I needed a dentist and I was referred to SFD by a friend. I went in for a cleaning in July and in August I was back in the chair with an abscessed tooth. I was told that it would need a root canal. I have had dental work (root canal, caps, bridges, etc.) since I was 15 yrs old. I was not wanting to get the root canal due to previous experience, I wanted the teeth pulled. There was a bridge place that I had on for over 20 years due to a root canal and I did not want to go through that again. With several days of convincing I put my trust in the dentist to do the root canal and a new bridge. New bridge got put on in Oct. two weeks later I was back in the chair due to a broke bridge. After 6 hours in the chair, over half of that time grinding the bridge off in pain because the several numbing shots did not numb one of the teeth. The dentist acted as if he just wanted to get the bridge off (cause there was no reason for the bridge to break) and was getting frustrated every time he had to stop because of me being in pain. In Dec. the second bridge was placed, the assistant was the one that did the first slight adjustment the dentist came in and made what adjustments he wanted before placing the bridge (didn't see him but 10 mins at the most). After weeks of being uncomfortable with the tooth that I say was "traumatized" during the procedure of removing the cracked crown, I was back in the dentist office thinking the crown was cracked again (I was wrong).
When speaking to the office manager and letting her know how I felt about the product "that it was crap" she stated in a way that it was my fault that the crown cracked. I told her that I had two bridges set on the same day over 20 years ago and never once stepped back into the dentist office due to problems with the crowns. After 20 years, you would think someone would know what "not" to do with bridges. Got called back to the see the dentist, he was telling me " the tooth may have to have a root canal due to the type of discomfort I was having", after that news knowing there was more work and another bill I left the office upset. While I was leaving he stated he would refer me to an Endodontist. I went back to the office to get the referral and as I was waiting on the manager to give me the referral letter one of the other ladies that work there came out to see if I needed anything. She then stated to me that "She was sorry that things didn't go my way". Recently I had the appointment with the Endodontist, he told me that the crown was not properly made and that it is not a crown that "they" like to see put on teeth. The crown was made, set, and it is not protecting the teeth the way it should. I now have a faulty crown that may cause problems in the future, which may result in having to have the teeth pulled anyway and if the adjustments that he made did not work then the tooth would need a root canal. This procedure has cost me a few thousands of dollars plus a trip to the Endodontist. With another bill looming for what he has to do to fix the problem that the SDF caused.
I received the EOB from the insurance company that SDF submitted, it was a thousand dollars more than what they told me the procedure was going to cost. From a few other reviews that I have read they have blamed the patient for what has went wrong with the procedures they have done and when it comes to money they charge you more than what was quoted. read more
