If you saw their prices online and booked an appointment, read this before you go. Do not be fooled by the $499 per arch basic denture pricing. Do not be fooled by the payment plans. If you think you can walk into this business and actually pay those advertised prices, they have already fooled you. This is a large, multi-million dollar corporation, and their business practices reflect that. I went in. I paid the $29 new patient promo fee. I made it explicitly clear that I wanted one thing: a top partial or a full top denture. That's it. No cleaning. No filling. No root canal. Nothing else. Just a top denture. They knew this. They agreed to it. So imagine my surprise when I was taken back to the office manager's desk to go over costs. That alone was a red flag. Have you ever bought a car? Do you remember being led back to the finance office while a salesperson sat across from you at a desk covered in paperwork? That is exactly what this felt like. For a denture. The woman across from me was pleasant enough. I'll give her that. I was genuinely impressed by her ability to keep a straight face when she told me, out loud, that I'd only owe $19,000. That is not a typo. Nineteen thousand dollars. For a $499 per arch denture. I audibly gasped. Then I calmly rolled my chair back, thanked her, and told her to have a nice day. She stopped me. "We could take something off here. This includes the root canal." What root canal? I never requested one. I never agreed to one. It was never discussed. She removed it. The new total: $13,000. I have the itemized printout and will show it to anyone who asks. So not only is $13,000 absurd, but they were apparently charging $6,000 for a root canal I didn't ask for, didn't need, and never consented to. It also listed 29 separate office visits. Twenty-nine. For a single top denture. I went through the itemized list line by line. I can say with confidence this is not a treatment plan tailored to me or my care. It reads like a template they run on everyone and hope no one questions. I'm questioning it. Ninety percent of what was on that list was never discussed with the dentist, never agreed to, and not applicable to my situation. And I was never given a choice of denture tier. They supposedly offer Basic, Classic, Standard, and Premium options. I wanted Basic. What appeared on my itemized list, without my knowledge or input, was Standard at $1,920. No one asked me. I was not in the room when that decision was apparently made. I will not be doing business with this company. If you choose to go, bring someone with you to the finance discussion. You will need to be assertive. This is a high-pressure sales environment operating behind the appearance of a dental office. And to Aspen Dental directly: do not respond to this with your copy-paste damage control comment. There is nothing to investigate and no customer service team to escalate this to. I went in for what I believed was a chipped tooth. I left being told I needed a full treatment plan involving extraction of three wisdom teeth, anesthesia, time off work for recovery, and I was required to pay $1,338 up front before any procedure was done. The treatment was presented as urgent and necessary, and the experience felt rushed and high pressure rather than cautious or exploratory. Something didn't sit right, so I sought a second opinion. That second opinion completely contradicted what I was told by Aspen. I was informed I do NOT need three wisdom teeth extracted at all. The only issue identified was a minor filling on a single tooth. The difference is not minor, it's thousands of dollars, major surgery vs. a routine filling, and significant time off work that would have been completely unnecessary! It is extremely concerning to go in for a suspected chipped tooth and leave being told I need major oral surgery, only to find out later that none of it was actually needed. Further, I have only received a partial refund for the surgery I was required to pay for up front!! My daughter has been seen at this office twice. Our first visit was generally satisfactory, and we were provided with a treatment estimate. However, when I attempted to schedule the recommended treatment, I was surprised to learn that the full balance had to be paid before an appointment could even be scheduled. While I understand that offices have payment policies, it seemed unusual given that treatment plans can sometimes change once the procedure begins. At a later date, I called to schedule my daughter's treatment and was given an updated amount due. I specifically confirmed the balance twice during the call, and my daughter's other parent also verified the amount separately. In total, we received the same quoted balance three different times. Based on those confirmations, I paid the balance and scheduled the appointment. On the day of the procedure, I received a phone call just ten minutes before my daughter's appointment informing me that an additional copay was required because the office had "forgotten" to include it previously. At the time, I was in a meeting, and my daughter's other parent was already taking her to the appointment. I questioned why this additional charge was only being communicated minutes before the scheduled treatment, and I was simply told that they had forgotten. I asked how the office could reasonably expect a patient to pay an unexpected balance after confirming the amount multiple times and paying it in full. I also asked what would happen if a family did not have the additional funds available on such short notice. The response I received was, "We would reschedule you." I found both the answer and the manner in which it was delivered to be dismissive and unprofessional. I requested that a supervisor contact me immediately. I was told I would receive a call within 15 minutes, but no one ever followed up. Ultimately, I paid the unexpected charge so my daughter's treatment would not be delayed, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service left a lasting impression. Respectful and transparent communication with patients is essential. Mistakes can happen, but how they are handled makes all the difference. In this situation, the office should have taken responsibility rather than placing the burden on the patient. Many families cannot absorb unexpected costs with only a few minutes' notice, and forcing them to choose between paying an unforeseen fee or postponing their child's treatment is simply unacceptable. Aspen Dental Beavercreek put crowns on my molars in summer 2025. one of them came off Friday afternoon and I immediately called them and left a voicemail about it and ask they call back ASAP. didn't call back until Monday at 10:30 am with 1st available on Wednesday at 10 am. I explained to them what happened and that I didn't have the crown, along with being painful to eat. Went in today, they took an xray of the molar. Dentist came in took a look, asked if I had the crown, explained that I didn't, asked when it came off, told him Friday. He stated he needed to talk with the head dentist, Dr Shaw. 10 minutes later, the assistant manager came in and said since a previous dentist had done the work, I would need to go to that location, as the dentist had moved. Asked why I wasn't informed Monday when I called, as the other office is 35 minutes (compared to 10). Assistant manager said the office staff doesn't know this info. i said that was inexcusable as all the info is in my file. there Was no apology from any of them. This has been among the worst experience of any organization in my life time let along a dental organization I have ever experienced. I scheduled my first available urgent at 8am on 4/3 to whom I my insurance search said it was a Dentist/ Endodontist by the name of Vasudha Basava. I didn't find out it was an Aspen Dental until I arrived. Later that day the Aspen Dental Regional Manager by the name of Adrienne Taylor sent me an email inquiring how my visit was so I am going to summarize what I wrote: "I wish to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent visit. When I scheduled the appointment, I clearly stated it was an emergency due to one or two broken teeth. Despite arriving early, sending x-rays from my dentist with a plan, and completing paperwork ahead of time, I waited past my appointment time. I was then subjected to an excessive number of x-rays--far beyond what was necessary for the issue I described, which was isolated to the lower right molars. The process was physically painful and not requested. After repeating my concerns to multiple staff members, the dentist briefly examined me and mentioned prescribing antibiotics and pain relief. However, this was never followed through. I was later taken to another room where I was presented with a $15,000 treatment plan, despite having Aetna insurance. Many charges seemed inflated or unnecessary, including multiple cleanings that should be covered. I asked just to pull a tooth, and/or fix the back tooth with a new root canal and crown. She said it could not be split up that way and there was only two package options. I emphasized the need to prioritize the most painful issue and requested the prescriptions be sent to my pharmacy. They could not accommodate and unfortunately, the antibiotics and pain medication were never called in. I spent the weekend in severe pain, relying on over-the-counter remedies just to function. This experience was unacceptable. I still have broken teeth, ongoing pain, and no resolution. If my insurance was charged for the x-rays, I request electronic copies be sent to me for potential use with another provider. I also ask that the promised prescriptions be fulfilled immediately. I then got my x-rays and later a anti-biotic prescription but nothing for the pain as promised. I called twice, left a message & sent several emails. She never called back & I find out later the emails were deleted without even being read! I went ahead and called and schedule the earliest available at their Beavercreek location. The admin or dental assistance by the name of Sandra was rude, condescending & actually argued with me. Saying they can't due what the other Aspen dentist had down, and was going to pull a perfectly good tooth. I informed her I am looking at my actual x-rays. She still raised her voice and argued with me. I said I would see them as I need something done today. She said she nor the dentist/endodontist can promise anything today. I informed her that is why I entered it as an emergency in the system. I had to have my fiance drive me due to the pain I was in, and the pain medication I needed to take just to be able to talk and focus. I get there, and I am told I owe a back balance of $120. I had not back balance, my insurance paid for the x-rays then Sandra comes in raising her voice, that fee is to be paid to just be seen. I informed her that is impossible, I have insurance, all is covered, and I never have to pay anything to be seen. I didn't at the other Aspen Dental in Miamisburg either, and this is an urgent emergency. She said you are going to pay $120, or you are not going to be seen, and I already called Adrienna. The level of poor service, blatant disrespect, and rudeness is shocking. I left, with my fiance, and will never go to any Aspen Dental. Obviously never recommend them to anyone! Absolutely horrible service, no empathy, lack of follow-up and follow thru by leadership. BEWARE and chose anyone else. By the way I have all of this documented and even witnessed. They cancelled my appointment in December last minute and said they couldn't re-schedule me for 10 MONTHS there!! What!? So they offered me to go to the Centerville location and I did to get it done on my day off. The ladies in that office were less than friendly, but that's for another rant! A month or so later I get a paper bill for $195 for some comprehensive exam that I NEVER ASKED FOR!!! My appointment should have been a routine cleaning, the only thing I've ever scheduled for every 6 months. I call and talk to Michael about the bill and he says they didn't run insurance so he would work on that and I could call back in a couple weeks. SO, a little over 2 weeks later, today, I get a call about a balance again. I call back and Anita tells me I have a balance of OVER $500!!! Before my visit I was unable to get in contact with anyone in the office after scheduling the appointment. I showed up to my appointment and they denied me, because their phones were down the afternoon prior and couldn't confirm my appointment I made less than 12 hours before. The receptionist was incredibly rude, and just gave me a blank stare. They never once offered to reschedule my appointment and just kept repeating that she wasn't in yesterday when the phones were down. Initially I was super impressed with them. They said I had that periodontal disease! It scared the crap out of me. But assured me they would take good care of me and fix my problem. I was so vulnerable at the time because my dad had recently passed away. So I signed up with their Dental First plan and got the gamut of x-rays, initial gum treatment. etc. and it came to about $3k. But I thought that was for the ENTIRE plan ~ which would cover several visits/treatments. Come to find out several months later (after they kept rescheduling my appts at the last minute) that most of that was for the first visit! There's no way they did 3 thousand dollars worth of work in one visit!' Now keep in mind, I did go back and have more treatments done. But they seemed to charge me each time. I can be a little slow on the uptake, and I really wasn't putting 2 and 2 together. But on my last visit, when they said it was going to be $500 and I said, "aren't you taking it out of the $3k?" They said no, it's for THIS visit and you have to pay it up front." I said no, we're done here. I went home and stopped going back. I cannot say enough how much you should steer clear of this establishment. And it is a shame, because the assistant who took my x-rays and the dentist who did my evaluation were actually quite pleasant and thorough. The first issue was the wait times. For a simple checkup I spent at least two hours just sitting in the chair between being seen by different people. Then, when I was told about my treatment plan, it included a gamut of various treatments I didn't ask for. I specifically asked for the free cleaning my insurance covered and nothing more. Oral cancer screening, floride treatment, a $200 toothbrush...and they wanted it all paid up front before I came in for me cleaning in another appointment...WTF?! I have never had to come back for a cleaning after the checkup at any dentist I've been to my entire life. I did return since I was already vested, and the hygenist continued to foist the expensive treatments on me. I specifically asked for just the preventative free cleaning my insurance covered and she refused! If you value your time and money and think the opinion of the patient should carry gravity when discussing their own care, I suggest you steer clear of this money grubbing, profit before patient establishment, or any of their chain locations for that matter. I have wasted too much time and money already. Let my lesson learned be your caveat. UPDATE 5/10/18: I am glad I got a second opinion. I have been a patient on Miamiisburg Centerville Road as well as Troy for extractions...I was treated at Miamisburg Centerville Road like I was the lowest class of people on earth..They were total snobs no matter how I tried to communicate with them! In Troy it was even worse because I had 2 back extractions and the dentist and her associate talked cruelly to my because I couldn't keep my tongue down."you better keep your tongue down or you are going to get burned, do you hear me!?!" There were particles going down my throat and I was choking on them!!! I have NEVER been so humiliated like that by any medical professional..which they are not!!! Also, the assistant was arguing with me about my diabetes and that my AIC (which it 6) was too high and I'm not managing my diabetes like I should!!! She talked to me like I was a stupid child! After 20 minutes I let it go because she was determined to be right and I was just plain ignorant!!! My insurance company has assured me that I will have coverage for dentures in 2020. So today I called them and they informed me I have to be reinstated as a new patient because it has been more than 6 months since my last visit! This includes a new visit and new x-rays!!! Just another way to use up my insurance and not get dentures!!! I am very disappointed with Aspen Dental and will not return to this company and abused by the staff, humiliated, and taken advantage of!!! Don't believe their phony commercials... they are GREEDY and don't give a damn about their patients...please check other reviews!!!! I am a single senior citizen and I think they abused me more than give me decent care!!! I love this Place. Dr Head and Her assitant Mikah are two awesome people. Dr Head is a very gentle she is very caring and listens to what your saying. Not only is she a great dentist she will go out of her way to work with your needs. I have had extensive work done. New top denture fits like a glove a extraction, new lower partial still have to wait a bit for that. Zoom whiting awesome and some cavities filled. Mikah always has a smile on her face when she works with you makes you feel very as ease She is super. The one thing that has kept me from giving this review a full 5 star is. You can tell this is corporate owned way over booked and the dentists just cant keep up with the corporate scheduling. You can imagine with all the work I have had done I have logged several hours there. I have seen these people work through lunches several times have seen all these same people work way past closing time, one time it was with me so its a known fact. I own a small business a piece of advise to the corporate big wigs its now always about the dollars your going to lose good dentists and workers and I have also seen customers walk out the door that you never got the chance to service because way over extending the staff and people waiting hour hourand half past appointment time. I had a botched root canal that I wanted pulled out desperately. It was causing a lot of pain, dizziness, etc. Jessica was wonderful and so sweet. I don't remember the dentist name, but she understood why I wanted it pulled even though she though I should get it retreated. She agreed to my wishes and got it out in one piece.
