They do a thorough and complete assessment of your teeth and explain everything to you in a clear and precise manner that's easily understood. They work out an action plan on how to treat any conditions or resolve any issues with your teeth. A detailed explanation is provided for each patient with or without insurance what your insurance will pay and what the patient may have to pay out-of-pocket expenses. I made an appt. in early 2026 ONLY so when I did want to schedule something, I would not be a "New" patient and have to wait months. Decent facility with WAY over the top with the facility layout and decorations. It looked like one of the dentists won the lottery and stick a bunch of money into the facility. Scheduled a cleaning and exam for a couple months later. I called 6 weeks in advance of my appointment to reschedule as I have a work conflict. On the phone they tell me that they can squeeze me in for EITHER a cleaning OR an exam, not both on the same day... in December. It is currently March. This is infuriating and at that point they should be wasting less of people's time and simply say they are not accepting new patients. I am going to find a new dentist, they grow on trees around here, and I am going to share my experience with every single person I can. read more

Their care is perfect. Checks for cancer, check for all dental work needed. They asked if I had dry mouth. I said how did you know. I had more plaque than usual. Last Saturday I broke my front Veneer tooth and was in a panic. Being a Saturday it seemed no local dentist where open in the area so I left numerous messaged. When Monday morning came around only Leah from 89A Dental Care was the only one out of the 6 dentist that I called and left messages with. So that made my decision a simple one. Leah squeezed me in on Monday to have Dr. Flake do a quick evaluation of my chipped front tooth. The entire staff was so professional, helpful, friendly and truly considerate of my time and my personal issue with my front tooth being broken. They where able to get me a appointment the next day (Tuesday) to fix my broken tooth. By Tuesday mid day my tooth had been replaced. Absolutely terrible company to work for. I have several friends that have worked here and unanimously agreed that Dr. Howsden is flippant and uncaring about his employees, as well as his patients. He and 89A both claim that they are "looking out for their customer's health and wallet" while simultaneously doing the exact opposite by asking ludicrous numbers from their patients. In addition, he recommends over-the-top, unnecessary procedures for people that only need smaller procedures done, increasing his wealth and essentially stealing from his patients while also hurting their health. They also DO NOT GIVE BREAKS, LUNCH OR OTHERWISE. You are expected to work 10-12 hour shifts with little to no rest, and any time off you request, even months in advance, is your responsibility to find coverage for. Absolutely ludicrous company. I wouldn't be surprised if the labor board shuts them down with all of the illegality that's happening here. Do not use 89A as your personal dentist and definitely do not work here. They will bleed you and your wallet dry. read more

I'm trying to find a dentist that isn't always trying to upsell me stuff, does good work and at least acts like they care. Thought I did it here with Dr Steele. She is easy to talk to, attentive, didn't upsell me and the consultation visit (which I think is dumb and I wish they'd go back to consult and clean) went well. Then I went back for a filling repair. The dentist and an assistant started it and mid way the dentist just left and never saw her again and that is when I became invisible. The two women talked the entire time like they were having drinks after work - I wasn't invited. They were discussing who were the different dentists favorites, upcoming plans, their housing problems. One kept resting her tool in my bottom lip and when I tried to get their attention they seemed annoyed. It was all very uncomfortable. The one assistant was the roughest assistant I have ever encountered. I guess it was good that I was very numb. Three hours after I left the place and was just coming out of being numb. When it wore off though that bottom lip sure hurt and now the tooth that was filled that had zero sensitivity is now sensitive to cold. Overall a terrible second visit. Too bad too, she seemed like a good dentist. read more

I can't rate this place high enough. The dentists were super nice, super gentle, and super caring. I had former dentists recommend much higher costing treatments for similar solutions. The people were friendly and caring and fun to joke around with. I'm stoked to have gotten an appointment with these great people. Recently had implants new lower dentures by Dr Benion. It took too long (11 months) but Dr. Benion kept at it until they were right. The staff went out of their way to fit me in for adjustments & was generally very friendly & helpful. read more

New to town, brought my 12 year old in for a cleaning. They make you do a consult with X-rays at one appointment cleaning at another. At the cleaning appointment they did more X-rays. At the cleaning appointment my husband went in to pay, they told him there was a zero balance that It was paid in full, which we assumed was the $165 I paid at the first appointment. A month later we get a bill for another $198. Basically just under $400 for a child's X-rays and cleaning. We don't do fluoride so if you do it'll be over $400. He has good oral care so zero issues, zero cavities and yup almost $400 bills. Don't recommend. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. The main concern is pushing their performance, poor staff and dentist. After my first cleaning I was given a crazy treatment plan to remove all fillings that were causing me zero pain. At my next appointment to remove the filling and get a new one I was numbing for 3 minutes when a worker walked in and advised me we would be taking a pano x ray..... Never in my life have I taken an x ray after being numb. There was zero reason to take this X-ray other than push performance by charging my insurance. Terrible experience that is going to end up causing me a lot to fix. Not to mention the new filling he did is causing incredible nerve pain and will now more than likely need a root canal. read more

Every time....EVERY time that I walk into this office, I am greeted with a smile and called by my first name. If I am having my teeth cleaned by the wonderful Kim, she makes it so easy, so pleasant, and I nearly always fall asleep...even when she is scaling! And then I leave with "orange-creamsicle" flavored tooth polish! What could be better? This office is equipped with the latest technology. That's huge to me. And last, the icing on the cake, is Dr. Craig Howden. This man is not only an exemplary human being, (he donates his services in Mexico), but he is also THE best dentist I've ever had in my 69 years of good dentistry. I've never felt an iota of pain! Staff has always been nice, however you can't get them on the phone. Even if you call them right back you go to a voicemail. In this case we called them for 2 days to try and cancel a visit. We left them a message and they sent us one in the mail with a bill for $50 since we missed the appointment. Very sad!!!! I did not call them about this for The obvious reasons. I went to 89A Dental for 6 1/2 years with no major problems...then I had to deal with their front office staff. I went in for an appointment and they handed me an information form to fill out. I had questions about why they needed some of the information they were asking for. I told them that I had questions. I was informed that if I didn't fill out the form right then that they would not treat me. REALLY!! Fine. Don't treat me. Craig Howden, the primary dentist at the practice and the one who supposedly was my dentist (I rarely saw him) called and we had a reasonable conversation. He said he would have his staff call and schedule another appointment. I've waited a month for the call that never came. I turned in a release of records form so they could send my records to my new dentist and the clerk at the counter couldn't resist giving me one more snarky "no problem" as I walked out the door. I recommend that you find a local dentist who actually wants you as a patient. This office definitely does not. read more

First Off, I hate dentists. I saw Dr. Howden for a crown that worked loose after 20 years. This is the doctors chance to sell me something I don't need. He came to the conclusion that the cement simply failed. He cleaned everything up and glued the crown back on. He could have up sold me and did not. He was painless and professional. I am new to Prescott, and looking for a great dental office is one thing I hate. After doing a great deal of research, I managed to do the process of elimination, and finally found one close to me. I went in to meet the staff and Doctor Bennion. The first thing I noticed was how nice the office was, and from the time I walked in, all I got was a cheerful greeting from the staff. The girls were "all smiles" and ready to help me. Dr. Bennion was so "down to earth" and was so helpful with all the questions I had. He really made me feel comfortable and answered all my questions in great detail. Dr Craig Howden and his staff are extremely service oriented. Whenever ANYONE asks me who I recommend for dental needs, I do not hesitate to send them to 89A dental. Professional, Friendly, Great Service! We just moved to Prescott from Phoenix and we're looking for a dentist. 89A Dental was the only practice that would schedule our cleanings being new patients. All of the other dentists required an initial work up appointment prior to our cleaning appointment (basically to try and get us to do unneeded cosmetic dental work).Everyone at 89A from the front staff, hygienist, to the Dr were warm, welcoming and professional.
