Office staff is very nice! DDS, not so much. Although there are many dentists listed at this address loxlly, only one is actually still practicitng. More importantly, be aware that this chain is known for pushing full dentures over other options. When they did it at my appointment, I check online national reviews and found many lawsuits and poor BBB ratings. read more

UF parent writing this review after my gator's horrific experience here. We had read the bad reviews but couldn't find any other local place with appointments available that accepted our plan. We thought, "how bad can it be? Upselling isn't so bad, my Gator is confident and we will just say no to extra services". We just need a cleaning and one cavity filled (found by dentist at home but Gator had to go back to school next day so couldn't get it filled at home dentist). BIG REGRET! we are just glad the experience is over and won't be back. Only go here if you literally have no other choice and then, go ready to decline all the upselling and steel yourself to the barrage of nasty attitudes and fear tactics and constantly changing treatment plan. I did not like my last experience and the last cleaning I had to put my own Topical Fluoride Varnish at home as the dentist gave me an option as if she wasn't suppose to do that there?? They also do not tell you if a Dentist is in network or not. I will not be returning ever again. read more

I gree with Kereisha L., -5 stars! I initially went here because doctor was listed as an active preferred provider with my insurance. But no, I was refused service as a new patient. So, I joined Aspen Dental across town (who then could not get me in for a dental emergency when I broke my tooth.). I was told to go and try this office again as I was now "A Nation-Wide Aspen Dental Patient." But no, I was still refused emergency care even though the doctor listed as a preferred provider was still there. Aspen Dental says they offer same day treatment for emergencies. Both offices refused to see me at all. Don't trust anything they say. IMO, they play a lot of back-office billing games to get more money out of you. read more

giant uninterested corporate entity, designed to grind people through the mill like a product. first to book an appointment, you call a centralized location that has no idea or interest in checking the location hours of the local office. then the appointment will be rescheduled at the last minute. when trying to book the appointment on the phone, they won't allow you to book in for a procedure.they won't even discuss it...you will be palmed off ,and told to discuss it with the receptionist. when you get to your appoint the disinterested condescending receptionist will refuse to discuss it either,you are told to discuss it with the dental assistant....you have now entered the production line. you fill out your info,and go with the tech who immediately takes you to the next step of the production line.they will refuse to discuss the needs of your appointment in any way and palm you off to ask the Dr. you aren't allowed to refuse xrays,or request that they be done in the problem area....the employees keep repeating the script to you condescendingly and laughingly tell you to get a refund and go somewhere else. To be clear, I would have taken xrays if the issue was going to be addressed that i came in for, but when i finally managed to pin down the tech on whether i could do the relatively simple procedure today....i was told "no you can come back on Monday" I can't come back on Monday, like most adults I work full time. I didn't want to pay money, waste my morning and get xrays,only to have to repeat the whole thing pointlessly at another dental office At this point the tech who was clearly very high with red glassy eyes got tired of me and said he is bringing the Dr. I told him there is no point if you are all going to keep repeating the same corporate phrases. The Dr came by anyway (i was still in the xray chair)and said the same phrases,and I asked him if he would be able to do the procedure today....he looked uncomfortable and vaguely said he was kind of busy. I don't blame the employees entirely, they are subject to this machine too. Clearly there is a script and a procedure to channel all patients through a whole process without being allowed to give definitive answers.Once you have spent all you time and money at this point, sunk cost fallacy kicks in and they hit you with the next appointment and bills. Since I came home after getting a refund and leaving, several neighbors have told me horror stories about this dental office.having teeth pulled that could be fixed, being told they have to wait 6 months for an appointment,4k filling. I am glad i listened to my intuition here and have an appointment at a mom and pop dentist next weekend where they will be bothered to treat me like a human read more

I took my 86-yo here after the Newberry Rd. branch switched her appt. to this new branch, without telling us. When we got here they said they don't take her insurance "at this branch." But they did at the other branch that switched her. So we haven't even gotten to see a dentist yet, and it took 6 online and phone call attempts 6 weeks ago, just to be switched around. If and when we see the dentist, we'll edit this fairly. read more

Bait and switch! Was in the chair when asked if a second procedure was wanted since the Dr had time, I asked for a price of which they provided and I agreed, upon check out the price tripled and I was not allowed to rev the edit with staff. now that I've researched other reviewers this seems to be the norm, beware the bait and switch. read more

I had appointments for my daughter and myself. They took x-rays and wasted our time with a dental plan but did not clean our teeth. I have never had a dental appointment where they did nothing but look at my teeth and not clean them. It was a joke. read more

Stay away, rude receptionists and trying to call into is terrible. This location is known to the chain as having rude people there, the person I spoke to hung up on me. I am doubting that they even have an office manager. If I wanted patients, I would fire the lot and start again. I know it is hard finding people to work, but you have a staff that is driving customers away from this location. I will drive 15 minutes down the road or go anywhere else. read more

Before you sign up with Aspen, check out the "Stop Aspen Dental" group on Facebook--18,600 members! All horror stories. Besides the lousy up-sale care many patients endured, Aspe uses fraudulent methods in changing your bill after the service is provided, overcharging by the thousands$ and charging for unwanted or non-provided services. Aspen in Butler Plaza, Gainesville, FL charged me almost $9,000 *a year afer my bill was paid in full*, claiming original bill was just an "estimate." WTF? You will see many similar stories on the FB group page. Read these negative reviews here and keep in mind, the rare positive reviews read like they were written by employees. You've been warned. read more

They charged you for things you stated you didn't want. When they request an approval from the insurance based on the insurance they miss things so the estimate is not the accurate one. read more

Still the same , after few weeks of asking for a receipt , finally calling the billing department they sent it to us and then realized that they did different things that the estimate billing said . Also never got the X-ray that shows my daughter cavity , they sent only the front of the X-rays and the cavity is in the posterior part. I paid $160 and I know now they probably wants to charge me what the insurance didn't cover , after my daughter told them she only a went there for pain in one tooth . They did a whole exam with X-rays when she told them she did it 3 months before and they probably knew the insurance wasn't going to cover because my daughter told them the comprehensive and cleaning is only covers every 6 months and she told them she did it in June . Very bad place . The manager told me when I call that they did all the service the estimate shown and when we ask for a bill n the bill shows different things . read more

After going to this practice I can honestly say I will never recommend this practice to anyone. I went in for my first appointment to look into getting extractions and dentures (I have bad teeth due to ongoing health issues) I got there and was took to the back had x-rays done and sat done in the chair where I would have my examination done. The dental assistant brings up my x-rays on the screen and goes and gets the dentist. The dentist comes in and examines my teeth telling me that I have to have all my teeth pulled (even the healthy teeth) and I would have to get dentures. This did not bother me as I was expecting this. What I was not expecting was the dentist accusing me of being a drug addict ( which I clearly told her I am not and I showed her proof from my PCP saying I have ongoing health issues that affect my teeth) she finally agrees that I am not a drug addict once I show her proof. Then she and the dental assistant proceed to stand in the same room as me and laugh about the health of my teeth and the smell of my breath. I endure this while waiting for the owner to come talk to me. Finally after a second review from the owner I am told the same thing that all my teeth need pulled and I need a full set of dentures. After this I am sat down in the office and told the cost of my treatment. I leave feeling horrible and self-conscious and I reluctantly agree to come back for impressions for dentures since my options with my insurance are limited. I come back for my second appointment get a third opinion about my treatment (get told the same thing) I tell the dentist who will be doing my treatment that my PCP has recommend that I only have a few teeth pulled at one time due to my health issues. He (the dentist who will perform my treatment) tells me that having only a few teeth pulled is not an option. It's either I get all my teethed pulled at once or I don't come back at all. Finally I'm allowed to go into the office to talk about my treatment final cost. I get told my insurance has a 12 month waiting period and will not cover any of the cost for my treatment. I meet my 12 month waiting period on 01/01/2023, I argue with the staff and tell them that my insurance waiting period has been met. The will not listen to me at all! They then tell me all my teeth have to be pulled on the same day (even though I explained again that due to my health issues that can not be done) after arguing for a few minutes they finally tell me I need to schedule my appointment for my treatments. I as if I could schedule the appointment at a later time because I wanted to call and talk to my insurance company myself about my waiting period, they tell me no it has to be scheduled that day. They will not let me leave until I schedule the appointment. I schedule the appointment and they then proceed to tell me I can't leave until I put a down payment of $2000 down on my appointment. I as them why I have to put a down payment on my appointment. I get told it's standard procedure and that I can't leave until I do so. I tell the office staff that I don't have $2000 to put down as down payment and ask if they can bill me for it. They told me they can't bill me for the down payment and since I don't have the income to pay it that day they will apply me for financing. I get approved for the $2000 and then after doing paperwork I am finally allowed to leave. I call my insurance immediately after leaving and I am told that my waiting period is up and that I can get this work done through my insurance being billed. I call the Aspen Dental to tell them this and they tell me that be cause it is showing in there system that my waiting period has not been met they can't bill my insurance and I would have to pay the entire cost out of pocket. I now am fighting the financial company to get my $2000 credit back so I will not be charged for an appointment that I canceled and will never be rescheduling. This place is the worse place (in my opinion) to go if you need dental work! They are scammers and the do not work with you if you have special needs such as health issues, money concerns, etc. The only good thing I can say about them is my dental assistant who did my impressions was very sweet and understanding of my health concerns. Other then that I have nothing good to say about Aspen Dental and I will be going somewhere else for my dental needs. read more
