Our apartment had a CRAZY black mold problem. When we called them to come out and get it taken care of because we had just moved in, the sent their in house repair man. He came while we were gone so I rushed home to see what kind of fix they were going to do to fix the mold. Underneath our sink in the kitchen was completely sunken in from a leak that had been there for a long time and he began screwing plywood straight on top of the puddle and moldy wood. I told him that wouldn't fly and he said that is how they fix all of "the mold problems for their apartments". I immediately called their emergency repair line and complained. After a getting to a manager the repair man came back and reluctantly took out the old moldy wood and sprayed the mold with Clorox. Repair man reassured me that all the apartments have mold and this is how you take care of it. I complained initially because I started to get super sick when I moved into the apartment. The worst headaches of my life. And I never get headaches. Got out of the contract right after and they kept half of the deposit Beware beware beware beware beware

    Response to my complaint

I do not recommend aspen ridge management to anyone. Unfortunately my experience has been very poor. The past 2 years I've been living here a false fire alarm will go off at least once a month at 2am. Clearly there is an issue and they refuse to fix it. We are so over evacuating at 2am in the winter. There response (attached below) is it's common for college students to pull the fire alarm as a prank" College students just want sleep nobody is doing that!! Very frustrating

i promise you that you do not want to have to deal with this place. this place has the saddest management i've ever seen. they don't want to help you and they don't fulfill their side of the contract. if i could give this place negative stars, i would. the management and especially the manager here are terrible at their job, and even worse as people. they are full of excuses to why they can't help you ever, and even act disrespectful when you want something simple to be done my expectations are never high when moving into places, but wow did this place shoot low. the couches were completely torn, there was the most ancient and dirtiest rug on the ground, and the hard wood and carpet crunched when you walked on it. it would've been awesome to have it cleaned but the vacuum to the apartment was already broken and the office was closed for 4 days straight (friday-monday). the closets were filled with trash and everything smelled like absolute filth. when i tried to talk to them about everything, they said that they couldn't do anything because i didn't talk to them in time. no wonder i couldn't talk to them. they were closed. i even told them everything we already did and that we could help them, but they couldn't even meet in the middle we sent requests for help, but no help was given. they said that they were going to send someone to help, but they never came. we ended up cleaning up the entire place and asked for a little bit of assistance. apparently that was too much to ask for and the manager sent back her list of excuses of why they wouldn't help. please trust me and look for somewhere else, or at least check the place before you go there. also, don't expect any help, because you won't get any. if you need more proof, read the other yelp reviews. it just hurts me to see management companies taking advantage of students we already work so hard to live balanced lives.

    Bat in air vent

BAT INFESTATION. We found bats under our covers, between the beds and walls, in our closets, and our fireplace. Multiple times. Apartment is not willing to get rid of infestation or address with urgency.

Every email and verbal exchange with the employees is so entirely unprofessional.

Then when I pointed out some old nail holes in the walls and nicks in the paint, they petitioned the property owners to have the entire apartment repainted.

This is a solid place to live overall and I have enjoyed it…read more I lived here fall 2018, winter 2019, and spring 2019. I payed $320 per month ($295 base price plus $25 flat utilities rate) during fall and winter and $150 per month during spring ($125 + $25) Good: - There is new management since 2018. Becky and Megan are so friendly and accommodating. They are extremely reasonable and understanding, especially with cleaning checks and checkouts. - The maintenance is very prompt!! They will often come the same day you report a problem. - There is a pool, outdoor ping pong table, and small lounge with a piano. - The people here are friendly and decently social for the most part. - There is free parking and plenty of spots. This includes a portion that is covered/underground. Bad: - It's a little overpriced during winter/fall. There are places that cost about the same that are nicer, have larger apartments, and have more amenities like a basketball court. But that being said, it is still relatively cheap for a Provo apartment (where all the apartments overpriced). - No basketball court, volleyball court, or open grass areas for activities. - The apartments are very old and a lot of the furniture is too. However, they are in the process of remodeling all the apartments and are installing new couches and furniture. - It is becoming a men-only apartment complex in fall 2019. - Internet isn't the best here, but normally works fine.

I have honestly thought long and hard about this rating. I am 22, I am a student at BYU and I am…read morefrom Texas. This is the first place I lived after my mission. I have lived at Alpine Village for the past year and I will not sign a contract for next year. My first impressions of the complex and management was awful because my apartment was not cleaned before I moved in. The apartment was filthy. The fridge was filled with rotten food. The cupboards were filled with the previous owner's belongings. It was filthy. We contacted management and we were told that we would move in as is, so that is not management's responsibility. Rude. My roommates and I worked together to clean it up and we kept the place pretty clean, which made the apartment seem really nice. I kept my room clean and there was enough space to store everything. It was kind of small, but what do you expect from a college apartment. I really liked the size of the bathroom and vanity. It was a great size and everything seemed like great quality. I had a few interactions with management and they eventually helped me. It took awhile, but actions were taken and I was happy. The repairmen and cleaning crew are all so nice!!!!! I had a problem with a drawer and they fixed it right away. The repairman was so nice and I am happy he is employed with Alpine Village. Pricing. I recommend you read the entire contract before you sign. There are fees that occur every month. In my opinion they should be combined with the total cost of rent, but they are not. Nonetheless, they are listed in the contract. The fees include internet, cable, renters fee. I signed paying 449$ a month and with the price of utilities and other fees (NOT INCLUDING PARKING) i was paying around 515 every month. Then an additional 35 a month for parking (i heard that this is going up) Yes parking was expensive, yes i was bothered that they would charge so much, BUT i always found a parking spot and it was covered. I really, really, really liked my bishop and the other ward leadership. They really tried to be involved and I enjoyed church. I felt like I did not know many people in the ward because it was pretty small and I was unable to go to activities with my work schedule. However, I would say that a younger crowd seems to live at Alpine Village. I go to BYU and I felt like a lot of the students went to UVU and they were younger than me. This is fine, but i want to say my opinion for future people willing to sign. As a whole, I was paying around $550 a month to live here. I was upset with the price, but then i realized that 550 is not that outrageous for a private room, parking, and a good distance to campus. I had a car so sometimes i drove and parked on campus, or sometimes I walked. I hope this helps you determine if this is a place for you. I gave it a 3/5 star rating because it was nice always being able to find parking. As long as you keep your kitchen and room clean the apartment feels pretty spacious, and I felt like for the most part it was in a convenient location to campus. Alpine Village lost stars when i first moved in and how disgusting my apartment was. I hope they can resolve that issue in future move in phases. I also felt like the fee's, though were not hidden, caught me off guard. To add, I think that I would have enjoyed more BYU students and ward interaction. Moving here was an okay choice for me. It was simple to sign here, there were openings, and I did not have a terrible experience. Now looking back at it though, I wish i lived south of campus where more BYU students live in Provo. (also i recommend to anyone to try to live with at least one person you know. I had a good relationship with some of my roommates, while others I rarely spoke to. The person you decide to live with does not need to be your best friend, but it can be someone you know from your home ward or mission or someone from a class. Living with strangers is hard and makes you feel a little alone sometimes.) It was a good year at Alpine Village. Hope this helps.

Update: they continue to charge you when you move out as well. My roommates and I got bogus charges…read morefor damage done prior to our moving in, cleaning when we already deep cleaned the apartment, and for leaving items in our apartment when we left it clean.

Overall, I would recommend liberty square to anyone looking for a fun, social apartment complex…read more It's close to campus and they do a great job of trying to throw an activity probably every month. The price may be a little high and their flat rate cost for utilities is a little steep but they have everything you could need, such as an indoor basketball court that you can reserve, a clubhouse, outdoor basketball court, pool, hot tub, weight room, and laundry room. I have to give a shout out to the maintenance guy because I've put in a work order to get things fixed like refrigerator door handle, the freezer, and a backed up sink, and he's there to fix it within hours. On the other hand, could only give this place 4 stars because of the problems I've had with management. They messed up pretty bad on my contract, but I won't bore you with the details. I've heard of a lot of others having problems with them and at one point, 4 of us in my apartment had 4 different rent payments one month. I'm not sure how that happened.... They did kind of remodel the apartments 4 or 5 months back but I don't feel like it really improved it much. They replaced the carpet in the living room and floor in the kitchen with laminate flooring which has resulted in more failed cleaning checks because they get dirty pretty easily. The door handles on all of the lower cabinets are also in the wrong place, they should be at the top of the door and not in the middle. The remodel consisted of just painted the cabinets, the walls in the living room, kitchen, and hallway, and replace the flooring there too. The bedrooms remained the same. The A/C isn't wonderful, it really doesn't get that cool. I've you have it running all night, the rooms don't change much but the hallway is always freezing every morning!
