Private equity ihealthcare. They are owned by Ares Management and Leonard Green & Partners, a group notoriously known for only making choices to drive revenue while neglecting the patient experience. This location has constant turnover in staff, located in a crumbling building covered in dust from the highway. I go because I'm cheap and I know to decline everything they suggest to me. read more

They took an excessive amount of X-rays, over 25 X-rays were taken of my teeth head and jaw, I felt very uncomfortable getting all that radiation!! And then they tried to get me to get $12,000 worth of work done that I didn't need. I went to another Dentist and all I needed was one tooth extraction that cost me $180, and nothing was wrong with my teeth. Stay far away from this place. Hopefully the 25+ X-rays don't cause me any health issues in the future. They have aggressive sales people that try to get you to have work done that is not necessary. read more

Seriously... read this one.... DO NOT USE ANY ASPEN I went to Aspen dental - Bedford, NH a few years ago for a cleaning. No oral pain whatsoever. I was told I had multiple cavities and needed a crown. I was very surprised but take my oral hygiene pretty serious so scheduled the work and paid out of pocket and insurance to cover the chargers. The billing was alwayssssss changing. I'd pay an amount, then they'd say I owe more. I'd pay more then I'd still get a bill in the mail. After the crown was completed on my tooth that before hand had no other issues or pain, the tooth became infected. They told me that tooth would now have to be pulled. I was MORTIFIED. They then said the infection was so bad the tooth on each side of the one that was infected also had to be pulled. I was sobbing and sobbing in the office and ultimately decided to leave in extreme pain and bo medicine and try my luck at another office before I lost three teeth! I ended up going to the Aspen dental in Manchester. I had them pull the one tooth, did a few rounds of antibiotics and did not need to pull the other two. I came up with a treatment plan to have a bridge put in where they pulled the tooth. This work was going to be a few MORE thousand dollars so I applied for a genesis credit card. The card was approved with a balance of $3000. However, I ultimately was so scared and turned off by Aspen I decided NOT to move forward with the work. The Manchester office decided to charge my credit card $1400 for work that I NEVER RECEIVED. Now the credit card is on my credit report for $1900 for all the interest and late charges and is now closed as an unpaid derogatory mark against my credit. Christina - who used to be the regional manager, who is now just the office manager of the Manchester location was aware of my case step by step by step and assured me she was helping me. Right from the moment I called and complained about Bedford and said I needed to go to another location. She was very involved. She is the one who also sat down with me to go over the treatment plan and open the credit card for me. Right at the beginning of covid I called the Manchester office to discuss this credit card balance and Christina dodged my calls and never called back. I finally got Christina on the phone two months ago after many calls and having to threaten to just come in. After a lot of phone tag she ended up "looking into my account" and said she couldn't refund the card for the work I never got done, because all of a sudden there is a new balance I have never heard about, that needed to be corrected on my account and once they do, I will be ineligible for a refund..... Of course this makes no sense. I've paid sooooo much for the tooth I'm missing now - that again was FINE before I had my cleaning. I absolutely disagreed with this so Christina said she would refund the card and get back to me with the confirmation. And then she would send a bill for whatever charges were supposedly left over. I have not received a bill for these supposed charges. The credit card they charged FRAUDULENTLY is still on my credit report and holding me back from buying a house, and Christina, the former regional manager now office manager won't fix my account even though she has verbally agreed numerous times I never had this work done. This is pretty insane and so for that I say stay away from every single Aspen dental you can. read more

I got new dentures made and they are ill fitting and Aspen Dental (Manchester) doesn't stand by their word. When I told them the top one was too big and I couldn't eat or talk she told me but they look great. Then after I continued to complain she remade the bottom denture which wasn't the problem it was the top so I went to a different Aspen Dental Nashua) and he remade the top which fits fine but now I can't wear the bottom one because it's so loose I they don't stay in place. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

They never make you feel like your bothering them, even when you have to go back for an adjustment on your partial, like I had to do with Mia, who has been so nice and helpful and very patient. Or ask when I am ready for my final set .now that I am going to a 4 in 1 from a different dentist. I am talking to the arabic lady about my tooth (im colored too so keep your race baiting yo yourself) and she proceeds to tell me a bunch of stuff i need running up a cost, keep in mind my previous dentist as I move around (for work) never brought up any of this. I wish I had read these reviews before getting my work done. I needed a top denture and was told in April of 2022 that I would need 2 crowns and a couple extractions, a temp denture then a 6 month wait to get the permanent denture because of swelling. I paid for everything up front. I had the crowns done and I had appts over the summer to adjust the temp denture and make sure it was fitting right. Everyone there was very friendly and knew that I was excited for November to get here to finally get the permanent. When it came time to book for the permanent, I was told to come in Nov 30 for the impressions and would get permanent denture within a few days after that appt. Well, the day after making appt, I got a call saying that there is no way they can do a permanent denture unless I get 4 more crowns on the top or the denture won't work properly for me!!!??? Now they want more money and refuse to do the permanent denture unless I get these crowns??? I was so angry, I had to walk out. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I was warned a long time ago that these "chain" dentists are only out for the money and don't care about the patient. I guess it's true. read more

Almost every visit I received an additional bill after paying what I thought was my full balance. I'd call the office and they'd let me know there was a mistake. My last visit, I received another bill after the appointment and called about it after I received it. They said they would look into it but I didn't hear back. A few months later, I started getting contacted by a collection agency. When I followed up again I learned that they recommended a more expensive process that my insurance company didn't cover but they thought they did. So, their mistake, but they want me to pay for it. This place is terrible. Dentist was pulling my fathers tooth and left him bleeding all over himself without any gauze or suction. He was in excruciating pain and the woman kept asking "why are you hurting why are you in pain?!" He was treated like a lab experiment. This would have received a 5 stars had the time in the office, beginning to end, not had been so long. Time is precious to me. I was there for a new patient exam and evaluation, I was there 15 minutes early as instructed. Maybe as a new patient, this is usual, maybe a head up when I placed the call for the appointment would have give me the upfront expectations I needed. however maybe this was the reasons why it took longer than I expected. I did answer extensive questions when I called to make the appointment, so the duration of time seemed extensive to me considering I walked out 2+ hours later with NO work done. I do have a follow up, and we will see how close their expected time frame for this appointment vs the actual time for the visit will take. The staff was very friendly and explained everything they were doing. The costs were reasonable considering he work I am expected to have. The dentist, for the short time she saw me was super nice and clear in explaining and answering any questions I had. Dirty billing tactics, they try to talk you into taking a loan to pay for more expensive services. Not a medical payment plan, which does not affect your credit, but an actual loan from a private bank. When you do pay upfront at the office, and have them send the rest to your insurance, they add charges never spoken about, which get refused by insurance so they can try and sell your balance to a collections agency. Long story short, do not trust them, they are either ignorant of how to do billing at best, or criminally trying to commit insurance fraud at worst. read more

If used car sales managers ran dental clinics, it would look and feel like Aspen Dental. I cracked a tooth and lost a filling biting into a pitted prune that turned out to have a pit. My regular dentist is in Mass, but I figured I'd try a dentist closer to home in Manchester. I checked my dental plan, and found that Aspen was in network. The eval was free. They provided an estimate of around $3,000 (none of which was itemized) above and beyond my covered benefit, to pull the tooth and put in a bridge. In the process of building the bridge they planned on destroying two perfectly good teeth, one on each side of the cracked tooth. They also tried to sell me deep cleaning. Before they would schedule the work, they required a signed guarantee that I would pay any amounts not paid by my insurer. If I couldn't afford the procedure, they offered financing. My insurer is Cigna, and except for a $15 copay, I've never had to pay anything out of pocket. Rather than schedule the work with Aspen, I went to see my regular dentist. She pulled the small piece of cracked tooth. As it turned out, the majority of the tooth was intact. She capped the intact portion, and sent me on my way. My cost, the $15 copay. The work that Aspen recommended was not medically necessary. If I did not have a reliable source for a second opinion, I would have been out of pocket over $3,000. I feel bad for people who cannot afford insurance, over pay for a procedure, then find themselves on a payment plan with Aspen Dental for work that was not medically necessary in the first place. There are plenty of reputable small dentists around. Stay away from this chain. read more

Aspen Dental Clinic: Where failed life insurance and used car salespersons go to die...and run dental clinics. This establishment is interested in one thing and one thing only: making as much money as they can giving while not a passing interest to the welfare of their patients. I have insurance coverage for my family. In fact, I have excellent insurance coverage for my family. I also had an urgent dental situation with one of my sons that required oral surgery. I had taken him to Aspen a few years prior for a "consultation." The "consultation" is where a trained sales professional will sit you down and try to glean how much money they can suck out of you and your insurance company. Recently, I called to schedule an appointment for my son. I was told that the appointment for the consultation had been too long ao and I would need to scheduler another. For this they wanted to charge $120.00 with me paying cash upfront. "I have insurance," I told them. I was then informed that the fee would be $25.00. "But, you already have all the information," I told them again. This didn't matter. They still wanted to do another consultation. Uh huh. Then...and this is the fun part, I was told that in order to remove his wisdom teeth, I would have to pay $780.00 up front and then they would bill the rest to my insurance company. I explained to them that my insurance policy would cover 80% of the cost and asked them where they were gettin the $780.00 figure. They told me that I didn't understand my plan and that I was only covered 60%. Ah, no. I'm not an imbecile and I know how to read my plan's benefits. I contacted my primary dentist and told them never to recommend this clinic again, to anyone. I would advise fellow Yelpers to avoid this clinic at all costs. There are lots of local smaller dentist offices that do not operate in this predatory manner. There are also many privately owned oral surgeons that do not need to feed the hungary beast that is the bloated 100 worker-strong staff that operates at the Aspen Dental Clinic. Poor care, unfriendly people and extremely overpriced. Charged me $278 to recement a crown. They charged for the X-ray ($37) and doctor exam ($103) but, they didn't even show you the X-ray that they took or exam and cleaning off the old cement from your tooth before recement it back in. If you value your teeth, time and money please don't go to the AspenDental in Manchester. You would be better off just order the dental cement on Amazon less than $40 and do it at home. Threatened to cancel my appointment the day before if I didn't leave my work in Portsmouth immediately to go to their office to sign paperwork. Called my emergency numbers just to reschedule appointments. Never explained the surgery to me (my first surgery by the way). Tried multiple times to sneak in extra treatments and expenses that I didn't want. At one point told me I had 9 cavities which upon visiting another dentist told me I did not. No post op anything, just walked me into the hallway all drugged up and left me. I'd never been afraid of going to the dentist until going here. read more

I visited the Aspen in Manchester, Nh, Even after seeing the rating on yelp, and I must say, I have had nothing but great experiences there! The cleaning was a two part deep clean, and very very good, had to have an extraction, Which was complicated but the dentist did a fantastic job! And a couple fillings which went very very smoothl! In addition, they also do dentures, partials, and flippers, as well as implants and right in house! If you get one it's ready in like a day or two because it's done right there! I deafly give them five stars, and the staff there is just awesome, and very helpful : Ashley, Michelle, Meghan ( a Very talented dental assistant/hygienist) I was very lucky to have found Dr. Saxena, DMD, Who was by far one of the best dentist I've ever had! Don't base your decision to go there on others opinions that have never been there, They really are good and really do deserve the five stars, in my opinion! I went to Aspen in Manchester one year ago for sensitivity. They suggested I get a bridge to cover an exposed nerve that was causing the sensitivity. My bridge popped off during dinner and the tooth they attached it to is now bad. I paid over $2,000 out of pocket. I was told by the owner this is normal! The bridge I felt was not sealed properly (it hurt when I ate or drank). Now they are suggesting a root canal or to pull the tooth. When I spoke to the manager to schedule my next apt she was rude, unprofessional and down played my concerns to the point I had to say I'm not longer comfortable speaking with you. I called corporate instead. One week later I have a total refund and I get to start the process all over again with a dentist I can trust (not aspen). Don't go there, EVER! read more

So I went to aspen dental back in April for teeth cleaning. We were told the insurance we had would cover the services that Aspen dental said I needed. They tried to sell me this 'antibacterial' service for my teeth. I have never needed that while having dental work done ever, (and I had braces!). I denied having this service done. Well low and behold when the time came to pay the insurance said the aspen dental had performed dental work that was unnecessary overall! I was shocked! Currently I have to play phone tag with both of them so they will talk to each other to get this paper work done. In the end I most likely will have have to foot this bill. I do not recommend this to anyone as the person who files for insurance clearly does not do their job correctly. 1/5 do not recommend their service. Find another place for dental work. read more

They obviously do not have scheduling knowledge. I made an appointment by phone (I'm a new patient) and when I showed up today they told me there was no such appointment. I was very bothered, and she said she KNEW I didn't have an appointment because they were "cleaning up for the day." She then tells me that two weeks from now is the next available Saturday appointment and the same time is offered, 1:15pm. How do they have the same time available another day, but this day they were cleaning up at this time? How could I have possibly known to come at 1:15 and how could they have had my information when I have never been before. WAY TO GO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Being an Aspen Dental in Port Orange Fl patient for over a year was NOT a good experience. The dental hygienist is arrogant, not friendly and conducts business treating me like a school child. The X-ray technician pushed the radiation button over and over and over and over again until I finally asked her to stop pushing that radiation button then another person came in and readjusted the films in my mouth yelling at me like it was my fault they were not placed correctly. No apologies. The receptionist scheduling appts did reschedule my cleaning appt for the following month (reasons for personal financial since I don't have dental insurance I need to schedule my appts as my financial situation will allow that month to pay out of pocket) at 4 pm , I asked if they did cleanings that late and without checking said yes they do. The day before they called to change time to 12 noon and I didn't argue about the whys but I knew it was because I was right, they did not do cleanings in late afternoons but instead of apologizing or an explanation they just said they needed to change time. Then when I needed to reschedule my cleaning appt to following month again they refused by telling me they had no cleaning appts open for the next 6 months. They lost me as a patient because they need to have control over pts according to what they need not believing that every patient is in charge of their own health their own teeth and their own gums, they are not in charge of me, they lied because I do not believe they do not have any cleaning appts open for their patients for 6 months. What kind of dental office does not have appts open for 6 months for their good paying patients? I suppose they make money from dental insurance patients and not from patients that pay out of pocket. read more

Just received a collections letter in the mail today because of this office. Called them to ask what was going on as I've never received a bill. The woman tells me I was contacted in March because my address needed to be updated nothing about not being able to bill me because the address was supposedly incorrect. There is no way there should have been an issue as I was a new patient and had just filled out all the paperwork with my information; including my address! A error on their part. They need to learn to read they can't copy down an address or see they are billing someone wrong. The worst part of this phone call was when she recited what I was being billed for and it was a co-pay I had already paid the day of service! I have a receipt and she even commented that it was already Included in the cost. So they don't review anything they are billing you for. So now I have this bill in collections effecting my credit score because they are incompetent I'd also like to add that they advertise working with you to pay for the work you need done, basically breaking it down and helping you with the cost. I went to the desk to speak with a girl about the dental work I needed done and the cost. I sat there for a half hour and she couldn't answer any of my questions or help me set up appointments to slowly get the work done that I needed. I will NEVER go back. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I went, I blame pain and lack of sleep. Went in for swollen and painful gums in one area, thought maybe something was stuck, but they told me it was because there wasn't enough room for my wisdom teeth but also that I had some moderate gum disease and was going to need an aggressive treatment plan and should schedule some oral surgery immediately. This was after maybe a minute and a half of the doctor just kinda glancing at my X-rays. I held off on scheduling the surgery for the wisdom teeth because I was really taken aback by them just assuming I'd go along with that after such a quick consult (plus I'm not as familiar with my insurance as I should be but I'm almost positive that it covers more than 50% of everything....). I did schedule an "aggressive" cleaning (the first of what would be two sessions) but luckily I woke up late and missed my appointment. Upon waking up, I realized that my swollen gums had done what they were trying to do and had pushed out a chunk of popcorn kernel that had been lodged in my gum....like I initially thought. TL;DR Shady business, go to a real dental office. *Update* Since this debacle, I've been to a real dental office. I do still need to have my wisdom teeth removed, but I had a full consult with a dentist who looked at my teeth and not just the X-rays. I also have a consult with the surgeon before just diving into surgery. I had a normal cleaning and was told my teeth and gums were in great shape, no mention of gum disease. In calling aspen dental emergency line after having complications with an abscessed tooth extraction FORGET IT!!! they say they will have the doctor call you back but they NEVER do. I had to go to the ER 3 times since they extracted my abscessed tooth. all they want to do is make a fast buck and forget you until they get another sucker to fall for their incompetent services.
