He terrified my wife by relating how many kids he put in the morgue from meningitis. We got a 5 minute lecture on how ignorant and stupid we were. All this because we decided to delay this vaccination by 3 months.

I'm writing to share an experience with Littleton Pediatrics that I feel other parents deserve to…read moreknow about. In July 2025, this office repeatedly failed to correctly call in my son's necessary ADHD prescription -- a medication he's been prescribed for years. Despite multiple phone calls over several days where I carefully provided all the details, the prescription was sent incorrectly multiple times. This became an urgent issue. We were leaving for the East Coast for nearly two weeks, and my son needed his medication before we left. Each time I arrived at the pharmacy, I was told the prescription was still wrong. The final explanation I received was that the doctor "was just going by what was in his charts," which was inaccurate and concerning given this is a controlled substance. After nearly a week of failed attempts, I was forced to drive across town and show up in person on a Saturday to beg them to get it right. I was desperate to get the prescription corrected. I waited in their office for nearly an hour without being seen by a doctor. Hours later, a physician finally called to apologize and confirm that the prescription had finally been called in correctly. Weeks later, I was stunned to receive a bill for that same day -- listed as an "office visit." I was never seen. I was there out of necessity, only because their repeated mistakes made it impossible to get my son's medication any other way. I have reached out to the office multiple times asking them to remove this charge, but as of this writing, they have not done so. This experience was incredibly stressful, time-consuming, and unacceptable. No parent should have to beg for days to get their child's prescription filled correctly, and certainly not be billed for the privilege of fixing the office's repeated errors. We used to love this practice. Dr Froehlke was FANTASTIC. We are so sad we had to leave, but it's continued to spiral since he left.

Regardless, the billing practices apply to all their offices. ------ If you happen to try another practice for a while and then come back (3 years or more), expect to be treated as a new patient and slapped with a more costly first visit! We took our daughter to Pediatrics West, the Littleton location, beginning at birth. After a year and a half or so, we switched to another practice, following our favorite doctor who left there to start his own practice. We didn't realize, and were not told, unfortunately, of the questionable circumstances of his departure from Pediatrics West. Fast forward to now, and after the problems surrounding that doctor came to light, our daughter was sick, and we decided to go back to Pediatrics West again. And we got hit with a bill for twice the normal visit cost as a "new patient." They admitted they still had all her records in the system, but for some reason they still thought they should get to extort extra money from us because we hadn't been seen by one of their doctors for a period of 3 years. This was pretty poor in my opinion. I have gone 5 years or more not seeing my doctor because I wasn't sick, and he didn't charge me a new patient fee when I did finally go back. I get that they are a pediatrics office, and so would expect to see patients more often, but that doesn't make it ok to charge a penalty to someone for returning to your practice. You would think they would be happy to have someone coming back rather than making it more of a financial hardship. There is no reason the visit should cost more; all the data is computerized and just as easy to pull up after 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years, and you easily pick up from there. Besides being overcharged for our return visit, we were reminded how cold and sterile their offices and overall attitude toward patients is. They may have good doctors, but we haven't experienced any shining stars since our initial evaluation visits of the practice 6 years ago. I guess we'll just have to find an office that actually cares about their patients and doesn't just treat them as statistics on a spreadsheet. ------ Review update: Pediatrics West did end up refunding us the difference in cost for the first-time vs. established patient visit. So, that was good, and as a result, I give one more star on my rating.

As a recent Medical Assistant graduate, I accepted this position excited to finally begin my career. I was willing to learn, take feedback, and put in the effort to become a strong member of the team. Unfortunately, I did not feel that I was given a fair chance to do that. What was especially frustrating was going through training and having my time invested, only to ultimately be told that I was not the "right fit." I was also told, essentially, that I was not the person they had interviewed. I found that extremely hurtful because I felt like opinions about me were formed before people had actually taken the time to know me or give me the opportunity to prove myself. There were also communication issues that made the experience even more frustrating. For example, I was told I was 30 minutes late, but I had been told by Laura to come in at 8:30. I explained that I had not even been added to the Homebase app yet, so I did not have access to the schedule they were referencing. Instead of working through the communication issue with me, it became an argument. I also experienced what felt like a very unwelcoming work environment. I believe coworkers should be professional and respectful, especially toward someone who is brand new to the field. I was trying to find my place and learn, not walk into a workplace where I already felt judged. Being a new graduate does not mean I know everything. It means I am there to learn. I would have appreciated patience, clear communication, constructive feedback, and an actual opportunity to improve before a decision was made about whether I belonged there. I take responsibility for continuing to grow professionally, but I also believe employers have a responsibility to properly train and support new graduates. Unfortunately, I did not feel supported or given enough time to demonstrate what I could bring to the position. This experience was disappointing, especially because I entered healthcare wanting to build a career and genuinely hoped this would be a place where I could grow. I hope the clinic reflects on how it treats new graduates and considers giving future employees the fair chance that I feel I was not given.

I am a new resident to Conifer and needed to see a doctor, so I went to Conifer Medical Center on…read moreFriday, February 14th. I requested to be seen, and asked if they had an x-ray machine because I think I have pneumonia. At first, I was lead to believe that I would be able to be seen as a walk in appointment. Then, I also explained I did not have traditional insurance, so could the receptionist tell me the cash price for both the doctor's appointment and x-ray. The representative then went into the back to discuss this with someone and then returned and said they would not be able to see me. The excuse began with "since I'm not an established patient, it would be better if I was seen by another facility down the hill." I have the full ability to pay for my medical care, but have been failed in the past by traditional insurance, so being self insured is a much better option for me. I have mentioned this to a couple of locals since the incident and they have been surprised and disappointed to learn of the way I was treated. Shame on Conifer Medical Center, and no, I will never be an established patient there now.
