4 stars because as a general rule I hate the dentist, as I think most people do. The staff was friendly and never one time made me feel bad about myself or anything of the sort. (I grind my teeth and clench my jaw in my sleep which has caused 2 of my back teeth to break) I set up a whole plan before I left to fix everything, teeth cleaning, cavities and repairing one broken tooth and the other being a wisdom tooth having it pulled, along with having a wisdom tooth surgically removed seeing as its growing in sideways. I'll start with when I called to make my appointment..your call goes to something like a 1-800 number and they deal with your booking an appointment. The lady I talked to was very friendly and made sure to get me an appointment that worked with my work schedule and didn't conflict with me picking up my son from daycare. Everyone was so nice and made me feel welcome. They were polite and explained everything they were going to do before it was done. Everything was thoroughly explained to me and then I was asked if I had any questions. I didn't feel rushed and never once was made to feel stupid if I had any questions. The office manager, Chris, which also deals with the financial side of your visit was amazing! He was nice and polite and very down to earth, but professional at the same time. We talked about our children because we both have boys. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed about the whole upcoming procedures which will take place in early December. One thing I loved about this place which is a rare find in Clarksville is that they conduct oral surgery in house, whereas other places you get a referral for an oral surgeon. They also offer financial aid and payment plans! Aspen dental changed the way I feel about a dentist office and although I'm not exactly looking forward to my procedure I'm not completely dreading it either. read more

So over this place, my coworker went here and recommended I try it. Since then nothing but red flags. The one star is for the good customer service voices but otherwise this place would be a zero. - I went in for an xray which should have been covered by my insurance and supposedly was. Then I put a down payment for some cavity work to be done a month later. Only to find out when I came in for the cavity work that my insurance supposedly didn't cover anything and they used my down payment for that appt. to pay off the first visit without telling me anything. The sketchy part, my coworker said they also tried charging him saying insurance didn't cover his x ray but thankfully he waited a little and saw that it did in fact cover. - skip to a few months ahead, I rebooked the appointment for cleaning and cavity, since I didn't have the money to do it last visit. As I went in to book the appointment and go over option plans it was shown my insurance actually did cover the appointment. What happened to the money for my down payment/ x rays- they couldn't give a clear answer to. Saying that it still went to paying off the X-rays but showing that insurance covered it and I got some of the down payment put back in my account?????? -I need the work done so I tried writing this off as a fluke but after making an appointment for early July I got a call saying we need to reschedule due to a worker needing the day off. Soonest I could get in was August. I work two full time jobs so I had to take the day off but was able to make it work. - come two hours before my August appointment they tell me my appointment had to be canceled again due to the dentist being sick. Earliest they could do was September first. January if I moved my cleaning appointment too. Needless to say I'm over it entirely, I don't know what's happening with my money/ insurance, when I could actually be seen, and now I'm out of a day of work for no reason. I can't even speak on the care quality because I haven't even been given the care. I've just been waiting and played with for the past four months. I get dentist are human too and things do come up but having to reschedule months out back to back on top of sketchy billing is to much. This place has a low rate for a reason. read more

I was a patient at this location for about 6 months in which I needed a complete set of dentures I got my complete set as promised and was very happy about getting my needs fulfilled Shortly I had some issues with and some of things that are vital with the dentures started to fail and I reached out to Aspen, I received the care I needed and after a period of time the parts needed to replaced and was told that I had to pay for replacement which was going to cost close to 1000.00 I thought it horrible that these little o rings (4) would cost so much and expressed my displeasure to them I then had to wait for them to order them in which they said they would do them for free Next go to my appointment and they could not find my appointment on the schedule originally but then they wanted me to take my denture out in the lobby which I did Then they did not want to seat me in a chair in the back away from the lobby but eventually did after I requested it Then they changed the o rings for me and they said I request such o rings that I had before which were weakest in strength, I disagreed and said that they did that on their own 2 weeks later I got a letter in the mail telling me was not able to go to them any more with NO explanation of what was the reason I think their transparency is not their best attribute as they are all about money and not the care of their clients I closing it is really hard to find any reliable dental offices any where read more

An update to bring attention to their sketchy billing. I recently received a bill for new charges and balance!!!! After X-rays, exam, and evaluation it was determined that my teeth are perfect. I paid my copay and agreed to get a 6 month cleaning and nothing extra. There was no paraffin wax for my hands, bluetooth music, or movie of choice to watch during my cleaning like at modern dental offices. I didn't get a filling, deep cleaning, extraction, or complained of tooth pain so, why was I billed $393 of new charges with current balance of $243? I called AD to get clarification about this bill. I was told that they don't have a billing department but the front desk representatives can assist. The lady attempted to explain but couldn't answer any of my questions that reflected on the Explanation of Benefits. 20 minutes later she mentioned that she will resubmit the claims the insurance company. I called my Dental insurance company who stated that AD attempted to maximize benefit by billing for services that aren't covered by insurance such as; a complete Series of Radiographic Images that should be done every 5 years or when experiencing pain and a topical varnishing fluoride. Two unnecessary services I didn't need or agreed to. AD did receive payment of $99 for the approved 6 month cleaning from insurance on top of my $50 copay. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend or continue to patronize a business who does not know how to properly bill and add unnecessary charges for a preventive treatments. Lesson learned. read more

NO STAR REVIEW!!!! Worst dental experience ever!!! They could never get a good fit. One day I sat through 4 attempts to get an impression that worked, Lol...never fit right. I ordered top of the line dentures...they never fit after several adjustments. My dentures popped out every time I tried to eat. I downsized to the second tier, and four of the teeth fell out, and now the roof of the denture broke while eating an egg sandwich. Terrible quality!!! The office manager is quite clueless as well, and lies to your face. They specialize in in double talk, and take advantage of senior citizens. They were so friendly and helpful at first. I had teeth pulled so I could be fitted for an upper denture. At $167 a tooth you'd think he would have done I better job. I was forever picking out shards of teeth. One time had to go back and have one tooth picked, painfully, by a dentist. I chose the top of the line denture. Really? I'd hate to see the bottom of the line. I asked several times to see an example of a top of the line denture. No dice. WHY can't I see one? After all this time it doesn't fit. After a couple hours wearing it I need to take it out it is so painful. I have to Uber or Lyft to get to them and it quite expensive. $50 round trip now. I'll make it short. I asked to have a new lower partial dentures made. My old one broke. The doctor told me that he would not make the denture unless I had 2 root cannels done. I told him that I was getting implants done in a year. He did not care. So I said goodbye. As I was leaving I was told that I had to pay for my x-rays. If I could give it zero stars I would. Worse experience ever with any dentist office. Had a bridge that came off and all I requested was to have new cement for temporary fix. Dentist pulled it off then abruptly left telling me the assistant would put it back with new cement. She couldn't do it correctly after pressing it down with new cement. She then left and told me the dentist would have to do it. After about 15 minutes he came back and started yanking on it with some plier instrument which kept slipping off hitting my front teeth hard. He then managed to stab the side of my gums in the process. After finishing I told him the bridge was sitting to high in the back. He simply got up and left. So now my back molars are tapping together whenever I speak or eat. DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

Updated review: within 2 days of my visit to the "scam shack", i was able to get into another dentist, just as i suspected, i did not need a deep clean, any fillings or crowns like aspen tried to push on me, for the almost !6k that aspen wanted to charge me for unnecessary dental work, i had done at a real dentist and all i needed was just a regular cleaning. The way the employees treated me and acted like everything i needed done was an "emergency". Do your homework, or, go ahead and go to aspen and believe everything they tell you and get ripped off, had i not had the foresight to go with my gut feeling, i would be out about !6k because of their "scare tactics". Lesson learned, if it smells like skunk, then the deal stinks, and i have never smelled "skunk" as bad as i did on my visit when they tried to tell me that i needed so much work done. Do glad i listened to my gut instinct. Listen to yours too, can't go wrong when you listen to your gut and go with the feeling. read more

Booked an extraction a month in advanced. Have PTSD n fear of dentist. Told them my Dr gave me Valium they said ok as long as I had a ride . Went in the lady had me sign a form . Told me I could go ahead an take my pill Took me to the back . Dentist comes in looks in my mouth for no longer then 1 minute and says " You sure you don't want a crown?". When I said no she said she didn't have time Charged me $99 with my insurance and sent me away . Why would after I called 4 times in one month talking about an extraction and that's what my appointment was for would they let me drug myself up ... I was so high I couldn't do anything but get my dad to take me home . It took a lot for me to go and do that and that's how I was treated . I feel like this is the McDonald's of dentistry. I wish I had been more thorough when reading the reviews before booking an appointment here. I have had really bad past experiences with dental offices and now have really bad anxiety surrounding them. I recently moved from Texas and had a phenomenal dentist there and had hopes that the overall bedside manner in dental offices had improved over the years but I was proved wrong after coming to Aspen. When the hygienist did her initial examine, she was very rough (I've had a deep cleaning done and even when my gums were swollen and tender the hygienist I had before didn't hurt me at all), at one point when she poked me I subconsciously yanked back and said that it hurt to which she responded in a condescending voice, "you have to tell me when it hurts" (yes, I know, that's exactly what I was doing). That triggered my anxiety and then when the dentist came in (I can't even tell you his name because he never introduced himself) he was very condescending as well and abrasive. Despite being there for my broken tooth, he immediately started talking about my other tooth I have a big cavity in and saying that one in addition to my broken one need to be pulled. The dentist I was seeing in Texas just a COUPLE MONTHS PRIOR NEVER mentioned pulling my tooth. I don't know why a dentist would ever advocate for pulling teeth before trying to save them unless they want money from putting in a dental implant (which he recommended) because is at least thee times the amount of money a root canal+crown is. When I shook my head no to pulling the tooth that wasn't broken, the dentist said, "you can say no, that's fine" (yes I'm aware I can say no, that's my mouth and my tooth). Then he proceeded to say, "I was informed you refused for the hygienist to perform a full exam." The comment felt like he was scolding me like a child which triggered my anxiety again because I was scolded a lot at dental offices back when they used to blame cavities on not brushing enough and I started crying. This is 2022 and not having healthcare professionals trained to, at the very least, have good bedside manner and treat their patients with dignity and respect is in my opinion, unexcusable. I need a lot of expensive work done and aside from the $19 I wasted there to be demeaned, blamed, and attacked, they will not see another penny of my hard earned money. But I do like to give credit when credit is due even when I have had a bad experience... the front office girl that checked me in and the dental assistant were very sweet and friendly. I could tell the DA felt bad when I started crying and tried to make the rest of my visit a positive experience which I very much appreciated and was grateful for. The front desk people are very rude, they couldn't run my insurance right and couldn't call up my insurance (do their job). So with that being said they took me out of my room and ended up putting me back in the waiting room after being there for a hour and a half. This was by far the worst I've been treated at any doctor or dentist office and I even made this appointment 4 days prior and spent 15 mins on the phone with my insurance and they said it should pull up for them. I went with her and when they presented a plan to address the issues they claimed needed attention I made it very clear that I wanted to pay while I was there so my wife would not have that hassle with that on future visits. I honestly can't believe how many good reviews there are on here. This has got to be the worst dental experience I have ever seen. My husband was a new patient there and they did a great job at working him in however after we paid upfront and it was time for the to get the work done they made him wait 2 hours which didn't bother him because he took off work to get this done. When he went back the dentist poked a hole through the top of my husbands lip. They did not tell him or anything. On top of that they assured us that they would send his meds to our pharmacy when we drove an hour back to our home and stopped to get the meds the had never called it in... and stated that they are not allowed to do that. We drove back up there an hour each way and had to wait 20 min in the lobby for the RX and then another 2 hours at Walgreens. Of course by this time my husband is in so much pain he is literally sick. We called and the office manager stated for us to write up a email of what exactly happened along with the pictures we have as well and the owner would call us back. THEY WILL NEVER CALL YOU BACK THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY Yesterday my husband demanded that they see him as he is still a week later in just as much pain. They took him back spent 15 min with him then took him in a room and said they have to let him go as a client!!!!! Why because you messed up a injured someone and you don't want to own up to your mistakes. Now we are out the money from them and they used my husband insurance on top of what we paid. I originally thought the experience at Aspen Dental was good. I need (a had come loose)& able to get an appointment quickly on July 15 2021. I had no other dental needs but to have this crown put in place. I was offered a new patient introductory package of X RAYS/Exam/& Cleaning for $19. They said they could not do any other work without doing these things 1st so I accepted this offer. The staff & service were good ,I provided my insurance information & I paid in full (on-that day)a total of $178 to cover the deductible & the portion of the charge the billing manager said would not be covered by insurance for X-rays /exam/and cleaning PLUS REINSERTING THE EXISTING CROWN. I DID NOT NEED A NEW CROWN OR NEED ANY OTHER DENTAL WORK Yesterday I got an email from thought daughter, who got a notice of collection from Aspen Dental for $19 for service from that day. I had NEVER received a statement by mail or by email in the 6 Months since I had the dental visit so I was NOT AWARE of the additional money owed because MY INSURANCE DID NOT COVER ALL THE CHARGES THE ACCOUNT MANAGER THOUGH IT WOULD. Keep in mind#1 it had been 6 months since the visit #2 I had not been contacted either by mail, email or phone #3 the bill Aspen Dental said they sent to my daughter's address in July was never received by her &#4 NO OTHER ATTEMPT WAS EVER MADE TO CONTACT ME FOR THIS CHARGE. Plus they charged me for all other services which were only supposed to be $19. WHEN I CONTACTED THEM THIS MORNING THEY SAID THEY DID SEND A STATEMENT IN JULY (WHICH NO ONE EVER RECEIVED)AND IT IS NOT THEIR POLICY TO FOLLOW UP ON ANY CHARGES OWED. I paid the $19 owed after this convoluted explanation then contacted the collection agency BECAUSE ASPEN DENTAL SAID IT WAS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO UP DATE AND CORRECT ANY INCORRECT INFORMATION So to all PLEASE BEWARE Aspen Dental is not a responsible provider. Remember that first and foremost, this is a corporation. Corporations will always value profit over your personal care. It is the stock holders that hold them to this standard. That being said, let me explain my experience with this dentist. The staff here is very friendly, so I gave them a star. Unfortunately, their hands are tied by their higher HQ. They constantly hit me with high prices and charge me for errors that are made by the dentists. Their chosen method to surprise me and my wife is as follows: 1. Make me pay up front for what was scheduled 2. Numb me all up in preparation 3. Have someone come back to tell me that they actually need to do more than expected 4. Having a stupid numb face, I can't show my anger 5. Failing to understand my Aetna insurance plan, causing me to pay more than I actually needed to 6. Putting a "credit" back into my profile for later visits 7. Huge kudos to Dr. Bukins and Aspen Dental for helping my disabled wife today. She lost her teeth because of a disease called Lupus. Last night she broke a front tooth on her upper dentures and was distaught. Crying about her appearance and her disease she was very upset. I told her that Aspen did dentures and had fixed my bridge when it broke. I called this morning and was told to bring her in right away. Two hours later she left with her beautiful smile intact. I would even give this place one star. I would give it zero if possible! It has nothing to do with the dentist or the dental tech they were great! It's the front office staff, the office manger and how they handle payments and stuff. I have now been suffering gum disease and a tooth infection that is going into my system because I could not pay $756 to get a much needed procedure done to get my teeth cleaned and get the bacteria under control! I did not qualify for there payment plans that require good credit to get and they wouldn't do any other type of payment arrangement!!! This all took place on December 4th. I called them back on Dec 26th because things had gotten much worse trying to see if the dentist or them could do anything for me!
