I am scared of the dentist, mostly because I used to suck at taking care of my teeth and each visit was painful. However, at this location I felt really comfortable. EVERYONE was nice. You can tell they take care of the team considering how well they treat their patients. I had to bring my son to the appointment and they were extremely understanding and helpful whenever he was being a kid hahah. I will be 100% returning and voicing my great experience. They're out of network from my insurance and I will still come here, this is an investment I am willing to make. Multiple BILLING ISSUES: I've been a patient at Atlanta West Dentistry for over five years. Initially, I was very pleased with their services the staff seemed professional, the reviews were great, and the dental work met my expectations. However, over time, I've encountered multiple ongoing billing issues that have ultimately led to my decision to leave this practice. One of the main issues involved overcharges of hundreds of dollars, primarily by front desk staff (specifically Hailey). These discrepancies were only corrected after I contested the charges using my Explanation of Benefits (EOB). While I appreciated that some credits were eventually applied to my account, these errors continued to occur raising serious concerns about accuracy and transparency. Even after addressing previous issues, the same pattern repeated. I strongly recommend that anyone receiving treatment here carefully review their EOBs and compare them to what they are being charged out-of-pocket. On one occasion, I was told I had fillings done on both tooth #2 and #5, yet I clearly remember work being done only on tooth #2. Despite voicing this, I was still billed for both. When I requested clarification, Robin attempted to explain the charges, but they still did not align with what was billed to my insurance provider. This experience has not only been frustrating but has also led me to question the integrity of some of the billing and treatment practices. It's deeply disappointing after years of being a loyal patient. As a result, I will no longer be returning to Atlanta West Dentistry, and I will be transferring the care of my entire family elsewhere. I'm also advising anyone I previously referred to this practice to check their billing statements closely or consider other options. I hope this review serves as a helpful warning for others to be vigilant and protect themselves from potential overcharges or miscommunication. Had to update my initial review because this office is trash, for multiple reasons. First I received a bill from them and they charged me for two exams. I knew it was wrong because every time I've gone to the dentist I get my normal cleaning, never had any dental complications. Then my husband got a bill for a ridiculous amount, again charged him for things he didn't have done and things the insurance only covers ever so often. I already had my next appointment so i went to get it over with before the holidays. I get there and they said the appointment was broken and they can't figure out how or why. Mind you i had left work early to come to this appointment. The office manager said come back at 4pm. My original time was 12pm. I said no, i have things to do. She then said she can get my cleaning in at 1:30 because she begged someone to work through lunch. I had a conference call at 1:30 so again i told her no i need to get it done now when i had my appointment. She had no resolution and so i walked out. This office is a scam, and unprofessional. I had recommended several friends here and i called them personally to tell them not to go. They also never followed up about the bills or a new appointment (not that i would go back anyway). read more

Can I give 6 stars? I generally avoid the dentist like the plague but Atlanta West Dentistry is a true gift to Cobb County. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is amazing. They take the time to teach you about your teeth and how to take care of them. Dr. Bowersox is the sweetest, most caring, gentle dentist I've ever had. Robin is so helpful when it comes to insurance claims. She has gone way way way above and beyond her requirement duties to assist and has never complained about it. I installed this app just to bitch at AWD. I had two wisdom teeth extracted. My insurance wouldn't cover the whole charge and I couldn't pay the full amount. So, their financial lady set me up with a care credit card which gave me a $2,000 limit but only needed to pay off 1,015. After a few months go by I finished paying off the card and thought I was done. I get a call almost a year later being informed I had late charges and it was sent to collections adding an $200 collection charge on top of $400. I had to fight and explain my situation just to get the collections charge taken off. not wanting them to affect my credit score I just said to hell with it and sent them the $400 and I hope that is the last time I hear from them. So, if you do business with this company, be ready for hidden charges if you don't pay the whole visit in full. read more

I've been here three times now so overdue for righting a review. I got their brochure in the mail YEARS ago. Their brochure alone is what made me want to give this place a try. They had a different office then, but what was said about a pain free experience is all I need. I have zero pain tolerance, so going to the dentist is always nerve racking for me. They state all over that that is what they strive for and making sure your visit is as comfortable as possible and every need met. Well, they did that and more! From the moment I made my first appointment to my first visit, it was nothing but supreme customer service! It's easy to get to, plenty of parking, office is spacious and new, friendly staff all around, state of the art equipment, and obviously Dr. Watson! He is so personable, listened to all my questions and concerns, and really took the time with me during my fist visit, and every visit since. I never feel rushed and truly cared for. When I got there for my appointment, I was greeted warmly and professionally by the receptionist and then Nicole gave me a tour of the office and talked me through every step until I got the pleasure of meeting with Dr.Bowersox. From start to finish - my experience with Atlanta West Dentistry was superb! Ashley and Robin were sweet, friendly, patient and courteous when scheduling me yesterday - even though I was quite irritable. Today, I was greeted warmly by Ashley - such a sweetheart - and even given a welcoming hug by Robin. I had very little wait time before being called back. My hygienist, Lisa, gave me a brief tour, followed by - hands down - the most thorough oral exam and cleaning that I have ever had in my entire life. Penny made check-out and rescheduling the next appointment a breeze. The only negative thing I can say is that Dr. Bowersox looks young enough to be a teenager. (All the ladies are cuties and look young - but Dr. B takes the cake!) When she walked in, I mentally rolled my eyes, because I immediately thought, "This chick is fresh out of dental school, uh-oh," - but it became immediately clear that she knows her stuff. She was knowledgeable, clearly quite skilled and confidence inspiring. Not sure what she can do about looking young . . . .hmmm . . . maybe paint some wrinkles on her face or something to put ageist patients like me at ease. Lol. But seriously . . . Angel was my dental assistant and she was fast, efficient and informative. (and as sweet as pie!) I was very nervous about my appointment and she completely calmed my nerves and answered all my questions. Lisa did my cleaning and she was SO gentle and very pleasant. She was personable and did not cut corners when it came to cleaning my teeth. Dr. B... thank you! She's very thorough and truly cares about her patients care and your overall experience. Beware of this dentist office they are not up front with their clients, they will tell you they accept your insurance but what they won't tell you is that they are not in network with insurance companies leaving you with expenses that you thought your insurance would cover.Please check with your insurance provider first before you get scammed by Robin the administrator. I have long wanted to change dentists and searched/researched several in the Marietta and West Cobb area. I chose Atlanta West and what a difference! Dr. Travis is thorough, courteous and most of all, extremely competent. The front office staff are warm and welcoming. My hygienist, Mckayli, is knowledgable, kind, and makes every visit a pleasant one. In the back office, Robin is absolutely the best. She is caring and has a handle on insurance companies and best practices. The facility is modern, spacious and clean. The restroom is spa-like. (Too many offices make the mistake of ignoring the restroom. ) Dr. Travis has headphones and TVs in all rooms. One can sit in the chair and listen to music or watch your favourite show during a procedure! There is even a "quiet room" for chilling out before or after a stressful procedure. No one tries to up-sell or push products on you. Wait times are important as most people schedule appointments during work hours. The wait times for me so far have never been more than 10 minutes. This practice uses current technology and methods for dentistry needs and was painless and efficient. Five Stars! read more

Where do I begin? My experience at Atlanta West has been amazing from the very first phone call I made to make an appointment! I was in the market for a new dentist and I remembered my co-worker raving about her new dentist. So, I decided why not give them a try. Best decision ever! I was experiencing pain with one of my teeth so I needed to be seen fairly quickly. When I called Crystal was so sweet and did her best to get me an appt to be seen as quickly as possible. She put me on the cancellation list in case someone called to cancel. Someone did and she actually called me as promised! At my first appt, I saw Dr. Joe. He was so nice and knowledgeable. He gave me options to consider regarding my treatment based upon my financial and insurance situation. I loved this! My treatment plan involved me having to return several times over a couple of months and I must say everytime the reception was the same. Awesome! Crystal and Robin always have smiles on their faces and are so pleasant at the front desk. All of the dental assistants are so sweet and friendly, especially CeCe. She makes it a point to come speak to me every time I have an appt if she is not the assistant working with the Dr. that day! Dr. Travis, one of the owners, makes it a point to meet all of the new patients which I have never experienced with previous dentists. He and Dr. Joe are both great dentists and I would feel comfortable having either work on my teeth. Not once have I ever felt like my treatment was rushed. The chairs are super comfortable and there are tv's mounted on the ceilings for you to view while work is being done. Everything is so clean and sterile and the mini waters they offer you...
