Highly recommend Karen from SunDog Therapy to all dog owners, especially new dog owners. We have been training our new puppy with Karen for about 4 months now. She is extremely knowledgeable and great to work with. After each training session, she sends a detailed training plan with plenty of supplemental information from other credible dog trainers.

We met Karen and her therapy dogs a few weeks ago in our search to help our 3 y/old child with Autism. We will do indoor/outdoor sessions and even pool sessions! She was very accommodating and she definitely helps build the foundation in helping our child improve her social skills. She has a very special skill set and we believe that with the right amount of patience and perseverance, this therapy sessions can definitely help open a lot of possibilities to help our child with all her fine/gross motor, sensory and OT needs. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover Autism related therapies(sucks big time) so we are doing private pay services. We explained our situation to Karen and she will definitely work with you. We are very excited for our lil one and we look forward to more sessions with Karen and her awesome therapy dogs Dottie and Tater!

Karen has worked with me and my two pups, Charlie and Lucy, since they were about 1.5 years old. They are now almost 3 years old we continue to learn so much from Karen; at this point we think of her (and Dottie and Tater) as permenant members of our pack! As a trainer, what impresses me most about Karen aside from her professional/educational certificates and knowledge in her field, is her keen observational skills of both the human and the pups. Both of my pups live with various levels of reactivity toward humans and other dogs. Karen has taught me how to better understand their reactions and triggers, and how I can better manage their environment and my own behavior to set them up for success. Having Karen's guidance has made a huge positive difference in our lives.

When I brought home my 6 week old Australian shepherd Kobe, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. With minimal dog training experience with a high maintenance breed, i felt that it was best to get my dog into some sort of basic puppy obedience training. The search for a dog trainer Was rather a stressful process. I had several consultations with popular dog training agencies, and most I've stumbled upon utilized methods such as E Collar training. Although I didn't exactly what I was looking for, these types of dog training methods didn't sit well with me. After a relentless search for a dog trainer right for Kobe and myself, I decided to contact the AKC family dog director who referred us to Sundog Therapy and needless to say I couldn't be more happy with the services provided by Kobe's trainer, Karen. She was very communicative, flexible and patient in educating us on reward based and positive reinforcement methods. Through these methods, I can now take my dog out in public to socialize with other people and other dogs without any insecurities. I would recommend Sun Dog Therapy to any family/friends in a heartbeat!

Ask the Community - SunDog Therapy

Does SunDog Therapy offer a one-time public event visitation where dogs are able to visit a school for students to come and pet the pups?

Hi Krystel, I do not offer one-time visits. I provide multi-session recreational/wellness programs or animal assisted therapy within occupational therapy interventions. It sounds like you are looking for a visit from volunteer therapy dog teams. You…

Pretty sizeable PetSmart but I feel like the focus is more on cats and dogs than anything (but…read morethat's the case with many of these big box/franchise pet stores). It's located in the same plaza as Fukuya Life, Target, Old Navy, and Ross. Lots of parking but it can get quite busy with people walking about. They have mobile order through the PetSmart app for pick up later and you can stack points too with your purchases or unlock deals, as with every location. It's a clean location which is nice. The adoptable looked clean and comfortable and were active. Everything was organized and clean. The mice, hamsters, and guinea pig had clear eyes and were lively. Not a fan of the chameleon glass surfing and grasping at nothing, but I'm just not a fan of chameleons being sold to non advance reptile keepers either. I think I was just disappointed in the lack of goods for reptiles here, more so in comparison to other PetSmart locations. Only had crickets and no other feeder options, at least when I went.

I visited this specific store to return a glass enclosure that was in perfect condition and had…read morebeen purchased approximately three weeks earlier, well within the return policy. The open cage belonged to my healthy chameleon (purchased from petsmart), who had passed away earlier this morning after experiencing severe breathing difficulties. While I cannot say with certainty what caused her sudden condition, I was concerned that the enclosure's limited ventilation may have contributed. The return itself was processed, however, what made this experience so upsetting was the complete lack of empathy from the female cashier during such a difficult moment. When I explained that my chameleon had passed away and that this was the reason for the return, there was no acknowledgment or expression of compassion. I was also asked if I had my receipt for the chameleon. We were already aware that the return period for pets had long passed, and we were not attempting to return her. In which she reminded us of that. Before leaving, I asked if the store had a simple cardboard box available (knowing that they do carry some for purchased pets) so I could place my chameleon in it. The cashier simply responded, "No," with an irritated/annoyed tone, without offering any alternatives or assistance. No effort was made to help. A response such as, "I'm sorry, we don't have any boxes, but we do have containers in aisle ___," or, "Let me check with my manager to see if we have something that could help," would have shown compassion. Furthermore, a simple "have a nice day" or something wasn't said. As a loyal PetSmart customer, I have always believed in your commitment to caring for pets and the slogan "Anything for pets". I wasn't expecting special treatment or an exception to any policy. I was simply hoping for a small amount of empathy and basic customer service during one of the hardest days of owning a pet. Ultimately, we left the store grieving the loss of our chameleon and carrying with us an equally disappointing customer experience. Losing a pet is heartbreaking on its own, and the lack of respect we encountered only made an already painful day even more painful. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to remind associates that kindness, empathy, and a willingness to help, even with kind words; can make a meaningful difference to customers.

My daughters were eager to get a new pet and decided on a bearded dragon. Since we didn't know much…read moreabout this species, I took them to PetSmart to check if they had any available for sale. Luckily, they had just received a few young dragons, and they were on sale as well. We were greeted by a very friendly sales representative (I wish I could remember his name) who not only showed us the reptiles but was also very knowledgeable about the species. It didn't take long for my daughters to be convinced that this was the right pet for us, and soon we were on our way home with our new companion. Overall, the experience was easy and enjoyable. Thank you, PetSmart, for helping us welcome a new member to our family!

I went there (Eastland) looking to buy prescription diet for my very sick dog at home who has been…read moresick for over a week. My vet told me to go directly to pet smart and buy her food ASAP because she needed it tonight . I walked in and asked the cashier to clarify the procedure to purchase prescription food. She told me to walk back to ban-field and they have to write me a prescription card and then I could purchase the food. I walked back there and of course there were no employees at the counter. I waited patiently approximately 20 minutes with not one employee coming to help or tell me they would be with when available. I walked back to the cashier and asked if they were open because I could hear several females laughing but nobody came out to help me. I asked if she could tell them they had a customer waiting. She said she could not communicate with them but said she would send someone to knock on their door and let them know I was there. She also informed me that they could see me standing there with their cameras . I waited another 10 minutes and nothing and no employee came to knock on the door as promised . I then decided to call ban-field directly because I could still hear them all laughing and carrying on about their personal problems . A female answered the phone and I asked her if she could send someone to help me at the counter. She answered very rudely that she was busy. What happened to having compassion for customers and sick pets. You ladies should be ashamed of yourselves. All I wanted was some direction on how to purchase the food for my sick baby at home. I then drove to the Glendora pets mart. A female Michelle from Ban-field put me on hold for 12 minutes then hung up on me. I called back and she said to ask the pet smart employee not her. I walked in and thankfully I was met by a kind employee at the front named Tiffany. Thank you so much for your help and compassion. She helped me and escorted me to where the food was at and filled out a prescription card for me. She said ban-field will only fill out cards if they prescribe it. She checked all the stores who had what I needed in stock and went way out of her way to help me with my situation. I told her what a happened to me and she apologized for their behavior. Yes Eastland had what I needed but I will never go back and probably buy it from chewy or anybody else. Thank you Tiffany,
