Karen helped me get Chloe acclimated as she was leash reactive wanting to greet every dog we see on walks. It was important to me that Chloe was trained through a positive reinforcement approach and Karen's methods are aligned with my preference. She also taught me how to handle all her triggers, how to emergency u-turn, and suggested a type of no pull harness that was a game changer. I stayed consistent with her methods and Chloe learned very quickly. She now walks relaxed on a loose leash next to me and can learn to let go when seeing other dogs. After a year, Chloe started barking furiously nonstop in her car seat. Karen helped suggest a new car set up that instantly removed Chloe's anxiety. She now rides quietly in the backseat laying down. I also really appreciate Karen's detailed notes, links to suggested products, and next steps outlined each time after a training session. I still continue to use Karen as needed but training on different areas to help Chloe continue to thrive. We are so grateful for Karen's guidance and she is always so kind and patient with Chloe during the training sessions. It's a small area to explore, which was perfect for my 5 year old and 3 year old. The creek is clean, small, with no currents. The kids walked through the creek while searching for fairies.‍ We had pictures taken as well by Violet. I was pleased with her interactions and her quick turnaround time to look through the photos. We packed a small lunch and ate at the Elfin Forest. Kedra and Alyssa "Little" were professional, down to earth and made us feel very welcomed and safe. I would recommend this to any family wanting to get away for a few hours. We were there from 7:30 to 10:30 am. I got lost getting there and had no service. So make sure to go old school and hand write your directions if you dont know the area, like me. We will be going back soon.

Equine Therapy was a voluntary class to take at Luminance, the recovery center I was in. I i…read moreitially thought this would be incredibly stupid, and an absolute waste of time. I was 100% wrong. The experience was amazingly incredible. We were told the horses were very intuitive, and I quickly discovered that myself. Dealing with both PTSD and the opiate addiction that came with it, my thoughts and feelings, and my energy output were all negative. And based on the exercise we were doing, the horse I had chosen reacted negatively. About to give up, I cleared my mind and tried my best to find peace, and for the first time that afternoon, the horse did a total about face, and the exercise took an unexpected and life changing turn. From that moment on, I knew I had to face the horrors of my past if I were to have a future. The horses, and the incredible staff, at Intuit are simply amazing. If you put your all in it, you will walk out of the therapy with a new insight. The staff are caring and compassionate, and clearly love what they are doing. They will listen if you want to talk. They will allow you to be as open or as quiet as you wish. I cannot recommend Intuit and the Equine Therapy enough. What I experienced there is a story I share to this day, now a month shy of a year since I was there. I promise you, if you enter the therapy with Intuit with an open mind, your life will be altered in ways that you never thought possible.

However I was very abruptly and rudely approached by one of the counselors when I went to do just that. I had had a really long hard day and went to take a walk, the fairgrounds where these horses are kept used to be a place where I took lessons. and it was a friendlier place then. Anyways, I was told very rudely that if I wasn't volunteering ti clean up after the horses that I wasn't welcome to pet the horses. I asked for clarity and because I found it off putting that a mental health worker would believe that tone of voice to represent a therapist, somebody who supposedly has compassion and empathy, if she owned the barn because I thought that the fairgrounds owned it. She just sort of got all huffy and acted like she couldn't be bothered to answer my questions. Not impressed.

One tried to break the door down and everyone had to hide in the corner of a dark room until the police arrived. Not safe at all! Director dismisses everything in effort to keep clients there for insurance money. If your child is struggling, this place will only make things worse.
