only needed to schedule that cleaning. Dave said sure, our next available date is in August, hello, this is May. I then explained to Dave how unhappy I was that this was a complete waste of my time and if they are booked out so far why wouldn't they hire a another hygienist, Dave's response: "We only have one dentist too." He then proceeded to tell me about the honesty and integrity they promote in the office and when I told him about the runaround I got when I made the appointment Dave said, "well that's just the call center". Absolutely ridiculous, my first and hopefully very last interaction with chain store dentistry. I got back to work, found a non fast food dentist in like 15 minutes and made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. The appointment is in two weeks, and the only reason it took that long was because I now need to wait ten days for Cigna to change my dentist in the system. I have been going to Aspen Dental since my dentist retired a few years ago. I was never really impressed but kept going as it was convenient and I don't have any dental issues. On Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 I has my worst dental experience ever. I received several reminders via text and e-mail so made sure I showed up on time. It was during my lunch hour. I had to wait 20 minutes and the hygienist was very slow and wouldn't stop talking. She would ask me personal questions while working in my mouth and of course I couldn't talk. Then she poked the inside of my lip with a tool. It finally feels better today. I didn't say anything as I just wanted to get out of there. What bothers me the most about this facility is they never have the same staff. I don't know if it's an employee retention issue or staff travels to multiple locations but it does not feel personal at all. I'm talking about receptionists, hygienists and dentists.
