Aspen dental is owned by private equity, and it shows. They run their office like an MLM scheme, jacking up the prices, trying to get around insurance and making you foot the bill and hope to get a refund later. Dr. Chandler Pritchett is a complete waste of money and garbage physician. I paid 1050$ plus whatever the insurance paid (around 3k) for a "C cleaning," at best. I spent less time in the chair than I would have doing a standard cleaning for 275 elsewhere, and the work was terrible. when I complained, she blamed her "temp hygeinists" then made me come back a different time when I wasalready there. when I came back the second girl spent less than 20 minutes on me and fixed almost nothing. I texted Dr. Pritchett on her personal cell number she gave me in an attempt to seem like a decent person. she promised me a refund the promptly blocked me and never responded. I have filed in small claims and look forward to embarassing her in front of a judge. she NEVER inspected my teeth herself, any time I was there, and refuses to still. i will get revenge on this piece of shit doctor in court. read more

Find a dentist that is all about the patient. Not sure why Yelp has listed this facility as closed since I went to my first appointment yesterday. I was hesitant to go to a chain type of dentist, I've always opted for private practice, but since I am new to the area, and they are too, I thought I'd give them a try, not to mention, they are literally 2 minutes from my house. The people there are professional and very nice, but they're very expensive and they do everything to get as much money from you as possible. I recently broke my tooth and have an exposed nerve. After my initial appointment, they wanted to schedule two additional appointments. One to simply clean the tooth, which was around $300 and sell me a $100 electric toothbrush, and then a second appointment to put the cap on which was gonna be $1600, and that's with insurance. Was told, after X-rays, they don't repair dentures not purchased there. I questioned the advertising and was told they tried to change it Then I was told by office the dentist, naturally recommended highest price denture I said I couldn't pay that much, no fianancing was offered. Then was told it would take about a month before new ones would be ready, questioned advertising again and was told by dentist, "your in Florida, what do you expect"? After waiting 4 weeks, finally ready and guess what..didn't fit. Had to have a reline done on new denture. They stink. The Gulf Breeze Aspen Dental. Rude, unprofessional and inept from the dentist to the office staff. No wonder they make a big effort to get the money as fast as possible. I assume they have trouble keeping patients. Seems like the dentist is hardly out of school just started working a few weeks ago. I'm not referring to her age, I"m referring to her lack of skill and her unprofessional attitude. She doesn't seem to know what she is doing. She also can't train her office stall well. First I walk in and say "I"m here for my 3PM appointment." The snarky lady behind the desk uses a scolding condensing tone and acts annoyed; as if I didn't giver her my name fast enough. Then the "dental assistant" I'm not sure of her title but she is snobby and says "again, I can't answer that question". As if I am asking her (the assistant) too many questions. Both the dentist and the assistant are bad communicators. For example, the dentist (after the first round of numbing injections which I don't know the proper name for) asks me if I"m numb. I wanted to say partially. But she didn't even wait for an answer, she just started drilling. The dentist and the assistant seemed to want to go about their business as if I was wasn't there. They didn't care if I was numb. Then the dentist can't seem to get me numb. Never did, despite all the numbing injections. 3X more than other dentists. The drilling hurt the whole time. And when I complained that the drilling hurt she got up and left me, for 20 minutes. That'll show me not to complain. Saying nothing, except "read your book." I was numb everywhere except where I should be. Then she left me in the chair, (after the 2nd extra dose of numbing injection, 3 in total) and she goes to give another exam to another patient and not tell me. While I"m sitting there alone for 20 minutes, numb everywhere except where she will be drilling!!!! From the time she started to numb me she examined at least 2 other patients, probably 3. All she was doing was re-filling a old cavity and making a cap. Numbing still worked everywhere except where she was drilling. Drilling still hurt. This made HER annoyed. (the dentist). In addition, this woman is the only dentist I know of, who leaned on my lower jaw with her hand. She said she had to or else her hand would shake. I have or had TMJ. A painful jaw. NEVER before did a dentist or any professional have to lean on my lower jaw to work on my teeth. They were in such a rush to get it done they didn't care if it hurt. The dental assistant had my lip/gum pressed against their tools and my teeth. This happens, but normally they say sorry. She just acted annoyed at me when I told her or when I moved my lip/mouth out of the way. They get upset if they have to spend one more second on my mouth even if it avoids injury or pain. They would much rather get out of the room 30 seconds sooner even if it means they hurt my mouth. Anyone else experience the dentist chit chat (over your head like they're at lunch) to the assistant while they are working on your mouth and HURTING YOU???? WOW! I heard all about how the dental assistant saw her patients at their work, how they acted, their friends father has COVID and is in the hospital, the friends mother is also in the hospital with COVID, how Aspen dental is giving her a trip and putting her in a hotel. I heard how the dental assistant is worried about the hotel room that Aspen will give her. Then when I left they were laughing hysterically. SO Professional!!!!! All that conversation was going on while the dentist was supposed to be working and while I"m in pain. Which leads me to believe the dentist doesn't know what she's doing. It would be better if they both focus on my teeth!!!! They act more like they are at a 3rd. grade party than at a dentist office. They are both immature and unprofessional. read more

The first time I went, the wait was forever, but everyone was professional the care was fine. Today, I took time off from work for a cleaning at 8am. I confirmed the cleaning via text and got the confirmation text saying thanks for confirming and we will see you then. The office didn't get the confirmation and removed me from the schedule. No one seemed to care that they screwed up and I had taken off time from work to be there. She told me "we can't see you at 8 (my appt time!!) but you can come back at 945". Seriously?!? Do you not know how time off of work/time off requests work??? Would that BS work for one of your employees??? NEVER AGAIN. Had 2 separate services done. Cleanings and wisdom teeth removal. The cleanings needed 2 appointments, the first went well and the hygienist was professional and kind. My second appointment was cancelled less than 12 hours before and was rescheduled months away when I've already paid for it in advanced. Wisdom teeth were removed 12/5/22. While waiting in the front they were telling people their appointments had to be rescheduled AFTER they had arrived with the dentist being busy in a meeting. Not professional or considerate to cancel appointments after people show up. My wisdom teeth surgery went well but my pain medication prescription was so fumbled it ruined my overall positive experience. I have a lot of allergies so I could only get the specific drug at the Walgreens in the hospital in Pensacola when I live in Navarre. They said the escript would be sent and ready in an hour but they called after my wife arrived at the pharmacy, an hour later, to say they were unable to send the script over and instead had to drive back to gulf breeze to get a paper script. The script was for the wrong dosage and my wife kept calling aspen from the pharmacy so the doctor could fix it over the phone because they'd be closed by the time she drove back to aspen. She couldn't get anyone on the phone until the 3rd try and said they'd call back. I then drove 5 hours post operation from Navarre to aspen to have to make sure they called before the pharmacy closed in 30 minutes. I went 7 total hours with no pain medication after 4 wisdom teeth were removed. The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the exceptional staff from the front desk to my competent and capable surgery team that ensured I was taken care of while at the office. Bummed it was such a fiasco after I had left and don't understand why it's so hard to get anyone on the phone if I were to have an emergency besides blitzing pain. Thank you to the staff that helped but 7 hours post major surgery with no pain medication is pretty egregious. Take the review as you will, they are affordable and kind if you're actually able to get an appointment/care. read more

My first visit was good; the staff was amazing, I went back for regular cleaning, and the office was under new management; the new management could be better. They charged me for nothing, and they said it is past due if I can put in -1000 stars, I will do it. on August 18 2020 went to Aspen dental for a filling. My wife was asked to take me to ER for subcutaneous emphysema treatment, this is when Dentist use drill to fast . The owner of Aspen dental refused to pay ER visit of $8,000.00. Had to call medical insurance Jag to get bill paid and they are going to be handling Aspen Dental. Yes the dentist made a mistake but customer care is not good . It was painful experience and I looked like I was bet up. my first visit was ok. I scheduled the appointment for extractions and dentures. I paid 12K for the whole procedure. after the money was exchanged, I found out that it was all an act. I had complications that no one in the history of dentistry (being snark) had ever heard of! I required an additional surgery. I asked at the time I scheduled the 2nd procedure that I was told that was included in my care plan. A few days before my procedure I was called and told that I owed an additional 535.$ for something that was done during my first surgery that wasn't a part of my plan. I questioned why, 3 months after my original surgery I wasn't informed of this sooner and it suddenly popped up 3 days prior to my corrective surgery. that is just 1 of my many issues with this business. I was warned not to go to Aspen but I went to them when I was in VA and never had any issues. All I can say is I should have listened to the warnings! This is the most poorly managed office I think I have ever been to. scheduled a new patient appointment for my spouse and myself in July 2022 for January 2023. We we're both sent numerous confirmation texts,emails, and calls which we confirmed all of them, but they insisted we call them and verbally confirm with them even though we already did 10 times! We each got X-rays at the first appt, saw the dentist and met the hygienist but learned we would not be getting a cleaning at this appointment, ok fine. They schedule us to come back in March. My spouses appointment was today, mine was for next Monday. I received a text last week to confirm my appointment which I did, and another today, however, I have an email from them telling me they need to reschedule. So I called, the receptionist was nice but she really didn't know what was going on so she placed me on hold to go talk to the hygienist. I was on hold so long I was pushed to the voice mail, so I called back and I was told that they overbooked and that they would have to reschedule me for SEPTEMBER, which means I will have gone 14 months without a cleaning! And the reason is that they thought they would have another hygienist by now! I was then told I could call the Pensacola or Pace office to see if I could get in there. First of all, that is 30 minutes away from where I live, secondly, if they would have better customer service, maybe they could have offered to call on my behalf since it was THEIR MISTAKE for overbooking me when they shouldn't have! I was told that there was a cancellation today and I could come at 9am. Well that would be great if I didn't work. I was told there is no cancelation list that I could be put on. Having managed medical offices for the last 8 years, I am floored by the lack of organization and customer service. Oh and the best part is that while I was being told a song and dance about how all their newer patients were having to be rescheduled out to September, my spouse was at the office getting his cleaning while I was being told I would have to reschedule for September! So I'm on the phone forever making appointments for my family to get cleanings. Get the appointments made and was told to fill out the new patient forms that are seven pages per client. Get there and the paperwork was no good because you have to do it on their tablets. Get called back and she tells me we are not getting cleanings today which is what I set our appointments up for, we have to have our teeth looked at and x-rays today then set up another appointment to have our cleaning. Ended up walking out of the office and will be going to a real dentist office. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised. I hadn't heard great things, but after two weeks of antibiotics and intense tooth pain. I could not get into the enthodontist for another three weeks, and I had gotten to the point of being unable to function. I missed my friends wedding, and more. So in desperation, I booked the appointment in the middle of the night online. But I was very pleasantly surprised. They did do Xrays, and I knew I would need a lot of work done, but I needed pain relief. So I was so relieved when they got me this afternoon, did an extraction and bone graft, so I can put in a dental implant later. I am home now, still feeling numb and loopy. But the staff was very nice, LOVED the dentist. The office was clean, high tech and I was worried how expensive it was going to be, but decided it was worth it. And it wasn't too much more expensive than my private dentist with my insurance. But I had a great experience!!! read more

Updated below: Not for me. I'm new in town so was looking for a local dentist. I found Aspen online, covered by my insurance and booked online, completin the paperwork. Then I got a text to call them with insurance info. So I called and gave them my info. The next day I get another text saying they need my insurance info. After gIving them my insurance info 3 days in a row I found out they were hand writing it and not putting in the computer. So it turns out each day the computer would see it hadn't been entered and send me a text and whoever would answer the phone would just write it down to put in later. They were too busy to put my insurance info into the computer but not too busy to ask for it and hand write it 3x. My initial visit took 2 hours and that didn't include a cleaning. About 140 minutes was waiting on people. They said they were short staffed and did apologize. At the end they came up with a list of over $2,600 in treatments even though I had just been to my previous dentist before my move who said my teeth were in great shape and to just keep up the 6 month visits. I feel like they tried to push every possible treatment even if it's not necessary. I had a second appointment for my kid. We got a confirmation call and confirmed in advance. We showed up and and they said they were overbooked and would need to reschedule. No call in advance. We had made arrangements with work, drive down and showed up before they told us they would need to reschedule. What a terrible customer experience. read more

I had a 10am appointment today 12/5/2022. Arrived 930 am. For paperwork or whatever. Front desk took my x-rays and referral and made copies! I sat back down and was told that they would be with me shortly! At 10am, time of my appointment, was told that the dentist could not see me today and would I like to re-schedule? Why would I trust them to honor another appointment? Hell no, this place has serious issues! I would not recommend Aspen to anyone, EVER ! Left furious and still in pain! Aspen could care less ! I am 68 years old and have never had an appointment cancellation at the appointment time, from any Dr. or Dentist in my life ! I have had one doctors office in the area cancel and re-schedule, but had the decency to give me notice a few weeks before my appointment ! By far the best Dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Dickinson and Jennifer (Hygienist) were totally incredible. Tabitha at the front made me feel at home. Shelley and Jennifer (Dental Assistant) was so nice. I even got to meet Chris the Lab technician. He was so kind.
