First off I had an exam ,,told i needed about $2,500 worth of work done.(I went in to have a crown checked) Set me up with all kinds of charges,even a mouth guard which I don't need, there must have been anout 20 people standing around ,I asked if this was a school ?They said no they were students transferring to another place. The Dental care itself was fine. However, this review is about my experience with insurance and billing. The PV office said they took my insurance (an employer BCBS PPO). I provided all info including a complete list of my dental benefits and coverage. They seemed to be very confused about how to deal with this plan in their system. They assured me after some time on the phone with BCBS that everything was good and they took my insurance and provided my service. I eventually received a bill where they had billed my secondary insurance (which they somehow obtained and was NEVER provided to them at my visit as my primary pay 100% of services) and they expect the balance due to be paid. I've both CALLED about this, left messages, and written a letter. No response. They continue to bill me, and now robo-call me, for something I do not owe and insurance covers fully. It's not my responsibility to figure out how to bill a major national plan. If you are in-network for the PPO (which they ARE, verified repeatedly), you should know how to bill them. It is YOUR responsibility to respond to patients when they have challenges. I would not recommend this office to anyone due to their billing incompetence and complete lack of response. read more

I have had several bad experiences coming here with the office people. The front office girl was rude and not empathetic at all. I called yesterday for a emergency appointment. I made a upcoming appointment with date and time plus came in for a walk in and they never booked my appointment and couldn't take me which was fine however the front desk girl was rude and while walking away she talking about me and laughing with the other office girls. Very unprofessional and not empathetic at all. I should have gone with my gut I noticed they had a average of 2.0 rating. I am from out of town and we travel full time. I was having some pretty bad tooth pain where I had a crown placed in the last year and I was able to get into Aspen the same day after calling all over several places in other towns trying to get an appointment. I saw Dr. Park and he was very kind and thorough and explained to me that I needed a root canal and that we could get it scheduled as soon as there was an available time slot. I was super fortunate to only have to wait 5 days to have the procedure done and Dr. Snee was very knowledgeable about the procedure as well as was available after hours when I experienced a little more pain due to it being complicated root canal procedure. We travel full time and I would highly recommend this Aspen to anyone else who needs a regular dentist or travels like we do and has an emergency. The doctor is pulled in so many directions by the time you see him you've been sitting in the office for 2 hours. Initial x-ray and exam was ok. However, dentist recommended pulling 6 teeth, partial plates and 2 crowns. $11,000.00 With 1 exception, those 6 teeth are working fine, not decade and not loose. Asked to have the 1 loose tooth extracted and was told it would be 6 weeks out. The one loose tooth took care of itself. (fell out) Opted for cleaning schedule. We are SO pleased to have found Aspen Dental, here in Prescott Valley, AZ! After many sports injuries, a couple of car accidents, & a few years of dental deteriorating medications, my teeth were no longer sustainable. A few decades of untold expense in repairing & maintaining my teeth, it became inevitable that I would need to have a more permanent solution. For me, this included full mouth extractions, dental implants that will eventually support my permanent dentures, & a set of "healing dentures" for the initial approximate six month healing period. Every single staff member I have encountered at this location have been amazing, starting with my very first conversation with Joie, who assisted me with the financial end of things. Joie was incredibly patient with my questions & concerns, & I was able to pay up front for the entire process~ which was around 10k, in total. This included the oral surgeon (Dr. Andreason- gifted beyond words!), anesthia for surgery, my temporary healing dentures (very nice), the titanium implants for my lower arch, my permanent "Comfilytes" dentures, all interim & follow up care appts- including regularly sceduled soft re-lign appts. to ensure my comfort during the healing process- design, fitting, & after care for the Comfilytes, which come w/a 7 yr. 'warranty', & basically any & all other associated care. The front office staff are professional, pleasant & confident~ always more than willing to rearrange scheduling, when possible, & always have a kind word, regardless of how busy they are, or how many less-than-kind people they may have dealt with that day. Please keep in mind the myriad of humans who walk through those doors, including pain levels, dental/financial expectations, & personalities in general~ there's a real variety of us out here, & I'm fairly certain the staff here see a true cross section of people daily! Besides Dr. Andreason, my oral surgeon, I have had Dr. Chan for my care & treatment throughout~ also fantastic, personable & a highly qualified dentist. Love her! Same goes for the dental assistants & technicians, from the gentleman who made my healing dentures~ same day, zero advanced notice, obviously gifted at what he does as well~ to the women who have done my re-ligns & surgery after care. They work very well together, & are consistently checking in w/patients on comfort level, questions/concerns, & any wait times- which are minimal, & well worth it. At first I thought Aspen Dental cared about the health of my teeth. I had just come from a horrible experience at Patterson and told them how bad Invisalign was and that I DID NOT WANT INVISALIGN retainers. I thought I had made that very clear to the D.D.S. and the staff. I stated this to the tech's 3 times the hygienist during my cleaning and both Dr.'s. I even left a message on VM stating this fact. When I came in to pick up my retainers what did I get!!! You got it (INVISALIGN). Explained the error the the tech and was told to take them home and try them as the retainers are more comfortable the the treatment trays. Same problem!! They were cutting up the inside of my mouth so bad I have scars inside my cheeks and had open sores on my gums. Then COVID 19 hit and they were closed for several months. So this week I brought them back and showed them a photograph on my phone with a huge bruise on the side of my mouth. For the months during the closure during COVID 19 I could not wear the retainers and now my teeth have shifted so much they said I needed to back in braces. Was also told that no way could I have gotten that bruise from them. I asked for a refund and was told we can't help you. I spent $2500.00 there. As long as you are giving them money they treat you well and when you have a problem they want nothing to do with you. Whatever happened to good customer service. I am contacting an attorney and getting my records copied. Never will I go back there again. I feel like I was accused of being a liar. read more

Driving to appointment, I received a phone call at 9:05 am asking me where I was and informing me my appointment was scheduled for 9:00 am, and to hurry in. We arrived at 9:20 am and I was told that we could wait for my wife's appointment at 10:45 am, but that I lost my appointment and could be rescheduled 4 hours later. I showed them the email, sent by Aspen Dental, specifying a 9:30 am appointment and was told that was sent May 14 (for June 17appointment). I was told that I was texted a reminder, which I was, but there was no time specified in the text. Aspen Dental Prescott Valley cancelled my apointment for periodontal maintenance twice I have to drive total 3 hours to get there and back .Also need to take antibiotic for any dental treatment with my underlying heart condition. I work as a caregiver for older people and asked a few question to the hygienist Amber today before my treatment and she did not answer all question and told me if I don t feel safe here i should leave now . after I told her to proceed the treatment. she told me again to better leave because I am apprehensive and I should not go shopping. The visit was the worst.  I have never experienced this kind of situation.  I told them I was in major pain and they couldn't get me in for 4 days.  When I did come in they did everything else and then talked about the pain. They gave me a list of everything that needed to be done and that to fix the major pain I would have to wait an additional day.  The cost was enormous and they tried to say I had diseased gums. I do not. That is not how a new patient should be treated.  In addition, I gave my insurance information right away and then when I got done the billing lady said I wasn't covered.  She should have told me that before I sat down in the chair.  It ended up I gave the wrong insurance card.  I went home and my wife found me someone to do my root canal 3 hours later and I am no longer in pain. read more

Aspen dental overcharges patients! I went once and completed a procedure and paid 3 times what my husband did for a deep cleaning with the same insurance! They charge the unknowing patient for items you do not need and in follow up try to give you a replacement toothbrush without telling you that you will be charged for it. After the 2nd and final cleaning, I realized it and told them to keep their toothbrush! I found a wonderful, honest dentist elsewhere however upon multiple requests, Aspen dental never sent my records to them and I even physically went back to the office to sign a release and they still didn't send the records to the dentist. My new dentist already knew he would never receive them. That's my experience with Aspen dental and how bad their reputation is! read more

If there is anyone following this thread, you should know I am soooo pleased the Clinic decided to prove my point! Notice how the responder mentions the Clinic's Mission Statement - oh wait - they didn't! Did they even mention the essence of the issue? Nope. Here it is. It's about a $5xx. A Tech made a defective Temp Fixture. Even after weeks of grinding, twisting, lectures on how I must adapt, it failed. The reason: improperly made gel mold. The mold is made using a goo that hardens to make the fixture. Defective mold = Defective Fixture. Eventually Finance, then the Doctor, decided to hold me hostage using my own $5xx dollars, after spending over $7k with them, I was going to react emotionally over - $500? Yes and No. Yes - because, hey! It is MY $5xx we're talking about! And No, because - something about being held hostage really ticks me off - must be the Army in me! Judge for yourselves. Though I want my $5xx I would have liked Dr. to finish, as I mentioned in a letter, I wrote to him, to which, he never responded. (That really disappointed me - in him, and made me anxious to just leave the whole mess behind.) So, I received a completion quote from a very reputable DDS in town, at a price (his full retail listed price) less than the completion price at Aspen, including Aspen's reduction using my $5xx! So, great DDS, less than Aspen less my $5xx - no brainer! As I said, I was going to have Aspen finish, until I did not get even a phone call. So, it does go from the top down! I never - ever - received a return call from Aspen, throughout this whole ordeal. They made the bad fixture and then they made ME the bad guy! You have seen now how this clinic "listens" (not!) to their patients, and got a great look at their customer/patient conflict resolution skills.and, why it pays to get 2 or 3 opinions before agreeing on any clinical procedure. There's oh so much more, but that's not the point of this issue for this forum - right? Another reason to err on the side of the Patient/Customer is how the business is perceived: Holding a Pat/Cust hostage visa vie: "if you stay with us to the end - we will credit back your money!" Would it not have been better to honor what the option I chose and let the then established good will between us, keep me, the customer, me the patient, coming back for the rest of the procedure? You know, resolving things before escalation? Summary: Tell the truth, become available. and make ethical decisions (as opposed to the hostage tactic),and amp up communication, not silence. This clinic gets an F on the Mission Statement implementation part. Their "woke, group think" was annoying, reminds me of what a famous person once said "Go Woke, Go Broke!" Then there is the small matter of customer service: returning a call would be a great way to start. If a company has a hard time deciding whether to refund on a bad product (due to their own mistakes in the gel mold making part or just plain screwing up the final product), or, a "credit on account" - It has to be the patient/customer's choice. Has to be. Make a bad product, refund. It's not the customer's place to "risk share" with the business. If one is risk adverse, stay out of owning a business! For those reading this wall of shame. it should be apparent that there is a big part of this practice is simple incompetence. I should have bailed when the needle went through the roof of my mouth and into my nose, when the MD could not recognize tooth enamel, when apparently, my HIPPA rights we're used against me, and when the lying in Admin began - I am going to collect this Wall of Shame and post it to the PV BBB. They do not do Implants in Prescott and will not give you quotes at all over the phone. It all about them getting you into the office. If you want to get Implants you have to drive to Glendale, AZ. So irritating. I called six different offices in Prescott /Prescott Valley and everyone was super nice about giving quotes over the phone. This place was a big turn-off. read more

When I called to make an appointment she said I'd have to make 2 separate appointments, one for the exam and then come in again for a cleaning. I have been to several dentists and have never heard that. I explained with work and child care that I really needed it on the same day. She completely ignored me, started asking me irrelevant questions and pushing me into an appointment slot. Absolutely terrible experience. I know I need some dental work, however, nothing was explained, no plan or path was explained - just an $18,000 estimate that was phrased that I need this much work on my teeth (replacing old fillings with crowns). The family dentist I worked with previously to this encounter at least identified which items are more important and how things should progress. I had seen my previous dentist not even 10 months before seeing this Aspen Dental practice and none of this was previously stated by my dentist. I left disappointed and not cared for as a patient. They claim to take walk-ins, being new to the area, I needed immediate help as I had broke a tooth/old filling. They didn't even fix the tooth - they gave me an estimate of what services they felt I needed. Needless to say, I will be seeking out a family practice dentist and will never return to Aspen. read more

Was giving this place a shot despite seeing some of the reviews for it. The first visit was ok- just X-rays and a checkup. I had to schedule an appointment a week after for the cleaning and I showed up for my appointment and waited 40 minutes. I then went to the receptionist to ask how much longer. She said they had changed my appointment to an hour later and attempted a call at the end of business the day before my appointment (I have no missed calls) to tell me. I even received a text and email stating my correct time, not this hour later time. This is very unprofessional and inconsiderate and I will not be returning. I didn't mind sense it was free About a week later I tried to schedule a wisdom tooth removal. I had to call several times in one day to give them insurance info. Overall, the front desk person Jennifer wasn't friendly, un-organized and not accommodating. I am a six year Aspen patient. My denture plate is six years old and still fits perfectly. The husband and wife Dr. team and staff at Aspen are exceptionally kind, hard working and skilled. Lately, both Drs., husband and wife, worked very hard for about an hour to save a tooth that was very important to me and the fee was much more than reasonable. I'm not the patient but I know someone close to me who is. If you don't want any kind of pain medication after having 32 teeth removed, not even tylenol & codeine and you want to cry and shake in pain, and if you're on blood thinners and the dentist tells you to take ibuprofen and tylenol - when she knows you're on blood thinners and shouldn't be taking ibuprofen, then your gums excessively bleed and have to return in the afternoon, then again the following morning then this is the place for you! read more
